Have to agree on that. Especially the part about "if people think your character is cute, don't you think you've failed?". I immediatelly had to think about the ask you answered in wich you've explained exactly that. I personally am interested in the game because, yes, I think Bendy is cute. And now that I'm in it I want to know what happened and I want to know more about all the characters. That's the reason why I like the game and no one can tell me that I like the game the wrong way :'))

It’s another example of Solar Sands not being a very good critic and not knowing what he’s talking about. Sometimes an appealing character in horror can be to your benefit, it can make you feel like YOU would get sucked in by them and that can lead to bigger scares. Bendy and come off as cute as well as a little creepy, maybe even by being a little too cute, as well as the fact that he’s a little devil which implies something sinister. But for example, in the movie Scream, when they had Casey get her phone call, they wanted to caller to sound a bit creepy to set the mood, but also to sound intriguing and handsome to make it believable that she’d stay on the phone with him despite not knowing him. Same concept. There honestly is no wrong way to enjoy it though. If you like it because you like the atmosphere, that’s right. If you like it because you like old cartoons, that’s right. If you like it because you like puzzles, that’s right. If you like it because you like the main character.. hell even that’s right. Do you know how many horror movies have 5+ movies in their franchise, even after some -real- stinkers, just because people love the villain? I can think of at least four off the top of my head (Freddy, Jason, Mike Meyers, Chucky), and to be honest, I wouldn’t be surprised if horror movies shifted from being able the good guy trying to survive to the bad guy killing people just because of how much people liked the villains. Bendy being likable or cute is not an objective problem, it’s a subjective one. Hell there are things that have problems with them objectively, even MANY, but that doesn’t mean it’s bad to like them. The Room SUCKS but it’s great because it sucks. And even if the little cardboard cutout Bendy is cute it again, isn’t the Bendy that attacks us and we run from, as well as the fact that it his cute little face (which let’s be real, also makes it look like he could all of a sudden explode in a violent rage) has drawn many people into the game and made it a success. TheMeatly is finding success by doing something that’s pretty original. Solar Sands is finding it by ripping off something IHE did years ago and trying to make an entire channel out of it. The most ironic part is Solar Sands says he gets angry at stupid arguments, but I’ve literally never seen him make an argument against anything wasn’t stupid or something someone had already said before him. And not just something someone said before him, but the most basic bare bones complaints with no originality. I feel somewhat bad for shitting on him, but only because I do know I have people who have faved me or watched me (can’t remember which) on deviantart that are in charge of his fan group or a part of (like more than one person who is), for my Bendy art even. I don’t think they’re here since I’m trying to keep anonymous (I don’t want people to gain popularity on my art just by speaking up about all this sort of stuff in the fandom. I feel it would cheapen me speaking up, if that makes sense) but I still wonder, and don’t know if that anon was a fan. And I’m not saying you can’t be a fan of his, I’m a Vinesauce fan, and as Vinny as said ‘The Motto here is Enjoy Trash’ that’s just my opinion on him, and Bendy or no Bendy I have strong negative feelings about him. But if you ask me on anything I’ll always try to be neutral, even if it’s a person I don’t like who did some thing... He’s just a person I don’t like who had some very flawed critiques. (That person possibly being a fan is another reason I stopped where I did, I don’t wanna ruffle anyone too much. It’s not like he said the game was shit in the part of the video I saw, just average.)
