#julie and her himbos
Flynn: On the scale from "Damn Daniel" to "Fre sha vaca do", how are you feeling?
Julie: In between "It's an avocado, thanks" and "how did you defeat Captain America", but as a solid answer I would say "I don't need a degree to be a coat hanger." How about you Reggie?
Reggie, unbothered: Probably "Road work ahead"
Luke, mad that he doesn't understand: I speak many languages, and this is none of them.
Alex, visable confusion: How does Reggie even know all this?

Phantom Carols
For the @jatp-adventevent prompt: What's their favourite Christmas song?
Day Twelve: Turn The Christmas Music On <-AO3!
The band was driving to get a tree for the studio when Alex groaned, reaching forward between the seats to twist the radio dial to another station.
“Hey, shotgun controls the radio, we all agreed!” Luke protests from his spot in said seat.
“Dude, that’s all well and good, but not when we have to listen to fucking Christmas Shoes,” Alex said.
“I normally am all for the sanctity of the shotgun rule,” Julie said. “But I’m with Alex here. Fuck that song.”
“What is it?” Reggie asked. “I don’t think I’ve heard it before.”
“How?” Alex asked.
“Usually I have my phone plugged into the speaker,” Reggie replied with a shrug. “Plus you guys know that I don’t listen to Christmas music unless it’s Kenny & Dolly. Or the occasional John Denver.”
“But they play it literally everywhere!” Julie stated.
“Which is why I wear headphones. I don’t celebrate the holiday, so I don’t have to put up with the terrible music.”
“Not all of it is terrible,” Luke comments. “You liked TSO.”
“Most of that is just rock guitars with a holiday twist,” Reggie argued. “But yes, I will admit to enjoying that, even if the concert you made me watch gave me a headache from the light show.”
“Anyways,” Julie interjected, “Christmas Shoes is an awful Christian song based on a book… and I think there’s a made for TV movie too? It’s about this boy who loses his mom on Christmas Eve and asks Santa for a pair of shoes so she can look nice for when she meets Jesus.”
Reggie gaped at that, and turned around to look at Julie, as if to ascertain she was serious. They were at a stoplight, thankfully, so she nodded gravely. “That’s fucking sick!” Reggie exclaimed.
“It’s grief porn,” Alex said. “And disgusting. My church loved it, tried to make it some uplifting thing, but it makes my skin crawl.”
“And I think you can all tell why I would hate it,” Julie piped up.
“Yeah, sorry Luke, you’re outvoted here. Shotgun rule of the radio is overturned if that awful drek comes on my radio,” Reggie said decisively.
“I don’t like it either,” Luke grumbled. “I was gonna turn it off myself before Alex got to it. But I suppose that’s fair. But I am so changing the channel because we’ve been listening to NPR for five minutes now.”
“Just plug my phone in and we can listen to some good old Kenny & Dolly,” Reggie said.
“No. No way. I am still in control, and I get to choose the music,” Luke stated firmly. “And there is no way we are listening to country while I’m in control.” He turned the dial until it settled back to the original station, the last strains of Nat King Cole fading out.
But then the next song started and everyone had to laugh when it was “With Bells On”, and Reggie started singing along, loud and obnoxiously, Alex and Julie grinning as they joined in. Luke scowled but made no move to change the station. He may not like country, but he would admit, deep deep down, that his friends did sound good while singing it.

don't think I'll ever get over how tickled I was watching JATP for the first time during Edge of Great and how Luke kept expecting Julie to interact with him in that special way during the song and she was trying so hard not to and they had him so intentionally want it and notice it not happening and keep trying to get it. like I think about that all the time. it was so juicy. so fun to be in agony for their lil teenage romance during one song in her driveway. Perfect Harmony was nice but. I need more delicious experiences like that in shows

I never noticed that in Wake Up it looks less like Alex, Reggie, and Luke happened to just enter the garage at that time and more like Julie’s music summoned them to her. Like some kind of foreshadowing to Stand Tall or smtg idk it’s been a long time

