it's not intersexist to acknowledge that intersexness can result from a health condition or be related to one. intersex is an umbrella term for a variety of experiences, including ones involving disability, and it's okay and important to admit that. we don't gain anything by throwing intersex people who experience complications from their variation/related condition under the bus.
but even beyond that, we don't have to separate ourselves from disability in order to prove we deserve human rights. our variations being linked to chronic illness wouldn't mean that all the medical abuse towards us is founded. disabled and intersex people all have a right to bodily autonomy and proper healthcare that needs to be upheld.
even if our sex nonconformity were somehow universally an illness, intersex and disabled people have a right to exist. just as much as abled and dyadic people do. there is no "proving" that we have human rights - that is something we all inherently have.

“Intersex people know all too well what it feels like to be non-consensually placed in a box based on societal assumptions and expectations,” Brown-King adds. “It’s time to get rid of the boxes!”
Happy Intersex Awareness Day!

Usually, I would’ve done some kind of selfie yesterday on Trans Day of Visibility, or even back in the winter on Intersex Awareness Day, but I’ve been too busy photographing the cats. These shots I took just now didn’t turn out quite the way I wanted, but they’ll do 💙

It's intersex awareness day!
For many of intersex people, it feels like we spend a lot of our time in survival mode. Intersexism, trauma, and medical abuse can really impact our ability to access financial stability.
any intersex people, feel free to reblog and add your payment links to this post.
Dyadic/endosex people, if you're able to, help out some intersex people this IAD!

How did I almost miss intersex day!? I'm not a biologist, I'm probably not intersex, but here's some facts before the day's end!!
This is something I learned this year that I find extremely fascinating and interesting! I hope you like it💕💖
Chromo types:
X Turner syndrome
XX Female (Male = Chapelle syndrome)
XXX Triple X syndrome
XXY Klinefelter Syndrome
XXYY Syndrome
XYY Jacobs Syndrome
XY Male (Female = Swyer syndrome)
Mosaicism: From one genetic egg, But has a patchwork of different cells.
Chimera: Absorbed their twin in the womb, Leading to a patchwork of cells.
Phenotypes: At least 25 Genes play a role in sex differentiation. In each of these, Compose you to slide through the sex spectrum.
complete androgen insensitivity syndrome (CAIS) – where testosterone has no effect on sex development, so the genitals are entirely female. partial androgen insensitivity syndrome (PAIS) – where testosterone has some effect on sex development, so the genitals are often not as expected for boys or girls..
Congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) affects a child's normal growth and development. Although it can be life-threatening, most people with it can lead normal lives with proper treatment.

Zim: Greetings filthy humans. It is I, Zim! Here to bring awareness to your feeble human brains on this, the day of Intersex Awareness. For those of you who are unaware, intersex people, such as myself, are individuals whose physical characteristics do not fit typical binary notions of what you would define as "male" or "female" bodies. This is perfectly normal and in no way an indication of one's extra-terrestrial origin.
Dib: He's actually telling the truth, for once. Of all the physical differences that should make it EXTREMELY OBVIOUS to anyone with functioning eyeballs that Zim is an alien, being intersex isn't one of them. Lots of humans are intersex. Almost 2% of the global population, in fact. That's as common as having red hair.
Zim: The Dib-beast is correct. Having intersex traits is perfectly ordinary, and not something that needs to be corrected in order to conform to a false binary system of identification. Zim's magnificent body is perfect the way it is and that's why I'm proud to fill your filthy heads with my amazing wisdom. Happy Intersex Awareness Day!

I’d love to stop talking about this topic, but sadly people don’t know how to respect intersex people. Here are some comments I have received when I mention being intersex, even just mentioning it slightly. Some comments bellow the cut are sexual, just for a warning.

I ran out of room for photos so I’ll write some
"What k1nks are you into? I mean with both parts you have to b k1nky"
"Can you still have kids tho?" "Oh so you’re not a real woman" (I’m transfem & enby, oh and I’m infertile. It’s one of my biggest insecurities)
"It’s an abnormality and shouldn’t be normalised stop talking about it"
"How do you have sex?"
"Do men really want you like that?"
"Ok but I’d never do someone if they had that.."
"What’s in your pants tho?"
"So you’re deformed?"
"Okay but how does it look, you know.. down there?"
"If you mention it online why can’t I ask about what’s in ur pants tho"
"I’d kill myself if I had to live life like that, I want kids" as if I don’t? I’d die for the ability to have kids.
"That doesn’t exist"
STOP asking or saying weird things to us.

Someone commented that the hoop gave a bit of a petri dish vibe. Thought that was a good point so I left the hoop unpainted. Fiddled a bit more with it and then I took some better pics. Not 100% happy with how the text turned out, but I do love the neuron. Credit for the text goes to @mxmorggo.

its always "what about intersex kids!! theyre mutilated too but nobody talks about them!" untill they actually have to talk about intersex people and respect the labels they use instead of just using them as a point against transphobes and then forgetting they exist

Happy Intersex Awareness Day!!
i made the symbol (that is usually a circle) a heart because you guys are lovely and i added the patterns because you guys are cool :D
sorry this is a simple design, it was on very short notice. like here i was shitposting about femboys and my non existent boyfriend and it’s intersex awareness day? i need to add it to my calendar so i have a warning next time!
fr tho to any intersex people reading this i love you <3
but on a more serious note:
i know someone’s probably thought of this before, but isn’t it funny how TERFS talk about “genital mutilation on children” (even though trans people who get gender affirming surgeries are full grown adults) and then don’t give a fuck about surgeries preformed on intersex babies, without their consent, that genuinely harm them?
wait it’s not funny it’s fucking sad.

Intersex day of awareness
I am a victim of intersex gen¡tal mutil@tion just like so many others around the world. I had surgery I didn't need as a baby without my consent and I now have lifelong issues and trauma because of it. We need to put an end to these surgeries that are often not needed. Most places are more worried about banning consented surgeries for trans people than banning things that actually should be banned. Please listen to our voices and stories, we deserve to have our bodies left alone.
*please do not share this on other platforms without my permission*
if you'd like to show support I do sell pins/stickers also custom art, money goes to help pay for healing needs/therapy/top surgery etc
