Being Bruno’s Child Would Include… Pt. V
Tumblr media
Went back to school getting busy again, but here’s part four. I swear I have a problem all of my headcanons turnout way longer than planned. The reader’s age is 10. Stay tuned for part six.
Parts: 1 2 3 4 5
Tag list: @jayleneblack @zzzzzzzzzzoom @bozowrites @meyocoko @dog-nature-fandoms @thebadasssass @crazykira @lost-lonnie @kenzi-woycehoski @venomsvl @mobuaddiction @raysreads @azzabynes @justagurlintheworld99999999 @queenotaku23 @alexwatchesandreads @silvereyedfreak-2654 @nonvocal-reverie @100b-cats @miyakana @bage-the-gabe (I guess if you want to be tagged ask in the comments?)
I couldn’t tag two users @breadglasses and @4rin4 here’s a link that should explain why.
You sat at the end of the table opposite Abuela. Mira’s side of the family, along with the Guzmáns, sat to your right. Antonio’s side, along with Julieta, to your left. You had the perfect seat to watch the chaos unfold. You always had been more of an observer.
You watched as Dolores began a train of gossip on her side of the table, curious as to what they were whispering about; watched as Luisa left to retrieve the piano, and Mirabel attempted to rush Mariano to propose.
That’s when the pain returned, flaring up in your head. In an instant, you were sent back.
You had been blessed with the gift of retrocognitive empathy. The ability to not only see into the past but gauge the true sentiments and emotions of the moments. You felt the joy of Antonio’s first moment in the sun, the frustration at Pepa’s wedding, the love in Javier's final moments with their partner.
You extended those feelings to the people who would travel with you. Mirabel laughed. Of course she did. She was basking in the witticism radiating off of the moment you had pulled her to. Valdovinos wept. You couldn’t blame her, her memory was ripe with sorrow.
You stood in the open arch entrance of the kitchen. Tía Julieta sat at the table, a small child you recognized as Mirabel, wrapped in her warm embrace. Mira had a look of complete and utter heartbreak. Tears raced down her cheeks and gut wrenching sobs tore at her chest. The rivers on her face flowed freely, spilling off her cheeks on to the white and gold dress she wore.
Beside you a little Luisa materialized, silently watching the scene unfold in the dining room. “Luisa, where’s mom? I need her.” Isabela said, appearing behind her.
“No! We have to be strong for mom, for Mira.” Luisa instructed, puffing up her chest to make herself big. Isa eyed her, then looked past her to Mira and Julieta. She pouted with a huff, then stalked off. Luisa looked over her shoulder at her little sister sobbing in her mother’s arms. “I have to be strong,” she whispered.
This moment had both no feeling and too many. This moment didn’t know how to feel. It was lost.
As Luisa left, you noticed, below her feet, cracks appeared on the tile. You knelt, extending a hand to touch one.
Your headache returned and in an instant, you were back. Luisa, crying, struggling to pull the piano through to the kitchen; Tía Pepa thundering, and Mirabella wrestling to retrieve a glowing green slab from some of Antonio’s coatimundi friends.
The night had not gone perfectly. The revelation that Mirabel was the focus of one of your Pa’s visions, one that warned of family’s destruction, had understandably distressed multiple members of the family.
While Abuela was concerned with hunting down Mirabel, Augustín was focusing on Luisa, and Camilo was calming down his mama. You directed your attention elsewhere.
It was really easy to consider the feelings of those showing visible signs of distress, (especially on days like this one). Those evading the conflict by holing up in their room, their feelings are more likely to be overlooked.
That’s why you found yourself in Isa's room. She has always been one of your favorite cousins. Top three, for sure.
You were the only one who regularly caught Isa’s "imperfections": you know she likes to play in mud, and that she has on point impersonations of almost all the family members, she wants to try cutting her hair short, and doesn’t love Mariano.
"Issy, impresionante prima grande! How are you feeling!?" (awesome big cousin). You called slowly, moving through the grand floral room. You always felt bad stepping on the flowers; Isa spent so much energy perfecting their arrangements.
