please write established (maybe married) buddie on a call and oblivious buck getting hit on, jealous eddie "excuse me, he is married. to me"
loooove your fics
read on ao3
Eddie's barely paying attention to the patients he and Hen are caring for. They're both fine, really, and were sitting on the sidewalk when the 118 got there so Hen and Eddie went to work while Buck and Chimney dealt with the fire. He's too busy watching Buck fight each car flame with expert efficiency. He's laughing with Chimney, head thrown back as they spray the chemicals with the precision of two firefighters who had a bond like brothers-in-law.
It's times like these where Eddie remembers exactly why he fell in love with Buck. He finds joy in any situation, good or bad, whether it directly impacts him or not. Even the two patients seem amused by his carefree joy, and who is Eddie to blame them? Buck won him over that way.
"Since I'm all checked out, can I go take a closer look at the damage?" his patient asks. She's only got a small laceration on her arm, presumably from a piece of shattered glass, but is otherwise unscathed. She's fine to walk, but he's a little confused about what she thinks might be left.
"Yeah, sure. Buck!" he shouts. Buck turns around immediately, the smile widening on his lips. "She--"
"Beverly," his patient interrupts with her own shout.
"Beverly wants to take a look. You good?"
Buck nods his head and puts the fire extinguisher down onto the pavement. Eddie should notice the way Beverly practically rushes over, somewhere between a skip and a saunter, but he's hyper-aware of how close the end of their shift is.
He's got Abuela cooking dinner at home and three off-days in a row to spend with Buck, their first since they got married a few months ago.
(Eddie wanted to take a honeymoon but Buck wanted to take a page out of Bobby and Athena's book and wait a little while. Eddie had to nix the cruise idea almost immediately, even though he can't believe Buck even asked.)
He just wants to clean up, restock the ambulance for the next crew, then spend the next three days with his family.
But of course, nothing is ever easy for Eddie. Not with a husband like Buck.
"Ugh, this is just my luck. My boyfriend broke up with me yesterday and my friend was just trying to cheer me up with a drive." Eddie can practically hear a pout of her lips and makes eye contact with Hen who rolls her eyes playfully in return. "I can't believe I'm single and carless, now."
"I'm sorry, that really sucks," Buck says. He sounds so authentic, Eddie's heart clenches.
"You might be able to help me with one of those problems," she shamelessly says.
Buck, the beautiful man he is, barely notices the flirtation. "We have a phone in the ambulance you can use to call someone to pick you up!" He's like a puppy in his response, and Beverly deflates instead of praising him like he clearly deserves.
"I can find a way home." She pauses like she's trying to think of how to get him back on track. Eddie snorts because he's been trying to figure out how to do that for almost a decade now. "So, do you live around here? There's a lot of really cool restaurants I can recommend for when you're done with your shift."
Eddie has to give her credit for some really solid attempts.
"Our station is actually on the other side of town and I live in the opposite direction, but I'll keep that in mind if I ever find my way out here!"
Beverly sighs and glances at her friend for assistance, who is next to no help since she's still in shock, like Beverly really should be.
"So, you're at station 118 then?" he hears Beverly ask. Her voice is so obviously flirtatious that Buck has to have noticed.
"Uh, y-yeah. 118, that's us," Buck mutters, tone laced with nerves.
Eddie glances over at the stutter and sees Beverly much closer than even Eddie would be to him on a call. His eyes narrow but he stays put. Buck can take care of himself.
"I bet you can lift that much, too, huh?" Beverly makes a dire mistake, and that's to reach out toward Buck. "I'm only 115, so it'd be pretty easy for you to... you know, lift me, right?"
Hen mutters, "Uh oh." It's loud enough for her patient to ask what's going on, but Eddie doesn't wait for her answer. He does hear Chimney's practically diabolical laughter, and Buck's awkward throat clear.
"I just weighed in at 190 and most nights he lifts me with ease, isn't that right, Buck?"
Eddie almost wishes he'd been recording. Beverly's mouth drops comedically open before her hand slaps it back up, Chimney and Hen break into maniacal laughter that seems to break the other patient from her shock, and Buck blushes a deep red that disappears under his turnout and as far down as Eddie's sure Beverly was trying to get.
Just because he can, Eddie adds, “Though, I’m sure after we take our honeymoon, you’ll gain a lot of muscle during our… workouts.”
“Jesus–” Buck breathes out. “It was great to meet you, Beverly. You said something about having a way to get home?”
“Yeah, I’ve got a ride…” She turns to Eddie, a delightful smirk on her face. “Though, it’s not nearly as pretty as yours.”
Buck’s a mess as Eddie bursts out in laughter, and he’s positive his team’s about to file a complaint to HR, but something about being able to stake his claim over Buck so openly now makes him giddy inside.
Yeah, it's times just like these where Eddie remembers exactly why he fell in love with Buck.

20 for those kiss prompts!
#20: ...on a scar
Bucky's arm hurts.
It always does on days like this, rainy and cold and gloomy. His shoulder starts to ache and the fingers he no longer has begin to itch. His prosthetic, light as it is compared to the old one, feels like it's weighing his entire body down.
He goes about his morning slowly, shuffling from the half full pot of coffee Sam made before his run over to the couch and burrowing himself under the blankets. He turns on a trashy reality show, something about a group of moms trying to date younger men from a pool of all their sons that Joaquín and Kate have been making jokes about for weeks.
It doesn't much keep his attention, as ridiculous as it is, and he spends the next half an hour or so barely watching and debating the merits of leaving his shoulder free of his prosthetic today.
He decides it's probably a good idea about a minute before Sam walks through the door, soaked through from his run but grinning a mile wide. "Mornin', baby. Jay and Kate got you watchin' that MILF show again?"
Bucky rubs at his shoulder but still smiles at Sam, hoping it doesn't look too much like a grimace. "I've never been more confused by the interests of the youth."
Sam carefully sets his water logged tennis shoes on the rubber mat by the door, and grabs the towel he'd left nearby to dry off just enough to not drip all over their floors. Bucky just stares as he dries off, always happy to indulge in his favorite form of birdwatching, and keeps a steady massaging pressure on his shoulder.
When Sam judges himself sufficiently dry, he immediately walks over to the couch rather than towards the hot shower he should be bolting for. He nods at Bucky's shoulder. "Need some help there?"
Bucky rolls it gently and shakes his head. "That can wait. You need to take a shower first, Sammy. Get warmed up. Can't have Cap in bed with pneumonia."
Sam jerks his head lightly in the direction of their bedroom. "Gotta wait for the water to heat up anyway. And a little bit of running in the rain isn't gonna give me pneumonia, baby," he says, pulling Bucky up from the couch and failing to hide his shiver. "You worry like a mother hen."
Bucky follows behind him to the bathroom mostly because he knows arguing will only keep Sam out from under the warm spray for even longer. He goes about turning on the water to Sam's preferred temperature as Sam strips off each article of wet clothing one by one, wincing a bit as the waterlogged fabric clings to his skin.
Bucky waits until he hears the loud, wet clop of each article hitting the floor before turning away from the shower and back towards Sam. He makes a show of looking him up and down and smiling as wolfishly as he can muster, but Sam just chuckles and rolls his eyes in response before walking up close to him.
He leans down and presses the lightest of kisses to the spot where Bucky's arm meets his shoulder, barely brushing his lips over the scarring, before pulling back. He waits.
"Help me take it off?" Bucky asks, the ache a little too strong to really ignore now, and Sam just nods, carefully going through the motions of releasing the arm and setting it aside gently, the way he's done countless times on countless days like this.
The mirror starts to fog up, and Bucky reaches his right arm into the shower to test the water, nodding when he finds it sufficiently warm. He shoves off the sweats and the briefs he's wearing and kicks them both to the side.
"Come on," he says, lightly grabbing Sam's wrist and tugging him towards their shower. "Gotta make sure you get warm, sweetheart."
He steps in first, and keeps a hold of Sam's wrist as he follows to guide him immediately under the warm spray. He doesn't reach out to grab any soaps or lathers just yet, just pulls Sam close and loosely wraps his arm around his waist, holding them both under the water at least until Sam's shivers stop.
It's easy enough to tell when Sam's sufficiently warm by the way he cuddles in closer to Bucky's embrace, no longer trying to hide his light trembling with distance. Bucky grabs Sam's soap and a soft washcloth from the caddy hanging behind him. Sam presses another light kiss to the scarring on his shoulder.
Bucky's arm hurts just a little less.
send me a ship and a number and i'll write a kiss!

Jobs with the Haikyuu boys
includes: Bokuto Koutarou, Suna Rintarou, Ushijima Wakatoshi
genre: fluff
——————
Build-a-Bear Bokuto
a summer job wasn’t how you wanted to spend your break from school
but bokuto koutarou working in the store across from you is certainly a plus
you frequently get distracted bc you’re much more interested in watching him interact with the kids than selling bath and body products to customers
this boy has your entire heart
it’s so obvious that he loves what he does
he gets so excited to make the stuffies “come alive”
your favorite days tho are the ones where he comes in to buy perfume to spray for the kids’ stuffies
he’s so precious
y’all share your lunch breaks together <3
You’d just finished directing a customer to a specific scent when you felt a tap on your shoulder. You turned around and found yourself standing in front of the ace and captain of your school’s volleyball team.
“Oh, hey, Bokuto. Need more perfume already?” You could feel your face redden just by talking to him. You’d been crushing on him since the first time you attended one of his games.
He chuckled, “Yeah, it actually seems pretty popular. Can you get the one I bought last time?” He looked so hopeful, as if you would say no. 1. How could anyone say no to him? And 2. It was literally your job.
“Of course, of course.” You immediately knew which one he wanted. You’d been the one to recommend it, afterall. Kids tend to like sweeter things and there was no sweeter scent than vanilla sugar. He brightened up immediately that you remembered the one he was talking about. It was on brand for Bokuto to not know the name of the scent he sprayed numerous times a day. You couldn’t lie though, you were kinda glad about it because it meant he had to talk to you.
He beamed when you had successfully navigated through the crowded store to the shelf with what he wanted. “Yes! Thank you so much, Yn!” He plucked one off the shelf before engulfing you in a hug and making his way to the register.
You didn’t see Bokuto again until your usual lunch meetup in the mall food court. He was running late, but that wasn’t really out of the ordinary so you decided to go ahead and order your food. The food court didn’t have terribly many options, but a new Thai place had just opened so you figured you’d give it a shot.
You were already halfway through your meal by the time Bokuto ran up to your table huffing and puffing. You didn’t even get to greet him before he was shoving a large blue and white box into your hands. “Open it!” He was bouncing on the balls of his feet, positively giddy.
You giggled, “Okay, okay, I’m opening it!”
When you finally got the box open, you pulled out an owl plushie that smelled distinctly of vanilla. You gasped, “Oh, Bokuto, I love it! It’s so cute!”
“There’s more. Uhhh, I think it’s somewhere in the chest? Just squeeze until you find it, okay?”
You were confused what he could mean, but did as he instructed anyway. You eventually found out when you squeezed something hard and a recording of Bokuto’s voice came from the little plushy.
“Will you be my girlfriend?”

Movie Theater Suna
now that school was out you could finally look for a job to earn a bit of cash
lucky for you the local movie that was hiring
super lucky for you, you’ll be working with the one and only suna rintarou
the heartthrob from math class and middle blocker on the boys vball team
it’s a super easy job
all you have to do is check tickets before people walk into their respective rooms
it doesn’t take two people but you were paired up anyway
not that you were complaining
“Nah, you don’t need to show your tickets,” said Suna, waving the pair into the hall to continue to their movie.
You turned to him. “You need to do your job,” you deadpanned.
“Oh come on, the guy upfront tears the ticket when people walk in. You can’t even get this far without one, so what’s the point?”
He wasn’t wrong and all you could do was grumble in response. You wanted to smack that smug look off of his prettyboy face.
“SUNA!”
The boy in question didn’t even have to look over to know who that was. He groaned but otherwise ignored the loud-mouthed blond.
“Hey, Suna,” greeted Kita. Suna said hey back, which apparently deeply offended Atsumu.
“How come ya said hey to him and not me?!”
“Because I actually like Kita,” answered Suna, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. You cracked up at the quip from Suna, earning the attention of his teammates.
“You’re Yn, I presume?” asked Kita. You nodded.
Osamu joined the conversation, “Suna’s told us a lot about ya. Can’t seem to shut up about his pretty coworker. It was cute at first, but it’s beginning to get annoying.”
“Shut up, ‘Samu!” shouted a red-faced, embarrassed Suna, reaching over to hit Osamu over the back of the head.
“Yeah, Suna, when are ya gonna ask her out?” teased Atsumu, eager to tease Suna with his brother. “If you don’t, I might.” He winked at you, glancing at Suna to make sure he saw.
“Don’t you dare! What girl in her right mind would go out with you anyway? Yn’s smarter than that.”
“Hey! Plenty of girls are interested in me, thank ya very much!”
“Well, then, lay off Yn and ask one of them.” Suna was scowling now, not at all amused at being teased instead of being the teaser. It seems like Suna had completely forgotten that you were still there, listening to the whole conversation.
Kita whispered into your ear, “This is probably as close to a confession as you’ll get from Suna, even if it’s not direct. Hope it’s not too personal, but how do you feel about him?”
You whispered back, “I wouldn’t be opposed to going out with him. In fact, I think I’d quite enjoy it.”
Kita chuckled, “Y’heard that, Suna?”
Suna looked over from berating the twins, “Heard what?”
“Nothin’. Come on, guys, or we’ll miss the movie.” Kita said, beginning to walk away with the twins following.
It wasn’t until they disappeared into the theater that Suna spoke to you, but he avoided eye contact all the while. “Hey, save me some embarrassment and forget what they said, okay?”
You frowned. “So, you don’t wanna go out to eat with me? Maybe next Saturday?”
His head snapped up, a smirk growing on his handsome face, “You asking me out?”
A smile mirroring his slowly appeared on your face and that was enough for him. “I always imagined how I’d ask you out. Never thought you'd be the one to ask me.”
“So, is that a yes?”
“Yeah, that’s a yes.”

Bus Boy Ushi
being a waitress sucks
but getting to see ushijima wakatoshi’s muscles flex when he wipes down tables?
um, yes? hello? mans is fOINE and he doesn't even know it smh
it's been both a blessing and a curse
on one hand, you get to see him almost everyday
on the other, you've gotten in trouble with your boss more than once for getting distracted
little do you know but ushi has the same problem with you
You were taking an older couple’s order when you saw your coworker and classmate in your peripheral cleaning off a nearby table. You swear you didn’t mean to, but you stopped paying attention to the woman’s order to watch Ushijima do his job. It wasn’t until Ushijima was carrying the dishes back to the kitchen that you turned back to see the old woman giving you a knowing look. You were absolutely mortified and began apologizing profusely. She laughed and waved them off. “It’s okay, dear. That’s one good looking man.” You saw her husband give her a pointed look but she ignored him and continued, lowering her voice, “And between you and me, I saw him looking at you on his way to that table over there. I think he likes you, too.”
If your face wasn’t red before, it certainly was now. Not only were you caught practically drooling over your coworker, but this sweet old lady was teasing you about it.
You finished taking the table’s order and brought it to the kitchen. You were quickly directed to the next table that had yet to be attended to. A table full of rowdy boys. Great, this was exactly what you wanted to deal with today. You recognized a few of them as members of the basketball team. You took a deep breath and steeled yourself. You weren’t even at the table yet and you could hear their conversation. Something about taking the spotlight from the volleyball team. As if that was ever gonna happen. Academics aside, the volleyball team was Shiratorizawa’s pride and joy.
You wasted no time when you got to the table. You wanted to get this over with as quickly as possible. “Hi, I’m Yn, and I’ll be your waitress today. Can I start y’all off with any drinks or appetizers?” You took each of their orders, not missing the way one of them was eyeing you. Disgusting. Not that you had a leg to stand on. You basically did the same thing to Ushijima.
You walked briskly back to the kitchen, eager to get far away from that table. But alas, you had to serve them until they left. When you returned with their drinks, you could feel the creep’s eyes on your chest when you leaned across the table to place a drink down. God, they couldn’t leave fast enough. All you could do was grin and bear it.
“Do you know what you would like to order or do you need more time?”
“Well, that depends, are you on the menu?”
You were taken aback, not expecting such a brazen attempt at flirting. You might have been too worried about losing your job to make a scene, but Ushijima, who had been bussing a table nearby, was not.
His deep baritone came from behind you, “Apologize. Now.”
You recalled the table’s conversation from earlier. So the fact that Ushijima was both ace and captain of the volleyball team was sure to make things worse.
“I wasn’t talking to you, Ushiwaka.”
“Well, I’m talking to you. Apologize to her. She’s obviously uncomfortable because of you. Flirting won’t get you a discount or her number. So order your food and leave.”
“Are y’all dating or something?”
“Yes.”
You blanched. Not in a million years did you ever think you would hear Ushijima call you his girlfriend. The guy scoffed before getting out of the booth and storming out of the restaurant. His teammates followed after him, but they actually had the decency to pay for their drinks. A few of them left a sizable tip as a way of apologizing for the trouble.
After they left, Ushijima asked if you were okay. You were fine thanks to him. It seems the old lady was right about Ushijima liking you because he asked if you’d like to date him for real. You were absolutely ecstatic.
Your boss, however, was fed up with both you and Ushijima, but that was fine. You may have lost your job that day, but you gained a boyfriend. Your first date was him taking you out for ice cream because he blamed himself for you losing your job.

