There's a tweet that's gone viral where a person laments realizing that Star Wars "ripped off" Dune, and how learning all the elements Star Wars took from its inspiration tainted it. And I think it shows how poisonous the emphasis on originality in art can be. Because yes, it's wonderful when art makes something new, but it's also wonderful seeing how art plays on what came before, and the conversations it has with its predecessors.
There's going to be a lot of people talking about how much of an impact Goku from Dragon Ball Z has made on fiction in the wake of Akira Toriyama's recent passing, and all the characters who were inspired by him and his story. But Goku himself is derivative - he's inspired by the Monkey King from Journey to the West, one of the first novels ever written. He's far from the first character inspired by the Monkey King, either, and also far from the last.
None of this makes Goku's impact any less than it is. None of this decreases how Goku's story has inspired countless imitators. Just as Toriyama created a new icon from imitating what he loved about Journey to the West, so did Toriyama inspire countless artists to make their own iconic works with his take on the Monkey King's archetype. Goku is, in many ways, the heir to a legacy that spans back to the 16th century, and likely beyond - because I doubt the original Monkey King was formed in a vacuum.
We're taught to think that originality and imitation are opposites that cannot coexist, but they're not mutually exclusive. One can follow in another's footsteps and still take a new journey with its own unique twists and turns. The great works of art are not spawned in the absence of inspiration - they are in conversation with what came before and what will come after.

If there's one take-away I want to make clear about ruining your career by pettily review-bombing other writers, it's that traditional publishing is not a competition you can win. You have no control over how well your sales do versus someone else's sales. No amount self-promotion, hard work, and social media is going to guarantee a viral tweet, a Booktok sensation, or rave reviews. Those are beyond your control.
In this, your fellow authors are not your rivals, but your peers. If you are not super rich or well-connected, you will be reliant on connections you have to communities that know and trust you, and this is far more important than anything you do on your own. The publishing world is quite small, and these relationships will be a boon in building your future opportunities as well as helping other writers. The industry, in fact, relies on selling books with similar themes at the same time, because they know readers who like one Greek-inspired fantasy will likely pick up another one. That's how publishing trends work!
Publishing is never going to be free from drama or interpersonal-driven conflict. Review-bombing is going to continue, driven by political or ideological agendas. But treating what should be a professional career as some sort of winner-takes-all Squid Game is going to blow up in your face the moment you're caught out, and it will ruin your career before it even begins.

Twitter posts lost a lot of their power for me a couple months ago when that post that was like "never let your friends help you move" went viral
I looked up the Twitter OP and found that they were some kind of incomprehensible, buzzword-infested "How To Win Capitalism" influencer who had their own company selling notebooks with inspirational quotes and decks of cards with questions to fix your relationship. What's the word. A "self-made entrepreneur."
Supposedly they had started their own business and gotten rich off of it, and You Too can get rich by buying Product and paying a little extra to have empty self-care slogans printed on the Product, and reselling for a profit.
Their previous tweets had barely got any attention at all, just one or two retweets or likes mostly, so it became immediately apparent to me that the rageful tweet was simply a calculated move to draw attention to themselves. It was competently done: post something overtly rude-sounding with very little context, invite angry replies, a day later post context (making your friends help you move will give them back injuries!) that make the angry replies seem like overreacting, thus inviting well-meaning idiots to defend you from the gnashing twitter horde.
The tendency of Twitter to explode the platform of someone that posts something dumb and slather them in vitriol is fertile ground for building unearned affinity with people. It's simple: purposefully post something dumb to bait the haters into uncalled-for cruelty, and then clarify the situation in a way that shows you are just a poor widdle misunderstood poster getting targeted by legions of haters.
People will defend you out of sympathy for your unfortunate situation, and not even notice that you're a necrotised Capitalism Cordyceps, an ad wearing a human as a costume.

PICK A CARD 🪞ೕ how would your fans describe you if you were famous
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
in today’s pac we will be answering the following questions regarding your life as a famous person:
- why are you famous?
- what kind of fans would you have?