Isabela, who sat on her bed, lowered from the ceiling. Even from where you stood, you could already tell she had been crying. She sat silently, hunched over with a sense of dejection. Seeing you, she stretched out her arms, “Come here, mi rayito de sol.” (My little sunshine)
Isa hugs are the best. “Please don’t be sad, Issy. Your sadness is worse than Tía Pepa's.” You snuggled against her chest, listening to her concerns and fears. You already knew how she felt about the high standards the family held her to.
“How are you feeling, rayito de sol?” She asked, running her fingers through your hair. Now it was your turn. You sat in her lap, letting her braid and decorate your hair, as you shared your own fears.
You felt bad for the things you were considering. The way you were feeling. “Issy, would losing our magic really be that bad?” You asked. You hid your face in your hands, feeling heat rise in your cheeks.
At that moment, her face fell. It didn’t read as disappointment, instead you read her reaction as one of understanding and sympathy. Her arms squeezed around you a fraction tighter, and you relaxed into her embrace so fully. "I'm sorry you have to marry Mariano…” you whispered. A smile sneaks out of the corner of your mouth. “And have his five babies."
With that tease Isabela kicked you out of her room, in the playful way older sisters do when they get mildly annoyed (you and Isa have a relationship comparable only to Nani and Lilo’s).
You turned to head to your own room, but found Antonio’s twin coatimundi standing in your path. “Oh, um, hello,” you waved. They had a glint in their eyes that made you… uneasy.
All the animals had only been invited to stay the previous night. Still, you knew the coatimundis could be trouble. They pickpocketed your tío Augustín, stole from Julieta’s treats and created trouble at dinner.
One jumped, perching itself on your arm, pulling at your sleeve. The other scurried behind you and attempted to nudge you forward.
“Tonito,” you called, walking across the planks to his tree house. “Tonito, your gift is amazing, truly, but I think you need to talk to the coatimundis about boundaries.” You continued, approaching your young cousin. You gently took one of the mundis, now perched on your shoulder, off and handed them to your cousin.
“They like you,” Antonio informed. You chuckle, smiling with your mouth closed, reaching up and scratching the chin of the mundi settled on your head. “There’s somebody they want you to meet.”
The coatimundis scurried from your head and Antonio’s arms off and up to the second level of the treehouse. Antonio gestured with his lips for you to follow. You tried to suppress your giggling, as you followed them up the tree, but ended up bursting into loud laughter.
As you reached the top of the stairs, sand, like a downpour of rain, piled on to the top of your head. “Why is there sand in a treehouse?” you squealed. Like a dog, you shook the sand, as much as you could, from your body. One of the coatimundis bounded back over to you, and with their little paws, attempted to help you wipe the sand from your eyes.
As your vision, fuzzy from sand, settled back into focus, you were able to make out the bright teal and vibrant embroideries of Miabel’s skirt.
“I’m sorry, Bruno’s vision suggests you’re gonna break the house.” Still wiping grains from your eyes, you moved to your cousin oblivious to what had taken place moments ago. “The future isn’t set in stone. Well, my Pa’s visions are glass soooo. Doesn’t matter. Glass or stone can be broken.” The coatimundis jumped and roosted on your shoulders. “Make your own future,” you smiled up at her, wrapping your arms around her waist. “Broken house or not, I’ll still love you. Tu mi familia, Mira.”
“Y/n.” The foreign voice startled you. You turned. There stood a man you expected never to see. Bruno, your pa. “You’re so big.”
You stared at the man across from you. You couldn’t help but try to hide behind Mirabel. At that moment, you felt like you were that small five-year-old again; standing at the front of the aisle, all eyes on you. Everything you wanted and feared out in front of you.
You had never moved so fast in your life. After saying a quick awkward goodbye to the two, you rushed past Bruno and out of Antonio’s room. You rushed to the kitchen and began rummaging through the cabinets.
