Just finished a playthrough of the fangame "Looking Mirror"...and damn my heart is in wrecks right now since so much 2wink angst packed in a game

SO AHEEM ANYWAY. you want happy facts.. oh those are kind of complicated cough BUT OK since I've been going ecstatic about hiyuso alliance I can talk about them !! The twins started to get along with Sora because Hinata and him became friends first and they were similar to each other ! One day Sora confused Yuta with Hinata to what Yuta replied grumpily (I love him) and yeah that's how they bonded too !! They formed Hiyuso alliance because Sora wanted a group of friends since he felt sad when he was excluded so the twins grabbed him and formed a little group with him. Hiyuso is EVERYTHING to me, I'd do anything. They usually play together but also because of Sora's ability he's able to provide support to the twins and notices when something is off, I mean, he was crucial for the setsubun plot for a reason. Sora's friendship with them is so pretty and silly and I love them so much and I will do anything for them

Had some time to finish Wrath of the Righteous in between clients and thought I’d give my Opinions, like I did for Kingmaker, but this time, with much kinder things to say!

May as well start off with the bad because there are so few:

- I preferred the map travel in the first game. They shortened the time it takes to get exhausted for no good reason omg. - The character backgrounds are quite literally useless as far as dialogue goes. Didn’t get to talk about being an Acolyte once, and only got to talk about being a Pharasma worshiper three times (incidentally, NOT when you actually meet her?). Such a wasted opportunity. Games like PoE incorporate backgrounds much more successfully imo.

Now for the good/great:

- Finally a game that lets you play as Anything-But-Lawful-Good successfully? A fantasy game that doesn’t try to force you to be the hero? Fuck yes. I had a great time being Chaotic Neutral - Chaotic Evil. There’s so many games where doing that will result in all your companions leaving you, being locked out of quests and any decent endings. But not this one!

- The story and antagonists were truly great. Getting banished to the Abyss the second you get some footing? Stressful but fun. The overall pacing was much better than in Kingmaker too. Areelu was so similar to my Commander (power hungry knowledge seeking creatures of chaos, let’s go), despite me not researching anything about her prior to the character creation. I almost considered saving her, but when she spoke about defying Pharasma, I had to stay in character. So, my commander sacrificed her but only out of duty, not necessarily out of personal want.

- The Mythic paths made the Commander feel very personalised. Trickster was a bit memey at some points, but generally a bit of fun. Like, I turned a powerful demon lord into a mirror instead of fighting her. Then slept with Socothbenoth, after pledging allegiance to his enemy... in front of all my companions and a bunch of other demon lords. Also, I still have each member of the council’s soul in a cauldron because I didn’t use it then skipped town, which may be the biggest prank of all. - The companions. Good god, I fell in love with so many of them. Woljif, my beloved rogue tiefling template. Arueshalae, the literal succubus, who just... stops being a demon as soon as Desna/the Commander shows her love and support (or you can make her evil again). Opposingly, Camellia, my “irredeemably evil” bestie, gets even worse when you show her love and support and I genuinely loved that because it’s such a rarity in this genre. And just... the entire Daeran romance. The hold that this fictional man currently has over me 😭 Like, I originally wanted to go for Arue but Count Sass started flirting while insulting me and my Commander was like ohh I’m going to ruin his life in the best way. Confession time part 1... Accidentally got the bad ending for Sosiel, but he married some guy and lived happily ever after still? He was just mourning his brother? Sorry to a fellow cleric. I’ll do better next playthrough and pay closer attention. Confession time part 2... I loved Wenduag but killed her in her last quest because In Character, and regretted it for the rest of the game. Definitely going to keep her alive next time. Soz Wendy.

But yeah, I highly recommend this game and desperately need multiple story DLCs to come out soon!

hi again! haven't played a ton since i last sent my ask lol because. well. i was putting off picking a house because i feel soso sad not picking my besties the eagles.... i think i'm gonna play quite a bit more tonight now that i've reached that point though! and yeah the second to last battle on CF is the dimitri one.

i'm definitely gonna get linhardt's a support next playthrough with the eagles! i'm gonna be more conscious of whose supports i'm getting next time because i didn't really realize what i was doing until like... halfway through the game?

the paired endings i ended up with were ferdinand and hubert, caspar and petra, and dorothea and sylvain. i really liked ferdinand and hubert's, caspar and petra's was pretty good, and while i didn't mind dorothea and sylvain's, if i knew what i was doing, i don't think i'd pair them up again lol.

