Tsukuritai Onna to Tabetai Onna
Tumblr media
Usual warning. This is not a review. It's just me needing to put what I'm feeling somewhere. I just finished watching so there's absolutely no critical thinking happening here.
TL;DR: WATCH THIS SHOW!!!
Well I finally finished all of Tsukutabe and to say my heart is full feels small somehow. My heart grew. I remember when I finished the second season of Kinou Nani Tabeta, I was so overwhelmed with emotions and honestly I was not expecting to be in that place again. I called it magic and I have to echo those same feelings here. Because this show it's magic. It's a gift that makes me feel thankful that I got to experience it. I really have a hard time writing about this because I'm feeling so many things so I'll try to split it in smaller bits so maybe it sounds a bit more coherent. No promises though.
Kasuga I have to start here because she's my favourite, in case it wasn't obvious by my choice of pfp. She's so cute. I fell in love with her almost immediately. I've talked about this before but to see a character eat the way she does on screen healed something in me. The way she looks at Nomoto made me melt multiple times and her smile completely shatters this cold heart of mine. The episodes around her family had me bawling [normally I would wish for her father to be run over or something, but that would only add misery to Kasuga's mother, so I just hope he dies first] but seeing her put herself first and release herself from those expectations was amazing. Her journey was incredible and it was great that she was able to open up to Nagumo and Nomoto. I have to congratulate Nishino Emi for her portrayal of Kasuga. Considering she's not an actor (she's a musician btw) and this is her only acting credit, I thought the way she embodied Kasuga was really good.
Nomoto I adore her. Her happiness was infectious and she made me smile so wide. Cooking for your loved ones is just such the most beautiful thing to me and she and Shiro are the standard and everyone else can take notes. She's more open than Kasuga so we have more of an insight to her and to watch her awakening was amazing. It reminded me a bit Sakuko [Koisenu Futari] in the beginning. Her facial expressions always gave her away and it was such a contrast to Kasuga's reserved demeanor.
Tumblr media
THEM The Yin and Yang. They are so different on the surface but the way they come together and create a space for each other is just so beautiful to see. They are learning from each other through these two seasons and growing together and navigating the realities of their relationship and what it all means and how it makes them feel. I just love the happiness in Nomoto's eyes whenever Saguka is eating her food and the happiness and little smiles in Kasuga's face whenever Nomoto got really excited by a vegetable or a finished dish. They are perfect and will live happily ever after. Period.
Nagumo This girl has my whole heart. I said this before in the notes but every time she was on my screen I just wanted to give her a hug. She's fragile but resilient and although she was a bit shy at first, the way she shared her story with Kasuga and quickly became the person she went to for advice was so good. And to see her getting help, finding relief in a word and hope in the future made me cry so much. And when she took that bite it made my heart grow that very second. And just as a aside, the fact that the show chose to have her eat while the others didn't notice and after they did, they still didn't make it a big deal made me ugly cry. Because that's the magic part. That when I feel that a show knows what it's doing with its characters. And the moment at the end in the job thing when she said she wanted to do something that allowed to talk to people had me clapping like a proud mama.
Chiharu I love her. I love that Nomoto had someone by her side from the beginning that she could confide in and that was supportive. And that when she "messed up", like with the wedding talk, she was given space to reflect and understand and give her friend the space she needed to talk about it. Cause it's okay to not be all woke - god, I hate this word - all the time. As long as people are ready to listen to each other and learn from one another. Also always happy for the screw marriage discourse.
Yako The ace rep had me clapping at first of course. It's so rare anywhere in media so it always adds points no matter what. So obviously... I love her. She's such an amazing supporter. She's so kind and open. Her relationship with Nomoto was wonderful but she and Naguma gave me some of my favourite moments ever. Because being supportive sometimes is just being present, is asking questions, is just listening to understand and not judge. And to want those around you to grow. That moment where she realized what the move meant for Nagumo and asked her to go for a walk was so good.
Tumblr media
THESE WOMEN. I love these women. All of them. How they come together for each other, and the kindness and understanding made me ugly cry on more than one occasion.
The Food This show really speaks to me in several ways and I know I spoke of this before but I keep coming back to food.
You eat too much or you don't eat enough. Or you don't eat it the right way. Or eat the right things. Food is just sustenance for some. Food is joy to others. Food is what makes some of us get up in the morning. Food is to eat alone or together. It means a lot of different things to different people. It's food. You eat yours and I eat mine. Can we just not pay so much attention to this? Now that I got that out. Japanese shows are the best at using food in their stories. And more often that not, it's a place of joy and healing. And the fact that this series showed that food can also be a source of trauma and something that makes you different, as well as a place where you can heal is so important to me. Because I can relate to both those things. The dining table has been a place where I felt wrong different but also a place where I found so much joy.
The Magic Much like Kinou Nani Tabeta this show is full of magic. It was made by people that needed to make it, to talk about things that mattered, from a place of empathy and love. I feel like I was meant to watch this show. The universe conspired to put it in front of me. I understand this sounds super corny, and honestly if anyone else said this words to me I would be rolling my eyes way back into my skull, so I get it. But it feels cosmic somehow. Also fun fact that helps the magic of it all. One of the characters and I share a last name. Me, little portuguese me, and a japanese character from this show. Can you imagine the odds? And no, I have no connection to Japan whatsoever, and my last name isn't even a very common one in either country. So really it has to be magic, right? Also, I have a small confession. GL's were never my favourite. I'm enjoying 23.5 a lot for example but I'm never in a rush to watch them. I have a bias against them that I never really examined, except that I find that I'm much more critical of them so I enjoyed them less. But this show, these women, just moved the needle a bit. There are important conversations here, not just from a queer standpoint but from a female perspective that really resonated with me, so I might need to readjust some things. Anyway, I have a lot of feelings but this is already long. I'll be thinking about this show a lot more, and there will be giffing for sure so I won't leave these characters any time soon. Also, did I mention?, I LOVE Kasuga. SHE IS EVERYTHING TO ME and one of my favourite characters of all time.
Tumblr media
I already talked about the kindness in this show but I need to say it again. It's all about the kindness. These women. They are all so open and kind and because of that they are all better people and happier people. Maybe we can learn from them. If only we could be a little more kind to each other.
If you've made it to the end, thanks for reading💜. [A huge thanks to @furritsubs for giving us the opportunity to enjoy this masterpiece.]

Ok so I might do another post about the stuff I didn’t like but for now
THINGS I LOVED IN THE OWL HOUSE FINALE
* I’ve seen a lot of people say Belos’s death was anticlimactic and it was!! Because the bastard didn’t deserve even an inch of glory or to go out in a cool way!! Instead the land he poisoned and tried to destroy uno reversed him so he could get pathetically curb stomped by those he personally tormented.
* Luz looking down at Belos in disappointment and disgust as he melted JUST LIKE the ghost/hallucination of Caleb did.
* Luz saying she was the good witch LUZ instead of LUZURA!!! Self acceptance and shedding of masks we love to see it
* Acknowledging that yeah forgiveness and kindness is great but it doesn’t always work!! So many shows recently have solved every conflict with those two concepts and it’s just not realistic. Some people cannot be saved.
* In the same vein Belos committing to the bit and remaining a genocidal jackass instead of trying to “redeem” himself or let others do it for him.
* PALISMAN CARVER HUNTER. EDA’S DAD PASSING ON THE ART TO SOMEONE WORTHY AND HUNTER DOING SOMETHING HE LOVES AND IS CONNECTED DEEPLY TO.
* The matching Flapjack tattoos!!
* Darius immediately complimenting Hunter’s middle school emo boy wolf shirt
* BAMF RAINE
* The fact that Camila still had the pride pin on in the epilogue as a middle finger to Disney but that means canonically she’s been wearing it for 4 years straight. (Ha)
* Belos, trying to spread his literal and metaphorical rot to Luz at the last second to take her down with him and being completely unable to touch her do to her embracing the Titan’s magic instead of abusing it like he did.
* The giant dragon beast Belos being petrified HAHA HOWS IT FEEL
* “We’re humans! We’re better!” Belos exclaims, currently a pile of bone goop while his fellow human Luz has had sick magical girl transformation and is also distinctly nonhuman at the moment.
* Lilith opening a museum with HOOTY AS THE CURATOR
* HARPY LILY HARPY LILY
* Raeda swapped earrings
* EDA HAVING A GODDAMN HOOK FOR A HAND AND BEING A HEADMASTER LIKE BUMP
* Kings collar says “KC” now for King Clawthorne
* The Titan has the Archives as it’s crown just like the Luzura doll crown King wore from episode one.
* BYEEEEEEEEE!!!