Unbeknownst to you, the doors flickered upstairs.
At that same moment, stress once again flared up in your head. In an instant, you were pushed back again, only this time you remained in your place in the kitchen.
A screaming group of children ran into the kitchen from the patio. Mud coated their little bodies like icing on a cake. Flowers and grass tufts were the toppings on their earthy coating. The peace you had known mere seconds ago had been shattered by their running and childish screams of delight. All the Madrigal kids of the time Dolores, Luisa, Camilo, Mirabel, and even Isa paraded around the room tracking mud across the floor without a care.
“What is going on!?” Abuela’s voice sounded through the room, bringing the children to a stand still. You felt yourself go rigid at her stern tone. You noticed Isa across the room straightening her posture, placing her hands neatly behind her back.
“Abuela! Lores and Isa taught us ta make mud pies,” Camilo explained. Both he and Mira missed the clear look of displeasure on the adults' faces. Seeing her grandson’s wide toothy smile as he held up a mud pie in one hand and held onto Mira’s hand with the other, Abuela's face softened.
“That’s nice Camilo. Why don’t you, and Mira, and Luisa, and Dolores go get cleaned up for lunch?” She gently instructed. The four kids allowed their parents to lead them away, just as Isabela moved to join them Abuela stopped her.
To the best of her ability, Abuela knelt, placing her hands on her young granddaughter’s shoulders. “Isabela, you are the oldest child. It is up to you to set a good example for others and for the community.”
Now standing behind Abuela, you could see the slight widening of Isa’s eyes. She blinked back a frown, instead flashing a half-smile. One you recognized as false. “I understand Abuela, for the family. For Encanto.”
Abuela extended a hand, cupping it around Isa’s cheek. “Isabela Madrigal, an angel. Our perfect angel,” she stated.
The initial energy and excitement you’d absorbed at the beginning of the moment had vanished, leaving the occasion to feel hollow, empty, lost.
As Abuela spoke, cracks formed on the floor, beneath Isabela’s feet. The same as Luisa, they didn’t even notice. You don’t have time to investigate the fractures further, as the headache returns and you're brought back to the present.
The house shook. Hopefully not a reaction to what you’d just been through. Looking at what you held in your hand, you remembered what had led you to the kitchen in the first place.
You hurried back upstairs to Antonio’s room. “Tonito, where’s Mira and my… where'd they go?” You asked.
“They left.”
“Oh.” Your shoulders sunk. Your eyes fell to the plate in your hands, stacked as high as possible with food. The coatimundi came to your aid, hugging and nuzzling at your legs. “I thought he looked hungry,” you mumbled.
You left the plate with Antonio’s animals and went to sulk at the hall railing. Suddenly, vibrant plants of various colors burst forth from the ground, decorating practically every inch of the halls, ceiling, and walls included.
Isa and Mira fell past you onto a pile of flowers that erupted on the floor of level below. Their peels of laughter echo in the open room. It was nice to see them getting along.
Abuela walks in, not sparing a moment to make her displeasure and anger known. Unfavourably, at the same time, a sharp pain pierced your head. You let out a cry of pain, keeling over, and pressing your hands to the side of your head. Moments flooded, flickering in and out of your vision. It was as if your brain couldn’t decide which moment it wanted to occupy, and thus was trying to occupy multiple moments at once.
Camilo lamenting the fact that they’d been asked to be someone else for a friend’s party instead of themselves and being told, “it’s a Madrigal’s responsibility to meet the requests of the community; Crack. Pepa being told not to cry because she’d ruin the celebration, even though she’d just had her heart broken for the first time; Crack. Julieta attempting a new skill, and somebody remarking, “you should stay in the kitchen, you’re actually needed there”; Crack. Dolores over hearing that her gift is a curse, if only it was as helpful as Isabela’s; Crack. You crying in the nursery, in Mira’s arms. “Bruno is dead to us,” Abuela stated coldly. “We don’t talk about Bruno.”; Crack. “I wish I was dead.”; Crack.
