Then you walked to Azul's office, ignoring Floyd's laugh and the sounds of his fists hitting the other guy's face. You were used to things like that happening frequently but it did bother you that this was the only way for people to behave. The only way to correct their behavior, as this wasn't gonna happen if he wasn't harassing you and making uncomfortable comments about you.

The screams of pain and the smell of something burning was all you kept in your mind as you sat in Azul's office, Jade putting a glass of water on your hands for you to drink before seating by your side.

But before any plans could be made, Floyd barged into the office, his once-white shirt now stained crimson. As he always did, a wide grin stretched across his face, sending shivers down your spine.

As Floyd entered, we could see he was carrying a battered bag in one hand and clutching his side with the other. "He won't bother you anymore, Shrimp. I've made sure of it, ehehe."

Though he tried to maintain his calm and cool demeanor, the way he looked at you betrayed the fact that he was as giddy as a teenage girl.

You asked to meet Jade after a class you had together and you met him in one of the empty school hallways.

He smiled the whole time as he watched the way you anxiously confessed to him. “I accept your proposal, I’d love to go on a date with you. Though it was fun watching my dear prefect blush at every little action I did.” He mused, placing his hand to his chest. He loved seeing your reaction, even now.

“Y-you knew? How long did you know?” You stumbled out.

“I imagine the whole time, it was quite obvious.” He said to you with a tilt to his head. This man would be the death of you but at least you knew he shared the same feelings you did!

Floyd Leech

“Awww shrimpy came to my basketball game! You’re so cute~” Floyd teased with that same tone in his voice that made you wanna turn into a puddle. He squeeze your cheeks with his fingers while giving you a toothy grin.

“Um, Floyd-“ you could barely say before he finally decided to stop pinching you, “I came because I wanted to tell you that, uh well, I like you, like as more than friends.” you were met by a brief silence before you gave you as big wide-eyed smile. He hugged you and picked you up with a big squeeze which made you feel like you could pop.

“Oh shrimpy you’re so cute! I wish I could squish you like a bug!” He laughed while he continued squeezing you and swinging you around. He still reeked of sweat and rubber from his game. Your face flushed and your heart sank, was he making fun of you? Did he not like you back? He finally put you down, still smirking but the look dropped when he noticed your sullen expression “what’s wrong?”

“You just- do you like me back?” You questioned sadly

“Mmm I don’t know, if I didn’t like you would I do this?” He quickly grabbed your face and placed a quick kiss on your lips that made your heart race before he began to laugh again “Ahaha! Shrimpy you’re almost as red as that goldfish!”

You knew your blush was undeniable but even though he was teasing you you couldn’t help the big smile that spread over your face.

Sweeter Than Whipped Cream

A tiny, 612 word Jade x Yuu fic inspired by Jade’s birthday jacket card.

I know it’s not even close to his birthday anymore, but I was staring at the groovy art recently— as one does— and happened to imagine this cute little scenario and thought I might as well put it into writing and share it with all of you!

Characters: Jade Leech, Yuu, Silver, Floyd Leech (mentioned only briefly as “the other birthday boy”), and a crowd of ambiguous party goers

Includes: established relationship, PDA, They/them pronouns for Yuu, and Yuu being shorter than Jade

“That’s it for the interview,” Silver said, folding the list of questions and slipping it into his pocket. “Next up is…”

Yuu adjusted their grip on the ghost camera as the Diasomnia student delicately picked up the paper plate piled high with whipped cream from the nearby table.

“The main event that wraps it all up— the ‘good-luck’ gift, correct?” The birthday boy said, remaining perfectly unfazed.

“Precisely. Are you ready, Jade?” Silver asked.

“Of course,” he replied with a smile. “I’ve been eagerly awaiting this moment. Please, don’t hold back in the slightest.”

A smile tugged at the corners of Yuu’s lips as well. They had gotten rather good at reading their boyfriend’s emotions in the time since they had started dating, and they could tell his words were genuine. Jade’s playful and fun-loving nature had been a big part of what made them fall in love with him, so they were equally excited to see this go down.

