This right here is the face of a woman who has seen too much and is slowly planning her escape 😂 She also knows for a fact her husband has definitely had something to do with this…

i saw your reblog of the kiss prompt!!
what about 7, an 'i've missed you' kiss for our lovely juli & agustín! one of them has returned after a week away for something (maybe agustín visited family?)
I... feel the urge to write this in first person... so here we go...
*~*~*~*~*~*~*
It would be today.
I knew it was today.
We'd planned on him coming home today.
Even though it was six o'clock in the morning, I still looked out the window of the kitchen that faced the road into town expecting to see him walking toward Casita.
Agustín's mother had received a letter from her sister-in-law in the city saying that her brother was ill and refused to see a doctor. Being the sweet and caring man that he was, not to mention a mamá's boy - which I loved about him - he went on the three-day trek to the city. I'd sent him with enough small snacks to last him the three days to get there, the two weeks they would spend in the city, and then the three days to get back to the Encanto. Knowing him, he would go through at least half of the supply, but then there would also be enough in case anyone else needed it.
I nearly jumped out of my skin when I felt a hand on my shoulder. "Geez, Mamá, I'm sorry." Mirabel retracted her hand and held both up in surrender.
"Ay, I didn't hear you come in," I wiped my hands on the rag hanging from my apron. My brow furrowed, "What are you doing up already?"
She placed her hands on her hips and raised an eyebrow, "I should be asking you that. It isn't your turn today." She wasn't wrong. It had been two years since Casita was rebuilt and everyone but myself was in agreement on a cooking schedule. Having been irritatingly outnumbered, I had no choice but to follow it. This day was Mirabel's turn.
I sighed, "I couldn't sleep, and I thought I would just come down and get a start on it."
Mirabel squinted her eyes at me suspiciously and stood up straighter. She'd grown in the past two years and was now at eye-level with me. "I'll let you stay on one condition. You don't touch anything. "
"Mira I-"
"Nope. It's either that or you can watch for Papá through a different window." She crossed her arms and I suddenly felt as though I was looking in a mirror.
I crossed my arms and raised an eyebrow at her, "Mirabel Valentina Rojas Madrigal."
"Julieta Ana Rojas Madrigal," she countered. My jaw dropped and the smug look on her face said it all.
"This is a little unnerving..." Luisa said from the doorway. It wasn't a surprise that she was up, she was probably coming back from one of her morning runs. "If Mira didn't have glasses, I'd say you had an identical twin, Mamá."
I didn’t look away from my youngest daughter, “Ay, a non-identical sister and brother are enough. Tu batido is already made, mija. I made sure to put guava for added protein.”
“Thanks, Mamá, but... isn’t it Mirabel’s day to cook?” Luisa went over to the counter and picked up the fruit mix. She hummed with satisfaction. Everyone in the house made great smoothies for her, but she always said that no one made them like I made them. ‘A mother’s love,’ is what I always told her.
“That’s what I’ve been saying,” Mirabel said to her sister. Turning to look at her, she was distracted long enough that I could move to the flattop and flip another arepa. “Mamá!”
“It was going to burn!”
“Get out!”
“Perdóneme?” I put a hand over my heart.
“You heard me. Out! Now!” she got behind me and actually started to push me toward the door. “Lu, help me!”
Luisa sipped her smoothie, “No thanks. I choose life.” That’s my girl. Mirabel may have been most like me, but Luisa was all Agustín, through and through.
Mirabel actually managed to push me to the door, and Casita seemed to help. “Casita! E tu Brute?” A tile flipped in response as if agreeing with Mirabel. “I’ve been betrayed by my own house. This is my kitchen!”
“Mamá, we go through this at least once a month. When will you-” one final shove that got me through the door, “-get it!? There. Casita, you know the drill.” With those words, a door slammed in my face.
I huffed, knowing what I was about to say was far from a threat, “Young lady, you just wait until your Papá gets home!”
“What? Will I hug her to death?”
I spun around and any thought of literally being forced out of la cocina was gone from my mind. “Ay, amor,” I smiled and moved the few steps to throw my arms around Agustín’s neck, his arms fitting perfectly, as they always had, around my waist. I pressed a kiss to his lips, firm but gentle, longing but so familiar. We stayed that way for what could have been hours or seconds, we couldn’t tell.
When we finally parted, I stared into his eyes, his glasses set a little off center. I placed a hand on his cheek and ran my thumb over his skin, my eyebrows furrowed, “You’re skinny,” I complained.
His laugh was like the sound of a symphony, “Conejito, I’ve always been slim.”
“Sí, but you’re too skinny. Didn’t your Tia feed you?” I ran my hands down his arms and held his hands, looking him over.
“She did,” he nodded, “But nothing compares to what you make for me.”
Grossed-out noises came from the kitchen. “You locked me out, now this is what you get.” I went to go kiss my husband again, but he put a hand up in front of me.
“Allow me.” His voice was deep and he wiggled his eyebrows. Taking my chin between his forefinger and thumb he held my face as he kissed me. Then before I knew it, he’d picked me up in his arms, eliciting a squeal of surprise from me. He was always much stronger than he looked, and honestly not skinny at all... not when you got a good look at him... with no clothes on. “Vamos, amante, we have lost time to make up for,” he said before kissing me again.
Hacking noises came from the kitchen now. “You two are honestly so disgusting, sometimes,” Isabela said from the bottom of the stairs.
“Ah, I can’t help what your Mamá, brings out in me,” he said in response.
“Pa, gross,” Isa said.
“Maybe you’ll get another sibling?” he wiggled his eyebrows again.
A chorus of ‘Pa!’ ‘Eww, gross!’ ‘I’m honestly going to throw up!’
I raised my eyebrows, “I don’t know about that. We’re too old, Tïno.”
He laughed, “This family is full of the unexpected, Julieta.”
“Just go already!!” Isabela was shielding her eyes and not a second later, I was swept up the stairs and into our room. Safe to say I didn’t try to help with lunch or dinner that day...
*~*~*~*~*~*~*
This took forever, I’m so sorry! I have a few more of these asks in my inbox. I’m trying to work on them. Hope you enjoyed it.

