(Spoiler and Red Hood interrogating an annoying criminal [no, not the Riddler... This time])
Criminal: I'm tellin' ya, no lie!
Spoiler: I don't believe you. Start telling the truth.
Criminal: I'm serious!
Red Hood, pulling a gun out: Tell us!
Spoiler: I'd tell him. My partner here isn't in a very good mood. If I were you, I would talk, because he looks very close to stealing your bones.
Criminal: Stealing my bones!? What the fuck!?
Spoiler: Yeah. I mean, it's the Red Hood. Haven't you heard of him putting heads in a dufflebag? I've seen his bone collection, and I've seen how he gets those bones. Honestly, not pretty.
Criminal: Okay! Jesus fuckin' Christ I'll tell ya everything! Just let me keep my bones!
Spoiler, perking up: Thank you very much!

JaySteph Halloween
One-Day Event - October 31, 2023
Official Prompts List
For maximum flexibility, our prompts this year are 3 categories. You can choose any of the suggested fills under a category or create your own fill that fits within a category. (Ask if you’re not sure!)
Our 3 prompt categories are: Halloween Tropes, Spooky Locations, and Supernatural Characters
You can use a single category for your work, or combine categories. Your work only needs one fill from one category, but you’re free to use more!
Your work DOES NOT have to be about Halloween, or be spooky in anyway! You can write a non-spooky prompt fill using “disguises” for a mission fic, for example, or write a fic about grief using a graveyard as the setting.
Your work must be JaySteph-centric and brand new
Your JaySteph can be platonic, romantic, or NSFW
We don’t allow JaySteph-poly ships to keep the focus solely on JaySteph as a duo, but side poly ships are fine.
You can co-create for any other event (Whumptober, BATober, Year of the OTP) but you can’t drop your JaySteph work early
Please read the Rules and FAQs
Send an Ask with any questions!
Please reblog to help spread the word!

How to Post
We will do a more detailed how-to post closer to the event, but basically you can post on either Tumblr or AO3 (not until the event day, tho!) We will have an AO3 collection for the event works. We’ll post the specific instructions the week of the event.
This is a censorship-free, ship-friendly event open to all. We will have blog tags in place for those who need to filter out certain content so that the event can be accessible to all regardless of triggers.

(Sunlit-Fields) What part of JaySteph is your favorite?
Without going into a long post about why I think they're great in general and doing my best to stick to the question, my favorite part is:
The possibilities.
I love how I and my fellow JaySteph fans (writers, artists, and other creators) have the potential to almost create our own "canon" because most of it is just fanon at this point.
In canon they've only had a few panels together (outside of Wayne Family Adventures, to which there are many), and I think that allows us to really explore the 'What if...?' of it all. There's definitely a bond or friendship there from their few shared panels, especially within the last few years (and from WFA), but most of it's implied or something that has been developed "off-screen". Obviously, someone (the writers or editorial) sees something there as well, but maybe it is just a friendship or the potential for something more? So far (as of this post), we don't know.
Also, unlike some ships which are just, "hey, these two people are in a panel together. Ship it!" (which is fine btw), we have a few ingredients to work off of from their limited interactions, but the rest of it is left to the imagination. Are they just good friends? Are they insta-love or slow-burn? Is it long-term romance, love for now, or FWBs? Do they make each other better or worse? Who fell first and who fell harder? Who are they when they're with each other and is that different than who they are with the others? CAN they be different with each other than they are with others?
So many possibilities and I think that's what really drew me in because it allows me to play in the Batman sandbox, but also stretch my creative legs and explore something that's not so concrete. Plus, I really enjoy all the various ways that my fellow JaySteph fans explore those possibilities as well. It's a fun ship and they're a fun pair to write.
Thanks for the ask. 😊