'I'm in Love with the Villainess' Anime - Episode 1 Review
An astounding and hilarious first outing for the series with the power to revolutionize Yuri
Tumblr media
We are finally here, the long-awaited and much anticipated first episode of Platinum Vision’s I’m in Love with the Villainess anime aired on Tokyo MX and is streaming everywhere outside of Asia with a plethora of dubbing options, including English, on day one on Crunchyroll.
The first outing covers most of the events of the light novel’s first chapter, or the first three chapters of the manga, at a rapid but steady and not overwhelming pace. At this rate, the anime should be able to cover much of the series’ first arc, or the first two out of five books, in a single cour. Perhaps a bit less, depending on which of the story’s various adventures it elects to include. This is an exciting possibility, to be sure, as the story is a character-driven, socially mindful, and expertly written and, despite its fantasy setting, an exceptionally relevant tale of romance, socio-economic inequality, and of course, queerness.
Tumblr media
While the first arc of Villainess is a triumph, it would be a shame not to see at least some of the developments from the extra chapters that lead into the second story, like (spoilers for the end of volume 2) Rae and Claire’s wedding and their adopted twin daughters May and Aleah. If we are lucky, perhaps they will appear in the final episode or, dare to dream, a second season (end of spoilers).
Now, onto the show itself. For those who, for whatever reason, have not read Inori’s masterpiece, I’m in Love with the Villainess follows Rae Taylor. A salary worker who dies and is reincarnated as the protagonist of her favorite otome game, Revolution. However, Rae has no interest in any of the game world’s three eligible royal bachelors and has eyes only for the game villainess Claire François. Armed with exceptionally magical ability, Rae sets out determined to secure a happy ending for her beloved Claire against the coming revolution and perhaps win her heart in the process.
Now, the opening of I’m in Love with the Villainess is the series' weakest moment in all mediums, which, considering episode one’s outstanding quality, only highlights just how superb the Yuri masterpiece is as a whole. Even with its need to establish the setting, characters, and premise of the series, the premiere managed to be an excellent introduction and set the bar high with lots of laughs, entertainment, and service between our two leads.
Tumblr media
I watched the Japanese audio, and Yu Serizawa and Karin Nanami are fantastic in these roles, with Serizawa playing up Rae’s teasing adoration and borderline masochism at full blast, and Nanami explicitly giving voice to Claire’s arrogance and frustration. She even manages to deliver a perfect Ojou-style laugh to seal the character’s elite status and lean into the show’s use of otome tropes. And having the leads sing the excellent opening and ending themes is just icing on the cake.
Speaking of tropes, while Ironi’s original work is a genre-defying masterpiece that broke the Yuri mold, it is never afraid to play with the genre’s iconography and its otome game setting. Every other scene had another allusion, including to the book’s cover. As always, I am likely overeager to see connections, however intentional they may be, but the academy’s halls harken to otome staples, the bells and strings of the first scene's soundtrack conjured blistering memories of Strawberry Panic (perhaps a sacrilegious comparison to make but I digress), and even an areal shot of the campus was another check mark on my “Scenic Yuri” theory.
Now, as mentioned, I’m in Love with the Villainess has to establish the groundwork here, and narratively, these are the weakest moments, often direct exposition, with a few exceptions like Rae’s conversation with her roommate Mash about maintaining Claire’s attention. The narration is at least accompanied by relevant and creative, if perhaps limited, animation. But to their credit, these moments are succinct, existing only as long as they have to in order to provide the necessary information and get out of the way for what matters most: the characters.
Tumblr media
Rae and Claire are front and center from the very get-go, and there is little time wasted in showcasing Rae’s intense bottom energy or establishing Claire’s elitism and bewildered anger towards Rae’s excitement in the face of Claire’s carefully calculated cruelty. It is a montage of silly and fun competitions between the two that had me laughing and smiling all the way through, as the Yuri was present in full force, and gives glimpses at the mutual obsession the women have for each other that will soon blossom into a wonderful romance.
These early story beats have a light tone and focus on the bullying, teasing, and rivalry between Rae and Claire, a dynamic that previously and understandably made a subset of readers somewhat uncomfortable. However, assuming the anime unfolds in a similar manner to the manga and light novels, the narrative will explore meatier, heavier subject matter and a far deeper lesbian romance, all without losing its sense of fun and adventure. The next episode or two will be incredibly telling - as the source material is perhaps the most profound and forthright depictions of LGBTQ identity in Yuri, and that all starts with a pivotal conversation that, if it is included, will be coming up shortly.
Tumblr media
Overall, I am incredibly excited for this series. The first episode is everything I had hoped for out of an adaptation of one of my favorite works of all time, save the animation, which is average at best. While there is a lot more to see, and we will have to wait to know if I’m in Love with the Villainess lives up to its incredible potential and source material, I am extremely hopeful. We have one of the funniest, most thoughtful, and queerest works of Yuri transformed into a stunning anime project unlike anything that has come before and offers the chance at not just a new Yuri “gateway” but to continue the work of its source material in revolutionizing the genre.
Ratings: Story – 8 Characters – 10 Art – 5 LGBTQ – We shall see… Sexual Content – 3 Final – 8
I'm in Love with the Villainess is streaming on Crunchyroll with English sub/dub.

Wedding Day Blues.
my masterlist || ask me anything <3
my blurb masterlist is here!
authors note - i was watching ‘Sam and Billie the mummy diaries’ and it was the wedding episode so i decided to write something wedding inspired. 🤷‍♀️
word count - 2.4k
in which, it’s your and your fiancés wedding day, getting married in the garden of your shared italian villa, surrounded by your close friends and loved ones, but you can’t help but let the nerves get to you.
Tumblr media
Today was meant to be a day that you will never forget.
You and your fiancé had been engaged for a total of two years and today was the day the two of you would be tying the knot.
As you stand in the guest bedroom of your enchanting Italian villa, the soft morning sunlight streams through the window, casting a warm glow on the elegantly adorned room. The walls, painted in serene pastel hues, echo the timeless romance that fills the air on this momentous day. The delicate lace curtains sway gently, as if whispering secrets of love and anticipation.
Gazing outside, your heart swells with emotion as you witness the scene unfolding before you. The garden, a verdant paradise, is transformed into a sanctuary of love and celebration. Rows of pristine white chairs are meticulously arranged, each one a seat for a cherished guest, their faces alive with joy and excitement.
Your eyes are drawn to the majestic archway adorned with intertwined blooms and foliage, an emblem of unity and devotion. Beneath it, you and your beloved will stand, surrounded by the fragrant embrace of nature, ready to exchange vows that will bind your hearts eternally.
In the midst of this exquisite scene, workers bustle with quiet dedication, ensuring that every detail is perfect. The flowers, vibrant and fragrant, are arranged flawlessly. The soft, melodic hum of their preparations blends harmoniously with the rustling leaves and distant chirping of birds, creating a symphony of anticipation.
As you stand there, dressed in a gown that embodies your dreams and adorned with the promise of forever.
The dress was flowy, white and the bodice was designed with flowers, your hair was curled and in a bun.
A sense of profound gratitude washes over you. The villa, the garden, the archway—all bear witness to the love that has blossomed and grown, leading you to this magical moment. And as the day unfolds, you know that this chapter of your journey will be etched in your hearts and memories, a testament to the beauty of love and the artistry of life.
As you watch from the window, a rush of emotions courses through you as you see your fiancé, Harry, take his place at the altar. His presence is commanding, yet his eyes hold a vulnerability that speaks to the depth of your connection. The weight of the moment presses against your chest, and your hands tremble uncontrollably.
Nerves begin to tighten their grip, a tide of anxiety that threatens to overwhelm you. You realise you need to step away from the window, away from prying eyes, to find solace in the privacy of your own thoughts. Slowly, you retreat from the view, your heart racing as you navigate the room.
Sinking onto the edge of the bed, you try to steady your breathing, but the panic has taken hold. Your breath comes in shallow gasps, and your vision blurs as the world around you becomes a blur of colours and shapes. It's as if the weight of the moment, the culmination of so many dreams and hopes, has become too much to bear all at once.
In the midst of this overwhelming rush of sensations, you clutch at the sheets beneath your fingers, seeking an anchor amidst the storm. Your mind races, thoughts colliding, and tears prick at the corners of your eyes. You close your eyes, trying to regain control, to remind yourself that this moment is a celebration of love, a union of two souls meant to be together.
As you sit on the edge of the bed, lost in the grip of your panic attack, you're startled by a gentle knock on the door. Your father's voice, warm and familiar, floats through the air, breaking through the fog of your distress.
"Hey darling, are you almost ready? It's almost time."
However, in the midst of your overwhelming emotions, the sound of his knock doesn't register. You remain caught in the clutches of your anxiety, your breathing erratic, your hands trembling. Your father, sensing that something might be amiss, quietly enters the room.
As he approaches you, concern etches his face. He takes in the sight of you, shaken and struggling to catch your breath.
"Sweetheart, what's wrong?" he asks softly, his voice a soothing balm against the storm that rages within you. He places a gentle hand on your shoulder, attempting to offer comfort.
You try to respond, to explain the torrent of feelings that has engulfed you, but your words are caught in your throat. Tears gather in your eyes, and you find it difficult to meet his gaze. His presence, though, is a lifeline, a reminder of the love and support that surrounds you.
Your father's touch is steady and unwavering as he continues to reassure you.
"It's okay, my love. Just take a deep breath with me." His voice is a lifeline, guiding you through the storm with every word.
He encourages you to focus on your breath, guiding you in inhaling and exhaling, the rhythm slowly helping to ground you. His calming presence, his unwavering love, begins to chip away at the edges of your panic, offering a glimmer of relief.
As the waves of panic slowly recede, you manage to find your voice, your trembling words breaking through the lingering unease.
"I want Harry," you mutter, the simple desire a beacon of clarity amidst the emotional tumult.
Your father's eyes soften with understanding, and he nods in response, a silent affirmation of your wishes. With a reassuring squeeze of your shoulder, he offers a comforting smile. "Of course, my dear. I'll be right back."
He steps away from you, leaving a sense of warmth and reassurance in his wake. The space around you is filled with a mixture of anticipation and a newfound sense of serenity. You watch as he leaves the room, his footsteps fading down the corridor, a promise that he'll bring the one who can anchor you most in this moment of vulnerability.
Harry stands at the altar, a black tuxedo, with a frilly colour and a long, thin black tie, matching trousers and some heeled chelsea boots on his feet, the embodiment of nerves and excitement, his heart racing as he waits for the moment you'll appear. His gaze sweeps over the rows of seated guests, their faces illuminated by the soft golden light of the sun. The garden around him is alive with anticipation, each petal and leaf whispering of the love that's about to unfold.
But as he scans the garden, his eyes seeking the vision of you he's held in his heart, a flicker of concern crosses his features. You're nowhere to be seen, and his brow furrows with worry. His gaze narrows, hoping for a glimpse of your familiar figure emerging from the villa, but the seconds stretch on, and you remain absent.
Confusion deepens into concern as he tilts his head, trying to discern any sign of what might be amiss. His heart beats faster, the rhythm of the moment disrupted by the absence of the one he's been waiting for. Just as worry begins to tighten its grip, he notices your father approaching him, a determined expression on his face.
"Harry," your father says, his voice steady, though laced with urgency. "I need to talk to you for a moment."
He offers a reassuring smile, his eyes holding a mix of empathy and understanding.
Harry's heart skips a beat, his apprehension growing as he steps forward to meet your father.
"Is everything alright?" he asks, his voice carrying the weight of concern.
Your father takes a deep breath before speaking, his tone measured and calm. "There's been a little hiccup with (Y/N). She's inside the villa, and she needs a moment."
A rush of emotions sweeps over Harry as reality sinks in. He nods in understanding, his thoughts racing. "Is she okay?"
Your father's eyes soften, and he places a reassuring hand on Harry's shoulder. "She's with us. Just needed a moment to gather herself. I wanted to let you know."
Without another word, Harry turns on his heels and rushes back down the aisle toward the villa. He moves with an urgency fueled by love and concern, his heart pounding in his chest.
Time seems to stretch as you wait, the air pregnant with anticipation. In the distance, the sounds of laughter and murmured conversations from the garden drift through the window, a reminder of the celebration that awaits. And then, as if a gentle whisper of destiny, the door opens once again.
And there he is—Harry, your anchor, your rock, your source of solace. His presence fills the room, a magnetic force that draws you closer to him. As his eyes meet yours, you see an understanding there, a connection that transcends words.
In that instant, all the swirling worries and fears seem to melt away, replaced by a sense of security that only his presence can provide. He barely spares a glance at your dress, as if deliberately averting his gaze to maintain the element of surprise.
Without hesitation, Harry crosses the room, his movements fueled by a sense of urgency to be by your side. He crouches down in front of you, his fingers gently finding yours, his touch a lifeline as he holds your trembling hands. His eyes search your face, his concern etched in his expression.
"Hey," he says softly, his voice a tender murmur that seems to fill the room. "What's wrong? Talk t’me."
You draw in a shaky breath, feeling the safety of his presence as you begin to voice the jumbled thoughts that have been plaguing your mind.
"I'm really nervous, H," you admit, your words a vulnerable confession of your inner turmoil.
Harry's grip on your hands tightens, his thumb rubbing soothing circles on your skin.
"It's okay t’be nervous, m’honey," he reassures you, his gaze unwavering. "But we're in this together. Y’and me, right?"
A tear escapes your eye, and you nod, your voice barely a whisper. "I know, but... I want to make sure you're making the right decision by marrying me. I don't want you to regret it."
Harry's brow furrows slightly, his eyes searching yours with a mixture of understanding and determination.
"Listen t’me," he says firmly, his voice carrying a depth of emotion that leaves no room for doubt. "There's no one else, (Y/N), baby You're the only one I want, the only one I've ever wanted."
The weight of his words settles over you like a warm embrace, filling the space around you with a sense of profound clarity. In his gaze, you see a reflection of the love that has brought you to this moment, a love that is steadfast and unwavering.
With a tender smile, Harry reaches up to wipe away the tear that has fallen from your eye. "I'm here because I want t’be, because I choose y’every single day. We're a team, and we're on this journey together."
As you hold Harry's gaze, your heart swells with emotion, the words you're about to speak carrying the weight of vulnerability.
"Harry, I'm not like everyone else you've dated," you begin, your voice soft yet resolute. "I'm not a model, I'm not famous, I'm just... average."
The sincerity in your words hangs in the air, a testament to your own insecurities, a fear that you might not measure up to the glamorous lives he's been a part of. But before you can say more, Harry interrupts you, his voice gentle yet firm. "Hey, don't say that."
His fingers find yours, his touch grounding you in the moment. The look in his eyes is earnest, a reflection of his genuine emotions. "You're not just 'average',your (Y/N). Y’unique, y’beautiful, and y’perfect just the way y’are. Y’don't have t’be like anyone else. That's not why I love you."
The weight of his words washes over you, a tide of reassurance that erases the doubts you've been carrying. His sincerity wraps around you like a warm embrace, pushing away the shadows of comparison and self-doubt. In this moment, you understand that Harry's love transcends the surface and superficial, and that his feelings for you run deep.
He lifts your chin gently, his thumb brushing against your cheek as he gazes into your eyes. "Y’are not defined by anyone else's standards. Y’not just a sum of y’parts. Y’you, and that's all I ever wanted."
As Harry continues to hold your hands, his fingers gently intertwined with yours, his observant gaze catches the subtle tremble that still lingers in your fingers.
A hint of concern flickers in his eyes, and he offers a tender smile, his voice a soothing balm. "Y’know, there's an idea that just crossed m’mind."
You meet his gaze, curious and attentive, eager to hear what he's thinking.
"What is it?" you ask, your voice a mixture of curiosity and anticipation.
His smile widens, and his words are spoken with a warmth that radiates through the room. "What if... what if we walked down the aisle together?"
The suggestion hangs in the air, its simplicity carrying a depth of understanding that resonates with you. The idea of facing the nervousness together, as a team, is both comforting and intriguing. You take a moment to consider it, letting the concept settle within your heart.
"Walk down the aisle together?" you repeat, your thoughts taking shape. "You mean, like, side by side?"
Harry nods, his gaze unwavering, his expression filled with unwavering support. "Yeah, that way y’won't have t’feel nervous. We'll face whatever comes together."
His words echo the sentiment you've come to cherish—the idea of partnership, of sharing the journey, of supporting one another through challenges. You let his suggestion sink in, and a sense of relief begins to replace the lingering apprehension.
After a beat, you smile, your heart lighter than it's been in moments. "Yeah, that would make me feel a lot better."
Harry's eyes light up, his smile mirroring your own as he uses one hand to your hand gently and uses his free hand to wipe under your eyes, making sure your mascara didn’t smudge. "Good. It's settled then. We'll walk down that aisle together, facing whatever comes hand in hand."
His words are a promise, a reassurance that even in the face of nervousness and uncertainty, you'll find strength in each other's presence. As you lock eyes with Harry, you're reminded once again of the power of love, the connection that can ease even the most anxious of hearts.