speaking of which... i think i've decided i'm going to recruit petra this time as well instead of another lion.... i hear she and dorothea have a good paired ending and i only got up to their b support last time around. plus she has supports with claude which i'm interested to see. i say i'm going to recruit her instead of a lion but the more i think about it.... i'm probably gonna end up snagging ashe this time lol.

and. i think after i do a full playthrough of each route i'm gonna do a playthrough where i recruit everyone i can LMAO.

looking forward to seeing whatever it is that happens with marianne! she is such a fave for me honestly the more i think about her the more attached i get....

i have to be honest i have. no CLUE what classes my guys ended up as last time. sylvain and ferdie were on horses...... caspar was punching things by the end (i had him on a wyvern for a while but he was doing no damage and dying super easily so. i switched him over). uhhhh. and i'm blanking on everyone else. OH bernie was a sniper. i'll go check maybe? i think i have a save with everyone close to the end.

YIPPEE have fun getting his A support! its obv gonna be a bit but! hopefully you see it as worth it :] and ah okay... you mean like. the supports you get between the other characters? or do you mean which characters you get A supports w/ byleth :o? regardless, thats what the first route is for yk? esp since you havent played a single fire emblem game prior... im sure you did just fine! the support mechanic is rly fun, but it can def be a bit much, esp if you dont rly know whats going on. atleast you know what youre doing now though!

dfkdfn fair enough on dorothea and sylvain. i cant say much bc i have yet to go thorugh their supports let alone see their ending, but yeah them being paired def is not my first choice. esp knowing how sylvain is and all... even dorothea w/ any noble is a bit like. eh? for me tbh. i guess an exception being edie i suppose. or maybe im mainly thinking of ingrid. either way. her or dorothea being paired w/ any noble guy is a bit......... iddk for me kfdngkfg i soroooort of enjoy dorothea and ferdie though. i remember rly liking ferdie and hubert's supports and ending... will def have to watch and get petra and caspar's!

THEYRE SO SWEET. getting petra and ashe seems like a good plan to me! esp if you wanna see petra and claudes suppports... i only got to their c support but i rly liked what was going on dfgndg petra was ina treee. and that is all i will say. but yeah </3 have fun fighting your besties later in th egame i guess<//3 esp if you only recruit petra and ashe<///3

YEAAAGH THOSEROUTES ARE ALWAYS FUN.... bc it truly is interesting to see everyone's thoughts and stuff regarding the current events post timeskip.... since i assume its unique depending on which route youre playing. and its fun seeing what they have to say. esp if theyre not from the route's original house. so have fun w/ that!!!! i personally always recruit everyone i can just cause (or atleast i try) bc. i hate fighting them later on. but once again. angst is good

were you able to do marianne's paralogue :o? bc i think that is where the bulk of her character and backstory explanation comes from... my route of verdant wind was split in half (since i took like a 2 year long break LOL) so i cant remember exactly what happenss w/ marianne specifically... but she is therr w/ the rest of the golden deer which is alll that matters<3

no worries if you cant remember or cant find out man! i was just curious ! since theres just SOOO much you can do yk? sylvain and ferdie were on horses for me as well... but tbh im w/ you here i cant remember what i did exactly for my crimson flower run fdgndfg i think i had caspar on a wyvern as well? he worked out ok i think for me so i wonder what happened hmmmm. i watched a video and read the comments and a bunch of ppl were saying to like put everyone on a horse or wyvern or pegasus dfkgndfg bc tbh.... the mobility is SOOOO important and good. but i understand not going for it since the classes are pretty limited if you wanna do mounted or flying. but it has personally worked out very well for me. esp if my non mounted classes have a large movement range (aka non mage or non heavy armored classes) i tend to avoid heavy armor stuff, esp when the rest of my team have high mobility, bc the slowness of the classes become sooooo obvious. before you know it theyre lagging behind everyone else and its just hnnnng yk

fallout 4 struggle tweets: I just had the worst time and I’m literally just going to talk about how much it sucked

I’m on my third, ‘yes I’m really gonna finish this time’ playthrough and I never managed to get to the end of the automatron DLC before. I’d always had Ada around and never did the last part.