“Alright. I’ll fulfill my duty as interviewer with my full strength,” Silver said, with all the formality of a proper knight. He drew back his arm and took a breath in. Yuu raised the camera, finger poised over the shutter-button. “Happy birthday—,“ the pie was thrown, “Jade!!”

Yuu captured the moment impact— the birthday boy standing perfectly still and composed as the plate of whipped cream collided with his face, cream flying in all directions— and continued snapping photo’s of the aftermath. Cheers rose up from the crowd of party goers, the other birthday boy being the loudest among them.

Jade caught the plate as it fell, leaving a mess behind on his face and the front of his nice, new jacket. A wide smile broke through his gentlemanly façade, which only crumbled further as he began to giggle, lifting the back of his free hand to his mouth in a poor attempt to hide.

Yuu’s heart fluttered in their chest as they captured that perfect shot. Then they lowered the camera and sighed lovingly. Even someone as shameless as their boyfriend could still be the tiniest bit embarrassed at being the center of attention, and it was yet another thing they adored about him.

“Here’s a towel to wipe off your face,” Silver said, stepping up to Jade and offering said towel.

The birthday boy chuckled, setting the plate on the nearby table. “One moment, Silver,” he said, then turned to face his partner. “Yuu.”

“Hm?”

A mischievous glint shone in his dual colored eyes and he smiled while leaning down closer. “Would you still be willing to kiss me even in this state?” He asked, equal parts teasing and hopeful.

The corners of the prefect’s smile twisted in amusement, even as their cheeks flushed. “Oh, come here!” they said, lifting their hands to pull their boyfriend’s face closer.

Their lips met for only a brief second and another cheer rang out from the crowd, this time with a couple wolf whistles mixed in.

Jade stood back upright, wearing his biggest grin yet, and Yuu giggled while wiping whipped cream off the tip of their nose.

The birthday boy finally accepted the towel from Silver, who was looking just a tad bit uncomfortable, and attempted to hold it out to his partner, but they shook their head.

“You need it more than I do.”

Jade smiled. “I figured you would say that, but I had to at least offer,” he said, finally beginning to clean himself up.

Yuu smiled as well. “I know,” they said, with warmth in their voice. Their boyfriend’s gentlemanly side was just was sweet as his playful one. And combined he was truly sweeter than whipped cream. <3

"Should I bring my resume?" You asked Azul, eyes filled with curiosity.

You had your first interview scheduled to today but was ensure what to say or how to act. So of course you asked your best friend how to do things since he was Mostro Lounge's owner.

"Should I, like, shake their hand? But what if they noticed how my palms are sweaty? What if I stutter?" You were anxious. The job was good so you wanted to get it. And while you listed any and every horrible thing that could happen, Azul was smirking internally.

It was the same smile he smiled when he was about to trap his prey. He looked at Jade and Floyd who were wearing smiles that matched his. Then he turned to you, calmly appeasing you by holding your hand. In other times he would had blush for sure, but he had grown used to affection when it came to you.

"My pearl, you don't need to bring a resume, I can assure that they already have all your information, right Jade?"

The mentioned eel nodded, adding. "Plus sweaty hands means a worker has a strong hand and therefore are very trustworthy. You don't have to worry if you're too strong or too weak."

Floyd giggled mischievously, winking his eyes at you. "Best part is that you can wear your most comfy clothes, ah~"

"You're sure?" Floyd nodded. Then you also smiled. "Great then I'm going to wear my baggy shirts and some pants."

Deciding you had enough, you kissed Azul's cheek then Jade and Floyd too, leaving Azul's office as you had to prepare and leave for the interview. Unbeknownst to you the trio high fived between them.

"We don't have any openings for shrimp?" Floyd asked his brother, kicking his feet at the prospect of working with you. "I know I squeezed an annoying big the other who quit."

Azul pondered then smiled. "Of course, we have some openings for waiters, kitchen helpers, but this requires them to interact with a lot of people. Yuu should become my assistant instead."

Jade rolled his eyes. "You just want them for yourself."

It was true, Azul couldn't deny it. Not that he needed because his tweels also did want you all to themselves. The annoying guys, they were! Azul smiled.

"Well can you judge me?"

Nobody answered. Instead they think about you, about how you're going to fail your interview, about how sad you're gonna get and how they gonna comfort you.
