We live in times where "you're not punk if you don't like punk music" is considered gatekeeping. It's literally all about the fucking music
#i don't consider myself punk (don't have that much commitment to the bit)#but it's so annoying when people think punk means 'rebellious cool person' no that's not what it means#it's a fucking music based subculture. yes it's made up of social outcasts because the loud fast shitty angry music attracts social outcasts#and it is an inherently political subculture but the politics are just one aspect of it. it's about the fucking music