What tips/recommendations do you have for girlies who want to get into smelling like THAT bitch but also don’t have like any knowledge about perfumes or body sprays? I think I have owned 3 perfumes in my entire life so far. Many body sprays but mostly ones other people have bought for me as a gift 🙃 I do like sweet but not floral scents and things that have a fall/autumn sort of feel to them. Queen, help me! I have no idea what I’m doin. Where did you start?
okay i would like to say youre off to a pretty good start because you already have an idea of what you like: autumn florals! what i suggest is to give away the ones you don't like/dont reach for. reddit is great for perfume swaps if you go on r/femfraglab or r/fragrance you can give them away there! but the important thing honestly is to start with as little perfumes as possible so it doesn't confuse you.
so a really easy way to build the foundations is to look at your body care products like soaps and lotions. you may not like overly scented soaps and lotions, you may only reach towards soaps and lotions that have specific scents
you may reach for things with peony or rose or lavender or aloe or vanilla its good to take note of that
body mists are truly a great and inexpensive way to figure out what you like. since youre starting out dont go in and buy everything you think smells good, think about whether or not you would wear it.
bath and body works is the best place for you especially as they bring out their fall collection i say go out and smell them you dont have to necessarily buy them but notice the ones you like and read the back of the bottle for the fragrance notes, i suggest writing down all of the common denominators you find
when it comes to your big girl perfumes go and test them! what i like to do is take a day and go to macys (way more options and less chaotic than sephora) and ask the sales associates their opinions. they can be intimidating but theyre there to help and can lead you in the right direction
if you wanna go in with a list to avoid being overwhelmed, i suggest
1. writing out a budget
2. researching ahead of time
and
3. write a list of what you want to try
i suggest fragrantica discussion boards and youtube video reviews to get an idea of what to look for
then I'll visit one of the three stores (macys, sephora, ulta) and see if i can find the ones on my list ill spray the test strips and write down the names of them on the strip so i can smell them throughout the day!
ik this seems like a lot but its truly just a journey thats best not rushed! get to learn your tastes and dislikes and take note of them and dont overshoot
my rule of thumb for starting out a perfume collection is
one neutral oil (egyptian musk, vanilla, amber etc) to wear on days where you want to layer or keep it simple
3 body mists (a fresh/clean one, your favorite "signature" you can wear every day and one for special occasions)
and 1-2 full perfumes (a signature scent that can be layered with your body mists that you can wear everyday and if you want at least one more option, i suggest a perfume that you like thats not something you would usually wear)

I just finished: killer7!
Tumblr media
killer7 was the first Grasshopper Manufacture game, or often just referred to as 'suda51 game' to blow up outside of japan (in part because the other games weren't localised yet). This is also the first of the games I've played, generally hearing it's the best - and it matches what I've generally heard: unique, weird, obfuscating and purposely confusing with nonetheless compelling gameplay and storytelling.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The gameplay is a mix of adventure with an on-rails shooter - but with track switching. You walk along paths, which you can turn and move both ways, occasionally shooting enemies that get in the way to solve puzzles necessary to complete a stage. The puzzles are surprisingly not that hard or frustrating, and the map lets you know where to go pretty well. The confusion is saved for the story, which tries to tell itself through the least direct means almost always. A lot of the story will make you think, why am I being shown this? And to be honest after finishing it I'm still not sure. You could spend a lot of time trying to figure out how all the pieces connect, and I'm sure many have, but I prefer to just let the weirdness flow over me, with certain parts standing out and others disappearing downstream.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The main character/s has DID, which I'm not really equipped to comment on, though I'll say nothing jumped out as particularly wrong. The various personas are also the different characters you get to play as, each having their own specialty - one is able to open locks, one has big guns that can break certain walls, one can spray / absorb blood to reveal things in certain places - standard stuff. When playing as these your character does actually change visually, seemingly supernaturally - though the supernatural elements of the game tenuously genuine. A lot of the story is told through seemingly ghosts of people you have killed, or at least died in some way in relation to you, but this could of course simply be an internal guilt kind of thing. The actual order of events is somewhat confusing, everything you do in the game may simply be memories - I'm not sure. The main enemies seem to be a supernatural force though no-one really brings it up. Again, this is all very purposely confusing and I doubt there can really be a definitive answer.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The game also has a political sub-story - about some sort of possible war between the U.S. and Japan - and I'm not really sure how much it adds. The game sort of feels like it wants to do everything at once, explore every theme possible, and while it certainly has a lot to say it could also probably do with being a little more focused. At first the politics story seems to be the main thrust of the game, but by the end you kind of forget about it, even the game seems to forget having one main ending and then having a post ending mission that wraps it up.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Grade: A - actually very easy to play surprisingly given the kind of game and how old it is. I think the newer version provided some Q.o.L. mechanics that helped a lot though.
Significance: 3/3 - made Suda51 and grasshopper a name, and is undoubtedly one of the must plays of the medium.

FFXIVWrite 2022 - Prompt 16 - Deiform
In which we get a window into the complicated relationship Altai has with Nhaama and the Will of Karash (berserking)
Warnings for my usual rampant Nhaama headcannoning.  CW: Depersonalization
______________________________________________________________
The world is a blur of blue–stray thoughts and the halo of aftermath. Somewhere distant, deep down, Altai knows this is the tide of Karash’s will. He’s berserking, the others call it. But his awareness of the situation drifts on the very edge, buried beneath the weight of the thing that controls him. (Small price to pay, really–the confusion and the loss of self.)
Karash breaks things down into impulses: left, right, swing harder, step faster, stab up and feel the spray of blood. She thinks so loud that there’s no space for him beneath–no room to process. Just the words that echo and the burning flame of anger eating at his chest. Sometimes he manages to catch glimpses–snarling enemy faces, his friends in danger or hurt, the splatter of red. Never enough to understand the scene, only brief gasps of air before he’s drowning again.(He doesn’t mind, he doesn’t mind. Panic is such a small price for the help of a god.)
Blue aether blinds him to himself and courses through his veins. It numbs him to anything Karash might do with his body. His arm isn’t meant to move like that, not that high or fast, but if she’s in the driver’s seat he can do anything. Up, in, dive, out–Karash commands, her thoughts defeating his own as they respond. He has no idea why they move where they do–nor why his palm meets resistance when his knife moves. In the fleeting seconds between swings he thinks he might have heard someone cry out, but he doesn’t know who or why. He only knows the song of dusk and the dance of violence–stepping to the pattern of Karash’s whims. (It’s fine, it’s fine. He isn’t here.)
Sometimes she knows to leave him when the fight ends. Sometimes she forgets. This time, she must be satisfied with whatever violence she wrought. He blinks back to himself, stumbling but on his feet in the wreckage. Creatures in the shapes of men, twisted and unfamiliar lay at his feet. He doesn’t remember… why did they fight? What were they doing here? His head pounds with the onset of a migraine. (Small prices to pay, the pain and the fog– she saved you again, didn’t she? Didn’t she?)
“You fought valiantly, Brave Champion,” the companion he’s just met tonight insists, smiling as they soothe the bloody rent in his collar with another spell. Altaichin has no words to answer with. He’s too busy trying to recognize himself, let alone the pain threading through his chest or the ache of misuse that threads most of his muscles. (It doesn’t matter. It’s nothing. He’s nothing.)
“Wasn’t really me,” Altai admits. His friend quiets with a nod, as if that’s all he needs to say.
Unfamiliar blood paints his hands where his fingers curl around the hilt of both knives. He hopes whatever they fought deserved it. Surely the others would have stopped him if he went too far otherwise. He scans the team of adventurers briefly–making sure they’re all still here. They seem preoccupied with the enemy corpses, but no one seems hurt.
The knives slide easy back into their sheathes, even as Altai berates himself for putting them away unclean. His hands shake too hard to manage the chore of caring for them now, something like panic caught like a bubble in his chest. Every time he gives Karash control he puts them all in danger, and yet… The value outweighs the risk. If it brings them all home safe because she can use him more ruthlessly and better than he can manage on his own, it has to be worth it. But sometimes he can’t help thinking…
Maybe playing at giving his form to a god of violence will only end in tragedy.
Altai feels guilty for entertaining doubts like these, when Nhaama has only ever come to his rescue. His thoughts spin too far in every direction, scattered thin, and he can barely manage to stay standing. The headache throbs, an early warning for the fever bound to follow. (Small prices to pay, small prices to pay.)
He’ll pay her every tax in every way–every agony and nightmare and passion and ounce of devotion she can take–so long as she keeps them safe. Altai ignores the horrible voice in the back of his mind reminding him he’s never been enough for anyone–let alone a god.

How easy is it to shock your OC? To confuse them? To lie to them, to manipulate them? How are they with feelings of trust? Can your OC be trusted? It's super hard to shock Jane with everything she's seen! Both throughout the trilogy and her background, she's seen a ton of stuff. As long as she's in her wheelhouse with combat, military strategy, other things she's naturally good at she's fine but once like...Liara and Tali start talking about super out there tech and science stuff she tunes out lmao. She never got a great education back on earth considering her upbringing and she kind of avoids those conversations because she hates being reminded. It's not easy to lie or manipulate Jane on the other hand. She's pretty distrustful even if she kinda puts forth a friendly demeanor. Jane is good at reading people (another of the slim benefits to her upbringing). Once Jane trusts you though and you earn her respect? You aren't getting rid of her! You just have to prove yourself to her first. Jane is a pretty honest, direct person and isn't the kind to manipulate or lie without purpose at least and she tries to be dependable!
Compare your OC to themself from 10 years ago. How has their mental state changed since then, how have they aged and grown up? Would they say they’re in a better place than they were back then or do they need help? What advice would they give their younger self? What advice would their younger self give to them now? BABY JANE! She's ~32 in ME3 so 22 year old Jane was a lot less...worn and tired. Jane a few years into her military career was very headstrong like she still is but more arrogant (if that's possible) and had big dreams about rising up among the ranks and Making a Difference and above all else just enjoying being out of where she was raised and AMONG THE STARS! I'd say she's been tempered a bit by all she's experienced even if that fire is still inside her. I think Jane would try and sit her younger self down and tell her that sometimes you inevitably fail and the only thing you can do is learn from it. Baby Jane takes her losses hard because she kind of thinks she can do anything. Baby Jane would probably remind older Jane of that fire she had, that it's a good thing and that her idealism isn't a weakness. Also, would remind her where they came from because looking back it really seems like they can do anything.

Dynaco Repair Post No. 2
Monday Evening, Dec. 11, '23
It turns out I did hit upon an "upper limit" of number of photos per post. SO...it looks like I'll have to start a new post when I hit that limit again. I will add a link to this part at the bottom of the first post. As long as the current post is the one I'm updating, I will pin it, for easy reference. Once it's all done, I'll probably make a masterpost index.
To the project at hand! Been working on and off through the day. The day, which started out with anxiety about getting the parts today, due to the mailbox vandals. I should not have worried, the box was delivered by my apt door before noon!
Tumblr media
Can't say enough good about the Dynakitparts.com site and Kevin, who runs things. Extremely fast and courteous with responses, and packs like a pro, tape in all the right places, everything arrives appropriately packaged and SAFE! If you have an old Dynaco beastie that needs TLC and are looking for parts, try them first! Their boards and kits are extremely well executed. Things of beauty, as you will see this evening!
The new sticker looks really sharp, and the new (modern) resistors are much smaller.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The power cords on both the PAS and the ST70 are the beige/brown originals: the plastic has become hard/brittle, but still intact. I rummaged through my box of clipped power cords and found two appropriate flat-bladed cords that will be perfect. The one for the PAS is grey, the one for the ST70 is black.
So, the first order of business today was to solder the new power cord into place on the PAS. Very straightforward, just two simple solder lugs, and it's done. Tied a knot as a stop (like the original), and routed the same way the original had been.
Tumblr media
The above photo is showing the "new" grey cord with its knot, waiting to be prepped for soldering, while the old, brittle, beige cable has been clipped and is about to be unsoldered. The new cord is nice and pliable, and a slight improvement gauge-wise. It looks good, in place:
Tumblr media
Now the next thing that I was really concerned with was that triple-wafered monster source switch. It had become so difficult to turn, I was afraid of breaking those wafers where the inner rotating disk's contacts meet the outer, stationary ring's contacts, and once that happens, it's toast.
Tumblr media
But, again, I shouldn't have worried, as some strategic sprays with this stuff, on all the contact surfaces, plus the front "bearing" and the mating surfaces where the control shaft turns, a few left/right turns, gentle at first, then with more force, until you have hit all the spots with the cleaner and let it flush through and drain, the source switch feels brand new again.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And I found my white lithium grease, and applied some to the front bearing/spring-clip assembly, and did the same left/right six clicks to distribute the grease, and it's good for another good long while.
Tumblr media
I did say "things of beauty", well, the new board along with the gold-plated RCA jacks, with color coded insulators (not brittle ceramic) are just very nice eye candy for eyes that appreciate good design!
Tumblr media
See what I mean?
Tumblr media
The RCAs all come with a separate ground lug, only ONE of which gets used. Again, the directions are written so well that if you read thoroughly and carefully, and study the pictorial drawing you will have no trouble. The one ground lug that is used, here on the corner top RCA, No. 9:
Tumblr media
Now, the two pairs different resistors are clearly marked, and packaged so as not to be mixed up or confused. The old carbon resistors are huge in comparison to the new ones:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The next steps are about marking the wires and switching out the panels, and finishing up the connections. I figured that was a good place to stop for tonight, and start fresh in the morning. In prep for that, you remove the four brass screws that hold the back panel to the base, and tilt it back a bit to access all the old jack terminals:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And there's (^^^^) the old RCA panels (one of which is cracked), with the older, cramped style RCAs with the brittle white ceramic insides. The new ones are light years better in both design and quality.
I was also able to find a source for the #53 bulb for the pilot light. They arrive on Wednesday, which is pretty much right on schedule for me to be finishing the PAS repairs and turning my attention to the Stereo70.
Thursday, December 14, 2023
Yesterday began auspiciously enough, I was able to get the old wires marked 1-thru-9 for both left and right, and then began unsoldering them from the old RCA array...even though the instructions themselves say it's easier to just clip them.
I should have heeded that advice.
About halfway through the unsoldering of the left channel leads, I thought I had gotten one of them "loose" enough to pull through the hole in the original jack, and so I tugged. A little too zealously.
My hand flew backwards, into that third and final wafer in the triple-wafer Source Switch, and the outer ring of it cracked. Completely. The pieces still held together at the very bottom but the top was completely broken. But also, the remaining wires all lost their little numbers I'd put on them with pieces of adhesive stickers that suddenly seemed to fly apart when hit the the force of a hamfisted hobbit.
Tried superglue. lulz. A farce. Then I realized that when I held the piece in place, it clicked and worked just fine! SO...I got a piece of wire, and wrapped it around the broken top part, and it seemed to be ok. Clicked it a few times, and it seemed like it had come out of alignment, so I realigned it, re-wrapped the wire and added a little more and all seemed fine.
So I set about with the rest of the unsoldering, and using the lead length, figured which RCA they went to. All was going fine, until I saw that a ground wire had come loose from somewhere on one of the PC boards, and I had no idea which. Looked on the pictorial, and saw where it was supposed to be, but I had a feeling that's not where it had been soldered.
Finished soldering all the leads onto the new RCA jacks, and soldered the ground wire to the lug as instructions show.
Brought it back to the rest of my system to see if it was ok, and it most definitely wasn't. I got the sound at the amp showing it was plugged in, but nothing from any of the inputs.
Tried phono, nada, tried Spare, which I always had a 3-input external switchbox on, and nothing from direct plug. Took the RCA line out of the two "audio out" jacks, and accidently brushed the inner (positive) tip to the outer (negative) part of the RCA and sound blasted forth.
That was at almost 10pm last night, and I was too beaten and felt far too defeated to go any further. Today has not brought much progress, other than to read through the original build and follow with my eyeballs on the pictorial. I don't think I flubbed on the soldering. If it's that broken wafer, then I have to admit defeat here.
At this point, it's only a couple hours away from me needing to be ready to go to kiddo's school band concert (she's playing trumpet!), so Dynaco has to wait.
I know I shouldn't let it get to me that I broke the one most irreplaceable part I could have, but I really do feel defeated. I guess I could try and find one on eBay, but no guarantee it wouldn't be broken, too.
At any rate, here's the pics from the debacle yesterday.
Tumblr media
I'd just gotten the first few of the left (green) leads unsoldered when the switch fell victim to my stupid:
Tumblr media
My first attempt at a stopgap solution:
Tumblr media
Notice the tabs at 2 o'clock...the inner is over the outer, should be the other way around. Several tries later, I thought I had it.
So I turned my attention to removing the old jacks and installing the new ones.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gorgeous, ain't they?
Tumblr media
So, I had gathered what wits I had left and got the leads soldered as best I could determine (where the original labels had fallen off) which was which. Some, there was no doubt. Others, plenty.
Tumblr media
Got them all soldered and tight, then put a new pilot lamp bulb in (they had arrived the day before), put the tubes in and got four glowing 12AX7s and a lit pilot bulb, so yay! I guessed the only thing left was to put the bottom cover in place and test it out.
When I did, I got the above-referenced fuckery.
But, in my defence, it was almost 10pm, I'd been up early, been at it all day, and my back was killin' me. I just unplugged everything in disgust and took my shower and went to bed.
I will spend more time on it this evening, after I get back from the concert. At this point, I suppose it's safe to assume the Source Switch is borked, and see what to do from there.
Update: later 12-14-23
Well, I found one on eBay, still with wires attached, for $27 total:
Tumblr media
Had a coupon code so that knocked some off. Messaged the seller, and he said he had multiples, so I'm figuring it will be one I can work with. Whew. Thanks @misfitwashere, always the voice of reason. I will set the PAS aside, and set about putting the bias kit in the ST70.