This image got me thinking about A Cup Of Love Dieter... a little drabble, nothing wild, just soft.
Dieter Bravo x F!Reader. Just slightly over 1k words written on a whim this evening...
Enjoy! 🖤
A CUP OF LOVE MASTERLIST | DIETER BRAVO MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
He knows that you secretly loathe these events that you’re dragged to, sparkling on his arm like some expensive diamond, when you tell yourself you're nothing but a zirconia really.
He’s not really fond of them either. Too full of panache and charade, but it’s part of the gig.
If he had the choice to stay at home with you, smothered in a sherpa lined blanket whilst bingeing murder crime docs and eating French toast with that little berry compote thing you make, the one that reminds him of his Grandma’s strudel, he’d trade that for all the weighty statues with his name engraved on them any day.
Just to feel you snuggled into him under his arm as you say you’re not sleepy after episode seven, and he says you are and you insist you’re not, but you doze off anyway, snuffling lightly into his warm pit.
Dieter also knows you only go to these things for him, despite you feeling somewhat aloof and out of place.
He sees it, that glazed look in your eyes as stylists and make-up artists fuss over you and turn you into a version of yourself you don’t recognise all throughout awards season.
He always glimpses you as you stare back into the mirror, peering at yourself with a stumped look and wonders why it is you don’t see how stunning you are to him, whether you’re in sleek Prada tailored for you, or frayed sweatpants with holes in the crotch.
He promised you he’d shield you from this world as best as he could, if that was what you wanted. But you also want to celebrate him, show the world how proud you are, because damn you’re so fucking proud of him and all that he’s achieved.
Even if you can’t quite breathe in the dress when you sit, and the heels are blistering your toes that are squished into them before you’ve even begun walking.
Amid the glittering spectacle of the awards show, you walk the red carpet with him, squeezing his arm or his hand, and he always squeezes back, never letting you fall. Always reassuring you in the car ride there that he won’t let you fall, at least twenty times before you arrive. I promise you, I won’t let you fall, baby.
The cameras are there for him, incessant shutters sounding like machine guns in your ears as you present practised pearly gnashers with an aching jaw.
Dieter kisses your temple, rubs the skin on your lower back, whispers that you look incredible in that tight magenta and it’s making him hard; all things that aren’t for the cameras.
They’re for you.
And you do smile, genuinely, as it all fades away. He has that knack of making them all disappear before your eyes, like a magic trick, when he looks at you like that.
All warm, cocoa brown eyes set in crinkly laughter lines. Tan skin in an open collar, and greying scruff tamed with Chanel lotions.
Curls slick and silken replacing the silver-streaked ball of frazzled fluff you run your fingers through when he rests his head in your lap, or between your legs making you squeal and buck into his face as you twist and pull at the roots whilst he makes you come undone with that pink, slick tongue he bites between his teeth when he smirks and winks at the cameras.
He’s not acting. It’s real. It’s all Dieter and he’s all yours.
As real as the discomfort radiating from your feet. The sky-high heels you wear, though apparently fashionable, are exacting their toll with every agonising step. Each moment seems to exacerbate the ache, as though your shoes are made of steel rather than matching satin to your dress.
Dieter glances at you, a mixture of empathy and awe in his eyes, realising the lengths you go to for the sake of appearances. In that unguarded moment, your vulnerability only deepens his admiration for you, recognizing the strength and determination it takes to endure such discomfort with grace in such a public forum.
But despite your demure appearance, you kick off your shoes under the table the first chance you get, as you watch the ceremony, him by your side. Your fingers knotted inside his, stroking over worn knuckles and silver rings.
It's not his night, he’s not nominated this time, but he has been before, and he will be again.
You watch him put on his new specs so he can see better, and you stroke affectionately under his chin as he blushes and nuzzles his chin into your palm, not caring who sees how you make him weak.
He sticks to water most of the night; only one glass of champagne to toast his friend and mentor who is honoured with an esteemed accolade in the business, but even then he leaves most of the glass after a sip or two, and you smile proudly at his resilience.
How you make him strong.
You know these events are hard for him too. Where he once would relish the bawdy opportunity to get wasted, papped coming out of a party half-undressed and falling into some strangers bed, sweaty and not remembering their name in the morning, he now longs to leave before midnight and crawl into bed with you for a good cuddle and a cup of love.
Dieter watches you mingle in between awards, getting starstruck as you chat with revered actors whom you watched on the silver screen when you were small and ungainly, and he can’t quite contain the grin as he notices you gushing at Hollywood royalty whilst you’re completely barefoot.
Little painted toes peeking out from under your dress, wiggling in their excitement, as you laugh and chat, and the stars in your eyes twinkle like the droplets dangling from your lobes.
Smiling so hard your jaw aches as you make your way back to the table and Dieter’s holding up your shoes to his chest, smirking at you.
You take them from him, not caring you’ve been rumbled, and simply chuck them under the table.
You go without them for the remainder of the evening.
And that right there is one of the reasons why Dieter loves you so much, because despite your worries that you don’t always fit into his world, he knows that you absolutely do.
Because sometimes, just sometimes, you're just as wild and carefree as he is.

I love the season 2 that we got SO MUCH. It just boldly went into a whole new direction, with a whole new tone to the series, and it worked so well! And they could’ve stumbled so badly with that budget and episode cut, but they didn’t.
With those cuts, it would’ve been sensible to remove a lot of characters from the show without much explanation. Instead we got a whole strange storyline of Buttons turning into a bird which gets tied to Ed’s journey of change. We got a whole episode of Mary and Anne’s fucked up relationship. We got Archie with her snake cult stories and polycule storyline. We got Zheng’s storyline with her crew and Auntie and Olu. We got Ned Low and Prince Ricky as antagonists. To me, it never felt like anything was taken away from us with season 2. Somehow, we just got more of everything.
Everyone poured so much love and effort and care into making this show. Every little thing, from creating merman Stede piece by piece, to Rhys doing the underwater scenes despite almost drowning in the past, to the improv the cast came up with for the scenes, to Samba spending his days on set just to shoot BTS for us all, to Kristian taking the time to organize WJWs, to how they all treated each other on set. I am in fucking awe of them.
I love everything about the Calypso's Birthday episode except that Ed and Stede did not get to dance. I was so furious when Ned Low attacked just as they were heading to the dancefloor! I calmed myself by thinking, “We'll see them dance in season 3, it’s going to parallel this scene but they’ll actually get to dance and no one attacks them." And then the show got cancelled.
I think the dance would’ve been such a nice, peaceful moment between Ed and Stede, because they’ve been through so much and they didn’t really get to just be with each other in season 2. So yeah that’s the only thing I really mourn about that episode.
And I’m sad that so many scenes with minor characters had to be cut, but Ed and Stede’s story was the main focus and they had to make some tough choices with the rest of the story. Almost everything that I don’t like about season 2 would’ve been fixed if they only had more time to include more moments with the crew and to flesh out the new characters, and if the story had a bit of space to breathe at times.
This is also why I believe in the potential of season 3 so much. They made this kind of magic with a 40% budget cut and 2 episodes less. They could make fucking miracles happen if they were given season 3 with a bigger budget and more episodes.