- how would your fans describe you?
reminder that this is a general reading and messages found here may not apply to everyone. take what resonates, leave what doesn't, and don't force anything if it does not fit.
BOOK A READING WITH ME · LINKTREE · SUGGEST A PAC TOPIC · TIPS ♡ tips and feedback are highly appreciated!
GROUP ONE
cards · high priestess, judgement (reversed), knight of cups, seven of pentacles, nine of wands, four of pentacles, ten of cups, high priestess.
songs · deserve by lucky daye. levanter by stray kids. slide by øzi. amnesia by kai. amazing by mary j blige.
my dear group one ♡ you are famous for the character or characters that you create - characters in a video game in particular. you may be credited with creating a character that fans of a franchise quickly latch onto or are especially horny over.
i specificy “horny over” because pyramid head and lady dimitrescu are the two characters that come to mind and i think that most of us are aware of how the fans react to the two of them.
your fans will honestly adore and admire you. you may be far less known than your creation, and so the group of people who interact directly with you may be smaller and more devout than the people who just interact with your creation. the hardcore fans who interact directly with you online will send you art, headcanons, and questions in the hopes that you will acknowledge them - or because you often interact with your fans in that way so they know there is a high chance that you will acknowledge them. your community of fans will be a creative and artistic one. this will be a more practical form of creative and artistic expression, with your fans going out of their way to create cosplay that is as close to the source as possible.
many of your fans will describe you as the person who inspired them again - inspired them to create again, to get into a hobby or get into a hobby again, to go after a goal again. some may start posting their art or may apply to art institutions/for art related jobs, crediting you as their biggest influence behind this decision. your fans will cling onto you and describe you as someone that “must be protected at all cost” - especially whenever your tweets or posts go viral or your friendly interactions with fans start to get a lot of attention.
they may also describe you as someone who must be wise with their money, because you seem to live a good and well paid for life despite only putting out a small amount of work. they may also realise that you put out a small amount of work because you get paid a good salary for it - especially after this other character or game gained so much attention and renown - and because your main focus is family above all else. even if you do not post or talk about your family often (likely to protect yours and their anonymity as much as possible) your fans will often describe you as a “family man/woman first, game dev second” - or as someone they wish was their parent or close friend or family member.
Tumblr media
GROUP TWO
cards · ten of pentacles, four of pentacles, seven of pentacles (reversed), ten of cups (reversed), three of cups (reversed), death, ten of cups, nine of pentacles (reversed), ten of swords.
songs · better by ama lou. unsteady by x ambassadors. video games by lana del rey. dear dream by nct dream.
my dear group two ♡ you are more famous for being famous, than for any of your talents. though this, too, is a skill all of its own. you may be famous because of someone you know or date, or because someone shares their platform with you and subsequently rockets you to fame (think, a popular tiktoker collaborating with you, a popular youtuber mentioning you in one of their videos, a popular twitter account retweeting you).
you may experience an emma chamberlain turn of events where you transcend from internet fame into real life fame - similarly, too, where people will look at you and wonder, “how is this person famous again?”. you may garner more fame for being an influencer and sharing your personal life stories publicly.
honestly, dear, it is quite upsetting to see the kind of fans you would have if you were famous. your fans may have a strong parasocial relationship with you, especially because of the way you became famous and because of your strong online presence. many of them will get a kick out of rooting for an underdog, and so, they may start to turn on you when you start to become more succesful and more well-known. one particular scenario may be common amongst your fans, where a tweet of them calling you mid, boring, mediocre (or anything to that regard) goes viral, only for people to reply and quote with this you’s of this person praising you months prior. you won’t even have done anything wrong, they’ll just start to feel bitter, jealous, and entitled. many of them will just start to randomly hate you. once you notice this shift, you’ll stop caring what other people say about you. you’ll continue being your authentic self and will start to consciously appeal to a different demographic of people.
your fans will describe you as someone who was able to make a name for yourself despite how oversaturated the influencer market is. they will describe you as someone who rose above and became real world succesful not just internet succesful, despite it all. there will definitely be a split between fans who genuinely support you and “fans” who will find every reason to hate on you. some may say things like “you don’t understand them” or “you’re just jealous and looking for reasons to hate them” - especially when people mask hatred of you behind criticism of meaningless things.