My first mistake when starting was thinking it’d be a regular length instance. It was about triple the size of a normal F4 ‘building with narrative in it’. God I think it took like 2 hours

They clearly put effort into the level design and I was impressed by the attention to lighting, atmosphere, even the dingy sound effects. It was pretty immersive. I gradually realised there was a backstory to the place, that this lair was actually the place robobrains were invented and it was showing you the horrific lead-in to how the military decided to harvest brains from living convicts to experiment on turning into robots. They didn’t care, they incinerated them for being distressed by their new bodies, etc etc. Like it’s not deep but it was lore I guess. You’re even paced through the scientific crimes committed an age past by being walked through the prison that housed the test subjects, even a bit Bioshock-esque with observation floors and still-living ghouls inside the cells.

There’s terminal entries for the scientists to go ‘oh my god what are they doing to people in the labs’ or ‘ha ha it’s so cool how we’re doing immoral crimes in the labs’, because you know, it’s fallout 4, but like it’s trying

There’s a main lab that’s devoid of enemy robots for once where you can soak in how disgustingly inhumane the history of robobrains was, see all the equipment and automated needles and suspicious stains on the steinman-basement tile.

None of this has anything to do with the Mechanist, the reason you came down there, who is a normal person wearing cosplay and yelling “Begone Evildoer!” at you.

It occurred to me, in the middle of those 2 hours of working through this hole, that it barely felt like Fallout 4 any more. They gave each room a different vibe, different lighting and colour effects, and they put down a more fleshed out backstory than you’d expect considering it wasn’t realted to the quest. The mood in the medical rooms backhands you with how hard they’re trying to play up the torture realism. There are still brains in jars everywhere. There’s a terminal that jokes about a scientist daring his colleagues to make a cocktail out of the brain fluids. It’s phenominally idiotic but in a way where it’s actually trying.

Then you have to step into a big big room and someone in a cardboard robot costume yells at you for being evil and sends waves and waves of customised robots after you.

The whiplash is too gigantic to be believed. This might be the most utterly serious ‘we experimented on living people that we deemed unworthy of human rights’ played straight in one of bethesda’s fallouts. Apart from the cocktail guy it’s depicted as unconscionable. This is where they decided to stage the funney delusional guy wears a comic supervillain costume hehe :o)

Additionally the lore is wildly all over the place. So they decided to fill in the creation of robobrains? The human experimentation thing is utterly basic, the medical rooms have dozens of brains? Just still floating in there? They also have a gigantic tank with 2 ghouls in it for some reason?? And there’s xrays on the wall, one of which is an xray of a deathclaw skull. I suspect re-used assets with nothing implied by any of this, or someone just flicking through existing stuff they could place and going ‘haha yeah’ with no more thought in it than that

I ran out of ammo in the mechanist confrontation. I’m on hardcore mode so I carry a limited amount because it takes up bag space. There are no places to take cover, because you can be shot through the floor gratings. I spent about 40 minutes dying and loading again every 6 seconds. My playstyle that got me to level 70 is a hide-and-snipe type Survivor, meaning I cannot live through heavy fire and no stealth. And after repeatedly saving every time I lived more than those 6 seconds, inching progress along, killing robots as fast as I could, I EVENTUALLY got to the point where the robot supply ran out.

And the confrontation didn’t progress, because it bugged and just didn’t end. According to the wiki this happens if you ‘kill the robots too fast’.

40 minutes that took me.

This is the point where I find out you can actually skip that entire fight if you find certain holotapes along the way - which I had - and I wondered why on earth I’d missed the opportunity to take the less hostile option I had already earned. Turns out it’s because you have to manually backstrack through the entire facility, which nobody would ever do, and that’s where the terminal to use them is. Instead of like, next to the door.

Then you find the Mechanist and she takes off her helmet and HOOLY FUCK SHE’S A WOMAN, ohh my GODDD what a fucking TWIST can you believe she used a voice modulator and was A WOMAN under the helmet a fucking WOMAN??