Y/N reached her hand across the bed and sat up in confusion when she found cold sheets. “Bruce?” She glanced around the room but found no sign of him. It was dusk, but she had hoped he might wait for her to wake up before he left for the night. She got dressed, making sure to pull on her shoes because she doubted the mess downstairs would have got any better. She walked out of the room and froze at the top of the staircase. She leaned over the banister to get a better look at whatever was all over the floor.
The table had been pushed to the side of the room and three lamps were positioned across the floor. Bruce had spraypainted a mind map directly onto the wooden floor. The Riddler’s logo was in the centre with five branches coming out of it. Three were for the dead men: Coulson, Mitchell, and Savage. Their names were surrounded by crime scene pictures from the news and Bruce’s own contact lens footage. ‘No more lies’ was written above Coulson’s name. The other two branches were the phrases he had told her were spray painted on the orphanage walls, the first as an exact copy, the second as a question: ‘renewal is a lie’ and ‘the sins of my father?’.
She walked down the stairs and looked at the photos. She had been right, the bodies looked worse than the news would have let people think. A glance around the room told her he was not here, but she called out anyway. “Bruce?”
When she got no reply, she walked to the elevator and went down to the station. It too appeared empty. “Bruce?” Her voice echoed through the room, but there was no reply. She sighed and sat down in his desk chair. She looked at the books sitting on his desk. They were all old renewal files. She nudged the computer mouse and the screen powered up. It took her a minute to realise what she was looking at on the screen. It was from the contacts. There was a note in the corner saying ‘Where R U?’, and a cat. She hit play out of pure curiosity. She hit pause again when a woman came into the shot. It was the same gorgeous woman from two days ago.
Y/N could feel the band closing around her heart again and turned off the screens. She looked behind her in an attempt to keep the tears at bay and noticed that the charger was not on it’s ramp. She wiped at her face as she stood and looked around the room. It was in the main part of the station, the driver’s side door still wide open.
“What has he done to you?” She muttered under her breath as she ran her fingers along the body work. The bulletproof glass in the passenger side window was cracked and shattered from multiple gunshots, but it would be easy to change out. The armoured plating had done its job, there were only a few scratches, whish she could easily buff out. There was a bullet in the front passenger side tire, which was again, easily dealt with. She climbed in, finding the keys still in the ignition, and pulled it back up onto the ramp.
When she climbed out she noticed a trail of liquid against the concrete floor in the direction she had just drove. She swore before ducking under the car. She sighed, the fuel line was cracked.
She walked back over to the computer, ignoring the gorgeous woman, and pulled up the news from the night before. She read the article detailing the Batman’s car chase of the Penguin and sighed again. She grabbed her tool kit and got to work.
****
The roar of a bike engine reverberating through the tunnels drew Y/N’s attention. She left what she was doing and ducked out from under the car. She wiped her hands off on a rag as Bruce pulled the bike to a stop. He was still fully kitted up, sans cape, and she did not know if that was a good sign or not.
“Please tell me you didn’t lose another?”
Bruce’s heart jumped as he looked at her. Selina’s kiss had confirmed it for him, he knew what he truly wanted. But there was no time for that. So, he ignored her question and walked up to the desk. “Have you watched the news today?” He reached up and took off his mask, his hair sticking up at funny angles, before he started typing on the computer.
She walked over to stand next to him. “No. Why, has he killed again already?”
“No, it’s about-” He did not finish, the name of the video gave it away. He glanced at her before hitting play.
Thomas Wayne appeared on the screen, addressing the crowds in the orphanage. “From a very young age, my family, Martha’s family, the Arkhams, instilled in both of us that giving back is not only an obligation, it’s a passion. That is our family’s legacy.”
“The Waynes, the Arkhams and the L/Ns.” As the Riddler started speaking the image shifted to show black and white photos of Bruce’s parents and grandparents, and Y/N’s parents and her father’s family. All of people in the photos had their eyes scratched off. “Gotham’s founding families. But what is their real legacy. You all know the L/N’s legacy, they’re rotting where they belong.” Y/N tensed up. “But the others, twenty years ago, one reporter set out to uncover the dark truth.” Pictures of the reporter came up on screen. “He found shocking family secrets.” The image shifted to show a picture of a woman lying on a bed with her eyes scratched off. “How when Martha was just a child, her mother brutally murdered her father, then committed suicide.” The video flicked through the crime scene photos. “The Arkham’s used their power and money to cover it up.” Their death certificates came up with the word ‘accidental’ underlined multiple times. “How Martha herself was in and out of institutions for years and they didn’t want anyone to know.” The picture of Martha was also missing its eyes.
Y/N glanced up at Bruce when a picture of his mother in the yard of a mental hospital came up. His eyes were wide and his jaw locked in place. She wanted to reach out and grab his hand but she did not know how he would react.
The image shifted back to Thomas at his announcement shaking hands with various people. “Thomas Wayne tried to force this crusading reporter into a hush money agreement, to save his mayoral campaign! But when the reporter refused,” A cease and desist letter came up on screen. “Wayne turned to long time secret associate, Carmine Falcone!” Thomas’ eyes were scratched out but Falcone’s, as always, were hidden behind his sunglasses. “And had him murdered!” The Riddler’s words were hard to make out as he laughed manically as he spoke them.
Bruce tensed up, the shock and horror clear on his face.
“The Waynes, the Arkhams and the L/Ns! Gotham’s legacy of lies and murder!” The image shifted to show the Riddler’s usual backdrop before he walked into the frame himself. “I hope you’re listening, Bruce Wayne, this is your legacy too. Your wife already knows hers. But Gotham needs you to answer for the sins of your father. Goodbye.”
Y/N felt sick as she reached out switched off the video. Bruce bowed his head and clenched his fists. Throughout everything, the image he had of his father had never faltered. But with one video, it had been shredded to pieces.
“Bruce?” Y/N’s voice was timid, as if she might spook him. “You don’t even know if that’s true.”
“And who am I supposed to ask to find out? At least you can go and talk to your parents, Y/N!” He shot her a hard glare before a look of realisation crossed his face and he made a beeline to the elevator. He had shut the door and pressed the button for the penthouse before she figured out how to make her legs move again.
“Hey!” She called out but the elevator was already moving. She pressed the button impatiently, cursing herself for not moving when he had.
She ignored the mind map on the floor as she ran up the stairs. His bedroom door was wide open. The suit was scattered across the bedroom floor and she could hear water running in the bathroom. She walked into the room as it shut off and Bruce walked out of the bathroom, drying his face on a towel, the make-up gone. He was already wearing jeans and boots, but he pulled on a t-shirt and a cardigan after throwing the towel on his bed.
Y/N watched him as he finished getting ready, trying to figure out what to say. He went to walk past her but she moved in front of him and put her hands on his chest. He stopped.
“Where are you going?” She glanced across at the window, it was already dark out and he was clearly not going out as the Batman. The wild look in his eyes was worrying her. He tried to sidestep her but she moved with him. “No, you’re scaring me. Where are you going?”
“To speak to someone who can explain. Now, please move.” His eyes were focused behind her. He was clearly avoiding looking at her.
She shook her head, realising what he meant. “No. He won’t tell you the truth, you know he won’t. He’ll twist it into whatever he thinks you need to hear to be on his side.” She took a step forward into him, balling up the edges of his cardigan in her fists. “Listen to me, please. You know what Falcone’s like.”
“Seems like it didn’t stop my father.” His jaw clenched again. “Y/N.” He warned when she did not let go.
“Wait for Alfred to wake up, please. You know Alfred will tell you the truth.”
“Yeah, because he has up until this point.”
“He would have had his reasons, you know he would. Please, Bruce. Especially not tonight. That psycho still wants you dead.” She pleaded, knowing the minute he truly wanted to get around her she would not be able to stop him.
“Maybe then I can kill two birds with one stone.” He wrapped his hands around hers and pried her grip from his cardigan.
“Please.”
He faltered, just for a second the tone of her voice broke through to him. But he pushed it down and walked past her. She did not follow him.

“Does this help?” + kara being injured
All things considered, Lena’s Saturday has been startlingly unremarkable so far. The sun is shining, she’d had her usual cup of yogurt with sliced bananas for breakfast, she hasn’t gotten a single off-hours weekend call from work, and she’d even had time to read the Cooking section in the National City Tribune. The biggest thing on her calendar for the day is her weekly movie night with Kara, which she’d been quietly looking forward to since Kara had left her apartment after their movie night the week before.
There was a time in Lena’s life where the easy, almost leisurely flow of her day would have been alarmingly, disarmingly suspect. But with no attempts on her life and L-Corp running smoothly for the last year or so, Lena’s life has settled into something more… quiet.
And on any other day, it might have continued that way.
Because noxious gas-breathing, nine-legged alien dragons aren’t typically her problem.
She gets the notification on her phone, of course:
Emergency Alert: Rogue Alien Attacking National City Waterfront— alien is violent and unrestrained, exhales unidentified purple gas. Residents urged to remain indoors and to close all windows.
Lena sighs, rolling her neck to the side and grabbing her phone as she lifts herself off her couch to close her balcony door. Despite having a near-panoramic view of the water, Lena’s apartment is on the other side of town from the docks, but she winds her way around her apartment anyway and closes all of her windows just in case. She’s just shutting the last one when she fires off a text to Kara, telling her to stay inside and to not come over until the alien is taken care of, and don’t even think about going down to the docks to report on it, Kara, I know CatCo doesn’t have gas masks on hand.
She gets a single thumbs up in response, an unusually terse reply from Kara, who never sends one text message when three will do, but Lena doesn’t think much of it and just settles back down on the couch to flip on the news.
She watches live as the alien positively obliterates several of National City’s piers with three of its arms. The video feed shows people diving out of the way as wet, splintered wood flies in every direction. The esplanade is littered with debris as the alien rears up again, swinging its tail against the surface of the bay and spraying rolling waves of water onto the shore.
Lena blows out a heavy breath as she watches the destruction unfold before reaching out for her phone again. She’s just hitting send on an email to Jess, telling her to donate funds to the city to rebuild the docks, when the unmitigated panic on screen abruptly stops.
She sits up straight on the couch as she watches the dragon puff out a billowing cloud of purple smoke. It unfurls along the embankment and the remaining parts of the boardwalk, and slowly engulfs the small crowd of people fleeing the waterfront and the remaining stragglers on the shoreline.
Lena watches, mouth parting in shock, as they all stop running en masse and slow to a halt. The newsfeed goes silent as the crowd stops screaming, even the newscaster losing his breath as everyone stands still, lolling around on their feet as if held up by rubber and not muscle, before they all calmly sink down to the ground and lay down.
The sweeping shot of everyone resting on the ground seems to spur the news anchor back to life, and he resumes narrating wildly, jabbering and speculating like an auctioneer calling the Superbowl.
The dragon stops destroying more of the docks to huff out another cloud of smoke at a helicopter nearby. Lena sucks in a breath as the helicopter wobbles in the air over the people on the ground, but it just floats softly down, landing gentle as a feather on the nearest open patch of grass. Lena pinches her eyebrows together, bewildered, but before she can think too much on it, there’s a red and blue streak zooming into the frame.
Supergirl pulls up behind the dragon, and Lena only has a second to admire the sun glinting off her hair before Supergirl grabs the alien by one of its legs and flings it out toward the sea.
From there it’s a whirlwind. Supergirl and the alien lunge and splash and swing at each other at a dizzying speed, spinning in the air and dragging each other under the water. The camera holds steady on them for several minutes until one final breathtaking moment. Both Supergirl and the alien breach out of the water and whirl to face one another. Supergirl’s eyes glow for a split second before her heat vision activates and scorches across the dragon’s abdomen. It crashes back to the water with a roar, but just before it sinks beneath the surface, it huffs out one final breath of smoke.
It catches Supergirl visibly off-guard as she recovers from the fight, gasping for air just as it engulfs her. The newscaster goes silent once more, watching as Supergirl seems to go loose mid-air. She sways a little, drifting in the wind, a glassy, confused look on her face. Lena’s reaching for her phone, ready to call Alex to see if she can help, when Supergirl shakes her head and starts to fly, slowly and unsteadily, away from the scene.
The newscaster and Lena heave a simultaneous sigh of relief, and Lena lets her phone drop back down to the couch. The news switches back to coverage of the dazed, lethargic people on the shore who seem confused but otherwise unharmed. Lena’s just relaxing back into the cushions, half a mind to open her windows back up to let in the breeze, when she catches movement out of the corner of her eye.
She turns, watching as Supergirl floats shakily toward her balcony.
When Supergirl lands, it’s with none of the elegance or athleticism Lena’s come to associate with her. There’s no graceful descent, no landing delicately on one pointed foot or shooting down from the sky to stop on a dime just before she hits the ground. Supergirl drifts closer and closer to her building, one foot outstretched as she reaches Lena’s balcony, but her foot catches on the top of the railing, and she topples over it, hands splayed out to catch herself. She spills over the banister and lands on her chest, legs arching up behind her and feet still hooked over the railing. She looks up at Lena through the glass window, eyes half glazed over and unfocused as her cape slides up the slope of her back to pool at the back of her neck.
The sight of her, glassy and dazed and draped over her railing like a wet towel spurs Lena into action. She throws the balcony door open and rushes over, dropping to her knees and reaching out to run her hands down the length of Supergirl’s arms, cupping her cheeks and tilting her head to either side to look for bruises.
“Supergirl! Are you hurt? Can you stand? Come, let’s get you to the DEO.”
“Hi.”
Lena stills, pausing her frantic checking of Supergirl’s pulse to actually take stock of the situation.
Supergirl, seemingly unconcerned by her chin pressing into the concrete or being curled backwards over herself, blinks up at Lena. She looks untroubled, calm, her hair and suit still damp from the water but otherwise right as rain, but the expression on her face is… vacant. Her eyes are glossy, just slightly unfocused, mouth parted as she looks up at Lena. She looks open, unguarded, and completely unaware, and Lena recalibrates.
“Supergirl, do you know where you are?”
“Your balcony.”
“And do you know who I am?”
“Lena.”
“Does anything hurt?”
“No.”
“Can you untangle your feet so we can get you up?”
“Oh,” Supergirl remarks, like she hadn’t noticed her feet weren’t under her. She tries to twist around to look over her back at her feet, and she shuffles a little, unhooking the toes of her boots and falling fully onto the stone floor.
Lena tsks and instinctually reaches out again, grabbing hold of Supergirl’s shoulders and helping her move until she’s sitting upright, propped against the balcony railing. Supergirl leans back against it, blinking slowly and looking blankly around, and Lena finds herself itching for the phone she left in the living room but unwilling to leave the woman in front of her while she’s so vulnerable.
It isn’t like she hasn’t dealt with an incapacitated Supergirl before. Lena’s saved Supergirl from more than a handful of scrapes in the past couple years, but never like this, never while she was conscious, never while she seemed loopy and almost childlike. It’s easier to maintain her focus, Lena realizes, easier to put the worry aside and work on a fix when Supergirl is in grave danger, in desperate need of help.
This, with her awake and seemingly fine but so disoriented is throwing Lena off guard. Normal citizens shouldn’t see their city’s hero downed and unconscious, but they shouldn’t see her like this either, unfocused and confused, almost as if she’d been drugged. It’s unsettling, deeply uncomfortable in a way Lena can’t put her finger on, and she can’t help but feel both protective and out of her element at the same time.
“Okay,” Lena says, keeping her voice soft and caring. “How about we get you over to the DEO so they can check you out?”
“No, thanks,” comes the quiet reply. “I’ll stay here.”
It’s Lena’s turn to blink confusedly back at Supergirl, but the woman is looking elsewhere. The soft breeze that’s been blowing all day blows an errant leaf off of one of Lena’s plants and into Supergirl’s lap, and Lena watches, latent sense of panic beginning to grow in her stomach, as Supergirl picks up the leaf and twirls it between her fingers.
“I really think we should get you over to the DEO. You seem a little… off,” Lena says, careful to phrase it as gently as she can to not cause any alarm. “What if I just have Director Danvers come here by herself?” Lena asks, half unsure why she’s humoring Supergirl before she realizes that Supergirl has probably never gone anywhere she didn’t want to go— on account of being strong enough to lift a space station.
“No,” Supergirl responds again, simply, not rudely, “she’s not invited.”
Lena narrows her eyes at that, trying to sort out what kind of laughing gas this dragon has breathed out.
“I think I’m in charge of that,” Lena retorts, but she sighs, because Supergirl just looks up at her and smiles dopily.
“Okay,” Lena tries again. “Will you at least stand up and come inside? I can do some research on how to get these side effects to go away.”
Supergirl acquiesces this time, or at least Lena thinks she does until Supergirl turns away from the open door to her living room.
“I’ll stay out here,” she says, words slurring a little as she points to one of Lena’s deck chairs. “Need a little sun.”
She sways on the spot, as if momentarily suspended by the breeze, before stumbling over to Lena’s deck chair and collapsing onto it. She trips on one of the legs and the chair breaks under her weight, but she doesn’t seem to notice, letting her eyes drift shut and tilting her chin up toward the sun. A small smile crosses her face as the sun warms her, and Lena finds herself unable to hold back a small smile of her own.
“You’ve got twenty minutes,” Lena says, already planning out her research on alien dragons and a call to Alex in her head. “Then I’m making the call.”
“Uh uh,” Supergirl hums, eyes still closed, and Lena raises both eyebrows. “Is’fine, Lena. Don’t call. Wanted to come here.”
The longer sentences are starting to ease Lena’s mind, but Supergirl’s response rattles around in her brain and she can’t help but ask.
“Supergirl?”
Supergirl just hums back at her again.
“Why’d you come here instead of going to the DEO?”
“Didn’t want to miss movie night,” she says, calmly while she exhales, like Lena had asked her what day it is and she’d said, ‘Saturday.’
Lena freezes. The pit of panic in her stomach drops out and her whole body clenches at the loss. She stands frozen, staring at the figure laying prone, sprawled out on her deck chair. Lena’s heart pounds. She feels the rapid thudding in her chest, hears it reverberate in her ears. She takes it in, the red boots and skirt, the blue suit, the cape, the blonde hair.
Her eyes map the features on Supergirl’s face, and she realizes with some modicum of horror how familiar those features are. The point of her chin, the slope of her cheekbones, the nick of the scar above her eyebrow, the slightly upturned, charming pull of her mouth. It’s all—
“Lena?” those eyebrows scrunch together and it comes out as a whine, and Lena is overcome.
The panic disappears, instantly replaced by a tidal wave of worry, of affection, of bewilderment, confusion, and a little hurt.
“I’m here,” is what she blurts out in response, dropping onto the adjacent chair and wrapping her hand around Supergirl’s— Kara’s?— wrist, gentle, caring. “Hey, hey, I’m here. Are you okay?”
“Mhmm” Supergirl hums again, twisting her wrist to take hold of Lena’s hand. “Better already. Just need a nap and then we can watch a movie, okay?” Her voice is light and airy, and the smile droops off her face as she begins to fall asleep, but Lena can’t let her go, can’t be left alone with her racing mind. She needs to know, needs to be sure, and with a pounding heart, she presses on.
“Have—” Lena starts. Her voice cracks and she clears her throat and tries again, wiping the hand not enclosed in Supergirl’s tiredly across her brow. “Have you thought about what movie you want to see?”
“Which Star Wars are we up to?” Supergirl mumbles, half-asleep, and Lena feels her whole body clench with the confirmation as she sweeps her eyes up and down the figure in front of her with renewed worry, checking for injuries she knows aren’t there, because it’s Kara, it’s Kara, it’s Kara.
“Episode Six,” she whispers, tightening her hand around Kara’s.
“That one. ‘S a good one.” Kara breathes back.
Kara shifts on the chair a little bit, and small as the movement is, Lena thinks it looks the tiniest more purposeful, the tiniest bit less loose and floppy, and Lena feels her shoulders relax with it. It shifts something in her, the worry beginning to melt into a tender form of annoyance and she decides to push a little more.
“Are you hungry?”
“Mm,” Kara hums, smiling again. Lena narrows her eyes at her.
“Do you want Big Belly Burger for dinner like last time?”
“Mhmm yeah,” Kara murmurs, “and those fries that I like.”
Lena smirks, raising an eyebrow, but Kara is completely unaware. Lena squeezes her hand and stands. “I’ll order the food, and you can nap until it gets here, okay?”
“Mhmm thanks, Lena.”
“You’re welcome, Kara,” she says pointedly, but Kara doesn’t notice. Lena watches her smile in her half-asleep doze, her hand twitching a little until the smile droops off her face and she falls asleep just like that. Lena stands there, gaping at her for a moment, then makes her way inside.
Twenty minutes later, after a text to Alex and enough time spent slowing her racing heart, enough time spent with the news to know that the gas wears off on its own, eventually, she hears a sigh and a creak from outside. Supergirl— Kara, god, it’s Kara— is stretching on the deck chair, which appears to be hanging on for dear life, and Lena lifts herself off the couch, grabbing the bag next to her and making her way back outside.
She sets a glass of water down on the drinks table next to Kara’s head, watching as she shifts in the sun but doesn’t open her eyes.
“How are you feeling, Supergirl?”
“Mhmm, good, sleepy,” Kara yawns.
“They pulled that dragon out of the bay,” Lena says casually, crossing her arms. “You did a great job. No one’s hurt. The effects of the gas seem to subside on their own.”
“Good,” Kara murmurs, tilting her head up into the sun again. “That’s good.”
“The food’s here too,” Lena informs her, unable to hold back a smirk. “I got us a couple shakes as well.”
“Thanks,” Kara sighs happily. You’re the best.”
“But Kara?”
“Mmph?”
“You have to change out of your suit first. Wouldn’t want to get any residual alien goop on my couch.”
It’s exactly as satisfying as she thought it would be. Kara’s loose, floppy posture stiffens as her spine snaps straight, her eyes flying open as the chair finally gives out from under her. Lena watches the wheels turn once Kara hits the ground, sees Kara’s eyes bug out when they make eye contact. Kara’s flick down to look at her suit, then back up to Lena.
Lena twists her wrist, letting the paper bag swing out toward Kara.
“Your fries?”