what’s coming to mind is the incident with madison beer that happened a few months ago, where people were “calling out” madison beer for dancing in a bikini on tiktok. people, of course, rightfully came to her defense and rightfully presupposed that the people who were saying negative things about her were likely jealous and insecure. similar things will happen to you. you’re attractive, talented, and lucky - your fans will describe you as such and rub it in the face’s of people who dislike you just for the sake of disliking you.
your fans will also describe you as someone who gets hated on unnecessarily. they would use that “i came into the house and everybody was like, oh, pretty girl, lets hate on her” meme a lot.
Tumblr media
GROUP THREE
cards · six of cups, ten of cups, nine of cups, nine of pentacles, ace of swords, death (reversed), the devil, knight of wands, the world.
songs · cry by chester lockhart. poetic justice by kendrick lamar. coming home - interlude by kali uchis. fulton street i by la dispute.
my dear group three ♡ you are famous for doing something you enjoy or for doing something you have wanted to do since you were a child - and while that is incredibly broad, this is most true with regard to a field that has a high focus on restoration, the body, and physical performance. some of you are famous for being a part of a sport that asks you to push your body to the extremes - such as ballet or bodybuilding. while others of you are famous for your work as a coach (life coach or online fitness coach, just as two examples) or for using your platform to influence people to live a healthier, more active life. a lot of your fame comes from your ability to make yourself or your content stand out, especially in such saturated markets.
even if you are not the best, you are creative, refreshing, and relatable and know how to not only draw positive attention but keep it on you.
your fans are people who feel as if they are at the end of the road. they may have tried everything to feel better about themselves and happy in their lives, to little or no avail. that is, until they chance upon you. your story touches them, the way you carry yourself welcomes them, and the way you live your own life motivates them.
a lot of your fans may have bought countless self-help books before, tried countless diets or exercise plans, paid for countless talks, subscribed to countless accounts and channels, but could not fix anything that they see as needing to be fixed. again, until they come across you. in a way, you help your fans break their own toxic cycles.
your fans would describe you as someone with somewhat of a “no nonsense attitude”. you are honest about your own challenges and failings, and are always open to share the most difficult things you have experienced in life - however, you are also adamant in the fact that you have never let these things keep you down or stop you from achieving whatever you set your mind to achieving. something which is evident to your fans, even just from watching you from afar. your fans will say that this motivates them to work harder, to not give up on their goals, and to go after the life they want to lead. because if you can do it, why can’t they? if you kept persisting and saw your persistence pay off, why can’t it happen for them too? especially if you are a coach or offering one-on-one sessions, your fans will appreciate that you never ask them for more than you are also willing to give or you never expect them to do something that you yourself wouldn’t do or have not in the past down.
there’s an air of transparency here that your fans appreciate. they would recommend you to other people based on this. saying things like, “it’s not always easy, but it’s worth it,” and telling others that you are someone who can be trusted. i feel as if many of your fans will be grateful, above all else describing you as someone who helped them get their life back.
Tumblr media
GROUP FOUR
cards · the tower, the magician, the world, knight of pentacles, ten of pentacles, ace of swords, six of cups, the tower, six of swords (reversed).
songs · tokyo drift by teriyaki boyz. advice by taemin. just look up by ariana grande & kid cudi. take me to church by hozier.
my dear group four ♡ you may be famous on an incredibly small scale - more of a niche celebrity with a cult following than a household name or anything similar. you may dabble in music, acting, writing, and social media and stay somewhat unknown for a long period of time. this level of fame may suit you most, too, because you have both your real life responsibilities and your artistic hobbies - both which give you a stable enough income and allow you to live your life to the fullest. you may just be a private person by nature, keeping a lot of your art for yourself and your loved ones.
however, greater fame may come to you suddenly and unexpectedly, with something you put out there or participate in suddenly blowing up and garnering a lot of attention. it may even be something you shared or were a part of a long time ago - such as a movie or song that suddenly becomes popular on tiktok.