Fuck you bethesda

Then they recycled their same script from fallout 3 where she goes oh no I’m protecting the wasteland I’m good you’re the bad one. and you can speech check her out of it. All of that and the person you spent hours tracking down goes ‘oh it was a mistake haha’. No meaning to any of it, no point, nothing

Anyway I just killed the mechanist for making me go through that. I don’t care if the facility becomes a settlement I don’t want it I never want to go back there again

Tbh there isn't specifically anyone I *want* to romance, I'm just kinda "welp the mechanic is there, might as well make use of it" and try to get my ass that likes to keep things platonic a lot to finally change things up for once lol. bUT I do think we deserve some Dwarf romances. Varric, Harding, Sigrun, all very very high quality Dwarves who deserve some love

45. Which 3 DA characters would you want as your best friends?

ohh tough one! To me what always gets me is earning the friendship of closed off characters like Morrigan, Zevran or Fenris, having their loyalty just feels like such an honour and token of trust and respect. But I think the ones I imagine I'd actually get along with the best would be Alistair, Merrill and Solas, probably.

62. A character you think deserves more fan love?

Tbf I don't think I'm involved enough in the fandom to know who exactly does and doesn't get fan love, I just know who the people I follow like the most haha. From what I've seen Carver, Sera and Vivienne seem to get quite a bit of hate but I've also seen plenty of people who love and support those characters. Also the Dwarf NPCs always deserve more love, they are awesome.

73. Favorite OST song(s)?

Again, there are a bunch that I really love. The first that comes to mind is always the Calenhad Dock music, it's just so eerie and calm and melancholy and soothing and foreboding all at the same time and it captures the atmosphere so well, specially with the ambient sounds mixed in. Also those parts of the track that sound like muffled screams? *chefs kiss* The Party Camp music is really good too, it just has this certain atmosphere that makes the camp feel really special. I also daresay that some of the conversations with the party wouldn't have felt quite as profound and emotional without it. Also loved the music that plays in the throne room after the final battle in Origins. It feels heroic and ceremonial and uplifting but also a little nostalgic in a way? Like you know the story is journey is over, the friends go their separate ways, it feels a little heavy but not sad by any means. Idk I always find the ending of Origins feels like when you finish a good book and I think the track contributes to that feeling really well. Hawke's Theme is also top tier, it never fails to make me an emotional mess. I love how the theme starts off sounding comfy and calming in Act 1, but then as the game goes on you start associating it more and more with the loss and grief Hawke faces until it sounds sad and lonely and just hhh I hate it so much. Actually I realised that during Liam's playthrough, by Act 3 I actively avoided going to the estate as much as possible because just hearing the theme while roaming the empty house wrecked me.

Other tracks I love a lot are the theme that plays when you first come to Ostagar, it sounds so grand and heroic but in a sad way. The Grey Warden theme is epic too, always love that. I always love how calm and friendly the music in the Dalish camp in Origins sounded. Or the grand, heavy, proud Orzammar theme. Lothering's battle theme had no business sounding as epic as it did. Also loved Lothering's regualr theme. Love the battle theme during In Your Heart Shall Burn too, it really contributes to the feeling of making a last stand in Haven. And The Dawn Will Come of course. ...I think I'll stop now haha

edit: also the Descent theme!!! can't believe I forgot to mention that one, it's got an amazing high fantasy sort of vibe and it's grand and mysterious and epic

Already finished Coteries of New York, so on to Shadows of New York! I’ve seen the first bit in an LP, at least, but the bulk of the story will be new. This will have two playthroughs, one for each ending, since at least it has them XD First up - the ‘good’ ending!

Interesting note - at Lodestar, there were shadowy figures in the background, but you could rationalise it as people on the other side of the windows. On the train, you only see the shadowy features, and it’s otherwise empty, so no obvious figures casting them...

I guess if you choose the ‘don’t shoot’ option, Julia gets drained and it’s an early game over?