Smallest detail in the world, but I need you all to know how obsessed I am with the way Gus wraps his arms around Juli in this family picture. All we see throughout the movie is him resting his hand on her shoulder (even though we get that sweet kiss at the beginning which I am so grateful for) and they are quite closed off with their affection.
He literally does not care here though and he just puts his arms around her and she rests her head against his and I cannot handle the love they have for each other 🥺

“Finding Friendship” Sneak Peek #1
The line had dwindled down and the couple stood in the shade of the umbrella, Agustín sharing his stories of just that morning after she’d left for the town square. He’d managed to fall down every stair in Casita on his backside and bruised his tailbone. “I’m fine of course, having used my personal emergency stash of candies that mi bella esposa made for me.”
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
I love them, so much!

In Another Life You Were Mine
Chapter 10: Converging Realities
Julieta's Perspective:
In the wake of the curse's revelation, our lives were fragmented. Panic gripped my heart as I woke up to a foreign reality. The world around me had changed, and I longed for the familiarity of our once-known life. Determination welled within me, and I vowed to find my way back to Agustín to reunite our love across the boundaries of this twisted reality.
Agustín's Perspective:
A sense of loss washed over me as I opened my eyes to an alien world. The bond with Julieta that had once felt unbreakable now seemed like a distant dream. But deep down, I refused to accept this changed reality. I had to find a way back to her to reclaim the love that defined us. With a resolve that burned within me, I set out to navigate this maze and reunite our fragmented souls.
Pepa's Perspective:
I felt profound loneliness as I woke up to an unfamiliar reality. My heart yearned for Félix, and I knew we were meant to be together. But the forces that tore us apart were relentless. Determined to bring our love back to life, I vowed to search for him, defy the odds, and find our way back to each other, no matter our challenges.
Félix's Perspective:
This twisted reality left me adrift, my heart aching for Pepa. I knew our love transcended any obstacle, and I refused to let this new world shatter our bond. With unwavering determination, I embarked on a quest to find Pepa, to restore the love torn from us. I would defy the odds and carve a path back to her, for our love was worth fighting for.
Together, we all awoke to a reality that bore no resemblance to the life we once knew. With separate paths before us, we understood that the key to reclaiming our love and true existence lay in finding each other. We would traverse this unfamiliar world, facing unimaginable trials and discovering our strengths. United by love, we would overcome the odds and bring our fractured realities back into alignment. Our journey had just begun, and with love as our compass, we would find our way back home.

I know this movie is recent-ish, but the lack of an Encanto series is still crazy to me.
Like, it doesn't even need crazy magical lore, it can be episodic, it's so simple:
Family dynamics not seen in the movie
Why doesn't Mirabel have a gift (theory of her being the next matriarch being the most obvious one)
Seeing the other rooms
Bruno's new interactions with the townspeople and the family
FERAL ISABELA!!!
Dolores and Mariano
Unexplored trauma with Dolores and Camilo, GET THEM THEIR SOLO SONGS!!!!
The dads' sides of the family
Abuela Alma trying to do better
Childhoods of the triplets
On that same note, how the couples met each other.
More on Alma and Pedro. Etc
And if you wanted new stuff, HAVE THEM OPEN THE ENCANTO TO LET MORE PEOPLE IN, new technology that Encanto doesn't have access to, new ideas and cultures - it can even bring drama if the new people try to do bad things and the family goes all x-men on them.
It's so many possibilities that if they never do it it's a damn shame.

These two screenshot comparisons are VERY telling. Now, before I start, I want to make it clear: This is not me calling the Madrigals "evil" or anything like that, it's just an observation. Kind of a sad one but still a simple observation.
In the first shot, we see all of them listening to Alma's speech. All of staring up at the matriarch with attentiveness and reverence; at the same time, huddling together in closeness and vulnerability - Luisa's hand on Julieta's shoulder. Julieta and Camilo holding each other, Isabela and Dolore holding one another, and Agustin holding onto Dolores' shoulder. We see that they are tight knit and close family that have zero qualms about being affectionate with each other. But, then something happens...
Onto the second screenshot, their closeness doesn't change but their attention and attitudes shift. Why? They just witnessed Mirabel (whose ceremony failed) agreeing to help Antonio to his door. And they don't smile at Mirabel's sweet gesture even after shock dissipates. All of their reactions are either shocked (Camilo, Dolores, Agustin), concerned (Julieta), quiet understanding (Luisa), or quiet disapproval (Isabela, when asked about her reaction Jared Bush confirmed on Twitter that Isabela made that face because she thought Mirabel was going to mess up Antonio's night).
And given how Mirabel was positioned with Antonio, she most likely noticed the reactions of her family. And even though it's not said, I think it paints a clear picture of something even Mirabel most likely knows but doesn't say out loud: For all the talk about familial love, the Madrigals don't have the highest respect for Mirabel. I am NOT saying they don't love her, but they don't fully respect her.
