Does anyone have advice for things to do on your birthday (after friends tell you they're too busy to do anything and/don't want to do anything)?
It's coming soon and the weather isn't the best for hiking to stores or anything but I might grab a cake and some ice cream, maybe some berries since they're usually too expensive? Who knows! I'll probably just chill I think, birthdays always aren't fun haha

#my mom was all upset last night out of nowhere and kept muttering shit under her breath at me and my dad#and then she exploded at him this morning (its his birthday weekend btw)#accused him of cheating AGAIN because 1) its her default comeback and 2) he replied 'STOP' to a spam text and shes convinced it was his ex#but also the thing that set her off was me and my dad 'making fun of her' for mispronouncing something?#which is kinda bullshit regardless bc we all do that to each other and it isnt grounds for all this#but the thing is. i dont remember doing that#and i have a very good memory#i remember doing almost exactly that a few days ago with a friend too so its weird that i wouldnt remember this#which isnt to say that it didnt happen#but the thing is. i DO remember talking about an actor in the show we were watching#he was playing a different character but u could still tell it was him bc of how he rounds his vowels off w an r sound#and i kept pointing it out whenever he did it and my mom was sitting kinda far away when we were talking about it#and after that is pretty much when she started acting all weird#so i stg. if she misheard me dissecting an actor's accent and decided it was an attack on her intelligence im gonna kill someone

ebbs and flows. a week ago responded to the group chat for the first time in two entire years + then responded to my friend who was definitely joking about me dropping her off some snacks by doing a sneaky surprise drop + am now feeling very flat + apathetic about everything :(
#the group chat is just me + my friend from high school + her childhood friend who i buddied up with at the mutual friends birthday#years ago + we just clicked real well#and they tried to keep messaging the group chat for a few months but when i just never replied the chat died#so it was a super surprise to get the ping last week#they messaged back + forth for a bit + i jumped in#+ it was all like nothing had happened like i hadn’t fallen off the face of the planet for years#which makes me feel very grateful but also confuses me because fairly they should want nothing to do with me#like what kind of friend + also person does it make me that i just shut off like some sort of recluse for literal years#no explanation no nothing it’s so shitty of me even though i don’t mean for it to be#like it’s always a very ‘it’s me not you’ situation in a very genuine way#it never ever is anyone else it’s absolutely entirely me + my neuroses#but it has been nice to be reinvolved :-)#+ then the driving thing was so out of character for me#not the buying a gift for someone thing just literally the driving thing#new address during the day on a weekend is a pretty standard no go for me#but it was nice to be able to do something nice like that#to be fair it was just a sneaky surprise drop off i didn’t have to face her or anything#but it’s funny that i can be so close to feeling at least ok#to tanking in such an insignificant amount of time#+ for no reason or at least no reason known to me#anyways. going to work hard at keeping up with the group chat#personal

I still have 5 hours left in my shift 😭😭😭
#I just….#really wanna go home today#not having a good day. I started my period this morning and then I got to work and found out only me and one other opener were there but our#opening manager wasn’t here yet so she was late and we spent the next 20 minutes rushing to get everything set up before we opened#and then we immediately started getting customers and it’s just been busy and I’m tired and just don’t feel good bc of my period#and then so far I’ve had 2 of my least favorite customers come through the drive thru where I’m working#one is this dude who’s just fucking annoying another is the guy that asked for my number a few months ago who I haven’t seen since I turned#him down so I took his order and then made someone else deal with him at the window#and then it got busy with everyone ordering drinks like hot coffees which meant I had to walk from our drive thru out to the lobby bc my#coffees were out bc everyone wants coffee today but when I would do that I would still have to be taking orders#and then someone cleared a few specialty coffees off the barista screen without making them while the person was sitting in the drive thru#so I had to make those while doing other stuff too and people were asking me questions#and I was just getting very overstimulated and annoyed plus I’m hungry#and I just want to leave and go home and sleep but it’s my best friend’s birthday so she’s probably gonna want to do something later but I#just don’t feel up to it and I know she’s probably ready to hang out because she’s been off for 10 days with Covid so she’s well rested now#for her birthday but 😭😭😭 I just want to crash into my bed so hard and not wake up until noon tomorrow#also the coworker I work with every day and don’t like is here today unfortunately#and also all of the speakers we use to play music in the back are dead right now and I just want to play music#first world problems but I have so little patience today