Champagne Problems | Jenna Ortega
Warnings: none
Tumblr media
I basically got hate crimed on wattpad for this, so might as well share it <3
Part Two | champagne problems
Tumblr media
Your high heeled shoe collided into the floor, the rain droplets falling onto your face as you darted down the open street. Your heart clenched, aching from lack of love. Your life, your whole world came crashing down the second you saw your beautiful girlfriend kneel down infront of you, popping a question the both of you knew you'd never answer truthfully.
Finally, your body slumped into a train seat, hoping to dream away your recent life. Your heart was grief-stricken, your eyes doleful when you glanced at your open view of the forest infront of you. Your fingers played with the edge of the table, fingers occupied with the hem of the dangling fabric; praying to distract your mind from the chocolate brown eyes you fell in love with, and ultimately broke.
Your bottom lip quivered, eyes trembling with tears; your throat bobbled with tears, gasping as they fell. Your ears were covered, blocking out the white noise that took place outside your booth.
Your headphones were wrapped around your head, pressed to your ears. Music, music was always an escape. Music was a drug, you was a simple slave to any type of music. Your hands finally gave up, leaving the poor table rug; instead, fiddling with the wire of your headphone.
Humming to your self, the music brought some sort of distraction; deteriorating you from the nawaing pain seeping through your mind. The heavy sign leaving your lips caught the attention of the sweet liking women sat next to you. She nudged your shoulder, so you took off your headphones.
"Rough night, dear?" The older women asked, scooting over to the spear seat next to yours. You shuffled back, attempting to sniffle your tearful gasps.
"You could say that-"
Your arms were tightly wrapped around Jenna's body, swaying her in the refrigerator light. You laughed softly, giggling at how Jenna spun herself harder; her hair flicking into your face, turning the mood playful.
Jenna began to laugh, her fingers gently brushing her loose hair out of your face. She smiled when she finally saw your face. She smiled like no one was watching, revelling in the way you looked at her; nothing but love.
"I swear I love you more everyday." The brunette expressed, driving her lips forward and pressing them to yours. You gasped, placing your hands to her cheek; cupping her face as you kissed.
"I'm just so irresistible." You teased, pressing her lips to her nose; loving how it scrunched when you did. She stared at you, lifting herself up on her tip-toes.
"Kiss me!"
Your mind was fogged, plagued with the memories at how Jenna took up most of your younger life. Dating, falling in love with someone at such a young age was always magical. To Jenna's great horror, and your great amusement, you'd always tell people you and Jenna had a Disney love story.
You were 17, jenna was filming in some Disney channel episode in a school you attended. She smiled, you blushed and you two were already in love. Fast forward 3 years, and somehow you were still the same hopelessly in love teenager who couldn't stop her feelings for the pretty famous girl who starred in a film that took place in your school.
But at the end of every sad song, every tragic book; falling in love with someone and being in love with them were different things.
"Some one hurt you that bad?" In any other case you would be uncontrollable, hating every moment of the older women near you; her prying on your tragic story. But since your leg was bouncing, tears rimmed to your eyes; you couldn't care.
"I was proposed to today, my girlfriend asked me earlier-" once again, your mind wasn't set on the train. You was met with the unbearable sound of Jenna's family.
"I have no clue what Jenna's planning, I haven't seen her all day" Your question, your wonder to where your girlfriend was, made her sisters infront of you snicker to themselves; laughing into their champagne glass.
"She'll be here soon, don't worry your little mind." Mia her oldest sister promised, she pressed her body to yours holding you in a hug. Kissing your cheek, before leaving to talk to other members of the family.
Your body darted through different crowds of people. You had to talk to most of Jenna's family, but soon enough your body landed in the corner of the room; tucked away like a dirty lie.
Jenna walked over to the mic in the middle of the room, smiling with her award winning smile. She looked elegant, absolutely flawless. Your heart fluttered, face immediately flushing. Her eyes met yours, her smile etching even wider; her dimples hollowing out, bright white teeth flashing.
"There's my beautiful girl. Come up her, baby." Her hands guided you towards where she was standing. Your body froze, sinking into the floor when everyone in the room shifted their gaze towards you and how you was stuck to the wall like a fly.
You shuffled through the crowd, different members of the groups coo'd, awwing at how Jenna shifted on her feet; antsy for when you was near her.
"There we go." She greeted you, pressing a kiss to your cheek. She offered her hand, helping you get up the stairs. The moment your heel hit the floor, her arm was wrapped around your waist and you was tugged towards her.
"Mother, Father. Throughout my life you've always praised a life, promised me one full of love. Simply, I didnt believe you, not until I met my Y/N. Y/N, you're perfection, simple and easy. The light in the darkness, the rainbow in a storm, the colour when im blind. You're the love of my life, I don't think i'll ever be able to love, or have the capability to even think about loving another person as much as I love you. Famously, the day, not even hours after our first date, the one we're I got a Polaroid of you, I removed my mom's picture from my wallet and changed it to you. I've always had trouble with second guessing myself, but im so sure right now. Im so embarrassing in love with you that i know that this is right."
Your heart stopped. The words she said, the meaningful moments she shared with the crowd, they all built up to something you knew she would eventually work up to doing. Her smile, something you would kill to see, a sight that held a better view than the priceless paintings Jenna forced you to look at on your 5th date.
Your eyes glanced to the floor. Your jaw clenched, clamping down before the tear trickled down your cheek. Her family roared, screaming their adoration of the love you and Jenna shared, their words ringing through your ears. Jenna sighed, tucking her suit pants up before taking a knee.
Your eyes trembled shut, a steady gasp leaving your parted lips. The ocean leaked from your eyes, your teeth taking home in your bottom lip.
"Will you marry me?"
Your eyes rolled back, praying she didn't say those words; that she hadn't just asked something so intimate, so special infront of a crowd, her family of all people.
She smiled through teary eyes, her tears of happiness and the hope of being yours forever. You licked your lip through darkness, a cast of reality dawning on you.
"Jenna-" she looked up at you, her nose scrunched with how hard she was smiling. You noticed her freckles-
Throughout your relationship she was so insecure about her freckles, the way her nose, cheek and some part of her forehead was painted with brown dots; you always thought they were beautiful, more of her to love.
"Well, will you?" Jenna whispered, her eyes darting into the crowd of people, watching how her mom looked at her with sorrow.
"Yes." The words burnt to say, husking through your gritted teeth. Jenna's eyes flooded with relief, a slight nod and a ring was pushed onto your finger.
The crowd clapped, Jenna kissed your cheek and you officially destroyed any party of your mental health.
The music plastered through the room. Jenna's fingers were pressed into your back, your head resting on her shoulder.
"I need to tell you something." You mustered all the might in your system. Jenna pulled away slightly, her thumb rubbing down your cheek, scratching away the tear.
"Whats wrong, love?" She giggled, swaying to the side slightly. She was stil so foolishly in love, already head over heels for the fraud dream she stormed up the moments your lips released the strained, yes.
"I cant marry you."
Jenna stared wide eyes at you, her mouth catching flies. Her face suddenly distressed, baffled at your confession.
"Excuse me?"
Your eyes once again clenched shut, holding in a shaken sigh. You rolled your head to her shoulder; not wanting to cause a scene.
"I love you so much-" you whispered into her ear. She breathed heavy, arms tight around your waist, holding you still.
"But?" She hushed back. Just by the sound of her voice you could tell she was hurting, the way her throat swelled.
"I'm not ready, we're 20 Jenna. We still have the world to explore, we still haven't found ourselves yet. Don't you want to see what your life will turn out like before ending it and getting stuck with me?" There was many things floating through your mind, self doubt, insecurities, self worth. Jenna didn't deserved to be tied down by someone like you, you was a no one and Jenna was everything.
"You think you'd be stuck with me?" Her tone is shake, obviously caught off guard by the sudden realisation that her perfect life was just a fairytale she dreamed up of in her youth.
"You don't- you don't want to marry me?" She all but whimpered, her face red with hurt. Her eyes were tearful, glossy at the sight. She blinked, a tear trickled down her freckled cheek. You wanted to wipe it away, to whisper you was just being stupid and you'd love her until your last breath; but that wasn't your journey in life, you wasn't born to be hers; she wasn't born to be yours.
Your bottom lip trembled, you cursed yourself for having the nerve to cry in a moment like this. This wasn't your time to be emotional, you should be consoling Jenna, not yourself.
Your eyes rolled back before locking shut, an unsteady breath leaving your parted lips. Your jaw went slack, your tongue feeling heavy in your mouth. You had no reasonable excuse per say, you didn't have a good enough reason to not want to marry Jenna.
She was Jenna Ortega for crying out loud; Americans current heart throb, and for some strange and unknown reason, she wanted you.
Her fingers that were wrapped around your waist grew tight; she held on to you just incase you'd disappear, and when your body tugged away from her warm embrace she was right.
Everything was slipping out of her hands, so slowly that she had to watch with glassy eyes.
"I'm so sorry, Jenna." The only think you remember after shamefully muttering your half-hearted goodbyes was your heels slamming into the concrete floor, causing a scene at your own proposal.
"Y/N!" Jenna's broken down voice wept into the air, her disillusioned love screaming in her face; mocking her triumphs of having a life with you. Her tortured frame disappeared into the crowd the further your body traveled through the mist of strangers.
Her mom's voice bled into the air around her, her immediate family swarming her agonised body; leaching onto her sudden drama filled life, prying into her intimate business of her fallen love.
"You would have made such a lovely bride." Jenna's mom cooed into Jenna's ear, holding Jenna as her tearful sobs left her, she gasped on her own mourning full thoughts. Her mom brushed her brown hair, shushing Jenna, rocking her back and forth; cradling her like a screaming baby.
"What a shame she was fucked in the head." Jenna's mom knew she shouldn't have whispered such hateful words, knowing it would infuriate her daughter infront of her; but Natalie would do anything to stop her daughter from hating herself, even if that meant Jenna would hate her own mom for the time being.
"Mom! She's just confused, I sprung too much on her. She- she's Y/N, she's always been my Y/N, and-" Jenna teared herself away from the motherly touch of her mom, staring with a hurtful glare when the older women would spew such nonsense about someone she loved.
"We'll be fine."
You was riddled with shame, contagious of being a monster. How could you stand there and tell someone, someone who you had loved for the better part of your life that you couldn't marry them.
Jenna was perfect, she was the sun to your moon, the sand to your ocean, the sky to your clouds, the night to your stars. She was your everything and within one simple line, one single sentance everything blew up.
You was embarrassed she'd ask you in front of everyone, people you didn't know. That she'd ask you without having the presence of your own family, your own loved ones; that wasn't the whole reason you said no.
How could you amount to anything in a life like she had. She had luxuries, wealth and a last name that bought her any seat. She was miss perfect and you was just some girl she thought about on her days off.
You couldn't, you wouldn't put yourself through her busy scheduled years. It's one thing being a girlfriend to a famous person, it's another being their wife. You would have to live with her, move when she had to travel far away, her family would be yours. All the factors daunted down on you, fried your memory each time you'd thick about it too hard.
Jenna wanted a family, she wanted to be a mom. You didnt.
She would be such a good mom, she would be such a perfect wife; it was a shame you wouldn't be that for her.
"What happened?" The women asked again, hoping to bring some peice of mind to you; wanting to tied the last final puzzle pieces together.
"I left her dancing, I left without giving a reason." You mumbled bitterly out into the open space. Your face was turned towards the window, the mear thought of witnessing someone's reaction to your dirty deed twisted your stomach unpleasantly.
"I hope she won't remember all my champagne problems."