Arrow write the mickey spotting ian and kev fic challenge!
Had to do this while it was still topical lol, so here goes.
The first time was an accident.  Well, sort of.
"Ian can help with that," Mickey offered, watching Kev struggle to shift kegs and pour drinks at the same time.
"Thanks man," Kev grunted, hoisting another keg.  He waddled with it along the length of the bar, body hidden behind the counter, and set it down with a heavy thunk.
"Not easy though," he added as he straightened.  "Don't wanna make him strain somethin' before your wedding."
He waggled his eyebrows at Mickey, tongue stuck out, and Mickey rolled his eyes.
He knew exactly what would come next.
"You think I can't lift a keg?" Ian asked from the stool next him.  His voice almost broke on the last word with sheer disbelief.  "I'm not some skinny kid anymore, Kev, I just got out of prison for fuck's sake!"
"Cause there were plenty of kegs there to lift," Mickey muttered into his beer, and almost sent it splashing over the old stained countertop when Ian shoved his shoulder too hard.
"Just point me where you need me," Ian told Kev, puffing out his chest.
Kev eyed Ian, then Mickey, then Ian again.  But ultimately, he shrugged, and tapped the top of the keg he had just put down.
"Uh, this guy here needs to go out back," he said.  "Brought in the wrong one."
"On it," Ian said, and made his way to it.  He bent over at the waist, his hands reaching for the handles, ass stuck out in his too-tight jeans.
Mickey tilted his head, and sipped his drink, admiring the view.
"Whoa, whoa, not like that!" Kev said from behind the bar, arms out.  "You're gonna hurt yourself, man."
"Then how," Ian forced out between gritted teeth, still leaning over, "would you suggest I do this?"
Kev came around, whacked Ian in the back until he let go and straightened with a huff.  Then he took up position at another keg alongside the first.
"Lift with your legs, kid," he said, and dropped into a half squat right in front of Mickey's face.
Oh.
"Like this?" Ian relented, assuming position next to Kev, broad back stretched and straight over bent legs and strong thighs.
Oh.
Kev and Ian each hoisted their kegs, beginning their awkward walk away toward the back, and Mickey leaned so far back on his stool he almost fell off.
Well, he thought as he downed the last of his drink, eyes following two ridiculously built sets of shoulders strain their way across the room.
He could get used to seeing that.
---
The second time, it was definitely on purpose.  He had talked Ian into trying out KevFit after his own misadventure--he was not eager to keep working out on his own, but Ian kept wanting to do new shit together.
They were only one round in at the keg lift station, Ian already grunting and heaving and sweaty next to him, when Kev came by.
"Good form, Ian," he congratulated, clapping a hand on his shoulder hard enough to make him drop the half-filled keg with a clatter.  "Way better than last time."
"Gee, thanks," Ian answered dryly, wiping his forehead with the hem of his thin workout tank, and Mickey had an epiphany.
"Hey, Kev," he said slowly, like the idea was just occurring to him, "You got all this equipment rigged up, but how are you on basics?"
Kev's brow furrowed, his muscled arms going slack at his sides.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean like, pushups and jogging and shit," Mickey answered.  "You know, the kind of stuff they do in the military."
He let his eyes widen, and turned them on Ian.
"Oh wait," he said, "that's kinda your thing, ain't it?"
Ian shrugged, looking confused.
"Uh, I guess?"
"Why don't you show Kev one of your old workouts?" Mickey suggested innocently.  "He could add some things to the whole KevFit routine, maybe bring in more clients."
Kev perked up at that.
"Yeah, why not?" he said.  "C'mon Ian, show me what you've got."
Five minutes later, Mickey was leaning against the "spring water" station, sipping from the flask he had snuck in from next door, watching two ridiculously tall, ridiculously strong fuckers take up half the open floor space doing increasingly impressive pushups.  Right then, Ian had one arm behind his sweat-slicked back, Kev mirroring his form, and Mickey's eyes followed the rise and fall of their bodies with total focus.
"Excuse me," a wimpy, hipster-sounding dude said hesitantly from behind him, " but do you know when they're bringing out more waters?"
Mickey didn't even bother to look.
"Get lost," he answered, waving a hand in the guy's general direction.  "Go drink outa the bathroom sink like a normal fucking person and let me watch my show."
---
The third time, he was pretty sure Ian was catching on.
Not that he cared, honestly--the view was fucking worth it.
"You call that a bench press?" He goaded his husband from behind the bench.  "Kev's kickin' your ass, man, that's just embarassing."
Ian glowered, breath hissing out between his teeth as he pushed up again.
"I'm pretty much pressing you right now," he gritted out, "so I'm feeling pretty good about it, actually."
Mickey hid his grin behind a hand, feigning disinterest even as his eyes followed Ian's bulging arms up and down, lingering on the tight plane of his chest.
"Well he's pressing like two of me," Mickey countered, letting his eyes wander, "so you might wanna step it up, tough guy."
Sure enough, Kev's current weights were at least half again what Ian had, and he was doing an admirable job of lifting them considering that his gigantic self was too big for the bench.  Mickey hadn't considered that when he invited Kev to check out the gym at their new place; it was designed for recreational exercise, not fucking seven foot tall body builders.  The man's legs stretched out awkwardly off the bottom of the bench, knees bent but stuck up far too high for proper form.  His broad shoulders dwarfed the other end, making it look like his upper body was just suspended there.
Mickey licked his lips, watching the shift of muscles under Kev's tanned skin--thank the lord the man shared his aversion to sleeves--and almost got chinned when he leaned too far over Ian's station.
The bar slotted into place without his help, Ian sitting up and wiping his face with a hand.
"Why don't you spot him for a while, then," Ian said. "While I go hit the shower."
He stood, making his way to the door, and Mickey paused, torn.
"Or I could give you a practical demonstration of my ability to lift you," Ian added over his shoulder, and Mickey was making his excuses to their guest and chasing after him before Kev could even finish another rep.
---
Ian never brought it up, after that, but Mickey still decided to cool it, just a little. Ian had seemed a little jealous, at the gym, although you'd never have known it by the things he said later--bet you like it when people look like they can throw you around, Mick--and Mickey did not need to throw a wrench into their marriage just for a little extra eye candy.
But then they were all at the pool together, the Gallaghers plus Mickey, plus Tami, plus Kev and Vee, and he really couldn't help it.
"Damn our men are hot," Tami had commented, sitting in a white plastic chair next to Mickey.
Mickey leaned back with a grin, taking a swig of lukewarm beer, and said, "You think that's hot?" nodding to where Ian and Lip were splashing each other over Franny's head in the shallow end.
"Watch this," he finished, and cupped a hand over his mouth to help his voice carry.
"Hey Ian," he shouted. "Bet Kev could beat you in a race."
"Hell yeah!" Kev called back from where he was manning the grill. "Name the time, man!"
Mickey could see Ian roll his eyes, and worried for the briefest of moments that his husband was done humoring him. But after a brief, hushed word with his brother, Ian was swimming to the side of the pool nearest Kev, saying "right now, backstroke, three laps," and Mickey was falling in love all over again.
"You do this a lot?" Tami asked, amused, as Kev stripped off his shirt and jumped in to take his place at the wall of the pool.
Mickey waited until they were off, arms wheeling wildly through the water and sending the sparkling spray onto sculpted, heaving chests, to answer.
"Define a lot," he said, not looking away from the spectacle as Ian and Kev hit the wall and turned, their swimsuits flashing through the water.
Tami snickered.
"Got it," she said, then, "thanks for sharing the wealth."
The race finished, Ian and Kev lifting themselves out of the pool, water running down their bodies as they clasped hands and went in for a shoulder-slapping bro hug. Ian looked back to where Mickey sat, and smirked.
"No problem," Mickey murmured, watching closely.
Ian leaned up to say something into Kev's ear, and Mickey squinted, like that would somehow help him hear it.
"Ogling the competition, Milkovich?" Lip's voice came from behind, and Mickey nearly fell out of his chair.
"The fuck are you talkin about?" he demanded, twisting around in his chair to look at Lip's knowing smirk.
"Nothing," Lip answered innocently. "Just noticed you've been watching Kev a lot lately."
Mickey scowled.
"And what's it to you?" he challenged. "Nothing at all," Lip said. "Just an observation." His grin widened. "And a distraction."
Mickey's eyes narrowed.
"A distraction from wha--argh!"
He cut off as he was lifted by two pairs of string arms, familiar ones wrapped under his own and different, strong hands holding his feet. He flailed, barely registering the flash of green eyes and a mostly bald head, before he hit the water with a splash.
By the time he surfaced, snorting chlorinated pool water out of his nose, it was to see two grinning faces looking down at him.
"Thought you might need to cool off after watching us," Ian said with a grin, laughing when Mickey tried to splash water into his face.
"Next time you want a show," Kev added, "just ask, man." He waggled his eyebrows. "I learned a few things when I worked that gay club."
Ian laughed again at Mickey's shocked expression.
"You need to work on your poker face, Mick," he said. "But it's okay, we don't mind."
He winked, then turned to walk away, leaving Mickey floating in the pool. Kev left with him, hips swaying slightly, and Mickey bit his lip and watched them go.
"Really?" Lip asked from the side of the pool, sounding disgusted, and Mickey just shrugged without looking back.
After all, if they didn't mind...