your fanbase will start off as a chill, laidback one. they are a small to moderately sized group for the majority of your fame and, thus, quickly become familiar with you as well as with fellow fans. they may be people who gave up on their own artistic pursuits for the traditional 9-5 and family, and find solace in your own continued pursuit of art for art’s sake.
i feel like you would attract a lot of people older than you, around middle-aged. regardless of age, your fans would use your music (or whatever art you put out, though it may mostly be music) as a means to relax and unwind. they would also respect you a great deal and make sure to send you direct financial support even though you likely may never ask.
your fans will describe you as an old soul, and as someone who is humble and down to earth. this may be why you attract a lot of older fans, because the way that you approach art and evoke emotion is of someone far beyond your years. they may share your art with people close to them, such as with their families, and so you may have a reach far beyond your knowledge -  i’m thinking of a pair of young friends hanging out when your song comes on shuffle, one asks the other who it is and the replies, “oh, this is someone my dad likes”.
your fans describe your art more than they describe you, which is something that you may also like. because your art is your art and should exist outside and apart from you as a person. when you become unexpectedly popular, your fans will be proud of you and happy for you (especially because many of them are living vicariously through you and have wanted this to happen for you for years), but will also wonder if you can handle all the pressure that comes with this kind of fame. when talking about you with others, they may say you feel like the kind of person who would just disappear once you became too famous. if they see other people interacting with your art, they may talk about how they knew you before you were so famous - reminiscing about the days when your fanbase was smaller and more intimate.

It must be difficult for you lot to come to terms with the fact that you are simply a bizarre subset of obsessed fans. No matter how much you scream in your little echo chamber, it will not stop Daenerys from being loved and adored. It will not stop her from being the face of the show.
I know it stings when you see viral tweet after viral tweet of her most iconic scenes. It's probably upsetting for you to know that they created Fabergé eggs resembling her dragon eggs and sold them for $2.2 million. Pieces that were inspired by her sell for thousands of dollars. Just this year, a jewellery brand made affordable versions of Daenerys jewellery.
It must be hard for you to accept that, despite millions witnessing her burn peasants, she is still widely loved. Only Reddit incels and people who should have been left behind keep you company in the extreme Daenerys hate club.
I know it upsets you when you find out that individuals who possess reading and comprehension skills beyond a 10th-grade level adore Daenerys. I know it keeps you up at night. It must hurt that, even after the finale, her name is the one that House of the Dragon uses to market their show.
I can see that you're struggling to hide your resentment when you think about how much critical acclaim Daenerys has earned for GRRM. Knowing that both fans and critics nominated the two novellas that focus on Dany must be a bitter pill to swallow. I am sure it disturbs you that the Stark show was such a failure that HBO shelved it after investing $30 million.
No matter how many times you say that Daenerys should be raped and killed as punishment, it will never change Sansa's chances of becoming queen. Regardless of how many times you call her “villain-coded” or praise her much-reviled heel turn, her relevance will never fade.
Irrespective of how many times you edit the text to support your baseless theories, celebrities will continue to reference her, fans will continue to create murals of her and shows will still be made about her family. Brands will continue to create luxury items based on her story and image. The actual text remains unchanged. Her impact remains undeniable, no matter how much you disregard or downplay her importance. That has got to hurt.

The request is this: Maybe a Yone x fangirl!reader?
Buuut, but but!! That their first face-to-face meeting was a surprise, I explain, she and Yone had met on Discord and had been interacting a little, when the two agreed to meet then she gets a BIG surprise, I hope I make myself understood
Sorry for the amount of text, I have expanded here
Anyway, I hope you take care of yourself and enjoy the new content that is coming out as much as I do
-🍄
Omg hi 🍄 anon!! ♡ Thank you so so much for your very inspirational Yone musings, I hope that me spacing out on the wordlbuilding a bit will not influence the pure fangirling that is going on in our heads!