3.3k words summarizing queliot if you've never seen the magicians. or if youve seen it and you want to indulge in my insane criticisms. lord touch his mind
okay so the magicians was a tv show about a bunch of post grads learning magic in magic university then discovering that the fantasy world from a kids book series was actually real and the Beast of that world was out to get them. WHO GIVES A FUCK. the crazy people were focused on the relationship btwn main character quentin coldwater (depressed, heart on his sleeve, surprise sex maniac who is new to magic and loves those books) and gay best friend eliot waugh (substance addicted (big surprise!!), gay trauma, named after evelyn waugh oh you know…) they form a friendship and it’s weirdly touchy and close. eliot keeps trying to seduce quentin but it’s never serious. i dont even think quentin notices. anyone remember the “lets not talk” scene? he was about to fuck that sad man. anyway this tension was actually fulfilled by the end of the 1st season with a drunk threesome including the two and their best friend margo. they at least kiss and cuddle and MAYBE sucked dick if the ghost of his girlfriend who haunts him later is to be believed (which i do #cockinhismouthsunday).
at this time articles that were like “THIS SIFI SERIES IS PROUDLY BISEXUAL” were coming out which. lol. lmfao! quentin never had any sort of queer identity. not even a hint of it. the homophobia of the show started with the regurgitation of the “sad drunk lonely sex-crazed” gay man trope with eliot, then the “everyone is fluid but no one actually has same sex attraction” trope, THEN by sidelining and killing off almost every gay or trans character, THEN THE QUENTIN THING. and the quentin thing turned people insane. let’s see why.
so after the threesome, eliot and quentin continue having a good friendship. there is some tension that isnt present with margo which sure is a choice… but it is resolved by a heartfelt crowning ceremony nd hug. oh theyre kings of the magic land now btw. eliot and q are pretty much separate from this point on xcept for certain episodes/moments. it is strange they dont have any storylines together. but love finds a way. at some point a version of eliot sacrifies himself for quentin. if u look at the scene it is on instinct it is crazy. then they reunite at the end of s2 but it’s all business really. the show was really involved w its nonsense plot.
anyway season 3. hahaha. so like i said theyre separate most of the show past s1. this is true in this season xcept for episodes 305 and 313 (with some notable moments in between). the plot of this season is that they have to go on quests to collect keys. the creature that gives eliot this plot calls quentin his “brother of the heart”. ok! when they see each other for the first time in a while in 304, they hug in a very sweet way :) look at this photo from bts during that scene :) i have it framed
Tumblr media
after a series of other quests, 305 turns out to be the Eliot and Quentin quest! finally a story with the two! the quest is for the “time key”, which is fabled to be given to whoever solves the mosaic puzzle in fillory (magic world). the puzzle? they have to arrange 100s of tiles in a way that depicts “the beauty of all life”. quentin is very excited about it. eliot is happy to hear him infodump. they eventually get pushed into fillory to solve the mosaic. turns out they were also sent DECADES in the past. there might have been a way out but they were dead-set on solving the mosaic and getting their key. so they get to work. they live in a cottage attached to the mosaic and they spend hours, days, months on it. just the two of them and the mosaic. this episode is called “a life in a day” which is so perfect you wonder why the writing couldnt be that good within the show.
at the 1 year anniversary, quentin kisses eliot. and eliot kisses him back. and you wonder woah what does this mean?! well keep wondering girl because this tv show does not care to explore any of that. it chugs on and eliot and q fight about “living their lives there” and quentin gets a Wife and has a child with her and then she DIES (leaving her as a narrative incubator rather than an actual character, which is very in line with the sexism of the show). and they grow up and decades pass and the child grows old enough to leave and it seems eliot co-parented him but (again) the tv show doesnt care to show you that. and this whole time theyre working on the mosaic. years and years. eventually they grow old. it’s just the two of them. until eliot dies. quentin goes to bury him in the mosaic plot and he finds a special little tile. he places it in the mosaic. he gets the key. the puzzle is solved. “the beauty of all life”. but quentin is alone. his life companion is gone. and that’s the last we see of him.
we go back in time til before they enter fillory. their friend stops them and she has the key through time shenanigans and they never live that timeline. UNTIL!!!!! they do. they remember it all. what does decades (50 yrs btw) of living happily together mean for them?!? FUCK ALL APPARENTLY!!!! because the next episode (306 if yr keep track) they mention it ONCE AND NEVER AGAIN. and there is so much beneath the surface with the looks and the line that mentions it (“go be life partners with someone else” eliot says jokingly in a manner that shouldve been the catalyst to quentin’s magic-induced suicide spiral later that episode).
ok quentin does mention it once more to his dying dad. but nothing about his Male Life Partner Of Fifty Years. Nothing. they dont even talk about it with their best friends, leading one to believe they just kept it a secret . which. okay.
okay. so theyre apart til the last episode of the season. and quentin decides to sacrifice himself by locking himself in a cage with a monster for all of eternity. he says the quest prepared him for it which is yikesss. eliot refuses. but quentin insists. they travel to the prison (he gets back together with his gf during this trip btw they had been apart that season after some shit. one of their worst writing decisions i hate this stupid ass cockroach relationship). quentin almost exchanges himself. then eliot shoots the monster. dooming them all.
so the monster doesnt die. instead he possesses eliot. and that becomes the story for season 4. at first quentin and co think eliot is dead. and it’s devastating lol. an interesting thing is that the monster was so. touchy with quentin. unbearably so. it’s such a perverse reflection of eliot’s touch. which is sorta pointed out by quentin in this quote (paraphrase) “i know it’s not eliot. but he has his face and his eyes…”
anyhow 405. hahahahahaha. so this episode it’s revealed eliot is alive but trapped in his own head. and to get out for a moment and tell his friends he’s alive, he needs to confront his most terrible most shameful memory. the whole episode is him trying to figure out what it is. meanwhile, quentin and co are setting up a plan to kill the monster. and quentin breaks up with his gf (lol). in a deleted scene that WAS shown in promo they argue about the monster. and quentin says “im team eliot”. lol
anyhow, eliot’s hit a dead end. he cant figure the worst thing that’s happened in his life. then his memory of quentin (theyve been hangin out) says he’ll “sacrifice” himself if he had to. eliot smiles and says “i know youre just a memory… but youre a very generous one.” and quentin says— (im reciting this from memory btw all of this has been from 4 years of NON STOP thinking about it) quentin says “well you sacrifice for the people you love” and he gives eliot a VERY pointed look. and then it dawns on eliot. and the guilt is instantly palpable.
hahahahha. hahaha. hahahahahaha. okay so eliot goes to the memory he knows is the worst thing he’s ever done. his most traumatic memory, after a lifetime of violent homophobia and bad choices. the person possessed before him described this memory as being “the day he left home”.
the memory? the day they remembered their past lives. did it happen? fifty years. it happened.
theyre sat under a wedding arch (that was the b plot of the episode lol). it’s beautiful. eliot watches the memory play out, standing in front of the seated figures. the guilt. the guilt.
outside, the tension is building. the plan to kill the monster is in motion. quentin has to coax him to a certain spot. he has to look at him as he kills his best friend.
eliot doesnt know this but he gets anxious watching it play out. there is a certainty that this is it. the first time viewer has no idea whats going on. we never saw the direct aftermath of them remembering. we always assumed there wasnt anything.
well a year after 305 aired, a yr after thinking THAT WAS IT, they recontextualize Everything.
it is worth saying here that in the promo interviews leading up to season 4, quentin’s and eliot’s actors were sussing it UP. quentin’s at some point talks on q’s queerness, saying it was the one aspect of his life he didnt feel anxious about.
well
what happens is that quentin asks eliot for a relationship. remember how it was quentin who first kissed eliot? it happens again. heart on his fucking sleeve. i can recite this scene pretty well so im going to fucking do it:
did it happen? fifty years. it happened. it was sort of beautiful. it really was. i know this is gonna sound dumb but … us. i mean we work. we know it cause we lived it. who gets that proof of concept? (eliot smiles uneasily) we just got injected with fifty years of memories so i get that youre not thinking clearly. no im just saying… what if we gave it a shot, would that be so crazy? (eliot looks down, worried and thoughtful. quentin smiles RADIANTLY it is BLINDING) why the fuck not?
editors opinion: quentin is such a beautiful person. to be so truthful about something so scary is unthinkable. especially in context of him being so hopelessly and quietly in love his childhood best friend, and his whirlwind romance with previously mentioned gf, and all the tragedy he endured with these two. but this is someone who loves with his whole heart. what was he supposed to do? contain it?
then eliot hardens.
i know you and you arent… whats the matter? dont be naive it matters. (pause) q i love you but… that isnt me and that definitely isnt you. not when we have a choice. (quentin looks away. he wipes his eye) oh. okay. sorry.
and silence. the real eliot, the eliot who isnt the memory, looks on. tired and angry, he speaks to himself:
what the hell is wrong with you? what the hell are you doing? someone Good and True… Loves you. yeah it was a little crazy but you knew. you knew this truly mattered. and you just SNUFFED IT OUT.
then he looks to the memory of quentin. soft as the clouds:
q. im sorry. i was afraid. and when im afraid i run away.
then he kisses him. and he hits you with the thesis of the episode:
if i ever get out of here q… know that when im braver it cause i learned it from you.
well
Tumblr media
thats his most traumatic memory. he is granted passage to consciousness. what is the first thing he sees? quentin. the real quentin.
q? (smiles) q (laughs) it’s me. it’s eliot. ok come on no games. it’s eliot. i said no games. (eliot looks around, worried as all hell) fifty years (he walks towards q) who gets proof of concept like that? what? peaches and plums motherfucker (this is the symbol to their mosaic life) im alive in here. (eyes as wide as saucers, heart in his throat) eliot…
and he ruins their plans of killing the monster. “eliot’s alive.”
then the episodes keep rolling. “eliot eliot eliot. why do you care so much about him?” “because i do.” and “wow i love that plan. except the part where it doesnt save eliot.” quentin gets back with his gf for reasons only the devil knows. but fine ok whatever quentin and eliot will HAVE to talk post-saving. even if the writers ignore it once more they have some kind of relationship. and they do save eliot in the finale! you know who they dont save? lmfao
quentin dies. in a manner that many including myself found weird and unsatisfactory and suicidal. and he never gets to know how eliot feels. never. he’s just gone. their story means nothing 💯
editors note: this ending broke me. i was using the show as a depression crutch, so a fate so hopeless ruined me. cant blame the show for my mistake but being so technically bad certainly didnt help.
well when the show came back for its next (and final lol) season, they did attempt closure for eliot and quentin. for some reason this was all contained in 3 episodes, most of it in the third (503) but what the fuck ever. it has its moments.
the episode is basically about eliot and alice (q’s gf i dont think ive mentioned her name. sorry alice) going on a mini quest up a treacherous mountain for grievers to return a piece of quentin’s soul back to the underworld. their fights are soooo funny. toxic lover vs almost-lover.
alice at some point says “well he was MY boyfriend this is MY pilgrimage and you just TAGGED ALONG” and (blood obviously boiling) eliot goes “right, because he meant nothing to me”. and this highlights something so sneakily homophobic about this whole affair. quentin and eliot’s relationship never mattered to the narrative as much as all the other straight relationships, especially quentin and alice’s. like i said, they would separate for entire seasons. you will be happy to know that not 1 episode goes by without quentin and alice conflicting and making up conflicting and etc. i dont understand how quentin and eliot’s relationship wasnt important enough. they were best friends, they kissed multiple times and had sex AT LEAST once if the mosaic subtext isnt considered. and the mosaic… it isnt just that they lived together for 50 yrs and raised a child and were happy, something they couldnt quite grasp in their old lives… they achieved the beauty of all life. that is a monumental achievement that shouldve changed not only their lives, but their stories.
the thing about the confession is that it wasnt planted in s3. talking about 405, the writers said they came up with it while working on that episode. it was essentially a retcon. though its inclusion explains why they didnt talk about it literally, it doesnt excuse the narrative outright ignoring it. it DEFINITELY doesnt account for why it ignored the rest of the SAME SEASON it was ESTABLISHED IN. if this was quentin and alice, they would be talking about it nonstop. and guess the fuck what when they get back together it is *non stop*.
SO. 503. they are on their pilgrimage. tensions build. eliot hallucinates quentin’s voice (it’s a soundbite from the mosaic when eliot dies which is depressing). they meet another traveller who is grieving his long dead boyfriend.
the traveller asks who theyre grieving and alice goes My Boyfriend and eliot looks away and says he knew him as a friend and it’s so sad it makes me want to die. why did they invent new exciting ways for gay people to be ashamed of who they love. i hate this show.
anyway the traveller talks about his boyfriend and how he was a magician who died young and how his dreams were haunted by him. and eliot is listening so intensely you want to jump hale appleman for being so good at this acting thing. alice goes to sleep and leaves the two alone. then they really start talkin:
(the traveller asks) have you ever had love? (eliot smiles small, hesitant) love…? yeah love. (pause) the friend we’re putting to rest. (traveller is delightfully shock) wasnt just a friend.
truly truly truly cant describe to you how much it physically pains me that it took 2 seasons and for one of them to die and a conversation with a stranger to get to this point. why wasnt this always part of the narrative. why does this only matter now after 2 yrs of fans badgering you about why this isnt part of the fucking show despite BEING PART OF THE FUCKING SHOW! it is dead obvious this was never the intent so even with something that should feel right feels wrong because the show never wanted it. it never wanted quentin to be in love with eliot. but it doesnt make sense if he isnt. i hate this show.
the convo continues 🙄:
does she know? oh god no. a torrid secret affair. (eliot looks away) no, nothing like that.
and i wish eliot was given a proper story. i wish i knew what was going on in his head through all of this. i wish i wish.
so it is revealed that quentin and eliot “had love” and that eliot is keeping it a secret (a revelation considering they werent intimate on screen past the 1 yr anniversary, they were only ever referred to as best friends by cast and crew, AND even what they were was obscured in the confession scene. and their feelings didnt matter past 405 fuck this world). this is huge. it should be huge. eliot’s first arc is about how he cant fall in love until he does and gets his heart broken. quentin’s stories are so wrapped up in alice that having another love interest should complicate that entirely. it doesnt.
the climax of the episode is when eliot expresses difficulty of letting go of quentin and alice says “he was your friend” and eliot replies (quick as if not meaning to) “he wasnt just my friend.” and wowww. how cathartic. the first time in the history of the show they talk about it. 5 seasons btw.
and eliot tells her about the mosaic and how “we loved each other for a really really long time.” and how he told him to fuck off and how he died for him and how he was never able to talk to him again. he just died.
and that part is supposed to be cathartic too. it feels cathartic for eliot the character at least. but to me the Viewer. i was sick of how they were trying to appeal to MY thoughts of what he should be feeling. as if trying to placate me. cuz if it was soo important it wouldnt just been solved after this episode. he DGAF about quentin after this. i dont get it. why cant they write a proper story.
well one line that stuck with me and i truly felt was this:
alice: he was pretty in love with you eliot: i wouldnt say that alice: .. i would
and then eliot looks at her the most devastated a man can look.
thats it. that’s quentin and eliot. a heartfelt and final fuck this show. the fic goes crazy esp the 2019 shit.