Mistakes were made and the GPP?
Willie was with Carrie and the Candis when they got the call. Well, Carrie got the call. They'd been doing each other's nails, not really watching Magic Mike except for the Good Parts. Kayla had gotten some fancy foaming face mask for them to try and it was ridiculous and fun. Willie wasn't sure if it actually did anything but he liked the way it poofed up.
"You what?" Carrie asked, pressing the phone to her ear. The foam was flaking off her face because of her frown. Uh-oh. "Fine. When my nails are dry. No, you sit and think about what you did."
"Uh-oh," Heather said, echoing Willie's thoughts.
"Do we want to know?" Kayla asked.
"The himbos got arrested," Carrie said, sighing. "They want me to come bail me out."
"I'll come with," Willie volunteered. Carrie drove scarily when she was annoyed. Also, she would totally forget to take pictures of them in jail to share in the group chat.
"Let them wait," Carrie said, leaning back to watch Matt Bomer shake his groove thang on stage. "Maybe that will teach them."
"Have you met them?" Kayla asked, which was a fair question.
By the time their nails were dry, their face masks were washed off and they got to the station, over an hour had passed. As Carrie paid for the bail, Willie had his camera ready. The hangdog expressions as first Reggie, then Alex, and then Luke came out were hilarious.
He wasn't expecting the last person.
"JULIE?" he shouted. "You got Julie arrested? And I wasn't even along for the ride? How could you?"
"Please don't take a picture," Julie begged. "If that somehow gets out to my Tía I won't be able to leave the house until I'm sixty." Even though she didn't even live at home anymore. Willie had met Victoria. She'd find a way.
"Well, we wouldn't want that," Willie said, because he wasn't an asshole. He put the phone away, opening his arms for a hug. Baby's first arrest was always a little scary. He remembered the first time he and Alex were arrested, the guy had been in tears. Julie burrowed into his cozy sweater, letting him wrap her in a hug.
"So what happened?" he asked.
"There was a cat," Reggie said like that explained it all.
"We thought it was in trouble," Alex added.
"We got arrested for trespassing," Julie mumbled into Willie's chest.
"Mistakes were made," Luke ended.
"You four owe me so hard," Carrie said. "I'm not doing the dishes for four months."
"That's fair," Reggie agreed. Luke shrugged, and Alex looked properly chastised. Julie nodded, still not coming up for air. Willie gently patted her head.
"How about we go home and you can tell us all about it," he suggested.
Eventually, the charges were dropped when Reggie sincerely described the owner's cat back to them, down to the little black spot under its eye, and they realised that the four really had just been trying to help. Turned out Fluffy was kind of a murderer, and the blood on her paws had definitely not been hers but some poor squirrel or something.
And Julie's mugshot ended up on the fridge with the others, though carefully hidden whenever Victoria would be over. After all, Willie didn't want to miss her until she was sixty.

Ayo fantoms.
I know that the fandom is dying if we’re not already dead, but can we please have one last clowngate?
June the 7th. Write fics, make fanart, make memes, stream the show on Netflix. If you can’t do any of this just reblog like your life depends on it. Do whatever you can. Let’s at least try to make it to Tumblr’s top three.
This gives us about 2 weeks to prepare.
Oh... and tell your friends.