“Mr. Coffee-Shop-Hotshot”
Pairing: Hikaru Hitachiin x f!reader Genre: fluff, angst, smut Warnings: jealous and possessive Hikaru, unprotected sex (wrap it up), a dash of degradation, choking, and I think that’s it lmao Summary: You’ve been dating Hikaru since high school but that doesn’t stop him from getting jealous of your coworker at the coffee shop Word Count: 4.1k words  A/N: characters are aged up!! Prompt #72 from my 1k Followers Event: “You’re Mine.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You and Hikaru have been sweethearts since high school. The thing is, when you two first started dating, no one thought it was going to last, seeing as how you two were literally enemies until Hikaru kissed you to shut you up. After that kiss, you two avoided each other until Kaoru tried talking to you while pretending to be Hikaru. You weren’t blind though. You could tell it was Kaoru instead of his twin. You played along until the end though, only revealing you knew it was really him until he got his point across. His point was “I’m sorry for treating you so poorly. I’m just not very good with feelings and I didn’t know how to face you after the kiss without arguing with you.” You figured that Kaoru wouldn’t say something like that unless Hikaru felt that way himself. So, you grew a pair and talked to Hikaru after he was done with the Host Club.
“It appears I’m going to be the man in this relationship.” was the first thing you said to him, to which he scoffed at because A. if anyone is going to be the man, it’s him and B. who says you two are in a relationship?
You just kissed him and that easily proved your point. From then on, you two started dating, to everyone’s surprise. Just because you two were dating though doesn’t mean you two stopped fighting. While everyone else has their honeymoon phase, you two went right to the old married couple stage. They weren’t ever serious fights though. One time you two argued about who had better eyes. Hikaru couldn’t admit to you that it was definitely you and you couldn’t admit to him that it was actually him, so you both claimed that it was yourselves.
After that phase ended though, you two went into the honeymoon phase, which just confused everyone, including you and Hikaru. Suddenly, him leaving his used cup on your bedside table didn’t bother you anymore. You’ll just bring it down with you when you go downstairs. Hikaru realized that he didn’t mind you having your clothes thrown out in every other direction in his room anymore. His maid will just clean it up anyway. No harm done.
The honeymoon ‘phase’ was more annoying to everyone than the old married couple phase. Now, instead of you two arguing who wants the last piece of candy, you two are ‘arguing’ about who gets to kiss who last. It makes everyone gag. Honey senpai seems to think it’s really sweet though.
That was four years ago and now, you two are just as bad now as you were back then. Everyone, luckily and unluckily, decided to go to the same university. It is way out of your price range but that wasn’t going to stop your boyfriend of four years from getting you to go there. “I’ll pay off all your bills, babe. Don’t worry,” he’ll always reassure you despite your worries and nagging. You refuse to let him pay for it all though, so you got a job.
It was actually pretty easy to nail the job, seeing as how it’s at the coffee shop where you and the gang always went for energy boosters and to study. You were already friends with the manager from going in there so much, so when you asked if they were hiring, they practically hired you on the spot.
Hikaru didn’t like you having a job though.
“Why do you even work here? I can pay for everything, babe. You don’t have to worry about it. So why don’t you just quit? I miss hanging out with you,” he complains every time you leave for work, when he shows up to your work, and when you come back to your shared apartment. His argument, in your royal opinion, is stupid. If anything, you see him too much as it is. I mean, you already live with the guy and have half of your classes with him. What more does he want from you?
It took him a month to finally accept the fact that yes, you will pay for things yourself, and no, you are not quitting just because he wants you to. Once he realizes that you can secretly give him free coffee though, not that price ever mattered to him, he was happy. “Okay, but I also want a free muffin,” he finally agreed.
It was like that for maybe half a year before new problems started to arise. Your boss hired a new guy who you don’t even know the name of yet but, oh, Hikaru hates him already. “I don’t like him. He smells like too much Axe body spray and he has a weird, purple piercing in his eyebrow. And! And, he has a tattoo. A tattoo! Who does he think he is,” Hikaru complains to you while you try to do homework. He had gotten your schedule mixed up and when he went to go see you on your day off, he ran into the new guy. You weren’t surprised that he could tell he’s new since Hikaru is practically there as much as you are. He knows everyone and, of course, everyone loves him.
Not this guy though, apparently.
“When he gave me my coffee, it tasted off! Then, I realized, he didn’t add sugar! I didn’t say anything about sugar!” he continues to rant, making you sigh and set your pencil down. You turn to face him now, placing your hand over his and soothingly rubbing your thumb over his smooth skin.
“Baby, I’m sure it was an accident. He’s new, remember? I’m sure he just forgot to add it,” you reassure, giving his cheek a kiss once he takes a deep breath and lets it all go in one breath.
“Fine. I guess you’re right. But if he messes up again, I won’t hesitate to say something next time!” You giggle at this and nod your head, giving him a proper kiss this time to relax him even more.
“Okay, baby. You do that,” you tease before going back to your homework. This, of course, was just not okay.
“Babe, we’ve been studying for hours. Let’s take a break,” he coos, moving closer to you and starting to place kisses along your neck. You try to ignore him and focus but your boyfriend knows you too well. Knows your body too well.
“You mean I’ve been studying for hours. You’ve just been talking and playing on your phone,” you tease, a gasp ripping from you when he sucks and nibbles on your sweet spot. You feel him smirk against your skin, his hands coming to squeeze your thighs.
“Fair point. Makeout with me a little and then, and only then, will I study,” he bargains, making you roll your eyes.
“Fat chance,” you decline him as you playfully push him away, making him whine loudly.
“But baby—”
“No. Study and then, and only then, will I makeout with you,” you bargain right back, a smirk of your own coming to your face.
“You’re wicked,” he says with a dramatic gasp and a hand across his heart. When you don’t reply or even react, he groans before finally picking up his pencil. “Fine! You better take your shirt off too then,” he snaps before focusing on his work. Most of your study sessions go like this.
The next day at work, the new guy, Ritsu, came in in the middle of your shift. Your boss introduced the two of you once he put his stuff away in his locker, the guy seeming nervous for his next shift today. You smile at him and shake his hand, reassuring him that you’ll help him out today. He seems to relax at this, thanking you before starting to get to work. Whenever he had a question or messed up, you were right there to help him. The day, overall, went pretty smoothly you think.
At the end of your shifts, he grabs his things from his locker before walking to the front with you. “Do you need a ride home?” he asks as he walks over to his motorcycle. You smile at him but shake your head, taking your phone out of your pocket to check your messages.
“No, that’s okay. My boyfriend is picking me up and taking me out to dinner. Thank you though!” you reply with a sweet smile, Ritsu flashing you a smile back as he climbs onto his motorcycle.
“Okay, good. I didn’t want you walking home alone at night. I heard there was a robbery a couple of roads away from here,” he explains as he pulls his helmet on.
“Oh yeah. It was at the corner gas station. That’s so sweet of you to think of me though. I’ll be sure to let you know if I ever need a ride!” you thank once more. He nods as he turns the vehicle on, bidding you farewell with a salute before pulling out of the parking lot and onto the road.
You check the time and see that you have a few minutes until your boyfriend gets there. Luckily, he seemed to have left early because, within the next minute, he’s stopping right in front of you. “Well, hello there, good lookin’. Do you need a ride?” he playfully flirts. You hum and pretend to think about it as you walk over to his window.
“Well, I don’t know. Are you going to show me a good time?” you playfully flirt right back. He hums as he happily lets his eyes trail over your body despite your hideous work clothes. He didn’t seem to mind them though.
“Oh, you have no idea, baby. Don’t tell my girlfriend though.” You scoff as you burst into a fit of giggles, lightly hitting his arm before going to the passenger side.
“Well, that depends. Am I prettier than her?” you reply, batting your eyelashes at him as you slide into the car and pull your seatbelt over your body. He hums and nods his head, putting the car in reverse as he replies.
“Oh, most definitely. She’s like a fat cow,” he jokes, making you scoff and hit him again.
“I don’t think your girlfriend would appreciate you saying such things about her. What if I decide to tell her what you said about her?” you argue, crossing your arms over your chest as if you’re mad at him. You know for a fact that he’d never cheat on you. You always tease him that he’s too obsessed with you. ‘I love you! I’m not obsessed with you! There’s a difference!’ he’d always argue to your joking jab.
Before he can leave the parking spot, he stops the car to look at you with this new glint in his eyes. “What if I eat you out so good that you can’t even remember your own name, let alone mine?” he whispers right into your ear, his tongue licking around the shell of your ear. You let out a shaky breath, not expecting his sudden change in this little game you two were playing.
“I doubt you’re any good,” you sass, it lacking the power that you want it to have. He pulls away from the side of your head to make eye contact with you again, his eyes shining with a newfound lust.
“Well, I’ve only ever been with my girlfriend, so it’s possible. You should hear the way she screams my name though. She’ll cum three times from my mouth and fingers alone before I even give what she really wants inside of her,” he says lowly, your eyes moving to watch his lips as he talks. You press your legs together, already starting to feel arousal bubbling low in your gut.
“Is she any good in bed?” you decide to ask, bringing the attention off of him. You wait for him to say something along the lines of ‘no, she’s horrible’ but it seems he decides to stop playing your little game all of a sudden.
“She’s better than good. She sucks me off like I’m a popsicle and she just got out of the desert. She’s always so desperate to unravel me but I never do only because I know it works her up even more. She then starts acting like a brat, trying to get her way. We both know that’s just her way of annoying me to the point that I punish her. Mmhm, her screams sound so good when her face is shoved into our mattress,” he replies, his voice dropping an octave or two. You gulp at this, feeling your panties dampen with your slick.
“No wonder she’s your girlfriend,” you whisper, your throat suddenly too dry for your liking. He only hums before continuing with his driving, grabbing your hand and kissing the back of it once you two get on the road.
“What do you want to eat? I’m kind of in the mood for Mexican,” he says to you as if he didn’t just make you so horny that the only thing you can think about is having him inside of your mouth instead of food.
“That sounds fine,” you say softly, trying to think of anything but that. He smirks at the way you sound, which is slightly wrecked, and starts to head in the direction of a Mexican restaurant that you two like. That night ended, of course, with him deep inside of you and grunting out all sorts of deliciously dark things into your ear.
Things continued on like normal for a while. You went to work but didn’t get to work with Ritsu again for a week, so Hikaru never ran into him again. The day you did work with him though, he seemed to be struggling more than usual. So, when there was a break in customers, you decide to ask him what was up.
“Sorry. I got into this fight with my girlfriend, Mei, this morning,” he explains, a frown hanging heavy on his face. You nod your head, only too familiar with that feeling. You and Hikaru don’t have serious fights a lot but you, obviously, have them just like every other couple.
“It’s okay. I understand. Do you want to talk about it? Maybe I can give you my opinion or some advice?” you offer, wanting to help him feel better. He thinks about your offer for a moment before sighing and giving in, starting to tell you everything that had happened that morning. You two occasionally pause to help a customer but always end up focusing back on his situation. As a woman yourself, you look at his story from her point of view and figure out what might be the cause of her frustrations.
“Okay,” you say once he finishes his story, “I think I see what the problem is.” You then tell him what you think and what he should do to mend their relationship. After hearing your advice, he realized what he did wrong and gets so excited that he hugs you.
“Thank you so much! It all makes sense now! No wonder she was so upset! You’re seriously a lifesaver! I owe you one!” He hugs you tightly, making you giggle and return the hug.
“It’s no problem at all,” you reassure. You two pull away when you hear the bell ring, automatic smiles coming to your face to greet your new customer. Your eyes widened when you saw your boyfriend instead though. A very angry and brooding boyfriend at that. “Babe? What are you doing here? I thought you weren’t going to be here for another hour?” you ask confusedly, walking around the counter to give him your usual hug and kiss.
His eyes are on Ritsu though.
“Oh, I’m sorry. Do you not want me here? Am I interrupting something?” he snaps, his eyes squinting at Ritsu as he says this. Your brows furrow at his words, stopping in front of him and dropping your arms since it’s obvious that he’s not going to give you a hug.
“What? Well, I’m working but—”
“Oh, sorry to bother you then. I’ll let you get right back to it,” he snaps, turning his glare to you before leaving without another word. He doesn’t stop or turn around when you call after him either, making you sigh as a frown comes to your face.
“What’s up with him?” you mumble, trying to think as to why he would be mad. That’s when it hit you. You hugging Ritsu? Did that upset him? But why? You hug guys all of the time. Well, not all of the time. And then again, they’re his friends too or your family. You snap out of your daze when the bell jingles again, signaling a new customer. You sigh and go back behind the counter, smiling and greeting the customer happily. Guess you’ll just have to talk to him about it later then.
When you get off work and you get back home, you find that Hikaru isn’t home. You think back to what he was telling you yesterday, remembering him telling you his plans for today. You check the time on the microwave before looking at your fridge for any notes. He doesn't have any plans right now that you are aware of and he didn’t leave a note telling you where he was going or when he’ll be back. Maybe there was an emergency? That just makes you worry more though.
You let it go with a heavy exhale, trying not to read too much into it. You don’t have to know where he is every second of every day.
You go to your bathroom to take a shower and get the smell of coffee off of you. You end up accidentally using his body wash though, the smell of cinnamon and ginger filling your nostrils. It’s not your favorite but it’s what he’s been using for years. He pulls off the smell really well though.
You step out of the shower and wrap yourself up in a baby blue towel, leaning against the sink to look at your skin in the mirror. After applying some lotion to your body to make you feel extra nice, you leave the bathroom. You stop at the door though when you find Hikaru sitting on the bed, his feet still on the floor and his hands hanging between his knees. Now you’re even more concerned. Normally, he would’ve jumped at the opportunity to take a shower with you but now he won’t even look at you.
“Hikaru,” you call out softly to him, seeming to bring him out of his daze. You walk over to him and come to stand in between his legs, making him sit up straighter. His eyes glaze over your bare collarbones and neck, something spurring to life in his eyes as water droplets cascade down your soft skin.
“You’re mine,” he says suddenly, his eyes snapping to yours. Your eyes widen a bit at this random declaration, your brow raising curiously at him.
“What?” is your brilliant reply to him. You gasp when he stands and switches your positions in a flash, the back of your knees hitting the bed before you fall back onto it. You gape up at him, your hands clinging to the front of your towel.
“You heard me. You’re mine!” he growls, his hands snagging your towel away from you before you can even attempt to stop him. His eyes wander your body, a dark look in his eyes as he takes his sweet time admiring your naked body.
“Hikaru,” you breathe his name, goosebumps crawling over your flesh. He hums in response, one of his knees coming to the bed so he can lean over you, his fingers starting to trace random lines and patterns into your skin.
“That’s right. Say my name, baby,” he coos, his fingers coming to tweak your nipples. You moan his name in response, back arching up into his hands. He watches you with attentive eyes, not daring to look away from your lewd expressions or wet hole for even a second. He loves how quickly you react to his touch, your body always craving his as much as his craves yours. “Who do you belong to?” he asks as he crawls completely over you, staring into your eyes as he lets his hands crawl down your body.
“You,” you whisper breathlessly.
“Who?” he growls, suddenly shoving two of his fingers into your drooling heat.
“You, Hikaru!” you cry, back arching when he slips a third finger in. He hums lowly as he pumps his fingers in and out of you, scraping the pads of his fingers against your g-spot to get you really moaning for him.
“That’s right, baby. You’re all mine, now and forever,” he whispers before pulling his fingers out, making you whimper. He brings his dry hand up to your throat, squeezing it lightly as he stares into your eyes. “Shut up! Dirty whores like you don’t get to cum until I say so,” he hisses, not letting your neck go as he uses his other hand to remove his pants and boxers. “‘M gonna fill you up, remind you that you only belong to me,” he mumbles, his hand frantically trying to pull his member free.
Your brows furrow at this as you bring your hands up to his chest. Before you can question him though, he starts to push into you. You both groan in sync as he slips inside, your eyes rolling back into your head for a moment. You forget about his words for now, your brain only thinking about the way he feels inside of you.
He just barely bottoms out before he’s already pulling back to thrust back in, starting a frantic pace. You moan his name loudly, your nails lightly scratching his chest, causing him to hiss. He keeps up the frenzied pace, your breasts bouncing with each thrust.
You both cum almost at the same time, Hikaru finally giving you permission to cum after denying you your orgasm over and over again. He keeps true to his word, pushing deep inside of you and coating your walls white. He stays inside of you for a while, his chest heaving as he tries to get air back. He slowly releases your throat, and instead brushes his fingers against your cheek.
“I’m sorry,” he whispers, his eyes shining with regret. You’re confused for a moment, thinking that that’s some of the best sex you’ve ever had. Then you remember his words from before, how he kept saying you’re his and that no one is going to take you from him.
“What’s going on, my love?” you whisper, still a little breathless. He looks away from you, starting to worry his lip between his teeth.
“Don’t leave me for him,” he whispers, and if you weren’t just a couple of inches away from him, you wouldn’t have heard it. He pulls out of you then and moves to lay beside you, putting his back to you.
“What? Hey. Hey, look at me,” you say worriedly, pushing yourself up onto your elbow as you use your free hand to gently trace random shapes into his back. It takes him a minute but he eventually turns onto his back, staring at the ceiling instead of you. “What’s all this ‘leaving me’ talk about? We’ve been dating for years, Hikaru. Why would I want to leave you for someone else?” you ask with furrowed brows, starting to run your hand through his hair to help soothe him. He leans into your touch, his eyes finally meeting yours. Despite your reassuring words, he looks scared, worried.
“What about Mr. Coffee-Shop-Hotshot? You seemed to like him a lot,” he grumbles, his mouth turning into a scowl just at the thought of the man. You can’t help but smile at how jealous he is, your heart swelling with the amount of love you hold for the man before you.
“You dope, he was asking me for advice about his girlfriend. That hug happened because he was thanking me for basically saving his relationship,” you inform, a smirk on your face as you watch the realization come over his face.
“Oh,” he squeaks out, his face turning sheepish and red. You snort and move to lay your head down on his chest.
“You’re such an idiot. You should know by now that you’re the one for me, idiot and all,” you tease, gently rubbing his chest and abdomen. He huffs and wraps his arms around you, holding you tightly to him.
“Whatever. As if you wouldn’t get upset if I was hugging another girl,” he accuses.
“You act as if another girl would even come near someone as ugly as you,” you tease, obviously joking.
“Hey!”

