A game that has horror, cannibalism, incest, edgy protag, brat protag, parent issues, things that make me go hghhhh, etc etc: exists

Hot Isaac Newton? 14 ✨liking✨ men? Paranoia sci-fi? WILFRED MOTT?!?!? Oh this was delicious!!!!!

The subtle character building in Andor is just so good.

We get a sense of who these people are, what they have gone through and what they stand for through small gestures, expressions and dialogue.

Cassian of course is the main example of this. It might seem like we don't get much of our titular character. He is mostly quiet and doesn't have a robot to tell his thoughts to any more. But who he is and what he is thinking is very clear.

He is smart and a quick learner. He is a very good observer. Cassian notices things, in a way that makes it useful for later. He knows who uses which hand. He knows the unspoken rules of operating that cargo thing. He recognizes the device that Karis is using and shows genuine interest.

And that all makes sense. The first scenes we see of young Cassian is him observing the leader of the group of children and imitating her. And after he was abducted, he had to adapt quickly to a new environment.

And this isn't punctuated with a quip or a joke. Cassian doesn't wink and say "I'm a quick learner." We get shown this through his interactions.

He is also on edge and out of his depth, which he tries to hide, even if he calls out the others on being afraid. And again, this isn't thrown in our face, but it is through his behaviour. How he jumps when they touch him or his stuff. His disbelief at the holes in their plan.

And Cassian cares, about the group and the cause, even though he says he's only in it for the money. He accepts the apology. He praises Karis' model. He praises cinta's healing skills. He listens carefully to the philosophy. He gives suggestions but doesn't overstep boundaries.

And I love that so much

"Alright but you have to agree that the movie was kinda mid because..." no, sorry. You can have your criticism ofc and not like the movie but I loved it so much. I don't think I'm capable of not liking any piece of content fnaf brought me.

I've made some posts before the movie came out being like "I hope they don't make it unnecessary corny" blah blah blah but I take it back because this movie and the whole theater experience with people being dressed up as characters and applause during several scenes and the "awwwws" when something cute happened were probably cringe but the most joyful movie experience I could've gotten.

And it was also all I expected. If someone expected explicit gore they were just delusional, sorry. I didn't even think we'd get that much.

I'm a million years late on this but man, the Herlock Sholmes route of the Code: Realize fandisk is kind of fascinating.

Cause while the main game basically just used the bachelors' various source material as the very loose inspiration for an otherwise completely original steampunk fantasy adventure (even going so far as to use Frankenstein's novel plot points as full on red herrings in Victor's route), Sholmes's is actually like, straight up, a pretty good piece of Sherlock Holmes fan fiction in the style of the style of a melodramatic visual novel romance.

Like I totally buy this version of Holmes as a romantic lead -- effortlessly capable, one step ahead at all times, always keeping his cool, prone to teasing rather than overt arrogance, weighed down by self-imposed responsibility, and very courteous towards everyone, especially the PC. And it's good that they knew to bring in Watson and make his friendship as important to Holmes as the budding romance; their take on him is great -- I love enthusiastic shonen bro wife guy Watson, he's a badass and darling and he's introduced shooting the hand off Jack the Ripper before spotting the PC and going, "Huh is anybody gonna big brother that girl?" and not waiting for an answer.

And of course Moriarty has a weird homoerotic yandere fixation on Holmes, how else was an anime dating sim going to translate that relationship? It's just hilarious that in-universe Holmes has to share his yandaddy with Van Helsing.

Okay Schneider/Vertin is true as fuck but I'm still a sonetto/Vertin ride or die. Come on childhood friends with extreme amounts of baggage that are definitely fighting in the future due to the foundation?. I can't say no to that