I wish you would write a fic where...Julie and the band play a D and D campaign with POV from both the table top and within the game world.
Gonna preface this by stating that I have never once in my life played D&D, so I hope this is okay.
If you asked Julie what her idea of a fun Friday night activity was, playing Dungeons and Dragons with her ghost band was not anywhere on her list. But Reggie had found his dice in a hidden pocket of his old knapsack, and once he turned the pleading puppy dog eyes on her, she was helpless to say no. They didn't have a gig, so Luke shrugged and agreed.
"As long as I get to be the bard."
"Dude, you always play the bard," Reggie replied. "At least spec into melee or something."
"Excuse you, my lute is not meant to be used as a weapon!" Luke argued back.
"It was during our first play through when you rolled a one in charisma and musical talent," Alex snarked. "Also I call wizard. Reg you still rocking the rogue role?"
"As always," Reggie grinned, waggling his eyebrows and making Julie giggle. "Julie, I think you're gonna like the cleric role."
Julie shrugged, not really caring one way or another. She was pretty stoked her character got a bow and arrow, but she also still didn't really get how this game worked, so just accepted whatever role Reggie handed her.
Once everything was set up, Reggie smiled, and started. "We start our tale in the land of Galatea..."
~
"Are you sure we're going the right way?" Luke asked as they trod down the worn path, lodging his chin on Alex's shoulder.
"For the hundredth time yes. I do know how to read a map you know," Alex replied, rolling his eyes and shoving Luke backwards.
"Are they always like this?" Julie asked, scanning the trees for wayward bandits, only spying Reggie skulking amongst the branches.
"Pretty much," the rogue replied, then lifted a finger to his lips, shushing the party. A distant snap of twigs on the ground, a group of voices, and the distressed sounds of a creature in pain. "Marauders," Reggie said with a grimace. "Probably hunting stag again."
Julie hissed at that. "The dryads are gonna be pissed."
"So we go help them," Luke concluded. "Beats wandering aimlessly looking for a mythical library."
"We aren't lost!" Alex protested. "But yes, helping animals is always a good idea. Then the dryads shelter us the next time we're in a scrape."
The party crept towards the voices, staying in the shade, until they came upon the clearing. There was a small band of ruffians, sitting around a fire sharing ale. But Julie had to stifle a gasp when she saw what the crew had captured. "I-it's a unicorn."
~
"A unicorn? Really?" Alex asked.
"I like unicorns," Julie insisted. "What, would you rather they had captured a chimera or something?"
"A wyvern would have been cool," Luke piped up, but shrunk under Julie's glare.
Reggie let out a subtle cough. "It's Julie's first time, so she gets to choose. Unicorn it is."
Alex let out a tiny whip like sound, and then winced when he felt a harsh kick to his calf, Julie looking oh so innocent as she waved back to their game. "Fine, let's go rescue the unicorn."
~
"By my count there are ten of them," Reggie whispered. "I could probably take out three, maybe four if I'm fast enough with my blades."
"I only have a few throwing daggers left, but that should be enough to take out a couple of them," Luke offered.
"My quiver is full, but they'll scurry after the first arrow," Julie stated.
"I can get the rest," Alex said confidently, a small flash of electricity dancing at his fingertips.
The plan set, they all took their positions, and Julie knocked her bow, aiming for the largest brigand, figuring Reggie could go for some of the smaller lackeys. Her arrow flew true, landing right in the man's neck, causing him to gurgle blood and fall over as the rest of the camp erupted into chaos.
Reggie dropped down from his perch, slashing away with his large knives, while Luke tossed a dagger at another thief, managing to pin him to a tree.
~
"Should have spec'd into dexterity dude," Reggie said with a giggle.
"Shut up, shut up, shut all the way up," Luke grumbled. "Can I deck him and knock him out?"
"Roll for damage and luck."
Luke stuck his tongue between his teeth and tossed the dice. A five and a two."Fuck you!"
"You manage to clip his chin, but it only pissed him off. Worse you do more damage to your knuckles as you hit the tree. I advise you run away, or stab him."
"With my luck I'll end up giving him a paper cut, I run," Luke grumbled.
~
Alex shot lightning at the man pinned to the tree, giving Luke a smug grin as the bard scowled at him. He made quick work of the next few rogues, but had to stop when he felt a blade at his throat. "Don't move or you'll regret it," the marauder hissed.
The boys all froze, eyes on Alex, the dark figure holding him at knife point. But then Reggie's eyes flew to where Julie was creeping forward, a gleam in her eyes as she tapped the man on the shoulder, causing him to drop his blade and turn. Julie gave him a subtle wave and then socked him in the face, causing him to drop to the ground as she blew over her sore knuckles.
~
"What? How?" Luke asked, incredulous.
"I rolled a natural twenty," Julie replied, smiling wide. "What like it's hard?"
"That's my girl!" Reggie whooped.
"Next time I am totally inviting Willie to play," Alex grumbled as Julie and Reggie made heart eyes at each other and Luke pouted. "Hey, love birds, don't we have a unicorn to save?"
"Unless you're tired Jules, we can stop," Reggie offered.
Julie hummed and shook her head. "No way, I am having a ball! Now let's go save the unicorn!"
