Come, experience the modern face of Islamic architecture at Masjid Negara, Kuala Lumpur!
A building with a huge blue star-shaped roof- the National Mosque of Malaysia is located opposite to the old Railway station, just outside Chinatown. Masjid Negara is one of the most modern Islamic sites in the world, not just in architechture but also in its welcoming of travelers of all faith. All visitors are welcome outside the prayer-time, to this huge place of worship. 9am-12pm, 3-4pm and 5:30-6:30pm are the ideal time to visit.
Drawing inspiration from the Masjid al-Haram of Mecca, this mosque was built in the 1960ś with its elegant design. The roof acts like an umbrella with a total of eighteen points, denoting the 5 pillars of Islam and the 13 states of Malaysia. The call to prayer that is issued from the tall minaret that towers above a pool and fountain can be heard from a huge distance.
Do not miss the prime feature of the majestic mosque- the gigantic prayer hall under the roof. Another attraction for travelers is the panoramic views from within the mosque itself.

There are travelers who visit India on a tight schedule and some who are long term budget travelers. For both kind,Delhiś Humayun Tomb is the best possible alternative to the ivory mausoleum at Agra.
