#following me is just learning random dutch vocab#the -je (more often -tje -pje -kje) ending in particular i find very cute#it's a diminutive!! it's also how you get words like ice cream (ijsje)#you take the word ice (ijs) and you add the suffix that make the noun it's attached to Small!!#ergo ice cream is just small ice :)#whatever dutch still rattles in my brain sometimes makes itself known enough for me to give anecdotes like this#it's nice when it happens#post anesthetics posts