(I answered 1 and 3 in my recent post so I’ll skip to 5: how do your loved ones (LI, found family, etc) feel about you being a merc? or if you’ve given up the life now that everything’s finished, what was their reaction?  Ohh. Okay, well, for found family first, Vera grew very close to Panam, Judy, and River (I didn’t do Kerry’s quests yet with her, i got impatient to go to embers on my first playthrough ahfaiefjaf, she’s going here shortly on my second tho and I guarantee Kerry and her shall be bffs but I don’t know enough about his character to describe how he would feel regarding her merc work anyways i ramble). I think all are, in a way, accepting but gradually concerned regarding Vera’s mercwork. They accept it because V is clearly enjoying the work, is good at it, which lays rest to some of their concerns, but, mercs and civvies and gonks alike all drop dead in Night City on the regular. Wrong place wrong time is often enough, but V is actively seeking out those more dangerous people, places, and affairs and actively putting herself in the midst of it all, so there’s always that concern, especially from someone like River or Judy who actively live in the city and see the worst it has to offer.  Johnny, however, having a different perspective, is in her head while she runs these jobs. I imagine eventually Johnny is able to peak through with control every now and again and its likely saved her hide a few times too- a forceful shove back when peeping out woulda’ gotten her spotted here, a reflex with pistols and melee attack combos that she shouldn’t have. Vera definitely doesn’t like when people end up in her personal space and I think she’s the type to freeze unless she’s the one initiating the charge so Johnny has definitely forced her to react and push through that one second panic that can make or break you in combat before. Johnny ofc gets worried, but he knows better after the first few gigs I imagine to keep his trap shut and not distract her with concerned ‘V”s and mutterings of what to do in the situation because it just slows her down.  13: Hoo okay. So, I’m religious, in some capacity? I don’t know, I was raised catholic, but I don’t like organized religion and I’m also LGBT (hello cognitive dissonance!) so its been a Journey, so I don’t just wanna sit here and say “Hi I’m Catholic” cuz, well, catholics can be super judgy in the best of times. So when I say this quest made me uncomfortable, I 100 percent am not judging anyone who completed it/found it cool/found it interesting/any other opinions on it. However the Sinnerman quest had me fucked up. I did it up to the Crucifixion and couldn’t proceed simply because I didn’t feel comfortable doing it, but I did watch it on Youtube to see what happened, since there was like, that disconnect there, I guess? And based on how many actual button prompts there are, I’m glad I bailed when I did. This quest was super interesting, very thought provoking, and also allowed for a lot of roleplay opportunity for V in general. My V is similar to me religiously in that, she believes in God but not organized religion, but she also avoids thinking about it too hard. I also gotta’ give it credit since it does touch on religion which can be an uncomfortable subject for many on how many times it gives you an out- you can quit that quest at many points and I just appreciate the fact that its an idea and concept being explored and the writers understood that the nature of it might be upsetting to some. (I don’t do well with religious themes in general) And finally, number 23: assuming you’ve fallen in love over the course of your journey, what does your ideal life with your SO look like? (aka, what’s your canon ending with your favorite LI) Johnny. My brain parasite. So, my canon ending is The Secret Ending + Temperance (You’re V in Mikoshi instead of Johnny is the difference here). I enjoyed Vera’s story of slowly letting down her walls, learning to trust, learning to love, learning what leaving a legacy meant to her, and that legacy was leaving memories and love and goodness in those she held close. It meant helping Judy, Panam, River, (KERRY BB IM SORRY) and Johnny. She fell in love with Johnny, pure and simple, and the best thing she could do for him, given that she had no desire to live out the remaining bit of her life in pain both from the dying and from the Johnny shaped hole that would be left within her, was give her body, and thus a second chance, to him. And her trust wasn’t misplaced, even though she questioned it plenty throughout their journey, and I think wherever she is, she’d be at peace with that decision. However, FUCK CANON, Vera is an AMAZING Netrunner so she found a way to reach out to him and ofc Johnny threw down everything to save her, track down his own body, blah blah sci fi concepts and now they each have their bodies back and they’re in love and move a little ways outside of NC to be happy with Nibbles and Johnny keeps in contact with Steven and V gets to still see her found family (Misty, Vik, GORO, Mama Welles, River, Panam, Judy, KERRY BB IM SORRY) and they’re happy :)

hi! im thinking of getting the pathologic games, if you don't mind me asking, what are your favorite things about them (if you've played them already)?

Ohh boy okay so for ref I am only about to finish the first character’s route in the first game and have about 11 hours in the second but I think I can speak on it a bit. I’ll talk about it under the cut for the sake of people that don’t care lmao

Now I consider pathologic 1 and 2 as separate (but equally spectacular) entities even if they are imaginings of the same story but for the sake of brevity I’m lumping them together for this. 

 So for one, I think the main draw for me for sure is the atmosphere and story. The gameplay in itself involves a lot ( and I mean a lot) of walking to quests and trying to keep your stats maintained and men throwing knifes at you and tying to make sure the people you are meant to protect don’t get the plague which in hindsight can be boring but goddamn there’s something so haunting walking through a town that is slowly being consumed by a plague and having to run against the clock as you are desperately trying to stop it. I really recommend you use headphones when you play these games because the sound design is just peak and really gets you immersed right away. Additionally, the game tracks all time when you are not in dialogue and you will miss vital quests that are needed to finish the game if you don’t complete them in time and then your fucked. And when this happens, the game keeps going on and moving forward as if you are really someone who is trying to stop a mysterious plague in 12 days and not just playing a video game which is a great fuck you to anyone who has ever delayed main quests in a game to go do random side quests instead.