In this universe Yone strikes me as someone who actually knows a lot about technology and i'm sorry... he produces music for rythm games. And yes he does those extremely complicated and highly detailed songs that are like the hardest charts in the game.
Tumblr media
·:¨༺ ♱✮♱ ༻¨:·- Yone's career as a producer and DJ has not been the easiest one, the genres that fascinated him the most were usually not appreciated by a wider audience. The busy notes of electronic samples overlapping one another weren't designed to appaise the need for easy listening music in convenience stores or to climb the charts by becoming viral on social media, in fact the most recognition Yone's music had gotten before heartsteel was in the small niche of rythm game players.
·:¨༺ ♱✮♱ ༻¨:·- It was never the big game developers that contacted him, they had collaborations with world renouned producers and famous idols that voiced their characters. On the other hand smaller studios would often ask him to make one or two tracks for their games, which Yone would gladly accept to do. Despite the limited reach the producer was still proud of his work, always buying a copy of the games where his music appeared and keeping in touch with the communities that formed around them with a discord account that would't reveal who he really was.
·:¨༺ ♱✮♱ ༻¨:·- You were just a casual player of one of those games, sometimes coming into its dedicated discord servers to chat with like minded people. When people asked you about your favorite songs in the game you would most likely reply with one of the songs Yone produced, often going into detail about what made them resonate with you so much and what made them so unique in your opinion.
·:¨༺ ♱✮♱ ༻¨:·- Under the guise of anonymity Yone would sometimes join the conversation, asking questions and indirectly getting some feedback from you, even finding it helpful with his writer's block sometimes. It was enough for the man to send you a DM to discuss more of your shared music tastes, hoping you'd reply.
·:¨༺ ♱✮♱ ༻¨:·- Your discussions quickly settled into a developing friendship, you knew the man had an extensive knowledge in music theory as he would sometimes ramble about it with you and he also told you that because of a new job offer he would become more and more busy as time went on. You'd still keep recommending songs to each other but the conversations would be less and less, you missed your friend but you knew that his work was more important than chatting about music.
·:¨༺ ♱✮♱ ༻¨:·- That was until Heartsteel's debut was announced with a small teaser, showing all the members and a small snippet of their new single. You immediately recognized the familiar electronic sound of the songs that made you and Yone bond in the first place, the nostalgic feeling making you smile. You decided to send a link of the teaser to him, asking for thoughts and sharing the hype about the new band.
·:¨༺ ♱✮♱ ༻¨:·- Yone had never felt so guilty yet glad that he never revealed that he had produced those rythm game songs to you. You were so familiar with his style that you spotted it immediately, you could've uncovered that he was actually part of the band! He tried to stop himself from asking more of what you thought of the members, thought of him, but quickly surrendered to the fact that hearing you gush about how much you liked his music gave him even more reasons to keep going.
·:¨༺ ♱✮♱ ༻¨:·- When he asked who your favorite member was he almost spit water on his midi keyboard, causing Aphelios to turn around to see if he was alright. Yone composed himelf quickly, yet the message you wrote kept resonating in his mind. "Oh I'm totally in love with Yone, looking at him and his interactions on twitter he sounds like a bit of a band mom and I find it really endearing! He looks like a really calm person who surrounds himself with a ton of unhinged friends! Too bad he hasn't revealed his voice yet! "
·:¨༺ ♱✮♱ ༻¨:·- Of course all of this didn't go past Aphelios, Kayn, Sett, K'Sante and even Alune. They realized he was spending more time than normal on his phone, reading your thoughts on the new promotional materials that were being posted. Kayn was the one who confronted him first and could not stop laughing when he realized Yone had started to develop some feelings for you, scrolling trough the messages the younger man could also see that you were starting to feel the same way for him.
·:¨༺ ♱✮♱ ༻¨:·- As much as the Kayn was amused at the absurdity of Yone falling for his online friend turned fangirl, he alsoknew he had to help his fellow bandmate, barging into the common room to tell everyone what was going on and fill Ezreal in as he was oblivous to the whole ordeal. It took all of them a good half hour to concoct a plan to make a meeting between you and Yone happen, then another half hour was needed to convince the producer that this was indeed a good idea and that you would not take it as badly as he imagined.