The pain, the visions, it was too much. You felt the past fracturing as it tried to catch up. Then total numbness, your body went limp, as your head went silent.
You were too busy falling in on yourself to notice the casa collapsing around you. You were paralyzed by the onslaught of emotions that had all too suddenly been silenced. You couldn’t acknowledge Camilo rushing to move you from the path of falling rubble. You were helpless as he took in his arms and slid with you in his lap down a slide created by Casita.
For once, in the present, you felt like a ghost. Much like the past, you were powerless to change the moment you were now living in. You could feel the burning sensation as you gulped down a sharp lump of air. You felt hollow, lost; and it broke you.
You bit at your lower lip as your eyes welled up with tears. Your face turned red, and you felt wet, hot tears start to stream down your face. Body trembling in response to your onslaught of tears and choked up sob, you fell into the fetal position. You pulled your knees to your chest and buried your face down.
You didn’t care who saw you, your walls had been smashed, ground to a fine powder. You were a child, ten-years-old, vulnerable against the tidal wave that is trauma and grief.
Like the most perfect flower, like the rock of the family, and so many others you cracked under the pain.

the grand encanto headcanons post
warning: this is stupidly long
Luisa and Camilo are literally besties. It was mostly because they bonded over being the middle children on their sides of the familia, but also they have many shared interests, such as being theatre kids (Camilo made everyone a theatre kid somewhat but completely transformed Luisa into one) and working very well with children.
(An addition to the headcanon above this) The first person Camilo came out to as genderfluid and gay was Luisa, and when Camilo told her, she came out to them as a pansexual 💪😻
Dolores hates when anything touches her face and especially her ears. One time a tia on Félix’s side of the family took her to a fair that came to town and Dolores cried when she had to go get face paint. Luckily Félix was there to save her. (i’m not projecting myself onto characters i like /s)
Dolores and Pepa have habits that kind of mimic each other. Like, when they’re really tired they chew/suck on their thumbs, or when they’re really happy they flap their hands around (cough cough autism headcanon cough cough)
Isa is a sucker for grape agate. She loves that damn crystal.
Luisa likes to pluralize words that don’t necessarily need to be pluralized. (this is ACTUALLY projecting myself onto kins)
Mirabel does this half up half down hair bun and it’s so pretty.
Some boys in the town would ask Mira out as a joke and she would just throw her shoe at them.
(Continuation of the last one) One time a boy genuinely asked her out (in front of her whole familia) and she just threw her shoe at him and went back inside. Everyone was very shocked and apologised to the boy a lot.
Luisa loves to play piano. She takes this trait after her father and they could play piano together for hours. She also enjoys playing piano for Camilo’s performances.
Félix, Agustín, and Bruno have always been somewhat friends since childhood.
(be prepared y'all this one’s angsty </3) Luisa wanted to take a break she really did, but old habits die hard right? The townspeople just waited until the Madrigals fixed their home and got their gifts back before they asked for them to work again. The others took breaks in between, especially Julietta who got Agustín to help her, but Luisa? She just kept working and working. She couldn’t stop.
If you shake Bruno his eyes glow up like a glow stick. The same goes if you snap him in half 🥰 /j
Mirabel absolutely loves bees, too bad they attack her father lmao-
Antonio has basically a zoo of animals right? But there’s one animal he can never get ahold of. Rats. Because Tío Bruno took them all. That darn old man.
Isabela absolutely adores science. She loves finding out about how rainbows form, or how intrusive species ruin environments.
Bruno loves glitter gel pens. That’s the headcanon.
Luisa has never swore in all her 19 years of living. The day she swears is the day the world ends.
Antonio has double jointed fingers because I have double jointed fingers and it’s cools.
Whenever someone gets sick and can’t go to school, Camilo has to fill in for them. He failed in a grade 4 class.