youtuber Sukuna pt2
I wonder what things will happen in this part? I hope there's sparknotes, I don’t feel like reading all these words…
Content warning: *more* mean internet comments, Sukuna doxxing ppl(idk if that needs a warning?? But just in case)
part 1 --- part 3
Being a Youtuber was a lot more work than Sukuna thought it was. When he’d picked you up early in the morning, he wasn’t expecting you to come out with such a fancy camera and microphone. You looked cute as all hell too, hair styled nicely and your outfit was perfect for a day at a countryside cafe.
“Thanks for driving!” You said, climbing into his car and smiling at him. Sukuna could smell your perfume  as it wafted off your body and he immediately felt the urge to buy a bottle as well and spray his pillow with it.
“S’no problem.” He muttered, driving off as soon as you were secure. He’d looked up the place beforehand, reading their menu over and over so he’d know what to order. Slowing down at a red light, he glanced over at you taking pictures.
He wished he could ask you to send them to him so he could save them in the never ending folder he had, but he couldn’t. It would be weird, you werent exactly close, and it’s not like you shared any pictures anyway.
“Hey Sukuna, what’s my contact photo on your phone?” The question came out of nowhere and he looked at you in confusion.
“Contact photo? You don’t have one.”
“What, really? I’ll send you a picture then! And add a few cute emojis with my name.” Well, that was easy. He wasn’t expecting you to offer to send him a picture, but he wasn’t going to decline it.
“Okay, I will.” Turning his attention back on the road, Sukuna turned the radio on to fill the silence. “Should I...send you a picture of me?” He had the perfect picture in mind to send you, it was a thirst trap he’d snapped post-shower after a really good day at the gym. A towel hung low on his hips and he still had a few droplets of water on his skin and dripping down from his hair.
“Yes!”
The drive to the cafe was quick and easy, not a lot of traffic early in the morning. The sun was just beginning to settle in the sky and the dew on the grass was fading. The cafe you’d chosen was in a small countryside town, barley fields just a few yards away and farmers with their dogs walking by.
“This the place?” Sukuna asked, pulling into the small parking lot in confusion.
“Yup! I’m so excited!” Hopping out of the car, your camera was immediately put to work filming the surrounding area. It was peacefully silent all around you, the only sound the occasional breeze or dog barking in the distance.
Panning the camera to yourself, you took a quick couple breaths and babbled a few times before speaking properly.
“Hi everyone, as you can see we’re in a different place today! Me and Sukuna are at a cafe in the countryside that I saw online and fell in love with. Say hi Sukuna!”
“Hi.” He was standing at the edge of the lot where a field of wispy tall purple grass started. He waved dumbly, feeling like a dumb kid taken to Disneyworld.
“This is the name of the cafe…” Turning your attention elsewhere, you filmed the rest of your intro. Once again, Sukuna was amazed at the proficiency at which you did things and how smoothly he knew the shots would look.
Looking at the cafe on the outside, it didn’t look like anything special. It was a wooden and concrete building with two large windows. He could see the minimalist decor and furniture inside was wooden as well, probably handcrafted by someone in the town.
“All finished, let’s go in.” Waving him on, Sukuna jogged to be the first to the door to open it for you. Filming as you walked in, when Sukuna entered, he still didn’t understand the hype you’d placed around it.
The air smelt like a strong tea and the humidity was definitely higher. He was right in thinking that all the furniture was handcrafted, all the chairs and tables had a rough quality to them only achievable with a human touch.
“Look, this is what I came here for!” You were standing right at the dessert case, pointing your camera at whatever you were looking at.
“Why is it...?” Sukuna looked at it in confusion. There was an airbrushed cake shaped exactly like the peach emoji sitting in the case with a realistic leaf and stem as well and you looked inexplicably happy over it.
“The owner makes these cakes herself, and she’s doing a cute emoji series!” Bouncing on your heels, you tugged on his sleeve. “I’m totally getting a slice, what’re you getting?” Suddenly, the research he’d done the night prior meant nothing as he looked at the cake.
“I have no idea.”
“You’ve got time to think about it, I’m gonna ask the owner a few questions for the video.” Leaving him at the case, Sukuna saw you go up to the owner waiting at the counter from the corner of his eye. Since the two of you were the only ones here, he could hear your excited voice gushing about the cakes and decor.
Fifteen minutes later, you and Sukuna were seated right in the corner of the cafe, where the two windows intersected on the building. Not one for sweets, Sukuna got a plain poppyseed muffin and a hot tea; the cafe didn’t serve coffee.
Setting up the camera on the table next to you, you took a bite of your cake and loved it, immediately singing its praises to the camera. Sukuna ate as well, trying not to be too stiff as you spoke.
“Sukuna, you should try this too!” Holding up your fork filled with cake, you held it out to him.
“Hm, okay.” Grabbing your hand as well, he expected you to let go of the fork. But as he guided it to his mouth, you didn’t, and you were staring right at him as it went into his mouth. “Why ya staring?” He mumbled, feeling his ears burn.
“I need to know if you like it.” Sukuna didn’t let go of your hand as he chewed and you didn’t make a move to remove it either. You were too focused on his reaction to care, waiting on the edge of your seat for him to say something.
“It’s a peach flavored cake.” He nodded, snorting when you motioned him to say more. “It’s too sweet for me, but if you like it then I like it.”
“Good enough for me!” Finally you pulled away from him and put the fork down, turning to the camera and pointing in his direction. “Can you believe Sukuna doesn’t like sweets? He’s like an old man, he only got a muffin.”
“Please, could an old man deadlift almost 300lbs?” Sukuna scoffed, slapping his chest and flexing his arm.
“That’s so much! You have to train me some day Sukuna, I wanna lift that much!” Your shocked face made Sukuna smirk and he flexed the other arm as well. Your wide eyes got even wider, bouncing between both his arms.
“Anytime, (Y/N).” Sukuna felt confident enough to wink at you, and he saw the way your face faltered at it. Ducking your head away, you pretended to fiddle with the camera, the tips of your fingers shaking slightly.
It was afternoon by the time you finished in the cafe, walking out into the warmth of the sun. Looking out, all the land surrounding the cafe was flat, covered in fields of barley or tall grasses.
“Hey Sukuna…” There you were, touching the purple grass with your fingers.
“What?”
“Will you take a few pictures for me? For Instagram?”
“I don’t think I’ll be any good.” Sukuna barely knew how to take pictures of himself let alone another person.
“That’s okay, just try your best!” Putting another camera in his hand, you grabbed his wrist and tugged him to join you deeper in the field. “That camera is pretty simple, just point and click.”
“Alright.” Holding it up, he immediately snapped a picture of you.
“Wait for me to pose!” You laughed. Sukuna chuckled as well, and when you were ready, he took the pictures. He took as many as he could, clicking the button over and over.
“Take a look.” Twenty minutes later he was handing the camera back at you. Looking through the pictures, you instantly burst into laughter.
“Sukuna, why’d you take a picture of the sun? My head is in the corner, it looks like a toe!”
“I told you it’d be bad!” He couldn’t help but laugh as well. You really did look like a toe in the corner of the screen.
“Oh my god, I’m taking you to a photography class, some of these are too much.” Giggling your way through the rest of the pictures, you put the camera back in his hand. “Let’s take a couple together!”
Sukunas heart leapt for joy. He would be able to take a picture with you. It felt like he was a fan of yours and not someone you knew on a personal level.
“You’re gonna hold the camera, your arms are longer.” Flipping the viewfinder up, you slided up to Sukunas side. He muttered something unintelligible, too busy looking at the two of you together. He could almost imagine you were a couple.
“Sukuna, hold the camera like this.” His hand had gone limp, casting a bad angle on the two of you.
“Don’t face that way, the light will make you look bad.” In one of the pictures, you’d changed poses.
“I know you only take serious gym pictures but smile for this one!” His face had dropped down to a scowl, his normal resting face. After who knows how long, he was finally free from taking pictures.
Wandering back to the car, it was silent as the both of you settled in. You were busy looking over the photos and Sukuna was busy watching you from the corner of his eye.
“Anything else you wanna do here?” He asked after a while of pretending to look on Twitter.
“Mmmm, we can drive around some more! I don’t really know what else is out here.”
Sukuna drove you through the countryside town, marvelling at the farmers and all their animals. You stopped to get a couple handmade candies from an old man, and Sukuna made sure to pick up some food that wasn’t just sweets for you. Eating at a small restaurant, when you hit the road again it was nearly evening.
Driving back in near silence, somewhere along the way you fell asleep. Your head rested against the window, jostled a few times by the road or a turn. Sukuna couldn’t help but look at you any chance he could, and although he felt like a major creep, he couldn’t stop himself from taking a picture of you.
“You’ve gotta be fucking kidding.” Sukuna groaned as he got closer to the city, coming upon a wall of traffic. Far ahead up the road there was an accident that wasn’t going to be cleared away anytime soon.
“What’s up?” You asked with a loud yawn, stretching out your arms and legs as best you could.
“Traffic.” Leaning his head out the window, he let out another groan. “Might as well put the fucking car in park.” Shifting the gear and sinking low into his seat, Sukuna sighed. It’s not that he hated traffic, but he wanted every moment of this outing to be perfect, and this was seriously hindering it.
“Do you want me to send you some of the pictures we took together for your Instagram as well?”
“Yeah, send ‘em over.” At least Sukuna could stare at the two of you together to pass the time. The amount of pictures you sent him was seemingly endless and included a few he didn’t know you’d taken of him eating and looking out the window.
“How long do you think we’ll be here?” You whined, kicking your feet out in boredom.
“At least an hour.”
It was quiet for a few minutes, the sound of the radio and other cars around you filling the background. Sukuna could see you fiddling with your phone, opening and closing apps. He could see you getting antsy.
“I’m already so bored.” There it was. Your pitiful whine accentuated with your head pushed back. Sukunas fingers itched to reach out and squeeze your cheek, it was glowing from the sun. “I think I’m gonna get on Instagram live or something so I can complain more.”
Laughing at your honesty, as soon as you went live Sukuna got the notification on his phone. Your head was tilted away from him, only your side of the car showed. Waving at the camera a few times, you smiled really big.
“Hi everyone! I’m stuck in traffic!” Your eyes flicked across the screen, reading the many comments coming in. “Hm, what do you mean who’s car am I in? I bought this car!”
“Liar.” Sukuna mumbled with a cheeky grin getting bigger when you tried to hide your own chuckle.
“I swear I bought this car!” You couldn’t keep the lie going, and broke down in giggles the more Sukuna looked at you. “Alright, I’m in Sukunas car.” Panning the phone out, he saw himself on screen.
“Hi.” He waved, reading the comments asking if you were on a date. “Don’t you remember from the last live? We aren’t on a date we’re filming some fucking vlog.”
“It’ll be up soon! You’ll all really enjoy it, Sukuna was a great guest.”
“The best.” He nodded along. You responded to a few more comments, but there were some that kept coming up.
‘(Y/N) kiss Sukuna’
‘(Y/N) kiss Sukuna’
‘(Y/N) kiss Sukuna’
“Stop spamming that fucking message like a weirdo.” Sukuna finally snapped. You had done a great job at ignoring the comment, but it was all Sukuna could see on the screen. “You’re gross to ask us to do that.” But Sukuna did wish he could kiss you. Ever since the first comment came through, he’d taken glances at your lips as you spoke.
“Oof, don’t make Sukuna mad, he’ll kill you.” You teased, and your hand went out to squeeze his arm. “He said he can deadlift almost 300lbs, so watch out.”
“That’s fucking right.” Flexing his arm proudly, Sukuna nearly put it around your shoulder, faltering at the last minute and landing on the center console with a thud.
‘It would be kind of cute to see them kiss…’
‘I bet Sukuna can’t even hug (Y/N)’
‘I bet after today they’ll come out and say they’re dating!’
Now all the comments were talking about the two of you dating, and how cute it would be if you really were. Biting his lip, Sukuna watched your reaction closely. Truly he had no problem with the comments, he wanted them to be true as well, but if you were uncomfortable he was ready to put everyone in their place.
“Gosh you guys ship us so hard.” You seemed okay with it, your face wasn’t tense and you were still making eye contact with Sukuna. “Are you going to subscribe to my channel if I kiss him?”
“What?” Sukunas eyes widened and the comments poured in promising life long dedication to you if you went through with it.
“Alright.” Setting your phone up on the dashboard, you turned to Sukuna. “I’ll be quick, okay?”
“What?” He parroted. His hands were getting clammy just thinking about it and the look in your eyes wasn’t helping. With a nervous lick of his lips Sukuna leant forward and had just begun to pucker his mouth when you loudly kissed your palm and pressed it to his cheek.
“There! I kissed Sukuna!” With a big grin on your face you kissed your hand again and put it on him. “I did it twice! Now go subscribe!”
“What the hell.” Sukuna mumbled to himself, feeling like an idiot for thinking you’d really kiss him. He spent the next fifteen minutes in a stupor, vaguely replying to comments and trying to get over the embarrassment he felt.
Dropping you off nearly an hour past the original time, when Sukuna got home he buried his face into his pillow and let out a short yell. The biting shame he felt at almost making himself a fool in front of thousands of people was still fresh. He knew there’d be fancams of the moment just waiting for him. A buzzing on his phone pulled him out of his thoughts.
(Y/N): you need to send me a picture for your contact photo!
That’s right, the picture. Sukuna didn’t even need to scroll that far to find it, it was in his favorites. Sending it to you without a second thought, he didn’t even have the mind to check your reaction. Leaving his phone on the bed, he rushed to the shower to cool off.
When he returned, there were a flurry of messages from you waiting to be read. Most of them were unreadable keyboard smashes and a few emojis.
(Y/N): SUKUNA!
(Y/N): you can’t just send me a picture like that!!
(Sukuna): why?
(Y/N): you know why!
He could practically hear your flustered little whine.
(Sukuna): enlighten me please
(Y/N): SWSGMLU
(Y/N): you’re such a bully!!
(Sukuna): haha sounds like someone's embarrassed
It was a long few minutes before you replied and Sukuna could see the typing bubbles appear and reappear several times.
(Y/N): I’M GOING TO BED
(Sukuna): you that tired? it’s only 9pm
(Y/N): YES GOODNIGHT
(Y/N): BYE BULLY
(Sukuna): lol goodnight then
In a week, the vlog was up and Sukuna made his debut into the world. He rewatched it several times over, in awe of how well you’d captured the countryside and translated it to video. He even screen recorded some parts, like when he was flexing for you, just to replay your reaction over and over.
In the weeks following, Sukuna watched your channel grow exponentially. Your number of subscribers wasn’t small, but it was nowhere near his, yet you made the leap to over a million and a half practically overnight. And with that new success, came a lot of pressure.
You’d recently taken up streaming, and Sukuna was at every single one. He had made a Twitch account just to watch you and he subscribed immediately, blushing when you read out his name and personally thanked him in a text a few minutes later.
Entering your stream as soon as it started, Sukuna was ready to sit and watch you do whatever. Usually, you played a game like the Sims, but sometimes you’d cook or put makeup on for a stream.
But this time was different. When your face appeared on the screen, you looked down. Almost as if you’d been fighting back tears. Immediately, Sukuna grabbed his phone, ready to call you and ask what was happening.
“Hey guys.” He could hear it in your voice that you were sad. It warbled and broke, and you sniffled a few times.
‘(Y/N) why’re you crying??’
‘What’s wrong?’
‘Did something happen? You can tell us, we’re here for you’
“No, don’t worry everyone it’s just…” A stray tear fell down your cheek and you wiped it away with a shaking hand. “I-I- just-” You quickly broke down crying, turning your chair completely away from the screen.
Sukuna was swiftly dialing your number. He had no idea what was wrong, you hadn’t told him anything was wrong, but he needed to know. He was prepared to go to your house if you needed him to.
“I’m okay, I promise.” Feverishly wiping your tears, you turned back to the camera. Taking several deep breaths, you didn’t look at the camera as you spoke. “I’ve just been getting a lot of hate comments recently and you know I always ignore it but-” Your voice caught, and Sukuna was glued to the screen. “It’s just been a lot honestly.”
‘(Y/N) WE LOVE YOU’
‘PLEASE DON’T CRY WE’RE HERE FOR YOU’
‘I bet it’s all of Sukunas fans, they’re so fucking gross’
‘Totally Sukuna fans, all the real fans love (Y/N) and would never do this’
“N-no, don’t blame Sukuna! He can’t control what people say!” It was totally his fans and he fucking knew it. His call had gone unanswered two times, but on the third time you answered. “Hello?”
“Put me on speaker.”
“But-”
“Put me on speaker!” He demanded. Sukunas blood was boiling, rage rolling over him in waves.
“Sukuna’s calling, I guess he has something to say.” Holding the phone close to the microphone, you kept wiping away tears.
“Listen here you insignificant dirtbags, stop leaving shitty little hate comments on (Y/N)s stuff. You’re all fucking piss poor losers who can’t even wipe your own asses, probably jerking each other off in a pathetic circle. Go get a fucking job, worthless pieces of shit. Don’t think this is something you can get away with either, I’m going to make sure you fucking regret the day you were born.” His voice was dripping with so much malice it scared you. While Sukuna was used to talking like this, you’d never heard it in person and you could tell he meant every word.
“Thanks Sukuna, but you don’t have to-”
“Tell me who they are. Where’d they leave the comments?” Angrily setting up a shitty webcam he had, Sukuna was preparing to do a livestream himself.
“I don’t know…”
“(Y/N).” Taking a pause, he stared at the screen. You were worrying your lip as you stared at your phone while the comments begged for you to tell him.
“Alright. Most of them are under the vlog we did together, and there’s a lot under my most recent Instagram pictures.”
“The ones with us together too?”
“Yeah, those are the worst ones.”
“Keep me on the line.” Sukuna had never been this angry in his life before and it showed in his actions. He was slamming things down in a rush to set up his stream and letting out frustrated noises in the back of his throat.
“Sukuna, what’re you doing?” You’d gotten your emotions under control enough to stop crying, your glassy eyes shining in the light of your room.
“I’m setting up my own stream.” Just as he spoke, his face appeared on the screen and he was live. “Tell everyone to send me screenshots of the hate comments, I’m going to teach these assholes a lesson.”
“I think they heard you.” Indeed they had. The phone was still close to the microphone, and now there were comments pouring in telling Sukuna they’d send links through his stream.
Clicking on almost all of the ones that popped up, his screen was bombarded with pictures of people leaving hateful comments on your posts. Many were saying that you didn’t deserve to be alive, to be so close to Sukuna, and many called you ugly or other mean names.
“Let’s see what this fucker looks like.” Going to one of the profiles on Twitter, Sukuna nearly spat on his screen looking at it. “This ugly sack of shit wants to leave some mean comments? Well it’s your lucky day bitch, you’re the first one to go.” It took Sukuna all of five minutes to find the person's Facebook account where they posted more personal information.
“Oh, that’s a pretty high brow uni you’re going to! It would really be a shame if I sent an email to the dean.” Sukuna said mockingly, already typing up a long email. “You’re not gonna be studying to be a doctor any fucking more. Have fun digging ditches bitch.”
Sukuna’s stream easily went from 200 viewers to nearly 40,000 just in the time it took him to dox the first person. The next one was even easier, and it snowballed from there. Sukuna had no qualms about sharing this personal information, from their addresses to their personal phone numbers to where they worked.
“You really don’t have to do all this.” You kept saying over the phone. You’d ended your own stream to calm down, but you didn’t hang up the phone.
“Yes I do.” Sukuna replied instantly. “People have no respect for others, it’s fucking gross. If they think they can get away with this they’re idiots.” So many comments were egging him on as well, with a lot of people promising to harass everyone exposed until they apologized. “I hope every single one of them loses everything.”
“Sukuna…” With a sigh, you sat back and watched him do it. There wasn't anything you could say to stop him, he was on a warpath and intent on causing harm. Eventually, you had to hang up the call as it got well into the night and he was still going.
“Keep sending the fucking links, I can do this all night.” Sukuna repeated several times, fighting off sleep. His eyes burned from staring at the screen for so long and his back had begun to ache but he wasn’t about to stop now. There were still so many people that had to pay.
After nearly eight hours of streaming himself doxing people, he finally stopped after his channel got banned. His manager had emailed as soon as the sun rose, frantically screaming at him to stop what he was doing or he could get sued.
(Sukuna): tell me right away if this happens again I’ll handle it
He texted you right after getting banned. His body hurt from exhaustion, he could truly pass out at any moment.
(Y/N): I will
(Y/N): sukuna...thanks for doing all that. It really meant a lot to know you care about me
(Sukuna): Of course I care about you
Sukuna was about to type out that he liked you, of course he did all of that and risked himself getting sued because he liked you and never wanted to see you cry again. Almost admitting to how he wanted nothing more than to give you a big hug, but stopping himself at the last moment.
(Y/N): you’re such a good friend Sukuna, thank you
(Sukuna): you’re welcome
It hurt to be put into that category, in the friendzone. It made his tongue curl in disgust, a rancid place that he wanted no part of. People that were in the friendzone were spineless and too weak to just confess their feelings - and Sukuna seemed to be one of them.
After that incident, you went on a break from all social media and Sukuna began to patrol your comments sections. He actively posted that he would start doxing people again if they said anything bad, citing all the damage he’d done to the previous victims. Sukuna had gotten what he wanted, all the people he exposed suffered in some way, most losing jobs and friends.
On a run to the grocery store, Sukuna was listening to a podcast you’d been on. He missed the content you posted, and while he did text you sporadically about Youtube stuff, he didn’t feel comfortable messaging you about anything else. His mind always stopped him, questioning him on if what he wanted to say was really worth your time.
“Hi Sukuna.” Standing at the bread section, Sukuna nearly jumped into the air hearing your voice pop up next to him. There you were in a baggy hoodie and sweats, looking every part an unnoticeable member of society.
“(Y/N)? W-what’re you doing here?”
“Hm? I’m shopping.” You chuckled, showing him your handbasket.
“Right.” Nodding slowly, Sukuna eyed you up. Your eyes were still a little puffy and he could see they were red as well. You looked tired and worn down, not your usual happy self. “Hey (Y/N).”
“Yeah?” You were unprepared for the heavy arm that landed around your shoulders and even more at being pulled into an embrace. Sukuna hugged you to his chest tightly, squeezing the back of your hoodie in his hands.
“I…” He could feel you relaxing into his arms, heaving a deep sigh like a weight had been lifted off your shoulders. “Don’t feel sad anymore.” Sukuna seemed to have a habit of saying the things he wanted to say in the worst way possible. What did that even mean? To tell you not to be sad anymore instead of offering something else, like his friendship, during this time. He wanted to tell you he’d be here for you.
“Thanks Sukuna.” Hugging him back just as tightly, he could hear you sniffle a few times. The hug lasted for a while, just standing in front of bread, and a good two minutes passed before you started to unwind yourself from him.
Keeping a loose arm around you, Sukuna kept you close, searching your face for any hint that you would possibly start crying. Your eyes were a little misty, and your lower lip quivered just a little, but you sent him a smile that made it all better.
“So, what’re you getting?” He asked, attempting to be casual.
“Well, I’m actually done shopping now and I just saw you standing here.” You admitted with a chuckle. “I know it’s been a while since we last spoke properly.” The last message you’d sent to each other was about a sim card two days ago.
“Don’t worry about it, you were going through stuff.” Shrugging his shoulder, Sukuna grabbed the bread he wanted. “I don’t want you to force yourself to talk to me if you don’t want to.”
“Sukuna, I want to talk to you more though! I know we only talk about Youtube stuff but I want us to be better friends.”
“Really?” Nearly crushing the bread in his hands, Sukuna quirked a brow at you.
“Yeah!”
“Well...alright then.” That made him really happy, like really really happy. You wanted to pursue a stronger relationship with him and while it wasn’t a romantic one like he hoped, he was still ecstatic on the inside.
“I have to go, but can we video call later? I have some things I wanna ask you.”
“Okay.” Giving you a brief wave, Sukuna watched you walk out of the aisle and out of sight. A silly smile stretched his cheeks at the thought of your call later, and it stayed on his face the whole way home.
Later that night, Sukuna was diligently waiting for your call. He kept his phone glued to his hand, something he didn’t normally do, just in case you called. At nearly 7pm on the dot, you called and Sukuna answered right away.
“Hi!” You weren’t in the baggy clothes anymore, it looked like you were in pajamas sitting on your couch.
“Hey.” Sukuna was sitting at his computer doing editing, so he didn’t have to worry about you seeing the lack of furniture in his home. All you had to look at was a blank wall behind him. “So, you wanted to ask me something?”
“Mhmm! I was wondering- well first, Sukuna do you watch anime?”
“Anime?” His face twisted up in mild disgust. “No, that shit is fucking lame.”
“Sukuna!”
“What? I’m not that much of a fucking loser to like anime.” Rolling his eyes, he immediately envisioned a man in his mothers basement jerking off to pixelated tits. “Why? Do you watch it?”
“Yeah…” Now you were embarrassed, and it showed on your face.
“Fine, you’re not a fucking loser.” Propping his phone up on his desk, he tipped his chair back and looked at the ceiling. “At least, not a total fucking loser.”
“Sukuna!” Now you were laughing at him, and he smirked at you. “You’re so mean, you know that?”
“Hey, that’s my brand ba-” He was about to call you baby, the word catching thickly in his throat. Luckily, he stopped himself and slammed his chair back down on the ground to cover it up.
“Well, now I don’t know if I want to ask you my question! You’re gonna say no right away.”
“Tell me.”
“No!” Shaking your head hard, you panned the phone up to your ceiling. “You’re definitely gonna bully me!”
“Who knew you were such a baby?” There, he’d called you baby like he wanted to. Not in the context that he desired, but he still got to say it.
“Am not!” Glaring at him, you exhaled shortly. “I was wondering if you wanted to come to this anime convention with me? It’s happening downtown in a few weeks and I’m a guest on a lot of panels this year. I want you to come with to help film stuff for me so I can make it into a highlights reel for my channel? As sort of a comeback video since I’ve been gone for a while.” It was amazing how you’d managed to say all of that so quickly without taking a breath.
“A convention?” Sukuna had only been to fitness conventions and a few that his manager made him go to.
“Yeah! And I wanted to know if you watched anime because I wanted to see if you’d cosplay with me!”
“Cosplay? What the fuck is that?” It sounded stupid.
“We would dress up as characters from an anime! Have you heard of demon slayer?” No, he hadn’t and his silence told you as much. “Look up Nezuko from demon slayer, that’s who I’m dressing up as!”
“Fine, one sec.” Quickly typing it into his computer, Sukuna’s brow rose seeing the character. “You’re gonna dress up as some BDSM girl?”
“It’s not BDSM!”
“Then why does she have that thing in her mouth?” What else could it be for?
“That’s because she’s a demon and they don’t want her to eat people!”
“God that’s lame.” Looking between his phone and the computer, Sukuna tried to imagine you in this outfit. It was cute, a cute pink kimono with a little hair tie and sash. The more Sukuna looked at it, the cuter it got. “But on you it’ll be cute.”
“So will you dress up with me?” You asked immediately, your eyes shining with excitement. “I already know what character you’ll be! There’s a boy named Inosuke that-”
“No way, save your breath. I’m not dressing up.” Doing a quick search of the boy in question, Sukuna let out a snort. “And why do you want me to dress up as someone with a boars head on? You saying I’m ugly?”
“You don’t have to wear the head!” The opportunity was quickly slipping through your fingers at seeing Sukuna cosplay. “It’s ‘cause you’re so fit and so is he! And you’re pretty similar too.”
“I don’t care if he was my twin.” Shaking his head, Sukuna closed the tab and crossed his arms over his chest. “I’ll tell ya what, I’ll come to this thing and take all the videos and pictures you want and in exchange, I won’t dress up.”
“Wait, how does that logic-”
“Just go with it. Now send me an email about the thing and I’ll clear my schedule.” Waving off any further questions you had, Sukuna quickly got the email for the convention. It was about two weeks from today, and it was going on for the whole weekend.
“So, do you think you’ll be able to make it?” You asked tentatively, worrying your lip.
“Of course.” Sukuna would definitely need to do some serious schedule rearranging. “I’ll pick you up like last time, just let me know the time.”
“You’re the best, Sukuna!” You smiled big at him and Sukuna smiled back. Maybe during the convention, he could show you he was more than just a friend.
When the day of the convention came, Sukuna got ready bright and early to pick you up. The sun had only just settled onto the horizon and he was chugging coffee before leaving.
“Hey.” You yawned loudly as you got in his car, still clearly half asleep.
“Cute.” Sukuna said in response. You looked absolutely adorable. The pink kimono looked good on you, the sash accentuating your waist well. The little green gag he’d seen earlier was hanging around your neck, and you had a cute pink ribbon in your hair.
“Hm? You like it?” Shuffling around, that was when Sukuna saw how high the slit was on your outfit, coming high up on your thigh. His eyes were glued to the skin that showed, unable to look away.
“I do.” He whispered, glancing at you briefly to see your eyes were closed.
“That’s good, I spent a lot of time on it.” Putting your seatbelt on, you yawned again and pointed lazily out the window. “To the convention!”
It was a short drive to the convention, and you were some of the first people there. With a badge around his neck, Sukuna followed you into the hall. You weren’t carrying the bag of camera equipment you’d brought, Sukuna insisted on carrying it so it wouldn’t ruin your costumes aesthetic.
“We’re here really early to get pictures! I booked with a professional photographer, and my pictures are going to be used as promo for a few brands here today.” You explained as Sukuna followed you into a room with a full photoshoot set up.
“Okay.” He was completely lost watching you begin to take pictures. After chugging an energy drink, you hopped straight into it. Sukuna made sure to watch the photographer closely, looking at the computer as the pictures popped up to make sure they weren’t indecent for you.
Nearly an hour and a half later and you were finally done. Sukuna had begun to film some parts of it for you per your request; his job as videographer started now.
“The convention hall is open now to everyone, it might be kind of overwhelming to see all the people out there.” You told him as the photographer was packing up.
“Eh, I’ll be fine.” With a shrug of his shoulders, Sukuna left the room and stepped out into the main hall. Immediately, he knew you were right. There were so many people already milling around dressed in costume, most from shows and games he’d never seen. The only readily identifiable characters for him were from Nintendo.
“Told you it was a lot.” Bumping him with your shoulder, walked out into the convention space. If Sukuna didn’t stand right behind you, he feared he would lose you in the crowd. There were other people dressed up as the same character and he couldn’t trust himself to differentiate between all of them.
Filming a little bit of walking around, Sukuna could hear and see people looking at him in shock. It wasn’t unknown that Sukuna had a distaste for anime and the whole culture surrounding it. Some of his most popular videos were him making fun of people at the very same thing he was at now.
“E-excuse me, (Y/N)?” A young teenage girl approached you, nervously fiddling with her phone.
“Hi!” You waved, immediately seeing her phone. “Do you want a picture?”
“Yes, please!” The girl's nerves quickly dissipated at your question, but she still looked scared of Sukuna.
“How about we take a few selfies?” Sliding next to her, you put an arm around her shoulder and posed. You and the girl took a numerous amount of pictures, and when she left she had a happy blush on her cheeks.
“Is that gonna happen often?” Sukuna asked, watching the girl disappear into the crowd.
“Yeah, sorry! I posted that I’d be going to this for the second and third day and a lot of people said they were gonna ask for pictures.” Rubbing the back of your head nervously, you sized up Sukunas face. “Sorry if it annoys you, I know it can be kind of tedious.”
“I don’t mind. Let's get going.” With a casual shrug, Sukuna walked to where your first panel was. He stayed off to the side as you talked to the organizers and other guests, feeling awkward that he couldn’t hold a conversation on whatever it was you were talking about.
The people soon filed into the panel, filling the seats and whispering excitedly about you and the other people sitting at the front of the room. Some of them noticed Sukuna and whispered about him too.
Ignoring them diligently, Sukuna filmed your panel from the back of the room. He didn’t need to worry about picking up any sound, you were speaking into a microphone. All he had to worry about was capturing good angles for you.
He did this for a few more panels as well, slowly getting more comfortable with people noticing him there. He even waved at a few fangirls that saw him, their faces erupting in a scarlet flush and giggling silly.
“We have almost two hours before my next panel, do you want to grab some food? I’ll pay.” Waiting in the back of an empty room, you tried to reach for your bag that Sukuna had slung over his shoulder.
“No, you don’t have to pay.” Pushing your hand away, Sukuna kept you at arms length.
“C’mon, you have to let me pay! You’re doing so much for me already!”
“Nope.” You tried to struggle past him and grab your bag, but Sukuna was strong enough to keep you at bay with one arm. “Fine! But I’m buying you a plushie later!”
“Whatever.” With the matter settled, the two of you left the room. Almost as soon as you came out, there was a loud gasp from a few people outside the door.
“Oh my god, your Nezuko is so good!” One of them shouted. Sukuna eyed him up, a young man dressed with a strange green and black checkered overcoat.
“Thanks!” You replied, fiddling with the edge of the brown one you were wearing. “I spent ages on getting everything just right!”
“Y-you’re (Y/N)! I didn’t think I was going to see you today!” Another man had on a similar getup to the first, but he was clad in yellow and orange.
“It must be your lucky day!” Laughing a little at his shocked face, you quickly noticed the third man standing there. “Sukuna look, this is what I meant when I said you should dress up as Inosuke!”
“Huh.” He looked at the shirtless man in front of him. The guy was muscular enough, not nearly as much as Sukuna was though. The brown pants he wore were too baggy for Sukunas liking, but he could see the way you were looking at him.
“Can we get a picture please?”
“Of course!” You quickly got in the middle of the three of them and crouched down, throwing up peace signs and smiling brightly as they took the selfies. Sukuna was watching all of their hands, making sure no one touched you or got too close.
“Sukuna, will you take a group picture for us?” You asked, already handing him a phone.
“Yeah.” You didn’t really leave him with a choice and it’s not like he was going to say no to you anyway. It was harder to keep track of just where these men were putting their hands, and every so often Sukuna would look to make sure that the hand placed on your back stayed there and didn’t go any lower.
“Thank you so much!”
“You’re the best, (Y/N)!
“Bye, please tag me in the pictures if you post them!” Waving cutely at them, you walked away. “Ah, that was so much fun! They were so cute!” Gushing about the pictures, you didn’t notice Sukuna had a vein throbbing in his forehead. He seriously wishes he’d dressed up in that dumb costume with you so you could feel the same way about him.
Quickly eating some fast food - much to Sukunas disgust - you were back in the convention hall. There seemed to be even more people here than before milling about. Gripping the back of your top, Sukuna made sure you didn’t get too far from him in the crowd.
“Let’s go check out the merch!” Leading him to a larger space in the convention center, your eyes sparkled looking at all the different vendors spread out. “Sukuna, is there anything you want to check out?”
“Not really.” The only thing he could see that he knew were some overpriced candies. “I’ll just follow you.” And that he did. You stopped at nearly every booth, rejoicing about how cute something was and how much you wanted a certain figure. Sukuna offered to pay for whatever you wanted, but you staunchly refused.
“Sukuna, which one’s your favorite?” Coming upon a booth filled to the brim with different plushies, you crossed your arms and squared your shoulders. “We aren’t leaving here until I buy you a plushie!”
“I don’t need one.” Not only would it ‘ruin’ his tough image, he didn’t like those things to begin with.
“Yes you do!” Stamping your foot childishly, you pointed at them. “Pick one!”
“Who knew you could be so mean?” He teased back with a flick to your forehead.
“Shut up.” Puffing out air, you grabbed his hand and pulled him closer to the booth. “I’ll even help you decide.”
“O-oh.” You were holding his hand. You were definitely, 100% holding Sukunas hand. Your two hands were squishing his one in your palms, shaking it side to side as you looked at all the choices before you. How was Sukuna supposed to pick something when you were holding his hand so close to your body? He could feel the tips of his fingers graze your sash every couple seconds.
“What about this one?” You pointed your hands to a brown bear with a giant body but a tiny head.
“What’s wrong with the head?” He looked concerned at the doll.
“It’s supposed to be like that!”
“I- okay.”
“Do you like it?” Looking at him hopefully, you squished his hand even more. “It’s so cute, you have to get it.”
“Let me see it.” Picking it up with his other hand, Sukuna stared at the unmoving, smiling face of the bear. Squeezing it in his hand, Sukuna let out a short sigh and put it down. “Alright, I’ll get it.”
“Yes!” Letting go of his hand, you rushed to grab your wallet before he could stop you. “Make sure to send me a picture of you with it!”
Right after you finished paying, Sukuna nearly demanded to buy you stuff as well. He’d seen the way you were eyeballing the figures and some books, and he wasn’t going to be the only one to leave this part of the convention hall with a souvenir.
The bags he was carrying were definitely heavier now when you left to go to your next panel. They put a little strain on Sukunas arms but he wasn’t about to let you carry anything and quickly ducked back to his car to put it all away.
Right in the middle of your next panel, Sukuna ducked out to go to the bathroom. He was keeping well hydrated during this whole day and it was surely catching up with him now. Wandering the halls, he eventually found a bathroom to use and on his exit, he noticed a sign for something called an ‘artists alley’.
“Let’s check it out.” Here, there were people selling things but they were clearly fan made. There were paintings and pins, stickers and fan art everywhere. Wandering between the vendors, his eye caught on a particular booth.
“Sukuna?” The person gaped when he walked up but he wasn’t paying attention to them. On a cork board above them was a moderately sized drawing of you, dressed up in an all red get up.
“How much?” He pointed at the drawing, looking at the red cap you had on that matched with the red jacket.
“The (Y/N) x Cells At Work fan art? It’s $35.”
“I’ll take it.” The artist was clearly surprised, scrambling to grab the drawing and put it in a protective sleeve. “Keep the change.” Sukuna slapped 40 down and turned away. “Oh, and don’t tell anyone I was here.”
“O-okay!” They shouted after him. Sukuna kept the drawing close to his chest and when he got back he quickly hid it in his bag so no one would notice. He started filming again like he’d never left and you didn’t question him on it when it was over.
“Man, I’m so tired!” With the convention over hours later, you all but collapsed into Sukunas car. It had indeed been an eventful day between speaking at panels and taking pictures with countless people.
“Yeah, I’m beat.” Sukuna agreed, taking a moment to sit in silence in the driver's seat. He hadn’t expected to be so tired after today. He’ll have to prepare better for tomorrow.
Driving you home, both of you were like zombies as you departed. Sukuna didn’t even have the heart to properly disrobe when he got home, collapsing into bed with the plush you’d gotten for him still in his hand.
The next day was just as hectic as the day before, the word had gotten out that you really were at the convention and now more people swarmed you in between panels. Sukuna took the pictures for all of them, giving any man that wanted one a harsh glare before he started. He was easier on the younger girls, but he still made sure that they didn’t try to flirt with you or anything. No one could be fully trusted.
“Sukuna, I forgot yesterday but we need to go to the artists alley!” You exclaimed in shock, grabbing his upper arm. “They have such cool stuff!” Oh, Sukuna definitely already knew about it. The drawing he’d bought of you was hanging in his room, by his full length mirror so he could see it whenever he wanted.
He pretended everything was brand new to him, acting as if he’d never seen the pins before or the stickers and tote bags. Coming upon the artist he’d bought from yesterday, he noticed there was more fan art of you there.
“Oh my gosh, that’s me!” You giggled happily, pointing to yourself drawn as a Pokemon trainer. “It looks so good!”
“Thank you so much (Y/N)!” The artist gaped, clearly shocked to see you here. “I-I studied all of your pictures so I could get everything just right!”
“You did a great job!” The two of you went on and on about the drawings and other paintings that were there. Sukuna wished he could chime in and say that he really liked the art he bought yesterday, but there was no way he was explaining to you that he bought a drawing of you as a red blood cell. He would rather die.
The rest of the day went by in a blur, all the panels going by so fast and melting into one another. He didn’t feel the same exhaustion as the other day, but Sukuna was definitely still tired as he walked to the car.
“Sukuna, thank you so for this weekend, it really means a lot!” You were the happiest he’d ever seen you. The footage he’d filmed for your video perfectly captured all the good parts of the convention, with several shots of your smiling face with fans and other panel members. “How can I repay you?”
“Well…” There was something he’d been wanting to ask you for a while, ever since he saw you in costume. Today was the last day of the convention and subsequently the last day you’d be wearing this costume. “Can we get a picture together?”
“What? We never took a picture together?”
“No.” Sukuna chuckled at your surprised face. Rushing to his car, you set up a little stand for your camera on the hood of his car.
“Okay, let’s take some!” As soon as Sukuna was standing next to you, you wrapped your arms around his middle in a tight hug.
“W-what’re you doing?” Immediately, his face began to blush.
“You deserve a hug, Sukuna, you’ve been amazing.” Sukuna could barely breathe. Not because you were holding him firmly, but simply from the fact that you were hugging him of your own accord. His hands were shaking slightly as he moved to hug you back, grinning shyly at the pleased hum you let out when he did so.
The drive home left a bittersweet feeling on Sukunas tongue. He was glad it was over so that he didn’t have to wake up so early and deal with the gross crowds of people. There weren’t potentially disgusting men and perverts trying to take upskirt shots of your costume or grope you that he had to worry about.
Stopping at a light though, he realized how much fun he had as well. Listening to you talk and share your opinions on the panels was interesting and getting to hear others talk to so passionately as well had made him interested in a few shows. He knew you’d be ecstatic to hear that he could potentially get into anime, and Sukuna knew that at the next convention, he’d dress up for you. He also loved the bear you’d bought him even though that was something he’d never admit.
“Thank you again Sukuna, seriously.” You squeezed his arm as he pulled up to your house.
“Don’t mention it. Let me help you with the stuff in the back.” You’d bought even more things today than yesterday, mostly for friends and family that couldn’t make it to the convention. Gathering all the bags, Sukuna walked them to your door and wandered right into your apartment.
“You can put them all near the couch!” Closing the door behind him you quickly jogged over to the couch to help him with the bags.
“Whoa, your place is nice.” It actually looked like someone lived here as opposed to Sukunas place that looked like an upgraded jail cell. There was a fluffy rug on the wall and a few cute figures and small plushies on shelves, you had plants hanging down from the ceiling and it smelled vaguely floral. There was also a space dedicated to fan made art and gifts, with some fresh flowers sitting in a vase.
“Thanks! Maybe we can film a video here someday!”
“Definitely.” Mumbling dumbly, Sukuna was vaguely aware of you staring at him. “What?”
“You’re such a good friend, Sukuna. I can’t thank you enough!” Again, you hugged him. Burying your face into him, you shook his body side to side before quickly letting go. “Anything you need, don’t hesitate to ask!”
“Hey that’s my line.” Patting you on the head, Sukuna let a dumb smile spread his cheeks. He truly had the most fun ever with you, and for a moment he could pretend that you were a couple and that he was going to spend the night here, cuddle up with you and talk about all the dumb little things happened the past few days.
But he wasn’t dating you and his daydream only lived a few seconds before he made his departure. Going back to his own home, as Sukuna stepped inside he got a notification that he’d been tagged in a photo.
It’s one of the ones you’d taken together where you were hugging each other tightly. Your smile was genuine, showing all your teeth. Your eyes were crinkled at the corners, looking at Sukuna’s kind of surprised face with an indescribable warmth.
‘I love my friends’
That was the caption you’d put with a simple heart emoji after. There were people in the comments asking if this meant you were dating now, begging for you to admit it so they could say their ship sailed. Reading the caption over and over, Sukuna bit his lip to contain the feeling spreading in his chest.
‘I love my friends too’
He commented. And one day, he promised himself that he’d get to call you something more than just a friend. Wandering further into his apartment, he smiled like an idiot at his phone, quickly screenshotting the post.
“Ow!” Bumping his shin hard into his plastic foldable dining table, he was faced with the jarring reality of his surroundings. If he wanted to call you his, he needed to get some furniture first.