·:¨༺ ♱✮♱ ༻¨:·- When Yone said he wanted to voice chat with you out of the blue you were a bit confused but excited. You were happy to hear his voice after one year of being friends and made sure to reserve a few hours just for him, as you went about your day your mind started to wander a bit about what it would sound like and if your conversations would flow just as smoothly as they did via text.
·:¨༺ ♱✮♱ ༻¨:·- You were starting to feel a bit nervous when you picked up the call, timidly muttering a "hello?" and waiting for any sort of reply. "Oh Hello, it's nice to finally be able to associate a voice to the person." You could not help but squeal a little on the inside, who would have known that his voice sounded so rich and felt so mature? The two of you talked for a while about how long overdue your call was and how time had flown since you first met, it truly didn't feel like your first conversation at all.
·:¨༺ ♱✮♱ ༻¨:·- You finally gave into the curiosity and asked him if there was any particular reason for Yone to have wanted to voice chat now and his reply almost left you speechless. "So... I'm know that you're very excited about the debut of Heartsteel, one of my coworkers managed to get two VIP tickets and backstage access. The thing is that the person they bought the other ticket for cancelled last minute and they gave it to me." A carefully crafted lie exited Yone's lips, all to give you an excuse to go meet him.
·:¨༺ ♱✮♱ ༻¨:·- You couldn't help but feel a slight pang of jealousy for how lucky your friend was but you wanted to be supportive and expressed your joy for him and how excited he must have been. "Wait, you've got it all wrong. I wasn't planning on keeping the ticket." You froze for a second, all sorts of possibilities racing trough your mind. Then you heard it the notification of a discord message from Yone, he had just sent you the ticket. "Wait... so you want me to go?" You heard him chuckle as you were slowly realizing what this would imply, your heart couldn't race more than this. "You deserve to go and see them, you've kept an eye on them for a long time now. I don't want to impose it onto you so think about it for a while and let me know, will you?" Useless to say that you spent a very long amount of time asking him if he was sure about it and then thanking him profusely, this truly was one of your dreams come true.
·:¨༺ ♱✮♱ ༻¨:·- During the day of the debut concert the Heartsteel's members grand plan was put into motion: security was well aware that as soon as your ticket number was checked in they would have been able to identify you. Security notified their manager Alune and gave her a detailed description of your looks, she too felt happy about what was going on in Yone's life and told him and the other boys to concentrate on the performance while she took care of things in the background and made sure to give you and the producer ample time to talk.
·:¨༺ ♱✮♱ ༻¨:·- You had the time of your life at the concert, seeing how much energy and stage presence Heartsteel had in real life made their music video pale in comparison. The stage felt electric and once it was over you couldn't help but feel dizzy and overloaded but also oh so happy, seeing Yone and Aphelios playing alongside the other members was the highlight of the concert for you.
·:¨༺ ♱✮♱ ༻¨:·- So many things were going to your mind when you were queued up for the small meet and greet that was beeing held backstage, you were one of the last people and when it was your turn you couldn't help but feel like Sett, Kayn and Ezreal were all treating you like they somehow knew you already... and they were all hiding something. You felt their gazes following you as you finally approached Yone and even he looked like something was amiss.
·:¨༺ ♱✮♱ ༻¨:·- You tried to ignore the feeling, you were about to meet the artist that managed to capture your attention so easily and always kept you wanting for more. You would not let this special occasion be ruined by your gut feeling! You took a few steps and prepared to greet him, hopefully having enough time to tell him how good his performance was and how much you enjoyed rooting for his success. Before you could even say a word he anticipated you and for a second you thought you had misheard everything he said.
