update on what's happening in Iran:
Based on the news you have heard that they 'abolished' the mortality police.
but today when I woke up and checked the new, 2 of the famous actresses who took their hijab off yesterday, Elnaz Shakerdoost and Shaghaiegh Dehghan have been summoned by the police.
an amusement park was closed permanently (for now) cause one of the female workers wasn't wearing hijab.
they are lying. they just abolished the mortality police to calm the protests, they don't care about women now as they didn't care all these damn 43 years.
DON'T STOP TALKING ABOUT IRAN. OUR ONLY PROBLEM IS NOT THE FORCED HIJAB; THE ISLAMIC REPUBLIC NEEDS TO GO.

People on here spreading propaganda that the Iranian government is good...stop.
You are hurting Iranians, Jews, Muslims, Arabs, and more.
The Iranian government does not give a fuck about Palestine. All they are interested in is spreading their power and influence across the Middle East. They even hurled missiles at Al-Aqsa Mosque, which potentially could have destroyed or damaged it if the Iron Dome didn't exist. The only seriously injured victim in Israel was a 7 year old Muslim Bedouin girl. Many Arab countries understand how dangerous the Iranian government is and intercepted some of their missiles.
Iranians have been screaming at the top of their lungs that they don't want war and they are tortured and murdered by their government, but your desire to view the Middle East as a sports match makes you want to root for anyone who is against Israel. The Iranian government literally hosted a Holocaust denial convention in 2006 which included David Duke, one of the former leaders of the KKK. They are not against the Israeli government for the right reasons, but for antisemitic ones. The growing antisemitism in Iran due to their rule drove out thousands of Iranian Jews, many whose only option was to move to Israel.
Please do research before spewing ignorant bullshit that harms everyone. There is no shame in admitting you were misinformed. Peoples' lives are worth more than your bruised ego.

Some tankie bs detection
I saw this post on my dash. The user is blocked now. But just to educate people so that they won't fall for idiotic claims online, here are a couple of facts:
1. The Islamic Republic is not anti imperialist, they're anti USA. The regime is very much in love with Russian imperialism. At this point, Iran is an unofficial russian colony. And by the support of their imperialist father figure they have their small version of imperialism in middle east. Ask Iraq and Lebanon.
2. There's no "safety" when it comes to economy in Iran. The "national sovereignty" is called "those fvckin thieves in power" here. Iran's regime is one of the most corrupt regimes by international index. Rent, nepotism, embezzlement and money laundering are serious issues in Iran. Done only and only by the governors and people in power. Social class is not only a thing, there's a raging gap between rich people and those in poverty. And the gap is getting bigger and bigger by month. If you have connections in government or you are in the government, you'll get richer and richer. Other wise, soon enough you'll be in poverty too. Many families, including mine, who used to be considered middle class, have incomes lower than the poverty threshold now.
About 15% of Iran's economic failure including inflation is on the sanctions. The rest is on the corruption within the regime.
Iran's banking system is also a corrupted organ. The so called Islamic banking is anything but Islamic. The loan interest rate is one of the highest worldwide, 23%, so that often you have to pay back more than twice the money you've received. It's called Riba in Islam and it's Haram. According to the regime themselves, the banking system in European countries, even in the USA, is more Islamic than us. The fact that some of the biggest embezzlement in Iran has been done by bank managers should give you a picture of how they're drinking our blood.
None of this is on USA imperialism. It's all the Islamic Republic.
3. The Islamic Republic doesn't support Palestinians. The regime is extremely racist and anti Arab. I dare you talk about this with an actual Arab. IR don't give two shites about Palestinians lives. The regime is antisemitic. That's what they are. Palestine is just an excuse to attack Israel. In the past 20+ years of my life, living in Iran and dealing with these posers, not once we've been educated about Palestine and Palestinians lives. Everything I know, I've learned from online resources and documentaries make by Palestinians. The regime doesn't talk about Palestinians when they pose as supporters. I'm pretty sure they don't know or care to know anything noteworthy about Palestine, considering my knowledge of the human rights violations there is always more than basiji people of my country, and I don't even know that much. All the regime talks about is how Israel should be eliminated. IR supports a terrorist organization called Hamas, not Palestinians.
4. Let's forget about everything I said so far. I wonder if tankies like the op has any ounce of humanity in them! The regime has been oppressing women, violating every type of human rights and murdering lgbtq people and other-thinkers for the last 40 years. The spectacular environmental disaster in Iran is the direct result of regime's policies and neglect. This is a case of human rights violation since it's ruining people's lives, especially ethnic minorities, like Arab farmers in south.
No religious minority is safe in Iran, be it atheist, Baha'i, Jew, christian, or Sunni Muslim. They commit crime against children, through labor and through war. IRGC have little regards for human lives in general but it descent into no regards at all for ethnic minorities.
They have MASS EXECUTED 30,000 leftists (members of Marxist Communist parties and their supporters) within the first decade of their autocratic rule. It's unbelievably funny to me when foreign leftists support a regime that has executed many of their fellow thinkers and still arrest and torture any left activist in Iran.
To say the reason the 1979 revolution happened was to get rid of western influence and to establish a democratic free independent government is true. But the Islamic Republic is not that result. Don't be fooled.