BEST LONG-TIME PINING SHIPS: ROUND 3 MATCH 3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(The spirk + madohomu art was made by @uss-genderprise!!)
Reasons to vote for each ship underneath the cut!
Ineffable Husbands: They spent several thousand years pining. Hell's most angelic demon and Heaven's most devilish angel. Aziraphale was the angel that guarded Eden and Crowley was the snake, and Crowley fell in love the moment Aziraphale told him that he gave Adam and Eve the flaming sword for protection when they were kicked out. They've stuck together for thousands of years, two immortals in a world populated by short mortal lifespans, the only constants in each others lives. Also they lost the antichrist and spent ten years raising a mundane human child together. The Spirk + Madohomu team:
Madohomu: homura had literally doomed herself into an eternity of trying her damnest to save madoka from her fate. the one thing she wanted the most, enough to wish it to become a magical girl, was to get a chance to save madoka from death. she LOVES this girl so much that she's subjected herself to eternally repeating the same month (months? i forget) over and over that the amount of time that she's been repeating this for has accumulated to over 50 years (i think was confirmed) just for a CHANCE that she can save her from sacrificing herself. AND. AND. WHEN MADOKA FINDS THIS OUT. SHE SACRIFICES HERSELF AND USES HER WISH TO LITERALLY BECOMES *GOD* AND REWRITE THE WORLD SO THAT HOMURA WOULDN'T HAVE TO SUFFER ANYMORE. Spirk: I said they're fanon but they're as close to canon as a fanon ship can be. Spock is half vulcan and is therefore a touch telepath. this makes touching a vulcan, a very intimate gesture. especially their hands, which is considered the equivalent to human kissing. I wish I could send you every picture I have of them touching in some capacity, ESPECIALLY HOLDING/TOUCHING HANDS. its... it's literally insane how much they touch, and flirt in every fuckin episode. and thats just the TV SHOW. I could talk for hours about the movies and books because OH BOY ARE THESE TWO IDIOTS VERY HOMOSEXUAL. the creator of the series invented a new word to describe Kirk and Spock's relationship. "T'hy'la". Friend, Bother, Lover. L O V E R.

Ok but the tragedy that was the Clockers finale.
I know we got a nice ghosts family reunion at the end, but like—
Cleo trading away her skulk sensors for Scars life. The thing she spent nearly 5 episodes collecting, keeping in mind she was only alive for 8. She spent over half of her time alive on that server trying to get those sensors, and yet she willingly trades them away, not for her own life, but for Scars.
A trade that proves pointless in the end. It doesn’t save him.
Cleo, episode 1, telling her boys that she would let them kill her if they were ever the boogyman and they couldn’t find someone else VS Cleo episode 8, 3 hours left to live and STILL telling Bdubs to ask if he needs help, to let her know if he needs a life because even with only 3 hours left to live she is STILL willing to let him kill her for extra time.
A sacrifice she never gets to make because Bdubs is stubborn and reckless, and ultimately ends up dying in a battle that she started.
It’s the way that no matter how hard Cleo tries, it’s never enough. The way that she exhausts every last drop of her own energy into protecting her children - feeding them, clothing them, trying her best to keep them alive, and it’s Still. Never. Enough.
Cleo naming a clock, calling it “Momma’s Favourite Boy” and giving it to Bdubs. Bdubs, who had been made to feel like the inferior son from the start. No matter how often she declared Scar her favourite. No matter what she herself might have personally felt was true. Cleo giving him that clock not even a full 15 minutes before his final death. Bdubs dying with it tucked away in his pocket. One, singular golden clock inscribed with the one thing he had always wanted to hear - proof of his mothers love for him. A heartfelt gesture that comes almost too late to count. The only time she had ever told him, and now he’s gone.
Scars initial jealousy of the Clock. Him bitterly muttering that he thought him and Cleo had something special, and Cleo promising to give him one too when she gets another one. A promise she never gets to keep.
Scar’s reaction to his brothers death. The way the cannon fires and he just stops before silently turning to look at where he had expected Bdubs to be. The way he just silently walks over to where Bdubs had once stood only to find absolutely nothing there. The way Grian is still firing at him, but he doesn’t really seem to notice because he’s still in shock.
And Cleo. Cleo who never even gets to mourn the death of her child. The way she doesn’t even realize at first because her and Bdubs had died at exactly the same time, only she’d had more time than him. She doesn’t even know what’s happened until she’s hears Grian say it. And you can hear that initial shock in her voice for the duration of about 5 seconds, but she never gets to mourn because Grian is still firing at Scar. Scar, who can’t even pick himself up off the floor, who doesn’t even have a weapon in his hand as he just walks back and fourth over the spot where his brother had died as if expecting him to magically appear. The way Cleo casts herself between them, stepping in front of Grian and shielding Scar with her own body.
The way Grian stops firing the instant Cleo steps between them going “Don’t take Scar out of the game.” The way he drops his shield and books it. Cleo doesn’t even take a single swipe at him. She holds her sword up menacingly, creeping towards him, but she knows her primary purpose at this particular moment is in protecting Scar, and Grian knows it too, and yet he takes ONE look at Cleo and books it. He books it because when he looked at her, he didn’t see a mourning mother. He saw a violent and seething rage barely contained beneath the surface and he knows the ONLY thing keeping that rage in check is her love for her children. Her love for her child who he has just murdered, and the only thing preventing her from killing him for it is her love for her last remaining son who is still mourning the death of his brother.
The way Cleo never even gets to mourn him. Physically is not allowed to mourn because she is still a mother. She doesn’t get to be a person, doesn’t get to feel her pain because she’s a mother. Her son needs her, and he comes first. Because a mother is always a mother before anything else. She has to put her kids before herself because that’s what a mother does.
The fact that Cleo is the last Clocker standing. Has to live with the loss of both of her children and live with the knowledge that she wasn’t able to save them. Has to live with the knowledge that despite her best efforts, she was never able to save them. She was never enough. She never gets to give Scar that clock she promised him. The fact that Bdubs’ last words were about her, reassuring his brother, telling him not to worry because he knows Mom will save them. And she tries, but it’s still not enough. She isn’t able to save him, and she has to live with that.
The fact that one of the last things she tells Scar is that they are likely going to die together because they are close to the same time. Them dying on the same battlefield mere feet from each other less than a minute apart, and yet they never see each other. Cleo can hear him struggling in the background but can’t get to him because she’s firing at Pearl. She’s literally JUST stated that she only has 8 minutes left when she sees the lighting that belongs to Scar and runs straight for it, sees Grian, and dive bombs him. The fact that she doesn’t even say a single word. Just goes straight for him. The fact that it’s still not enough. She’s overpowered again and never gets to avenge the death of her children.