·:¨༺ ♱✮♱ ༻¨:·- "Wait... how do you know my discord username?" You heard a few of Heartsteel's members chuckle, you did not realize how quiet the room had become as you were the last of their fans there, the laughter was interrupted by Yone speaking again. "Cut her some slack everyone, it's normal for her to be confused right now." Yone could see your eyes widen in realization you recognized his voice, he was your online friend! The one who would always listen to your rambles about the latest chart topping songs and give you his insight on what would make them so popular, the man who somehow knew your taste better than you at this point and was able to always give you spot on recommendations... ·:¨༺ ♱✮♱ ༻¨:·- The grounding touch of his hand on your shoulder snapped you back into reality, you blinked at him in disbelief and confusion... and then realized about how much you fangirled about him while being unaware of who you were talking to. "There must be many questions running trough your head right now and I don't blame you if you're angry at me for never revealing who I really was. If I hadn't been under such a strict NDA at the time maybe things could have been different..." ·:¨༺ ♱✮♱ ༻¨:·- You gave the man a reassuring smile, you understood why he did what he did and suddenly him asking you what you thought of all the new trailers and promotional materials made sense. You were kind of honored to have been able to give feedback -although unknowingly- to a talented artist such as him. "Maybe I could clear some things up for you over dinner... I was too nervous to eat anything before the concert." You gave him a quick nod and he motioned you to follow him, you saw him gather his laptop and headphones and haistly put them in a sleek looking backpack and then taking out the keys to his car. The rest of your time spent backstage was a blur, his hand around your back was swiftly guiding you through the various areas and muttering to security guards that you were with him if they happened to enquire about you. Once in his car he could finally drop the persona and relax a bit more, the Yone you had met online was starting to show himself more and more. "Do you have any particular preferences for food?" He asked while making his way through the still packed streets of the city. "Mmh... I think I'll leave the choice to you, after all you just performend in front of thousands of people on an empty stomach." You replied, smiling at how kind he was being to you even though he must have been starving for hours. "Fine, I saw a ramen small ramen place on my way here before the concert. It will give us enough privacy for me to finally make things up to you."

if your bonding with your daughter depends entirely on taylor swift being shown during your football game… you might just be a shitty father.

⬆️ i’m talking about THIS tweet, which went viral and has now inspired this ridiculous superbowl commercial stressing the importance of having taylor swift at football games so dads can bond with their daughters.
i mean you could just get off your ass and do something with her or try to figure out what she’s interested in, but nooo you’d rather sit on the couch and yell at the tv.

SPOTLIGHT SERENADE.
Tumblr media
includes: mikage reo x fem!reader. there’s no pronouns but it’s hinted to be female, established relationship, inspired by JK’s shirtless in bed live, not proofread — wc: 352
Tumblr media
When your boyfriend, Mikage Reo, decided to go live on Blue Lock’s streaming platform, he did it in bed, shirtless, and this instantly captivated many fans, making them smitten by him.
After the live session, you found yourself increasingly annoyed by the amount of girls claiming he was their boyfriend.
Although you knew there was nothing to worry about, as you were confident in his loyalty, you couldn’t help but feel a twinge of jealousy. So there you were, reading all the tweets and comments from people.
“Darling, you do know I love you and only you, right?” Reo stated, smiling at your annoyed face as you scrolled through the comments of people declaring him as boyfriend material.
“But you’re just encouraging their delusions, hmph,” you pouted, not wanting to see his teasing face.
“Sorry, my love. How about we go to your favourite restaurant later?” he asked, begging for forgiveness as he hugged your waist from behind, resting his chin on your shoulder.
You thought about it for a moment before agreeing, “Fine, you’re paying,” you said.
“Who said you’re going to pay?” he questioned, playfully dragging you to get ready.
That evening, an article went viral with the headline “The Rich Heir of Mikage Cooperation, Mikage Reo, Found at a Restaurant Having Dinner with a Special Someone — Who’s the Lucky Person? Read More to Find Out!”
People flooded the comments with various opinions, some expressing support for the relationship, some feeling jealous, and others just curious about the lucky person who landed someone like Reo.
Many people played detective and soon found your private socials, where they could only see your profile picture, leaving them curious. You decided to unprivate your accounts and finally released a statement confirming that yes, you are dating the one and only rich Mikage Reo.
