HP Sapphic Microfics: June Prompts
Prompts are written out at the bottom of the post
There is an optional extra challenge for this month, explained below!
Just like last months, these prompts can be taken and interpreted every which way you want, including changing the tense or pronouns or order of any dialogue. You do not have to stick with what might be the most straightforward association, and every individual prompt post will include a few suggestions to get you started.
All these prompts can be combined with other events (as long as they also allow you to combine prompts), such as @sapphicmarauding and @juneofdoom!
You are still allowed to write for any of May's (or even April's prompts, too!
The rules for this event can be found here, the previously submitted fics are all here and in this collection on AO3, and if you want to search them by ship you can do so here!
Extra Challenge: Ship Assignment
For this month, we are going to run an extra challenge within the event. This does not change how the rest of the event is run, if you don't participate nothing changes.
The rules are simple: fill in this form that asks for your likes and dislikes, and I will send you three rarepair femslash ships to choose from. You are challenged to write one microfic for this event (for the June prompts) for the ship you choose.
Additionally, you can select within the form to roll a d20 (a 20-sided die) and whatever number it lands on is the amount of microfics you are challenged to write for the chosen ship(s). For that die roll, you may choose to divide the number of fics over multiple chosen ships (chosen from the three I send you).
This is all for fun and to introduce even more rare femslash ships to the fandom: if you don't manage to complete the challenge after signing up that is completely fine, there are no hard feelings.

Sapphic Microfics is hosted by @hpsaffics, whose discord server holds a specific channel where these prompts and the incoming fics are excitedly discussed, so if you’re looking for people to talk about these and the rest of April’s prompts with, check them out! JUNE 2023 PROMPT LIST
This prompt list will be pinned to the top of the blog on June 1st. Feel free to add works to the AO3 collection.
So How Does This Work?
See a prompt you like? Go for it! Use it however you like and then @ us in your creation to be reblogged! The focus of this blog is jily so we ask that your micro be about at least one of the pair. But your fics can be told from any characters POV. Jily can be enemies, friends, lovers, you name it! Canon or AU. It's all up to you!
All we ask is that you try to limit your pieces to 3K words or less. These are just some tiny prompts to hopefully get your brain and creative side firing. For longer inspired fics tag @jilymicro-oops in your post!
There's no specific order or timeframe you have to follow, you can combine prompts if you like or not use them at all! It's all in the name of fun and fandom!

You can participate as many times as you want during the month

Please use warnings to tag content that may be triggering/disturbing to some users.
If your work is NS*W please label it as such and use appropriate warnings. Adult content should be hidden under the page break.
When possible, use page breaks to limit long posts.
You can get creative with the prompts. It can be a variation of the word and/or concept. It doesn’t have to be exact or literal. If the word inspires a train of thought that led you to something different, put that in the notes and send it in! Have fun with it! Make them work for you! The ultimate goal is just to find joy in creating!
If you want to participate in a day that has already past, that is fine, just note that in your post and I will still reblog it and then edit the masterlist for that day to include our post.

Things that roommates could argue about:
not doing the dishes
not caring enough for their pets
not repairing damage their pets did
about who can use the bathroom first in the morning
about the people they bring into the shared space
being too loud when they get in late or go out early
never going grocery shopping
eating all of their food
never doing their chores
music or TV is too loud
stealing the other person's clothes
regularly burning the food they try to cook
not paying rent on time or other bills
about what they will watch for movie night
one being a night owl and the other being an early bird
their partner basically living with them without paying rent

Heyo! It’s Wednesday my dudes, and here I am to once again shove some of my terrible words and colourful threads into your faces. Rejoice! And thanks to the weather finally warming up over here, I’ve been able to once again take my writing outside and do it in the fresh air instead of being cooped up in my room or the gloomy basement. And while most of my writing normally takes place in the evening when the sun goes down, just being outside again helps so much with the creative endeavors when it come’s to writing like my god. Though that may also be because I decided to start a new project instead of working on the others cause my minds been on that particular fic for the last couple of weeks oops. And while this is going to be another of those fics that only particular people are going to be excited for *cough*Kenzie*cough*, here’s a sneak peak for it anyways lol.
"Well, that was a bit, uh, unexpected. Good day?"
"The best day," she agreed breathlessly as she pressed her forehead against his, "I got the most amazing news."
Chris's eyes widened as his smile grew. "Wait, are you serious? Already?" Alright, not quite the word Ashley would have used considering they had been trying for nearly two years now at this point, but she let his frankly odd choice of vernacular go and eagerly nodded against his forehead in response. "Holy shit, that's amazing Ash! I can't believe that you heard back from someone so quick!"
...Yeah, she was completely lost. While they were normally on the same page for most things, this clearly wasn't one of them so she removed her arms from around Chris's neck and he let her drop back down to the floor. Once she was back on stable ground again, she looked up at him completely baffled. "Heard back from who? What are you talking about?"
Despite letting her drop back down onto the floor, while Chris's hold on her waist loosened he ever actually let go of her. Instead moving his hands so they rested on the swell of her hips. "Your book, Ash! It hasn't even been a couple of weeks and you've already heard from someone who's interested in it! Your agent said that it wasn't supposed to go to auction until the end of the month too! I'm so proud of you, I knew you could do it!"
Colourful threads time! Not a whole lot done cause there was no new cr episode for me to watch thursday night, but I did manage to complete my mid-tier fire bird so that’s an improvement! Crossing my fingers that I’ll be able to finish off this page entirely this week if I’m real lucky and quick!