I know mine isn't a political blog but I can’t stay silent in front of what's happening in Iran.
I saw videos of many people cutting their hair in protest, women burning their hijabs and, what I took more pride in seeing, Iranian people intonating the Italian song "Bella Ciao" as a sign of protest.
Bella Ciao is the most famous resistance song of my country, it was born during WWII and it was sung by Italian partisans against the fascist dictatorship.
I hate it when I see remixes of this song, people dancing on it on TikTok for some stupid trends but THIS, this is important. This is the purpose of this song. RESISTANCE.
Bella Ciao is for everybody who is fighting around the world.

Are you looking for a way to support the people protesting in Iran?
Zhina Amini (Reported as Mahsa Amini, her birth name) a Kurdish woman was killed earlier this month by the morality police in Iran for wearing a headscarf in what they deemed to be an improper manner. Protests have since broken out across the country and a number of other Iranians have been killed since.
The internet has been shut down in many places and deaths are incredible common. The last time the Iranian government shut down the internet like this, over a thousand people died.
So what can you do?
Share Iranian people’s words and news about what is going on.
Recognize that this is not about Islam but about a tyrannical government (so don’t use this as an excuse to be Islamophobic). These people need our support, not our commentary.
Help support Iranians gain access to proxies through apps like the Tor Project’s Project Snowflake. This will pair you, who is likely in a safer country (I say as someone in the US who assumes much of following is in North America or Europe), with an Iranian person trying to access the internet as long as you are online. This is a really simple step you can take to help Iranians connect to the outside world so they can use their voices and let loved ones know they are alive.

Interview with Nele, Nika Shakarami’s girlfriend by Zeit Magazine
‘‘Nika loved the moon, and it became an important symbol in their relationship, says Nele. When they missed each other, they would say: "We don’t live in the same country, but beneath the same sky." Sometimes, Nika would tell Nele over the phone that she was looking at the moon, saying: You should go outside too, Nele, so we can look at it together. They even called each other "my moonie." Or Niki and Neli. Or Haku and Chihiro, like the main characters in the anime film "Spirited Away," which both of them loved. The story involves a courageous boy helping a shy girl escape a world full of monsters. "That was us," Nele says today‘‘
Nika Shakarami was a 16 year old brave Iranian girl who was kidnapped by the police during the ongoing protests in Iran, brutally tortured, raped and murdered in cold blood. Her burial was on her birthday. Say her name, Nika Shakarami

My god, the way some people actually managed to make iran's problems about themselves is outstanding.
I'm sorry that women in the west face harassment for hijab. But this has nothing to do with iran, our issues are actually going viral and they just..discuss a different topic? Many women were beaten, killed, jailed for not wanting to wear something that was forced on them 40 years ago and so many people including children were murdered for fighting against it and you just bring up women's struggles in first world countries?! I'm not saying that we shouldn't talk about them, every single issue deserves to be acknowledged; but we should NOT compare these two things at all, they're completely different

Hello guys. I hope you've known that based on the flag on my bio I'm an Iranian person. You probably know what's been happening; the government been restricting our access to the internet to silence our voices but THIS TIME WE WILL NOT BE SILENT.
Mahsa Amini was a 22 yearold woman who was murdered by the 'mortality police' for not having appropriate hijab.
the government denies the fact that she was murdered BUT DON'T LISTEN TO THE GOVERNMENT. LISTEN TO IRANIAN PEOPLE.
Our country is being ruled by terrorists such as Khamenei who's our 'leader' and Raeesi who's the president. THEY'RE BOTH TERRORISTS.
please be the voice of Iranian people.our only problem is not the forced hijab and dress code, there's a lot more than that.
WE DON'T WANT THIS GOVERNMENT AT ALL!!

"Women in Iran are taking off their headscarves and cutting their hair to protest the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini.
Amini died in a Tehran hospital on Friday after being arrested by Iran's Islamic morality police on Tuesday on suspicion of not correctly wearing a hijab — a head covering traditionally worn by Muslim women and is mandatory in Iran — according to reports.
Tehran police said Amini was arrested for the purpose of "justification and education" about the hijab, and told her family she died of a "sudden" heart attack. Her family say she had no known heart conditions, and witnesses said they saw police beating her up inside a van, according to BBC News.
On September 18, the day of Amini's funeral, protests erupted in Iran, with women removing their headscarves and waving them in the air to protest the hijab-wearing rules that led to the arrest of the 22-year-old."
