This ask gets longer with every thought and I apologize for that. I hope it is clear that all of this is in good faith.
If this ask is answered I will probably have follow up questions, and the direct message option would probably work better than more asks.
I also use mobile almost exclusively, so I only see notifications once in a blue moon.
Hi, I was reading the DNI for this blog and am a little confused. It talks a lot about what other blogs post or tag, I think. Is this due to following back? What if I want to follow this blog or ask questions but my own blog has some of (what I consider to be) the more minor topics scattered throughout my 10 year history and present.
What is a ?'fictive'? system. Is there a glossary of terms available for this blog?
The about section included in the DNI link mentioned a tag that is used to collect the posts that are more informative, but I haven't been able to find it.
And what probably should have been my first question, what terminology should I use in reference to the system of this blog? Can 'you' be plural? Is there a joint pronoun?
A little confused on which part of my DNI you're referring to so I'll explain all of that under the cut, as to your questions on systems/our systems
Tumblr search is broken but here's the link to my #pluralFAQ tag which I have tried to tag the asks I've gotten about system stuff (might only work on browser/desktop though)
If you're unsure what a system is as a whole here is a helpful resource for the basics!
Fictives are members of a system who are either based on fictional characters or are the people the fictional characters depict. There's a lot of different ways to be a fictive but for us inside the system we normally have our sources appearance (but not always) and we have all of our memories from when we used to be those people in past lives. All of that can be really confusing to singlets so it is okay if you're confused about it, all you need to know is that fictives are valid and that you do need to respect their names, pronouns, and try not to treat them like they're fictional/roleplaying because they're real people.
I don't have a glossary but if you need anything explained I don't mind answering at all :]
And there's quite a few ways you can refer to us! If you're just talking to/about me (Audit, the main one running the blog) then just singular pronouns is fine but if you aren't sure who you're talking to/about or are referring to the system as a whole then you can either use regular pronouns that refer to groups of people (they/them, you all/y'all/you guys, your system etc.)
Or you can use a plural modifier! So & is the official plural symbol and I forget who coined it but it's common to just attach the & symbol on pronouns and names to indicate that it's referring to a plural, if you're reading/saying it out loud then "you&" would be read "you and yours" and like "Audit&" would be "Audit and Audit's system" or the system title we go as "Audit and friends"
Explanations for everything in my BYF under the cut!
the first thing is asking pedophiles not to interact (includes some other labels they try to hide behind). Self explanatory.
The second thing asks people who support/have kinks surrounding things that are abusive and bigoted (such as physical abuse, rape, slavery, etc.) not to interact. This is not for discourse reasons and I also need to make it Extremely Clear that I am putting this on here because I am an abuse survivor and I am setting the boundary that I do not want to be near people who think getting off on my trauma is okay. Again, this is not a discourse opinion I don't give a shit about whatever the most common internet fight is this is about my and others physical and emotional safety and is also not up for debate.
Third asks terfs and radfems (the same but two different labels) to not interact as well. If you're unsure who this refers to it's a group of alleged feminists who believe that trans women are men invading feminist spaces, that trans men are brainwashed girls being abused by trans women, and that nonbinary people are faking because there's only two genders. This is obviously incredibly harmful for everyone involved but especially trans women.
Fourth point asks that anyone who does not unconditionally support sex workers and sex works, and anyone who is not in favor of decriminalizing sex work, not interact. I've had a lot of people get confused because I am largely critical of the culture around sex and have a lot of negative associations with it as a trauma survivor but I am still entirely in support of sex workers and my personal opinions on what is safe or healthy has absolutely nothing to do with this, it's an indisputable fact that they deserve full workers rights and protections.
Fifth one asks that people who are uncritical of blatantly bigoted media and influencers/content creators not interact, should be self explanatory.
Sixth bans interaction from anyone who supports isreal and the genocide its currently committing in Palestine, should be self explanatory.
Seventh asks that anyone who is against the Black Lives Matter movement or who opposes political anarchists not interact, should be self explanatory.
Eighth asks no one interact who fakeclaims systems of any kind, this is because telling systems they aren't really systems is every bit as ableist as telling someone they're faking autism because they don't "seem autistic" (comparison I can make becaue I've experienced both) It also asks people who are against self-diagnosis to not interact, should be self explanatory.
Next I ask that people who gatekeep within the lgbtq+ community not interact because I think that's gross and do not have time for it
Lastly, I ask anyone who fetishizes a marginalized group not to interact. Examples given being fujoshi (women who fetishize mlm couples) and yandere fans (glorify abuse and fetishize people with BPD)
The section after that which mentions tags, is asking people I'm mutuals with to tag those things with trigger warnings because I find them very triggering and being able to avoid them helps me out a ton to stay safe!