It’s also quite evident from the beginning that the town itself is deliberately set up to be strange not even with the impending doom of a plague, especially when you play as the bachelor. The people that speak to you talk in a very theatrical manner and have customs that seem odd but are written in a way that are so naturalistic to those npcs that eventually you as the player come to somewhat just accept what their customs are even if they are still odd to you. Even the bartering system is quite interesting in this way as you get to understand it and the needs of each specific type of character you come across. You realize it’s not as simple as I give you money and you give me things for charcters with the specific items you want, though there are stores for basic necessities like food.

Like I mentioned the gameplay itself isn’t anything to write home about but the writing makes you so curious on what started this mysterious plague and makes you keep playing despite how tedious it may get. There’s also the additional layer that you play as one of three characters (only for pathologic 1 right now though!) for each playthrough who are all trying to find an explanation and solution to the plague. However, it gets interesting when you realize that even when you don’t play those other characters, they still exist in the same universe that you are in and you interact with them as they try to follow their designated path whilst still being slightly worse than you as you aren’t controlling them. This means that the things that one character does during one playthrough that you may think are weird from an outsider’s perspective, creates an entirely different perspective when you play as them and understand their motivations. 

I don’t think it’s a game for everyone and I myself didn’t even buy it for a while even after starting a lp of pathos 2 last year cause I thought it was a little weird for my tastes but it’s honestly been one of the most engaging games I’ve played in a while. I could even go on with how the implications of the very first scene in pathos 1, even before selecting a character, is watching them act out a conservation on a stage discussing the roles they will play as even before the same really begins but smarter people have me already have so i will not dfhgdfhjgdshf. Even if the resource management is hellish, I keep finding myself playing it for hours on end and that’s honestly saying something. Now this is the part where I realize I rambled for far too long and drop a bunch of video essays and dip, peace.

I do plan on doing basic analysis on how I feel about things and interpret things. I am not a body language expert or an expert on human interaction, so pretty much it’d be me and how I deal with things myself or how I perceive things. @silver-wield @nibelheiim and @otp-oasis-heavenxearth Do some really good analysis on body language and psychology, among other things.

I can talk about my first impressions and things that I wasn’t expecting, here, though.. And it’s gonna be long, cuz I have a lot of thoughts.

So full disclosure - I was worried about FF7 Remake. I almost didn’t play it. I actually didn’t play it right away. I liked the OG a lot, but FF8 was my favorite. That being said, I still really enjoyed 7, so was anxious initially about the remake. I was worried they’d change too much, which I don’t deal with very well. 

My husband played it first. I’m definitely the FF stan in the family. I played a game in college where people would play FF songs and I could name them. I was fun, I know. I guess it worked cuz my husband stuck around. 

I wasn’t aware of the Love Triangle of FF7 between C-T-A. I thought it was pretty straight forward, even as a teen. Cloud was... well, Cloud, I didn’t get all there was to understand about that situation, but I didn’t see a lot of romance in FF7. Especially since I finished FF8 first. However, Aerith died... Tifa saves him in the Lifestream, and they go on their way. The ending was bizarre when he said he’d meet her and Tifa’s reaction also made no sense. But I didn’t think much of it - wasn’t the game with the romance, so I didn’t take it as such. The game also was riddled with translation errors. “This guy are sick.”

Anyway - Remake, I would glance at my husband’s play through and was amazed at times, but still being a stubborn dumbass, like I am. I think the few times I saw Cloti scenes I was like woahhhkayyy... I don’t remember this. I saw the pillar drop on his playthrough and cried when they showed Wedge. Like both of us wouldn’t look at each other cuz we both were losing it.

My first playthrough was truly played with no shipping goggles, because I didn’t own them yet.

So I decided to play. My kids were being total jerks and carrying on, so I was getting upset as I’m realizing I enjoy the game. The voice acting, battle system, environments, characters, I was like in shock and awe, and slipping back to being a young teen again playing FF for the first time.