Reo also posted a statement about it, something he had wanted to do for a long time, which sparked a multitude of comments, both filled with love and hate. Not that you cared though. You were just happy that everyone knows Reo belongs to you, and you belong to Reo.

↳ username3: wait no… i didn’t see the Twitter thread,
↳ username2: so basically one of the users that got a reply from the Bengals’ Twitter account posted how they got a notification from someone with the username @.yourTwitter that had responded to their tweet and then when they clicked the notification, the reply was deleted… but then a few seconds later, the same reply was posted by the Bengal’s Twitter team. (also the Bengals’ social media accounts and Joe Burrow follows Y/N on Twitter and Instagram).

camsample5: If they didn’t say Lebron they wrong
username1: the SM admin is posting this to try and make us forget that her identity has been exposed 😅
↳ username2: wait… is it a BAD thing that her identity has been exposed to football fans?!
↳ username3: i wouldn’t say it’s the WORSE thing ever because she’s never posted anything that could harm her in the real world… she just posts about the Bengals on IG, Twitter, and Tiktok. the only reason it would be a “bad thing” is if she didn’t want her identity to be revealed but her social media accounts are public and are followed by Joe Burrow, so maybe she never really tried to hide her identity.
bjhill5: I got the best step backkkkk!!! Nobody can check me 🤷🏾‍♂️

You could read these first (Deku), and (Dynamight) before this post for it to make sense since it's different timelines and are connected to each other post-wise. It is not necessary to do so.
_____
After a year had passed, everyone within the hero community wasn’t blind to the famous 3 graduates from U.A. A fanfiction writer and their work was trending online throughout all social media platforms. The fanfiction, with the expectation of changing their names, got published for a limited amount of physical copy without the author's permission.
The root of it becoming a trending topic was curiosity and, most of all, sadness because a crowd of fans harassed the author to where the writer had to delete their account with a massive collection of fanart over the years.
There was a panel at the Hero Expo with those same three heroes who were trending the year prior. Instead, it was during the Halloween month. The Expo requested for them to dress up as a special event for the fans.
Pro Hero Shoto pays a special tribute to the book “The Demon Prince.” He was wearing special effect makeup, showing the demonic form of the curse on the left side of his face up to his ear. He used one of the many arts of Demon Prince that was circulating the media by the same author as a reference for what he wanted.
When asked if the inspiration came from a famous book that everyone knows about, even when the author deleted their accounts. It’s well-known within the fanbase of all three.
He didn’t lie about it, because he got inspiration from it. He even expressed that he did truly enjoy the book and would still occasionally read it again whenever he could.
Another fan asked a question related to the author to everyone in the panel, which contained Pro heroes Dynamight, Deku, and Shoto.
“What would be the thing you guys would like to say or ask to the author of this book?”
It was a different response from the heroes, but all were on the same page.
If the author wishes for those books to become an officially published book. They were all willing to fund it if it was a financial issue. They all loved their book individually and would love to read more from them.
The clip of the panel was circulated throughout the media by fans. Some fans were hoping it would reach the author, who deleted their account more than a year ago.
It did reach.
Within 72 hours, the author had created a new account and provided evidence that they were, in fact, the author of “The Demon Prince, The Dragon King, The Mage.”
The author answered the hero's questions related to their books. The tweet goes viral and reposted. There are an enormous amount of times when the fans were tagged on the heroes' official accounts for them to see it.
There was art in chibi figures of the heroes underneath the thread of answers to their questions. The chibis resemble what they were wearing in the panel this weekend at the Hero Expo, including the special effect makeup on Shoto and Dynamight.

Your Fave is Anti Native - George RR Martin, David Benioff and DB Weiss
Tumblr media
Martin's portrayal of the Dothraki were inspired by a collection of Indigenous cultures as depicted below but their depiction is VERY racist and degrading.
Tumblr media
The portrayal of the Dothraki in the Game of Thrones live action series is also with it's massive problems that perpetuate racist stereotypes.
The tweet in question went viral and fans of the show have put their own ignorance and racism on full display. When your writing and your portrayal of marginalized groups inspires more racism and hatred, it is anti-indigenous. Full stop.