Mirabel is absolutely terrible with punctuation in her writing. She always forgets commas and everyone gets scared by what she wrote. (me too miraboo, i just use autocorrect online 😔✋)
Isa and Mariano are very good friends. They talk about girl troubles (AKA Mariano being worried about Dolores and Isa crying about how in love she is with a painter's daughter)
Bruno is absolutely terrified of swimming. Some bullies left him in a river once and he never went near one since. He got over his fear when he had to cross a river to save Antonio from some concerningly sharp rocks.
Pepa will always go to her family’s performances, whether it be a band show or just a small play. Pepa will always be there for you. (aww <3)
Luisa can’t skip rocks for the life of her. She’s tried and tried again but she can never do it. Once Camilo shifted into her and skipped rocks as a joke but Luisa cried instead of laughed.
Dolores is really flexible for some reason. Neither her mama or papa are as flexible as she is, so they don’t know where she got it.
Mirabel plays lead accordion in the school band yall 💪🗣
All the cousins have an afternoon out where they just have fun every couple weeks. It always goes wrong, but hey at least they’re spending time together!
Luisa has a special life hack to make people laugh a little. She goes to their level, no matter how tall or small, and boops them on the nose.
When she gets sick, Pepa makes it snow. She made it snow in the middle of July and no one in the town could do anything except be pissed at poor Pepa </3 (this headcanon does not cross over into my fanfics tho)
Mirabel loves pickles, Luisa absolutely despises them, and Isa uses them as weapons.
Félix likes to go to places with lots of paintings just to take face swap selfies with them. (modern au ofc)
Agustín won a medal for tap dancing once. It was cool but once he won he fell off stage and broke his leg.
T4T Pepa and Félix.
Alma used to yell at Bruno to clean his room and he just looked at all the sand and cried. Alma never repeated those words to him ever again in fear of him giving her a terrible prophecy.
Isa will never say it, but she thinks she would look cute with short hair. I agree 👍
Agustín often leaves the house forgetting to put shoes on. Me too.
Antonio loves orchestra music for some reason, like whenever he’s stressed he’ll put on some orchestra and just cry or something.
Pepa is terrible at cooking meals. Once, Julietta went out of town for like 2 days and the only thing keeping the familia alive was Agustín and what he learned from his wife. (before the whole casita collapse and Bruno reveal because Bruno is probably a really good cook)
Julietta always makes a special vegetarian meal for Antonio when it’s time to eat. He really appreciates it and always hugs her a bunch and thanks her. Same goes for Agustín so he can follow the Kosher diet because he’s jewish 💪 (the second part does not play into fanfics as well)
If Encanto was in modern times, Camilo would be an absolute sucker for Tyler, The Creator.
Adding onto the previous one, Luisa would be either a gleek, belieber, or directioner. Mira would also love the MCU.

Okay I've recovered from Omicron: Revenge of the Covid so I'm going to sort Encanto because I am OBSESSED with this super Badger movie. I've watched it several times and I get chills and I cry and I love it.
Before I actually sort anyone, I want to point out the similarities between the Badger authority figures in this film and in the Harry Potter series. Bruno disappeared and the magic might be dying? We absolutely do NOT talk about it. No one is allowed to talk about it. WE DON'T TALK ABOUT BRUNO. Just like how they try to hide Voldemort's return in HP.
Oh and because this movie is so focused on the family and there are sooo many characters that not all of them get focused on, for some of them I'm only going to sort the secondaries. Because almost everyone in the movie seems like a Badger primary and it's hard to figure out if it's real or a model.
Mirabel: Double Badger. Her main problems in the movie are that she is trying to save the family and that she feels excluded by the family. She still has to live in the nursery, people don't take her seriously, and she doesn't feel like she's a real Madrigal even though that's what she bases her identity on. For her secondary, she is a pretty loud Badger. She even mirrors her sisters' dancing in some of the songs. She's always trying to support the others and when she realizes there's a problem, she goes to various family members for answers. And the house is treated like a person and she relies on it for help A LOT.
"I've been patient and steadfast and steady."
