Healthy Choice (?)
Your mother’s voice (for better or for worse) lives inside your head forever. MY mother was a complex person and we had our ups and downs. She passed away nearly twenty years ago. One of her claims to fame was that she was a spectacular cook. And, as a fully Appalachian cook, she felt about the terms ‘lowfat’ and ‘reduced salt’ the way other people feel about getting shot or stabbed.
This afternoon, after WAY too much damned busywork, I went to the grocery store. I was hustling through trying to get a dual list of items for my own family and items for my brother’s family for his upcoming visit. I picked up a can of Campbell’s cream of chicken soup, thinking happily about a chicken and rice casserole that my mother used to make. Then I noticed that the blasted thing was ‘salt free’. Instantly, as if she were standing right behind me, I heard my mother snarl “WHAT THE FUCK!”
I very nearly dropped the soup, and had to lean over to contain my laughter. I didn’t think standing alone in the soup aisle laughing hysterically would be seemly. I will add salt to the casserole, Mom. It’ll be ok, I promise.

Hi Kenny, how's 2024 treating you?
I feel a little bit like i'm running down an incredibly steep hill but I'm managing somehow 💖
I got to briefly join my sisters hens/bucks party weekend getaway for a few hours near the start of the year, it was an amazing experience and to have gotten to join in on the fun with family and friends and celebrate my sister and her fiance's marriage-to-be was an experience I never thought could happen! ♪(^∇^*) I mean sure I spent most of it hidden away, in the lil cabin my parents were renting a bit further away from all the party people, resting between moments of interaction but it was AWESOME!
and then I lost my 'no major episode' streak (almost 5 months!! A frickEN MiRAcle!!) a week later and have spent most of the time recovering 9w9" ahh all that recovery torn away and damage redone ;w; But i have been quietly working on commissions in the shadows with those who have popped up in my Instant messages- yah boi got bills to pay and a DSP don't quite cut it, so I got some nice art to post when i can get out of my own head for a minute to do so wOOOO ╰(*°▽°*)╯ my clients are my hero's honestly, it's one of the reasons why I pour so much love into my work
Sorry if that was a bit more of answer than yah wanted Anon <3 I feel a lil bit like all the people responding to Elmo's "how's everyone doing" but I tried to keep things lighthearted 💖

Mmmmmm it's very tricky trying to communicate with my neighbour. We visit each other occasionally but she:
Does not speak English or French or Irish - the languages I can make myself understood in.
Does not speak any language I can find decent resources on learning
Speaks only Sorani Kurdish, a language which Google translate does not have a, u know, robo speaky voice for. A language no online translator seems to give pronunciation guides for.
Cannot READ Sorani Kurdish nor English. I thought translate & reading would be our solution but this is not so.
There are no great sorani resources available online. Nothing with a pronuniciation guide or audio that I can find.
If u have any ideas pls let me know cause I am ALL OUT.

i went to a Crane Wives concert w some of my siblings last night and it was amazing. There were so many of us crowded into a church basement in Philly, and everyone in the room was queer and/or alt and did you know that sometime in the past few years mullets have become cool? the person standing in front of us had a jacket that their brother had PAINTED for them and someone else had a light up jacket and that was just the people we could SEE

Lethbridge has such nice turn of the century and particularly 1940s architecture and here's quatsch and I like "look at the bike racks" "look at the tiny well placed crosswalk buttons" "look at the fire hydrants" "look at the garbage cans" because we are insane
Also headcanon that Lilith is short AF confirmed because everything. So tiny. So far apart. City for ants.
