Headcanon: I just imagine Katsuki gaining consciousness at the batterfield, Izuku is there and keeps talking to him like “how are you? Kacchan please, please never do it again” but Katsuki is so out of it he just keeps staring at him/his lips REALLY intensely without saying anything, because for a second there he thought he lost everything.

Also I’m thinking about redrawing it, but I am making myself post more and don’t really have time to finish this rn so let’s call this WIP ;)

For As Long As He Could Remember (BKDK)

For as long as he could remember, Izuku coughed up flower petals. From the young age of four, he coughed up petals and leaves and seeds of green chrysanthemums and yellow roses. These were the colors of Kacchan's and Deku's hair, which fascinated him.

When it was found out that he wouldn't ever have a quirk, he coughed up his first full flower. It was a green zinnia. His mother looked it up on their home computer, fearful of which relationship Izuku's love wasn't reciprocated. A green zinnia, as it turns out, is the flower that symbolizes endurance and strong bonds between friends.

He was over at Kacchan's house the next day, listening to his mother argue with Kacchan's about her dying son. She was crying and yelling and there wasn't much either mother could do. Their separation made him much sicker, so Izuku started carrying tissues with him when he went on those childhood adventures with Kacchan.

It was two weeks after that tearful argument between their mothers that Kacchan confronted him, "Hey, Deku! Who is making you cough up all these stupid flowers anyways?" Izuku had been coughing into his elbow, having already bloodied all of his tissues for the day. He pointed at Katsuki, which made the fearless boy stop. Izuku was pushed into the dirt, tears rising to his eyes. "Don't lie to me, stupid Deku!"

The thing was, he never got worse after that. The most common thing about Hanahaki was that the people who had it never lived longer than a year from their first symptoms. Their condition killed them as their health gradually declined. The weirdest thing about Izuku's disease was that it stabilized after two months. Doctors couldn't explain it. There was one specialist that told him it might have been because he was quirkless. That answer left a gaping hole in his heart. If he ever wanted to save people, he would have to accept that Kacchan would never be his friend. Instead, he was determined to become a pro hero completely quirkless! He would save people without a quirk and with Hanahaki!

What do you think Deku’s reaction would be when Bakugo is revived again?

Crying, for sure. Lots of crying.

Probably repeating certain phrases/words over and over again, like "Kacchan" and "oh my god" and "Kacchan."

Hand holding. For sure. He'll never let go of Kacchan's hand again.

If he's revived but only wakes up in a hospital, then I could see Deku giving kacchan the all might card back and tell him that he cleaned it and got it signed for him, possibly a comment about how younger kacchan would've lost it if he saw the card now (/pos cuz "ITS SIGNED BY ALL MIGHT").

Ok bear with me….Pro Hero Izuku gets into a nasty fight with a villain and injures his head. Nothing fatal but he has temporary amnesia. He can’t remember anything that happened in the last six months and the first thing he does after gaining consciousness is trying calling Kacchan

But all he gets is…..

This number is currently unreachable

The doctor advises not to stress himself out or force himself to remember.

His friends and mom come over to the hospital and they have the same reaction when he asks about Kacchan.

His mother suddenly gets a bout of coughs and excuses herself from his hospital room, Kirishima activates his quirk without realising, his eyes haunted.

Todoroki says he has a cold and that’s why his voice is hoarse

Uraraka puts up a strained smile and tells him that Kacchan has gone on a mission

Izuku buys it and takes a leave of absence from work, waiting for Kacchan to come back home

Bored out of his mind, he takes a walk in the park beside his house, enjoying the autumn season. It had been a while since he visited that park.

Kacchan always made him hot chocolate with a dash of cinnamon. Izuku really missed him. He hoped he would come back home soon.

One lone orange leaf settles in his hair, complimenting his green hair. As if it belonged there.

Something sparks in him and he stops right before the cemetery, something in the air pushing him towards it.

Well, he supposed it couldn’t be that bad, it cut right through the Main Street and to his apartment.

Christmas was coming around the corner, he should get Kacchan something. Maybe new boots with reinforced steel, Kacchan’s were worn out.

Out the corner of his eye, something catches Izuku’s attention as he stops before a particular headstone.

It was unkept, dirty and neglected. But the marble looked new.

A sharp stabbing sensation ripples through his temple, Izuku collapsing to his knees, forehead touching the ground.

His eyes are blown wide, shaking uncontrollably…..

He remembers.

Everything.

The fight. The villain raising his arm, grinning menacingly as he let out a blast….aimed right at Izuku.

He pushed him out of the way.

Izuku felt his eyes burn with the sting of tears.

He didn’t have the courage to raise his head and read the epitaph.

Izuku hadn’t walked through this park in months…..not since the funeral.