Abuela: Authoritarian Double Badger. I mean, yeah. She sings about helping the community through hard work and dedication. She keeps everyone in line. She doesn't view Mirabel as not a person, but she kind of scapegoats her and views her as less than. Her pain and fear led her to explode and become an authoritarian figure.
"We swear to always help those around us/And earn the miracle that somehow found us/The town keeps growing, the world keeps turning/But work and dedication will keep the miracle burning/And each new generation must keep the miracle burning."
Luisa: Badger Lion. Her gift is super strength and she literally kicks a house back into place. Mirabel pesters her for two minutes and she completely spills her guts in song form about how she's worried about the family. I think she's exploded in a different direction from Abuela and just sees herself as a tool to help the family.
"I'm pretty sure I'm worthless if I can't be of service."
Isabela: Bird Lion? Isa is tricky because she's putting on an act for 90% of the film. She acts like a Badger, doing all these things she doesn't want for the good of the family, but then she does this sudden heel turn in "What Else Can I Do?" after making the cactus. You can almost hear her brain making the GPS "recalculating" noise. Which makes me think Bird primary. For secondary, I'm leaning toward Lion. When she's not putting on her act, she's confrontational and yells at Mirabel and hits people in the face with plants. And she just dives right into making all these new things and goes nuts with it.
"I make perfect, practiced poses/So much hides behind my smile/What could I do if I just grew what I was feelin' in the moment?"
"I'm so sick of pretty, I want something true."
Dolores: Lion secondary. I'm not sure about her primary because this Absolute Queen didn't get enough screentime. She can't keep a secret for more than 5 seconds and is brutally honest. "Mirabel didn't get one." Once the way is clear, she jumps right into confessing to Mariano.
"Okay, I'll take it from here, goodbye!"
Camilo: Snake Secondary. He's a shape-shifter and uses it to play tricks on people, get seconds, and entertain everyone.
Antonio: Badger secondary. His animal friends help him out. He goes to Mirabel for support when he's afraid at the beginning.
Pepa: Burned Lion Secondary with Badger Model. She wears her emotions on her sleeve because of her weather gift. But that's disruptive so she's always trying to squash her feelings down. She also worries a lot about making everything perfect and following the rules, which makes me think Badger model. But like Luisa, she needs only a few minutes of pestering before letting loose in song form.
"We don’t talk about Bruno, no, no, no/We don’t talk about Bruno, BUT--"
Julieta: Badger secondary. She heals people with her food. This is the epitome of Badger.
Bruno: Badger Bird? He only left the family because he felt his presence was doing more harm than good. He kicked himself out of his own community but still stayed in the house with his sad painted place setting, trying to fix the cracks. I'm not sure about the secondary but I'm leaning towards Bird because of the prophecies and his weird personas. But that's very tentative.
"And I wanted you to know/That your bro loves you so."
Bonus: Abuelo: Lion secondary. We see him leading the people away from their village and then turning to face the men on horseback, sacrificing himself.
This part makes me sob:
Lay down your load (Lay down your load)
We are only down the road (We are only down the road)
We have no gifts, but we are many
And we'll do anything for you

•|| No miracle can save you
Chapter one.
Summary: One normal and happy day in the Encanto, everything was going smoothly until an injured man appeared in the calm streets of Encanto. He seemed badly hurt so the townspeople wanted to help them. Surely nothing can go wrong about this, correct?
Pairings: Mariano x Dolores, gn Reader x Bruno Madrigal
Warnings⚠️: MAJOR character death, blood, escaping, swearing and suggestive themes.
It was a beautiful day today.
It was a beautiful sunny day in the happy streets of Encanto.
Pepa must have been extremely happy that one day.
You were Julieta and Pepa’s best friend. Oh, and Bruno’s s/o, too. You remember, five years ago after the miracle was restored. It had been quite the news, may I say, that the Madrigals’ gifts had disappeared. A lot had happened during that week.