Cherry Magic Thailand Exceeded My Wildest Dreams
This series really surpassed all expectations I had for it. I've already yelled a few weeks ago about how this series righted years-long wrongs both with TayNew and with the Japanese adaptation, and encouraged everyone to watch this show. I'm so happy that the finale didn't let me down, ending its run as a near-perfect series!
Tumblr media
The series as a whole did so many things right and only really stumbled slightly on one of the mid-series filler episodes that didn't affect the arc of the main characters or the story overall, so it was forgivable. Everything else in this series is a joy.
Cherry Magic Thailand has perfect character arcs, with relationships that all champion communication all the way through. There's a reason why Kurosawa and Adachi experienced the penultimate episode breakup in the Japanese adaptation but Karan and Achi did not; Karan and Achi worked so hard for this relationship all the way through this series, and that makes them feel so solid that a breakup would not have felt believable or true to them.
Tumblr media
I loved how quickly and fully Karan embraced Achi's magic, and used it to be as embarrassing as possible about his feelings. This worked so well in the Thai version; For a man who is not super worried about homophobia, and is not as worried about being seen as less than perfect (the way the Japanese version's Kurosawa was), but who instead is mostly certain that he's Too Much, finding out that his every thought has been heard by the man he loves and that he fell in love with Karan because of those thoughts must have been the hugest relief. Karan's energy after the confession scene is consistently: I can't believe I'm lucky enough to have this.
Tumblr media
And that's why it's so critical that Achi already has a ring in his pocket in this finale when Karan proposes. There are of course the reasons why this works as an ending to Achi's arc; The story starts in a way that feels like Karan is leagues ahead of Achi; Achi struggles with feelings of inferiority at the beginning of the series, just like he did in the Japanese version.
Tumblr media
I already wrote in a response to @lurkingshan's ep 11 post about how Achi's arc on this was so good, he managed to gain enough self-confidence to build a workplace friend group, move forward in his career, and proactively move forward his relationship. For Achi, proposing is a perfect end to his arc of coming into himself.
But Karan was already self-actualized. If anything, his fear in this relationship has been that Achi would never love him the way Karan loves Achi. Before they ever get together, Karan organizes his day at the office to Achi's schedule, making sure to reduce minor inconveniences and discomforts without ever expecting to be noticed, never mind reciprocated. Karan lies to Achi all the time about how far out of his way he went to do things for Achi (from buying drinks to braving Songkran crowds to bring him medicine). When they first start dating Karan over-plans their first date, and Achi has to remind him that small moments are also good. During the dreaded episode 8 confrontation with their boss, Karan takes the responsibility of their relationship on himself alone. When they were preparing for Achi to be leaving for a month, Achi straight out told Karan he was worried about Karan's ability to handle the separation. He hung out outside Achi's house secretly, and designed a new krathong for them to release at Loy Krathong, but was willing to let go of their Loy Krathong date at the first sign Achi might have to skip it.
Tumblr media
This is the first time Achi really steps up in their relationship, but it's still following Karan's lead--he knew celebrating Loy Krathong was important to Karan, so he prepared a surprise for a different day so that they could still celebrate together. While Achi is on his work secondment, they both prioritize staying in touch, but Karan takes a surprise trip out to see Achi before the month is over. And they have sex, and so Achi can no longer hear Karan's thoughts.
Tumblr media
This means Karan is able to keep secrets from him again, like a proposal. And so Karan buys a ring, retaining what he thinks is his position as the one who does the work to move their relationship forward. But Achi surprises him by asking him to meet his parents as soon as he comes back from his secondment. And then he overhears Achi tell Karan's mother that he is making sure Karan isn't the only one putting effort into their relationship.
Tumblr media
And then Karan is so overwhelmed with happiness that he can't hold back and asks Achi to marry him, and because he's Karan he has the ring already and is carrying it with him. And Achi tells him yes.
Tumblr media
And this is the critical bit: Achi then tells Karan that he was also planning to propose to Karan, and proves it by pulling out his own ring. This is physical evidence that Karan is not alone with the intensity of his feelings; that Achi is doing what he told Karan's mother he would, and is putting effort into their relationship himself outside of steer from Karan; that Karan is allowed to love as hard as he does and he will be met halfway by a partner who is a partner in every sense of the word. When Karan says to Achi "I really love you, you know?" And Achi says "I do", it's not just about Achi knowing the depth of Karan's feelings intellectually, but about him knowing the depth of Karan's feelings by reciprocating them. It's about Karan knowing that Achi won't just coast on Karan's love, but will make sure Karan is being taken care of too.
Tumblr media
[The part that breaks my heart about that is that Achi's kindness is the thing that attracted Karan to him in the first place; but Karan is so used to not being taken care of that he never expected Achi to turn his caretaking skills on Karan, even after they started dating. Quietly devastating, nbd]
Tumblr media
Let's talk about happier parts of this last episode I noticed instead. The parallels in this last episode are so stacked on top of one another that I find it almost overwhelming; We have the two Karan/Achi bench scenes in CMT, from when they become a couple and when they get engaged; there's the proposals between Karan and Achi and between Jinta and Min, and how complete opposites they are (in the contrast between each individually having planned rings and having them on their person even for a mutually unplanned proposal, and how that contrasts to using a pen to draw on an engagement ring because neither of them had prepared at all); there's the use of pens as a proposal tool in Jinta and Min's story and in the Japanese adaptation's Kurosawa and Adachi's story; the perfect reverse parallel between the heat levels of the couples in the Japanese adaptation and the Thai adaptation--I love that Thailand flipped this rather than keeping them both moving faster, it makes the universe feel more balanced somehow--and (as @liyazaki illustrated in her post) that final fake-out parallel that ends the Thai and Japanese versions.
Tumblr media
Love the decision to honour the Japanese adaptation while keeping to the manga on which it's based by giving Pai a story that has a clear aroace read while building the foundation for a start to a relationship with Rock that is believable and one I can root for.
Tumblr media
I can't talk about Jinta, Min, Rock, and Pai without talking about how much I love these ride-or-die friends that Karan and Achi have acquired. The way Pai drops everything to get Achi to the airport; the way Rock kidnaps Karan without knowing why; the way Jinta and Achi talk to one another using their powers; the way Jinta looks at Achi and Karan when they have dinner together. All of these things warm my heart so much. The way Duj is the most intense busybody in the office but it comes from a place of caring.
And I cannot end a post about this show without talking about just how funny it is. Karan's internal scream, Jinta being able to hear the cat's internal voice, Pai's shipping constantly being misinterpreted by Achi and Rock, these jokes landed every time.
Tumblr media
This post got out of hand, again. TL;DR I LOVED THIS SHOW. I loved the humour, the friendships, the relationships, the character arcs, and the scenery. I loved seeing Tay and New absolutely slay on my screen again, I loved seeing another adaptation of this stellar source material, and I loved watching something so well put together week to week. It's been such a good run of shows!

Klaroline Fanfiction Masterlist
Tumblr media
It's been a minute since I last updated my masterlist so I decided to go ahead and start a new one. Yokan // ▪ Multi-chapters
. The Wolf Series [I, II, III and Outtakes - Incomplete] When Caroline wakes up shackled, powerless and very far away from Mystic Falls, she knows she's in serious trouble. But when a woman named Sophie Deveraux reveals the reason why she's been kidnapped and taken to New Orleans, she realizes things are far worse than she could've ever imagined.
[The Originals rewriting where Caroline is a witch and gets pregnant with Klaus' child. Seasons 1, 2 and 3 complete, season 4 coming.]
. Vice and Virtue [6/6 - Complete] As the second son of a Duke, Klaus Mikaelson has the means and all the time in the world to indulge in every manner of wild activity with very little respect for the regiment of polite society. That is until his brother decides he's had enough of his vulgar ways and gives him an ultimatum. Caroline Forbes is a young debutante in search of true love and adventure. Except her aunt wishes for her to marry a somber Viscount who's already buried three wives. When their paths cross, they realize they might yet strike a deal that could satisfy their relatives and benefit them both.
[AH Regency!AU inspired by Bridgerton and a dozen other period novels I have been reading lately.]
. Pedulum [2/2 - Complete] This is what Klaus Mikaelson knows: death isn't the end for him. From the moment he is brought into the world to his final shuddering breath, Klaus' life is pretty much the same as everyone else's. The difference lies in what happens after he dies: he goes right back to the beginning, a child in London with the memory of dozens of lives lived before. Nothing ever really changes, including the fact that no matter how hard he tries, he can never save Caroline Forbes' life for too long.
[AH/soulmates!AU with a slight magical twist. Technically a one-shot, chapter 2 is just an alternate ending.]
. We'll Always Have New Orleans [3/15 - Incomplete] Caroline wakes up in a world where everything looks exactly the same, only nothing really is. For starters, she's no longer a vampire, and no one else in Mystic Falls has ever heard of witches, vampires or werewolves - no one except for Klaus, who woke up just as human and twice as angry about it. Their search for answers and a way out takes them all the way to New Orleans, and Caroline could never anticipate how much this crazy fake world was about to alter her reality forever.
[Canon-divergence!AU. Set right after TVD 4x18.]
. Speed Dating [3/4 - Incomplete] Klaus is having a bad month, so Caroline decides it's a great idea to drag him along to a round of Speed Dating. Other men in the room do not approve.
AH/AU fluff that was inspired by an episode of House (yes, it is fluff, I promise).
. Gasoline [2/2 - Complete] "He doesn't apologize, of course he doesn't. He doesn't care. He calls everyone love. It's not meant to mean anything. Except it did, once, and it makes Caroline's stomach churn away inside, as she feels Klaus crawling underneath her skin like he never left at all. I've still got you."
AH/Band!AU. Two years after Klaus walked out on his band - on her -, Caroline finds herself in her least favorite place on earth - New Orleans. She really did try to stay away from him, escaping an event just to keep off his radar. He finds her anyway.
. Like It's Christmas Again [2/2 - Complete] As Christmas approaches, Caroline Forbes, a New York-based event planner, is sent to a quaint small town in Virginia to organize their holiday festival. But her plans are momentarily hindered by the presence of Klaus Mikaelson, the Mayor's brother and a grumpy billionaire lacking in any holiday spirit, who's in town to close the sale of his family's manor - the charming estate she was hoping to use as a venue.
[AKA that time when I committed Christmas fic. AU/AH inspired by a Hallmark movie, I kid you not.]
. Spin [5/5 - Complete] Since she was seven years old, Caroline Forbes has been preparing herself to become President of the United States. But before she gets to the Oval Office, she needs to win the election for senior student president at the prestigious Saint Sebastian High - which would be in the bag if only goddamn Klaus Mikaelson hadn't decided to run against her.
[AH/AU lovers-to rivals-to-lovers The Politician!AU where everyone takes school elections way more seriously than they should.]
. How Far I'd Go [2/2 - Complete for now] Set in TVD S6/TO S2. Unable to control Caroline after she turns her humanity off, Stefan reaches out to the only person he can think of for help.
[Slices of moments of Klaus in Mystic Falls while Caroline has her humanity off.] ▪ One-shots
. The Sound of Settling Klaus hates his job at Mikaelson & Sons. He hates wearing a suit. He also hates his brothers constantly butting into his life. Everything will be better once he gets his much desired transfer to the New York branch. Caroline Forbes is the owner of Mystic Café, and when Klaus accidentally wanders into her coffee shop, his whole perspective changes. [AH/Coffee Shop!AU where Klaus is a lawyer. Fluffity Fluff. Lots of Mikaelsons and some Carenzo friendship.] . The Witch Queen Caroline always knew she was different. She was keyed into her own otherness very early on. Strange things happened around the Forbes women. Her mother never really had to spell it out to her, give it a name. Caroline could always sort of feel it, and then at some point the feeling blossomed into comprehension, and comprehension hardened into fact. And with that came an altogether different kind of certainty: this was not a secret she'd be able to keep forever. One day, no matter how hard she tried to hide it, everyone would find out. And when they did, they would come for her.
. Worst Things Have Happened Klaus Mikaelson is a prince with a very dark secret that threatens to destroy his family's legacy. Caroline Forbes is a sorceress whose job is to make sure his secret remains buried. But would it hurt him to put some clothes on? [Royal!AU, with a magical twist.] . The Unexpected Grace of Falling Apart The whole incident was bound to go down as a funny anecdote to be shared among friends, a Oh, you think you've had the worst hook-up ever? Hold my beer kind of story. Provided, of course, that she never had to see him ever and could just wipe him out of her life and memory for good. Given that they live in different time zones, it shouldn't be too much of a hassle.
That is precisely why Caroline is livid when she emerges from the arrivals area at Richmond airport to find Douchebag, in the flesh - sunglasses indoors and all, like the proper jerk that he is - holding up a sign that readsClarisse.
[AH/AU. It's Tyler's wedding weekend and Caroline is back in Mystic Falls for the first time after the most traumatic and depressing year of her life. And it's about to get even worse as she's made to share breathing space with Klaus, The Worst Guy Ever. Except they might have to join forces to save the wedding, and to the discovery that things might not be what the seem. As Caroline teeters on the edge of a breakdown she'd been trying very hard to conceal, an unexpected savior appears to help her through the haze.]
. love, the monster's got me now [Canon compliant. Set in TVD S03E09 Homecoming.]
"Don't run," he says calmly, sounding almost bored, but with a clear warning. "I'm in the mood for a chase. Little spoiler: you can't outrun me." His eyebrows twitch up when he finally turns around to face her, lips curling into an amused grin. "Tyler's girl," he states, gesturing towards the now empty yard. "You missed out on the celebrations, I’m afraid."
[Or: the missing Klaroline scene between "There's your pretty little girlfriend, Caroline" and "There's a whole world out there waiting for you." Klaus and Caroline meet after Homecoming.]
. When It's Gone Suddenly, Caroline hates how nice the bed feels. How soft the pillows are. How smooth and cool and expensive those goddamn sheets are against her skin. She hates the giddiness in her belly, like she's a stupid schoolgirl when she's not allowed to be one anymore. She hates how right the space between Klaus' arms felt, how easily she molded against him. His lips were as full and as soft as they looked, but his hands were gentler and more reverent than they had any right to be, and Caroline hates it. Hates it, hates it, hates it. She hates that it suits her, hates that she wants it, hates that none of it is hers to keep.
[Set after TVD S04E19 Pictures of You. Caroline hears about Klaus' impending departure after a mysterious letter and decides to have some words.] . Wishing Each Sigh Might Be the Last The first time she sees him, Caroline thinks he's an angel.
[Set in 1800s New Orleans. As Caroline lies dying, she prays for God to send help or end her torment and save her soul. She thinks an angel has come for her. But he's no angel at all.] . Feel the Madness Closing In Set in TO S3. Caroline is in New Orleans when Lucien and the Ancestors make a move against the Mikaelson family - and they know exactly who to target in order to get to Klaus. Paranoia sets in, sending him to a very dark place, and Caroline finally learns the price of being loved so profoundly by a monster. . Issues When Klaus' Hollywood career takes a down turn after a nasty divorce and a viral mug shot, his manager decides his life is not yet miserable enough, bringing in a PR company famous for its high-profile damage control cases.
[AH!AU where Klaus is a problematic movie star and Caroline is a PR agent with no time for his BS.] . Urban Legend "I hate myself for saying this, but I have to agree with Little Miss Sunshine," Caroline cuts in. "This is Whitmore. Nothing ever happens here. Least of all a possession that leads to a massacre of slasher movie proportions."
"Thank you, love," Klaus returns brightly. "Very flattering to be validated by you."
"Bite me, Klaus."
"Find me later, after my shift, and we can see to it," comes the shameless rejoinder.
[Or: Caroline tries to navigate life in college having the worst roommate ever, a douchebag who cannot take a hint and a nosy journalist whom she's definitely not attracted to. Never in a million years.]