CW: Institutionalized slavery, dehumanization, scars, surgical/medical whump implied, let’s just go with “side effects” for now, explicit language.
The kid was all knees and elbows. He was tripping even walking across bare, flat sub-flooring, and would have fallen if Leo hadn’t been holding him. Each time the kid stumbled he tried to pull away from Leo, only to falter more so Leo had to reach to catch him. Their path across the house was curving and for every one step in the right direction, there were two in the opposite.
Leo finally got him to just sit down on the staircase and wrapped him up in a few of the drop cloth blankets. The little thing looked like he’d fall to pieces shivering so hard. Leo offered him the bread again to nibble on, mostly just so he could get some hot coffee in him next.
Once he’d eaten enough to start on the coffee, told him, “I have to get back to work. My partner called earlier and his kid has a snow day so he won’t be coming.”
Wide eyes blinked up at him.
“You finish that coffee while I work, okay?”
The kid nodded, one jerky dip of his head.
Leo hesitated for a moment. The kid was still shaking. He wondered if he had misjudged how long they’d been lying in that snowbank. The house wasn’t particularly warm since it was empty, not to mention the kid wasn’t wearing warm clothes. He clung to the blankets, keeping them tucked tightly around himself and curling smaller to hide under them. He kept the lip of the open thermos against his chin so that all the steam hit him in the face. His eyes never left Leo’s hands, from the moment he’d stood in front of him.
Leo thought it was like the kid had never felt warmth in his life. He dug through his bag and pulled out a beanie. “Here,” he said, moving to pull it over the kid’s head.
As soon as he got within touching distance, the kid realized what he was doing and scrambled backward. Half climbing the stairs in a crab crawl, half flattening to lie against them. The insulated water bottle clanged down the steps, splashing coffee onto Leo’s white coveralls.
The kid didn’t know where to look, still eyeing the hat—and more importantly, Leo’s hands—but also staring at the coffee everywhere.
Leo pulled back and held his hands up. “Easy, easy. You’re okay, I just thought you might be warmer with a hat on,” he explained.
The kid looked like he was on the verge of crying again.
Leo could have kicked himself. Of course, the kid wouldn’t want him anywhere near all of those scars. In fact, when he had gotten close, he was pretty sure one of the incisions still had stitches in it. He didn’t want to imagine the pain, although side effects from drugs could explain the kid’s wobbliness and general confusion.
“Don’t worry about the coffee. It’s no big deal,” he said, trying to catch the kid’s gaze.
His eyes were fixed on Leo’s left sneaker which was now stained with coffee but it was like he wasn’t really seeing what was right in front of him. It reminded Leo of how he reacted when he’d grabbed his wrist in the back of the van.
“Hey, look at me.”
It took a minute but, eventually, shaking as much as ever, the kid raised his eyes.
“They’re painting clothes, they’re meant to get messy. Hell, they’re already messy.”
It was true. There was a collage of different splatters, flecks, full-on spills, and sprays in various neutral shades with the occasional color from top to bottom of the coveralls. His slip-on Vans looked like the by-product of a YouTube tutorial but with the wrong palette to be trendy.
The kid looked him over again, chewing his lip. Leo waited until those wide eyes returned to his. Rather, directly below, he realized. The kid was staring at his cheekbones—only feigning eye contact.
“Does your head still hurt anywhere?”
Now he did raise his eyes to Leo’s. The kid shook his head emphatically, shrinking backward, and tugging at the blankets but they’d been pinned in the scrambling and weren’t budging to provide the cover the kid was seeking.
“Will you put on the hat yourself? I really think you will feel warmer.” Leo stayed back and held the hat out.
The kid slowly reached to take it with two hands and fumbled a few times trying to pull it on. Leo didn’t miss the wince as the knit acrylic finally pulled down over the freshest of the incisions. It probably needed to still be bandaged but it seemed unlikely he would let Leo get that close. What was he going to do with this kid? There was no way he could just send him away again.
“Do you know where you came from?” Leo asked.
The kid furrowed his eyebrows, eyes flicking around Leo’s face. “You…mmm…” His chin wobbled a little and he started gesturing with his hands.
It looked like he was solving a Rubik’s cube but Leo didn’t say that out loud.
“Boy…mmm…here…” The kid let out a shaky breath, punctuated by an almost-inaudible whimper.
“Okay, okay. Not that one.” Leo wanted to stop him from getting upset. “How about we try for a name again? What should I call you?”
“No…mmm…only…mmm…boy…” He swiped the tears running down his face and fruitlessly tugged at the blankets he was still sitting on.
Leo reached out to help, slowly, pointing to the blankets, and the kid still flinched violently against the wall. He continued to quake as Leo wrapped the blankets around his shoulders again. His fingers came out from the inside to grip the edges and he tucked his knees up against his chest. All Leo could see were the shoes, the tips of the kid’s fingers, and his face from his chin to where the hat hit his eyebrows. It made something knot in his chest when the kid immediately returned to closely watching his hands.
Leo stepped back and tried to cover his shaky exhale with a cough. What had this kid been through? Who could have been party to any of this? Why wasn’t someone taking care of him? Leo had no idea what he should do but this had immediately become so much more complicated than giving someone his coffee on a snowy day.
He softened his voice a little more. “I can’t just call you ‘boy’, that’s worse than ‘kid’.”
The kid didn’t look up but his forehead creased. “Before…mmm—” and then he started spouting numbers again. His eyes grew wider as he went on and he looked into Leo’s face. He started pressing himself back against the steps like he was leaning back to lounge, but there was nothing relaxed about the way his face was tightening.
Leo was sure his expression was blank, if not confused, but whatever the kid saw there must have set him off because he stopped speaking and tucked his chin into the blankets, not just shrinking back but cowering.
He shook his head at Leo. A sob hitched out of his chest, a bitter sound that was painful to hear. He fixed his eyes on Leo’s hands again but had pulled the blankets even over his nose. Leo was sure he would have been completely buried inside them if it weren’t for the threat standing right in front of him.
“Hey, it’s okay,” he said quietly, knowing his words were useless.
The boy started softly again, face screwed up, “Eight, ten—” he stopped and shook his head.
Leo swallowed the lump in his throat. He wasn’t sure if the kid had misunderstood his question but that had been the second time he’d asked for a name. If it hadn’t surfaced by now, there must be a good—
“Oh!” Leo forgot to control his voice and the kid jumped at his exclamation. He was pressing himself against the wall now, too. Leo made sure to take it down a notch. He considered holding his hands behind his back if they were causing the boy so much anxiety but thought that might be worse. He kept them where they were, held out a little from his sides, fingers extended just slightly. “Did you say Aiden? Is your name Aiden?”
The kid tilted his head and raised his eyes to search Leo's face. He nodded slowly, biting his lip, forehead creased. His eyes never stopped moving as they traced Leo’s expression.
“Aiden,” Leo repeated, smiling.
The kid nodded even more.
Leo remembered his mom always saying eyes are the windows of the soul. Aiden’s were like trying to see into a window whose curtains were drawn. Leo could only see his own reflection in the glass. It was impossible to tell if there was someone looking back at him from the other side but at least now it looked like there might be a light on.