A horrible dispute between Abuela Alma and her Granddaughter, little Mirabel had ocurred, causing the whole Casita to crumble down. What no one was expecting (Aside from the mentioned above), Bruno had returned. But who’s Bruno? Bruno Madrigal, the man who messed your future up, the man that by just capturing a glimpse of his eyes and making him speak, your future would be full of horrible things.
Or at least, that’s what everyone said when asked about Bruno.
You had volunteered to help rebuild Casita alongside the rest of the Encanto. You had a good relationship with the Madrigals. You ran a small but very loved bakery. Something you liked doing was delivering baked goods to the Madrigals as a way to thank them for their constant help.
You were known around the Encanto as a kind being. Not to the extreme of being known as an “Angel”, but you were a respected civilian. To put it simple, the townspeople respected and liked you. You knew how to manage yourself and when to stand up for someone and yourself. You knew when to stop being kind and you knew how to act when the situation requires it.
Your first encounter with Bruno went better than what you had expected.
You were helping the man with painting one of the walls of Casita. Even though both of you were quite nervous to talk to each other at first, you because you were in front of the victim of the townspeople’s horrible gossip and Bruno because he was afraid about what you thought about him. Luckily for the both of you, you managed to engange in a friendly conversation about everyday stuff. You became from acquaintances to friends, friends to awkward crushes, awkward crushes to courting each other and finally ended up being a happy couple for four years.
Back to present day, you were currently delivering some cupcakes and freshly baked cookies and cakes for a nice tea party with Isabela. Tomorrow was her birthday, and it wasn’t a secret to anyone that she loved you most out of her Tio and Tia. You were the first person she would go to when she was having a problem, wanted help with decorating something full of plants or just wanted to spend time with you. Your objective was to organize a nice tea party with her sisters, Antonio and Dolores, maybe if Isa wanted Pepa, Alma and Julieta could come to. The only reason Camilo wasn’t invited was because of a little fight they had had over two days ago Isa was still petty over, and she had yet to ask Bruno, something you would do later.
You encountered Mirabel while on your trip to the Casita, stopping a while to give her a hug.
— Oh, ¡Mi angelita Mirabel! ¿How’s everything going, mi querida Mirabel?
— ¡Jaja, Buenos Días Tía Y/N/N! Everything’s going fine, I was just on my way to deliver Señora Olivia a newly sewed dress she commissioned me with. Apparently she’s having an important date with some guy around town.
Mirabel decided to gossip about Señora Olivia’s love life, but you kindly rejected. You hated gossip.
— Jaja, Gracias Mirabel, but save it for another day, this basket is quite heavy, ¡This baked goods won’t carry themse-
— LA PUTA MADRE, ¡¡¡ALGUIEN AYÚDEME!!!
Upon hearing the vulgar scream, a scream filled with despair and agony, you quickly turned your head to see what the hell was the cause of the call for help.
Oh well, you weren’t expecting this.
You surely weren’t expecting to see a man filled with bruised.
He had multiple cuts in his face, some were almost visible while others were dripping with blood. His nose was visibly broken and he had a purple eye. His clothing was almost ripped to shreds and deep cuts could be seen where skin was visible. Blood and cuts decorated his entire body, his chest was probably filled with the red liquid. He was wearing a white shirt with rolled up sleeves, and oh dear, he had multiple stab wounds and cuts so long you couldn’t see the end.
The townspeople let out screams and gasps of surprise, and while some were petrified, others were running to the poor guy and helped each other to lift him up while he twisted and turned, screaming in agony.
Mirabel looked at you not knowing what to do, and you, although still impacted with the sudden appearance, you handed her the basket filled with Cakes and much more and you ran up to the townspeople to guide them to Casita.
— ¡Todos, escuchen! Let’s take the man right to Julieta. Mirabel, be a dear and go tell your mother to bring some food, we’ll be there soon. ¡Rápido!
Mirabel nodded and ran to the Casita to search for her mom.
You were guiding the others to the Casita, trying to pacify the man, although it was impossible.
Then, something weird ocurred.
