If I had a nickel for every time I got into a show that featured a blond, Mid-American farm boy commanding a monumental spacecraft with the help of his half-Human, half-alien spouse for whom he is a Total Himbo, I'd have two nickels.
Which isn't a lot, it's just weird that it happened twice.

Februfluff Day 2: Long Walks — Babylon 5
When he first came to the Babylon 5 station, Captain John Sheridan had made a goal to walk every corridor, every inch of the space. He quickly realized how implausible that was.
“It’s only five miles long,” he argued, but Garibaldi shook his head.
“Five miles long, and riddled top to bottom with secrets. Stay in the public areas, and let me do the snooping,” the security officer urged.
Much to Garibaldi’s dismay, Sheridan did no such thing. Every time he had the chance, the captain could be found strolling through the corridors, learning the names and races and species of those he encountered.
As time passed, the inhabitants of Babylon 5 began to notice that the captain was no longer alone on his long walks. Ambassador Delenn of the Minbari began to join him—at first only rarely, then with increasing frequency.
“They’re walking together again today!” a small child hissed one afternoon, louder than she’d intended. Delenn heard, and glanced up with a smile to see that the captain had evidently heard as well. He smiled warmly after the little girl, and then looked down at her.
“Have I told you, Ambassador, how much I appreciate your company on these walks?” he asked formally, a twinkle in his eye.
“You have not,” Delenn returned with equal formality, though she allowed her smile to show. “I, however, have enjoyed them very much.”
John reached out and took her hand in his, grinning like a boy.
“So have I,” he said warmly. “Very much.”
They always walked together, after that.

While browsing and feeding my fixation, I found this very endearing site from way back in the day - the character analysis essays are really rather excellent.
