i don't know if anyone has pointed this out before, but in jab tak hai jaan, meera stays away from samar because she thinks it was her actions that caused his accident and almost got him killed. and then before all that happened there was the song heer. where she says don't call me heer because i am sahiban and my mirza will take me away. in the story of mirza sahiban, mirza gets killed in the end because he could not retaliate the attack by sahiban's brothers because sahiban broke his arrows to save the lives of her brothers. she cannot bear the pain of mirza dying because of something she did and decides to join mirza in death. meera shares sahiban's guilt here. foreshadowing?