— AGH! LEAVE ME ALONE! IT IS MOVING INSIDE OF ME! I CAN FEEL IT CRAWLING THROUGH ME! TAKE ME BACK! YOU’LL ALL REGRET THIS!
Alongside his words, weird tentacles started to sprout out of his wounds.
Not many had seen the tentacles due to their concentration in taking the man to safety whilst ignoring his wishes, and the ones who noticed the.. “Things”, same as you, let out gasps of surprise and even screams.
Still, you had hope he could be saved.
— ¡SHUT YOUR MOUTH AND SAVE ENERGY! ¡You’ll be alright!
•••
Finally, you had arrived to La Casa Madrigal. The man, who had been screaming and twisting had passed out, which meant that Julieta must do her job quickly.
Los Madrigals got out of Casita immediately after hearing the news from Mirabel. Pepa was covering Antonio’s eyes while keeping him close to her, as well as Camilo and Dolores who was hugging Mariano, scared.
The three sisters, Isabela, Luisa and Mirabel were all behind their father, hugging each other afraid of the commotion.
Bruno had immediately ran up to you, hugging you tight and taking you away from all the commotion. Julieta appeared with a bowl full of Buñuelos and she had taken one, until,
Well.
Something horrible ocurred.
Bigger tentacles started to sprout out of the man’s cuts, wrapping his arms and legs, and even trapping some villagers while the others started running away in pure fear.
Pepa quickly turned to Dolores, afraid that the screaming might be hurting her bad, but when she checked on her,
She wasn’t covering her ears.
The weather wasn’t changing either, even though Pepa was covered in fear.
Isabela quickly put her hand in front of her, trying to make some vines that could trap the monster..
That didn’t work out.
— Oh dear..
Pepa just hugged her youngest son tighter, petrified.
— ¡EVERYBODY, RUN!
Félix shouted, grabbing his oldest son’s hands and his wife’s, starting to run away from La Casa Madrigal. Dolores alongside Mariano followed them, although not before helping her Poot abuela Alma alongside Mirabel, Luisa and Agustin. You grabbed Bruno’s hand to start fleeing from the scene, Julieta joining you too.
Then, you all heard a growl.
One so loud you had to cover your ears, leaving everyone stunned.
And the villagers crumbled to the ground.
The closest villagers who didn’t escape, they crumbled to the ground. They screamed. Twisted and turned. Fainted..
And came back alive.
But with a desire.
One of them, a woman with a long beautiful skirt and a white blouse, her skin once beautiful and cared of was now almost grey, her eyes injected with blood. She slowly walked to a man, too petrified to even move a muscle.
She fucking bit his neck.
She tore all skin apart.
She killed him.
She was eating him.
The people who had been on the ground just a minute ago, were now lifting themselves up, a desire to eat human flesh invading all their senses.
— Oh shit OH SHIT OH SHIT-
Spoke Bruno, starting to run, pulling you alongside him.
When Pepa turned her back to run, Antonio was able to see the scene.
Traumatized, scared and not knowing what the fuck was happening, he let out a scream.
One scream that attracted a zombie.
Julieta, the one who was behind everyone, got her arm pulled.
— ¡MAMÁ!
Yelled Mirabel, leaving Abuela Alma for her mother, but was stopped by Mariano grabbing her arm with strength.
— ¡Mirabel, we need to go! ¡AHORA!
He tried reasoning with her, but she just wouldn’t have it. She tried wiggling out of Mariano’s grasp, but it was just impossible.
— ¡AGUSTÍN! ¡MY CHILDREN! ¡Please, leave! ¡I’ll be fine! ¡I’ll catch up!
Agustín, starting to cry, starting moving forward, Mariano doing the same while pulling his wife and Mirabel.
— ¡Mamá!..
Mirabel started crying, Isabela and Luisa doing the same.
They needed to get away.
Julieta, stay strong.
That was all you could think of while the woman fought of unknown creatures.
Let this be a nightmare. Please.
Aaand that’s chapter one! Don’t worry, this is not the end of Julieta’s story!