Got to the Discovery Quest - Alone at Last. I mean, I saw the title of it and was like um okay... this seems suggestive. Then she tells you to come over after you’re done changing your filter. Ohh... okay... huh. Also noticed Cloud being jealous at times? That was new.

Cloud in general was different than he was in the OG. But I LOVED it. I loved how they did his character. It makes the battle of his persona much more intense and enjoyable. The SOLDIER!Cloud vs True!Cloud stuff. (I didn’t know these terms my first play through, I did notice his face changing a lot). At times, Cloud was a jerk in the OG (well, you could make him be a jerk, I suppose, he wasn’t all that bad). 

Alone at Last I was like “HOLY SHIT!” This is so suggestive! And this was before I heard... 

The Moan  (͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) 

I actually heard it on a YouTube video where somebody pointed it out. However I DID notice that Cloud asked her if she was sure she didn’t want a break at the end too... I got that one.  (͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

So anything heavy Cloti wasn’t even a though thinking about remake. At all. Not a wish or anything, I just didn’t think there’d be anything even close to it. Remake is actually what made me absolutely fall in LOVE with the Cloud x Tifa pairing. It is so damn wholesome and charged. Whenever that sexual tension breaks, it’ll be intense. I didn’t even know Cloud x Tifa was “Cloti” until I looked up “is the remake pushing Cloud and Tifa?” cuz I was that confused.

I got the resolution scene with Tifa on my first play through, only because I chose her first in the sewers. I did every quest, so I didn’t miss anything. Another thing I had spoiled by watching my husband play, I believe. Another thing I thought I must have been imaging. Especially when he stands there and I start going “wtf dude... ARE YOU GOING TO HUG HER?!” Phew, glad he did.

Jessie drove me nuts - I don’t do well with characters like her. I kept commenting that she wasn’t like this at all, at least not that I picked up on. I was thrilled when Cloud said “Are you seriously that desperate!?” because that’s exactly what I kept thinking. I didn’t like her death scene, I’m not sure if it was the dialogue or the way it was delivered, but I definitely got upset when Tifa was crying, cuz she just was breaking down emotionally as things go. Then Cloud’s reaction... phew. 

I ADORE BIGGS AND WEDGE, though. Wedge especially, since I’m also a cat lover. Biggs looking like Charlie Sheen had me laughing. 

Barret is amazing. I love the growing broness between him and Cloud. They start rough and end good. His relationship with Marlene is much more developed, and Marlene had a major improvement, I think, since she actually says quite a bit. 

All of the environments were gorgeous. Seeing Midgar as it should be seen and not a screen of dirt and buildings was incredible. Aerith’s house was insane. I definitely was in awe of that place when you first get to it. the skyline during the rooftop sequence was great. I cannot wait to see the rest of the game and those environments - like Cosmo Canyon, for example... 

THE MUSIC: Who else lost their shit when the third phase of Jenova Dreamweaver played J-E-N-O-V-A?! The jukebox was a pleasant surprise that I was iffy on at first, but ended up loving it. Stamp, Midgar Blues, On our Way, Tifa’s Theme (jazzy), and FREAKING SCARLET’S THEME. The Arsenal battle theme was one of my favorites.

And can we talk about Scarlet? Using a soldier as a foot stool and making him crawl around? Guess he took the whole Stamp thing to heart. Scarlet is such a nasty bitch, but I can’t help but love it. 

Aerith was greatly improved character wise for me over her OG version. I didn’t really like her... at all... in the OG. Not good with female characters that start shit with flirting. Just felt malicious at times (though as an adult I think she just was really immature). I ADORE THE FRIENDSHIP OF HER AND TIFA.

The new characters: Oh boy, change. 

BUT ANDREA!!! Andrea was amazing. I absolutely ADORE him. 

Madam M and Chocobo Sam were also pretty good. Leslie was great, and I hope we see more of what goes on with him. It’d be nice if he could be there to see Corneo die. 

Honeybee Inn was incredible.

Things I wasn’t a huge fan of:

Well, Chapter 8 was good on my first play through, but after that, I had a hard time with it. It’s slow. You have to walk, you have to wait a lot. So, I’d say the pacing on Chapter 8 is a bit slow for me. There’s not much “action” if you will. The scenery is good, though. 

Jessie... yeah, I know. A lot of people love Jessie. I just don’t - she’s too extreme with the quest to get laid. However, I did enjoy thinking about her and Biggs having a thing.