Cherry Magic Episode 5
Tumblr media
Ah yes, the delicious pain of one-sided pining. This was another great episode and yes I would like to wring Achi's neck a little for the mixed signals he is sending our poor beloved and beleaguered Karan.
This episode did such a fantastic job of putting us in the crushing uncertainty of a one-sided love. Karan interprets everything Achi does as either a signal that his affections are returned or a signal that they absolutely are not, and so he swings wildly between elation and devastation minute to minute. And Achi is causing a lot of confusion with the way he seems so happy to be with Karan and know his feelings for him one moment, and then puts up barriers and shies away the next. I would be confused, too, if I were Karan, especially since from his perspective, all he has done is try to get closer to Achi as a friend. He doesn't know Achi can hear his real (simp) desires!
Tumblr media
And Achi did not use the information he has about Karan kindly in this episode. He knew damn well how special it made Karan feel to be part of his morning routine, and he used that against him by bringing in Rock as a buffer, repeating the routine, and undoing that special feeling he had given Karan. It was mean and I’m not happy with him! He knew he was making Karan sad but he just kept doing it. And it's not that Karan thinks Achi likes Rock, it's that he's perceptive enough to know that Achi is intentionally using him to create a barrier between them. That's why he's so sad, it's a clear rejection of the closeness he was trying to build with Achi. Achi needs to get his head together because he can’t keep yanking him around.
Tumblr media
And that's why I love that Karan decides he will not be living with this confusion for a moment longer. He knows his feelings are too far gone to keep holding it in and it's time for some clarity between them. And he had to be the one to do it because Achi would of course keep avoiding the issue, spending time with Karan every day while also pushing him away passive aggressively. Good for you, Karan! I also love that he waited for Achi to get on the boat before he spoke; this will make it easy for him to flee after confessing. My man is a thinker!
In other news this ep, I LOVE THE OFFICE GANG. They're such a sweet group of caring colleagues and that whole sequence with them intervening in Rock and Min's estrangement, especially Pai dropping the hammer, was adorable. I liked that added layer to Rock and Min’s friendship a lot; it was a nice touch of additional pathos for their story and it gave both of them more depth. And of course, the whole group bonding while Karan was left on the outside because of the situation with Achi just made all of his pain feel more poignant. This show is so smart about the way it's building out all these relationships.
I also continue to be impressed with the way the Thai adaptation uses the mind reading for added humor. Karan singing off key in his own head and Achi and Jinta continuing to have telepathic conversations was excellent. Keep the jokes coming, show, I'm loving it.

I have so many feelings about this finale.
So. Many.
I love that it subverted my expectations in the way that rwby so often does. They set up this episode as an intensely personal one. And it was, but not at all like I thought.
I expected a huge Summer lore dump. Instead we got one incredibly illuminating scene that raises a million other questions but more effectively spoke to Ruby and her pain than anything I could imagine.
I expected a long conversation where Ruby basically got therapy from the blacksmith but instead I saw something smaller, simpler: I saw Ruby realize that despite all of her flaws and pain and imperfections, she was enough. I saw her take a deep breath and rise from the lowest point of her life. And while the moment was triumphant, it wasn’t a magical waving away of her problems (though many so-called critics will claim it was). It was just her getting back up. It wasn’t the end of the journey, it was the beginning, and I love it.
So this happened and I had a moment where I felt lost. It was great, it all worked, but it was quick. What was going to happen for the remaining ten or so minutes? Elevator music?
Then I got hit with the lore dump I NEVER expected. I know I wasn’t alone in assuming that the Ever After was just some toy realm. In a way, I was right, but in every way that mattered, I was wrong.
I never expected to learn of the origin of the Brothers.
I never expected to find out that the Ever After is basically the origin point of the Remnant multiverse.
And I never expected that the tree and the blacksmith were the true creator(s) of it all. I had assumed the smith was powerful in her little pocket dimension, but nothing more. Instead it turns out she casually made some gods then (created?) set them off into a wider universe when they grew bored, all so they could learn and grow.
And she knows about those worlds. She knows about Remnant. She knows when RWBY will be needed and intentionally sent them to that point in time and space. She clearly isn’t one to interfere directly, but I think it’s equally clear she isn’t unwilling to sway things.
I also don’t think she approves of what her creations have done, how they’ve comported themselves. She’s such a different image of a god, and now that we’ve seen her the brothers seem so small and petulant.
Where they are big and flashy she is quiet and simple. Where they are brash and demanding, she is patient and helpful. She is everything one could wish a god to be, while they destroyed a planet and left a woman that they made immortal to wander its surface alone for millennia.
Because she hurt their feelings.
And they believe they can stand and judge humanity?
The implications of the new cosmology are fascinating. I feel like we will see the brothers again, and likely even their creator, and it could be glorious.
Then again, this show loves to subvert my expectations, so who knows?
I can’t wait to find out!

Willow Month 2023: Day 1- Favorite Character
Tumblr media
I feel like it's unsurprising for me to say Kit Tanthalos is my favorite character (she has been my pfp basically since the show started) but I'd like to talk about why. Growing up, I knew about Willow the movie but had never seen it for whatever reason. It wasn't until one random day scrolling on IG that I stumbled on an ad for the show, specifically the clip of meeting Willow for the first time.
Seeing Kit stopped me dead in my tracks. I was so immediately fascinated by her. The costume, the attitude, the hair, her... everything. I was as sold as possible and that only grew stronger once I actually watched the show. Scene one, episode one.
Tumblr media
This is the exchange that set the obsession in motion. Here was this girl in a fantasy setting who was cocky and charismatic, something I had been dying for essentially my whole life. It didn't hurt that she looked and acted like every DnD character or fantasy RPG video game character I have ever created. She was a dream come true already, and we were less than 5 minutes into the first episode.
And then, that magical moment happened. As Kit snuck into Jade's room to give her a goodbye kiss, I lost my mind. Something I've typically had to wait entire series to see, if that, and I would have to speculate the whole time, but this put it in the first episode. Kit and Jade were in love, no speculation, no bait, that's what the show was going to have at its core.
For Kit to have a more masculine appearance, to be canonically gay, it was life changing. And I consistently think "How is she such an incredible hunk?" A question I don't get to think about essentially any women in Hollywood. Like, look at her.

Pictured: A bonafide, genuine hunk
But it didn't stop there, because her storyline was incredible too. Starting at that place of arrogance meant she had to be knocked down a peg or two, and that's exactly what happened. I've often said the alternate title for Willow could be "The Humbling of Kit Tanthalos", because she is brought down down down, past rock bottom, and then she has to rebuild herself to become the defender Elora needs and the partner Jade deserves. I truly think Kit has one of the most incredible, heartbreaking, beautiful stories I've ever seen.
But this has gone on long enough (yet I could go on even longer). When I say Kit is my favorite character, I don't just mean from Willow. I mean she is on my Mount Rushmore of all time favorites from anything.