Part two to boys and butter? (I know I already requested something but still)
Ok here goes! Hope you enjoy!
Part 1 here. (based off a prompt by @nuttynutcycle)
*special thanks to @im-a-wonderling for the beta read, edits, and fantastic ideas!!*
----------------------------------
Villain was washing her hair, for the fourth time, cursing stupid heroes for forcing her to get her hair wet. In water. For the fourth time that day.
A loud pounding interrupted her ranting and her shampooing.
Who would dare?
“Uh Villain?”
She lifted her head out of the sink and turned off the water.
“What!?!”
“Um well, Sidekick is here.”
“And?”
“Well, he uh, he says he wants to talk?”
She growled and reached for a towel.
Henchman leapt back as she wrenched open the door, spraying water droplets in every direction. “So you just let him in?”
How did he even know where her lair was?
“No!! He’s standing outside the front door.”
Might as well post a billboard saying ‘Villain lives here!’
“Get him inside, now!”
“Where—?”
“I don’t care! The entryway! Just get him off the street!”
Henchman scrambled away as Villain took the towel to her hair before pulling up the hood of her jacket.
She should probably have her people send Sidekick away, vulnerable as she was at the moment, but this didn’t feel like a trap. At least not the dangerous kind. More of the buttery kind.
She stomped through the upstairs, her henchmen darting out of her way. When she reached the bottom of the stairs, she paused. Her mask was still upstairs covered in nasty butter, and even if Sidekick knew where she lived, she didn’t need him seeing her face as well.
“Hit the lights!” she shouted.
Every single light in the house went out. At least her people were efficient.
She tugged her hood down further as she rounded the corner to the entryway, clinging to the shadows.
Sidekick stood framed in the light shining through the window on the front door, his hands raised unthreateningly to the sides.
“Why didn’t you just turn off the lights with your powers?” It was a curious question rather than a judgmental one, and so quiet she wondered if he’d meant to say it out loud.
Before she could answer, he shook his head. “Right sorry!” He muttered. “Not my business. That’s not why I came...” It was clear now he was in fact talking to himself, and hadn’t yet noticed her come in. His hand darted up to his glasses, pushing them back up the bridge of his nose, before the cocking of her henchmen’s guns sent his hand back away from his body. “Sorry! Sorry! Nervous habit!”
Villain couldn’t help the small smile that appeared on her lips.
“Have you ever dropped a blow dryer in water?”
He jerked around, scanning the shadows until he spotted her. “I-um-no? But that sounds rather dangerous.... electrical currents in water can lead to...”
“Exactly.”
His face was half in shadow, but the adorable confusion was easy to see.
“I was washing my hair.”
His face, or what she could see of it, flushed red.
“I’m sorry-I didn’t... I don’t...”
Oh this was too fun.
But she decided to put him out of his misery.
“In the sink. My hair is wet...Wet hair, electrical current...” she waved her hands in an explosive gesture and didn’t have to wait long for him to piece it together. It was a rather unfortunate twist of her powers that she could essentially summon lightning, but if she was the slightest bit wet, all that energy went into her rather than her intended target.
“So you can’t use your powers when you’re wet?”
Oh no.
She’d been so distracted by his utterly innocent flustering that she hadn’t thought about the ramifications of telling a member of Hero Agency her biggest weakness.
Should she just kill him now?
But he was so cute...
Sidekick had noticed her silence. He groaned. “Listen. This isn’t why I’m here. I promise I won’t tell anyone.”
“Then why are you here?”
He reached for his pocket, but froze as her henchmen advanced.
“Sorry! Sorry! I just need to get something out of my pocket.” He looked at her, or rather, in her direction, since she was still obscured by the darkness.
Villain dipped her head. “It’s alright. Just move very slowly.”
He took her words to heart, moving with painstaking slowness as he pulled a small paper from his front pocket. He gingerly unfolded it before extending it out to her.
“Other Henchman?”
Other Henchman stepped forward, gun aimed at Sidekick’s chest, and took the paper. He backed up until he was out of arms reach, then turned and delivered her the paper. She squinted at the writing, fingered the thick paper. It wasn’t a note, it was a $100 bill.
“What is this?”
“It’s $100.”
“I know that.” He flinched at the venom in her voice, and she mentally reminded herself to be gentle.
“Why are you handing me money, Sidekick?”
“It’s a bribe.”
“A what?”
“Or a payment. I mean however you want to look at it. And I can’t explain, so please don’t ask me any questions, but I will give you $100 if you let me borrow your mask for an hour.”
Hero blinked, several times, thinking back on the strange events of the day. First the heroes... now Sidekick.
“Are you making a game of me?” The quiet question hung in the air for the briefest moment before—
“NO!!” The outburst from the timid Sidekick made her jump.
He ran his fingers through his curly hair, but this time her people didn’t bother to protest his sudden movement. They could tell, as she could, that he wasn’t a threat.
“I’m not trying to mock you, but I can’t explain right now. But... please?”
Villain couldn’t doubt his sincerity.
“So you’re wanting to… what? Rent my mask for an hour?”
“Yes.” He squeaked out.
“And what’s to guarantee you’ll bring it back?”
He paused. “I give you my word.”
Villain laughed. “You’ll have to forgive me for doubting the word of a sworn enemy.”
Sidekick shifted from foot to foot.
“Well, what else do you have?” Sidekick’s brows furrowed in confusion. “What are you willing to offer as collateral?”
“I--” He reached into his pockets. Keys, wallet, phone. Nothing she was interested in.
“What’s that around your neck?”
Sidekick’s hand flew to the chain peeking out of the collar of his shirt. “Nothing!” he replied too quickly.
“Hmmmm. Well I think I’ve made my decision. You can leave whatever it is that’s hanging around your neck here with me until you return my mask, or you can leave now, before I decide to keep you here, indefinitely.” She wasn’t actually into the whole kidnapping scene, but she couldn’t resist teasing him.
“I..It’s… you wouldn’t want it.”
“Oh?”
He pulled the chain out of his shirt, revealing a small blue shell. She knew he had some sort of water affinity, but had avoided him. The whole ‘get wet and your powers backfire thing’ really stole the appeal of being close enough to see his powers in action.
Villain raised her eyebrows. “Explain.”
“Well, I have water powers.”
“And? Hurry up, little hero. Before my offer expires.”
He sighed and dragged a hand down his face. “Igetmypowersfromtheshell.”
It took her a moment to process his jumbled words, then Villain blinked. Twice.
“I- well..” She’d been expecting some sentimental ‘I remember the day I found this shell’ drivel, but… his powers came from a shell? The look on his face told her he wasn’t lying. She didn’t want to be anywhere near some mystical shell-thing, but she’d already made her offer.
“The shell as collateral for my mask. Take it or leave it.” She waved the $100 bill. “Oh and either way, I’m keeping this.”
Sidekick closed his eyes and nodded once.
“Henchman,” she signaled him to draw closer. He listened to her instructions before darting up the stairs.
When he came back down, he held out his hand, but she waved him off, pointing at Sidekick.
Sidekick stiffened at Henchman’s approach, but relaxed when he saw the object Henchman held pinched between two fingers. He reluctantly pulled the chain over his head and dropped it into Henchman’s open palm before taking the mask Henchman now extended to him.
“Careful it’s-"
“What in the world?”
Villain covered her eyes. She really should have cleaned her mask first.
“Don’t ask.”
Sidekick nodded. “Ok then. I guess I’ll just be going?”
He took a hesitant step back, and when no one stopped him, he gradually turned and grasped the handle of the door.
“Sidekick?”
He froze.
“60 minutes. Starting... now.”
He vanished out the door.
Villain sniffed her hair and gagged. Then she went back upstairs to wash it for the fifth time. She should have been plotting revenge against Other Hero, but instead she was puzzling over a endearingly curious curly-headed, glasses-wearing sidekick and the tiny blue shell that now hung around her neck.