Almost done. But for this game, I won’t end it after I finish the Elite Four. No, no, no. Team Galactic has to end. Meaning, I’ll end this run once the whole Stark Mountain shenanigans is done.

An unavoid-... wait... GASP! It’s an HM that’s not THROWN AT ME! I had to actually FIND IT! ... I mean, it was kind of right there in the path to Snowpoint, but I could’ve technically missed it! That’s... 1/7 thus far. 1 HM that I COULD have missed, and 6 that I absolutely could not have possibly avoided.

Been there before. 135 cm tall, but... snow piled up to a meter. Trip on a small fence that you couldn’t see because of the snow, and... this pretty much happens.

For a moment, I thought I was going to battle him. And I was confused. “I don’t remember whuppin’ your ass in the other playthroughs!” ... But of course. Coward, I say! ... Is this why Rakutsu is his superior in BW2? He says that the player is far superior to him. So he gets another player character who is literally his superior.

Well... On my way to Spear Pillar. I’ve made the journey to Spear Pillar SO MANY FREAKING TIMES in the past that I still somehow remember exactly where I need to go. Heh...

Here’s my team thus far!

Frostbite the Ice/Dark type that doesn’t actually bite. Hasty. I actually went through the trouble of EVing this little f*ck. If I recall, a level 50 Weavile is supposed to have 172 Atk and 194 Spd with a +Spd nature. So it’s pretty close, but... not going to reach it. I think its Atk IV was like 14, and Spd was 24. Something like that. Ugh.

Huhuhuhahaha! ... Ugh. Naive nature. A Garchomp is supposed to have 182 Atk and 169 Spd at level 50 with a +Spd nature. ... So this is ass. A Naive Garchomp at level 50 should have... ... Don’t know the HP, but 182 Atk, 115 Def, 100 Sp. Atk, 90 Sp. Def, and 169 Spd. So I see that this thing ended up with EVs at Def and Sp. Def. ... Blech.

This guy’s holding Amulet Coin for now. It’ll soon go back to holding Draco Plate.

I don’t even use this thing anymore. It’s just a starter with soon to be four HMs for a moveset. I WAS going to give this Surf, Ice Beam, Flash Cannon, and Grass Knot. But it had to be Adamant.

So, Weavile has Strength, Garchomp and Rock Climb, Staraptor has Fly and Defog, and Empoleon has the other 4 HMs. Done.

Another one that I stopped using. Bold? BOLD? ... Your sole purpose now is Fly and Defog.

And of course, when there’s one...

There’s the other.

Timid Gardevoir and Hasty Gallade. I was going to nickname them as “Ruby” and “Sapphire”, but... which one’s which? Then I was going to call them as “Shield” and “Sword”, but... nah. Vanguard the Gallade that’s ironically not in the vanguard of my team, and Gardevoir, whose nickname suits its Dex data of shielding its trainer. ... I don’t want to look at their stats. They remind me too much of my first Ruby version run (Gardevoir) and my first Platinum version run (Gallade). SH*T stats.

But... that’s what I was prepared for when I started this run. I was prepared to feel the pain of horrible inefficiencies and sub-par stats.

Heh. Almost everyone’s holding a Plate because I dug up so many in the underground. Oddly, I did not find a Sky Plate for the bird. ... Meh. Whatever.

Hey, I remember this cave. It’s where you get Adamant Orb, Lustrous Orb, and a Stone Plate. ... Why a STONE Plate, though, I wonder? A Draco Plate suits the theme a lot better. ... Or all 16 Plates too, because why the f*ck not.

And hey, Spear Pillar! I can’t believe I remembered the exact path I needed to take to get here, despite YEARS of not playing a Sinnoh game.

Also, lovely flute pedestal. ... Too bad I don’t have the Azure Flute. Play the thing on the pedestal, which then plays the opening theme of Platinum version, and a golden staircase descends, allowing me to take it high above the Spear Pillar (while seeing through the stairs), all the way to Hall of Origin and battle a level 80 Arceus. ... If only this event was actually distributed. I’d have a shiny IV 31 all Arceus. ... Er... I’d have ANOTHER shiny IV 31 all Arceus. Curses.

But now that I’m here and about to get sucked into a wormhole, I think it’s a good place to stop.

...yes, yes i was. I love that game, I finally finished watching Mark’s playthrough and i just was crying towards the end. I get so caught up in it. I love the game so much too. I’m really glad he got the chance to play it!
