#ingo doesn't actually act as sneasler's warden in any official capacity

Your Zekrom ingo is so gargoyle-esk in half form (love it) , I can just imagine him perching on high cliffs in hisui. Like that's how Akari first meets him, it's cloudy and slightly stormy in the coronet Highlands, you look up and a pair of eyes stares down at you from above, small flickers of lightning illuminating this creature.
Then he hops of the edge and floats down like a lil'guy, waving at you until you can hear him talking! I think it'd be funni =)
it's not the cloudy and stormy you mentioned. but i had a Mental Image, you see.

i have some thoughts about Melli & Adaman for question 11, but I'm also curious on your idea about first impressions/expectations (question 1) for Ingo and Adaman in both directions :vc
oooh yes okay!! (character dynamics ask game)
11. what's something A knows about B that most people don't? alternately, what's something most people believe about B that A doesn't?
this is an interesting one because it's kind of hard to think of any secrets melli and adaman have that are not also shared by mai at the least. but if there's one thing, i think it would be adaman's philosophical side/thoughts on the diamond clan spiritually. there's actually canon basis for this! melli specifically brings up adaman's "preaching" (in a slightly derogatory way sometimes, but also it's melli, what do you expect) and pesters him for wisdom about sinnoh. which sticks out a LOT when contrasted with adaman's own and also sabi's and misc other npc references to the same thing: to most of the clan he is like, infamously not very spiritual or much of a big-picture guy. to the point that it's like, his chief failing as a leader.
which is why i think it's REALLY INTERESTING ACTUALLY if melli is specifically going to him for advice about the same thing. and i think it would kind of make sense if melli was one of the only people adaman ever like, talked philosophy with, or was comfortable talking like an authority on the subject to, if most of the clan has already made their own conclusions about him and/or he feels like he has to keep up the same character act he's been doing rather than divert into something new. like the fact that melli actually values adaman's opinions in this case is REALLY telling to me.
I JUST THINK IT'S NEAT. uh. i am also v v curious about your own thoughts tho i think these 2 are such an interesting combo
1. what were A's first impressions of B? were they mostly correct or have they changed?
ough in both directions this is ALSO a really interesting one. i have actually been thinking abt adaman and ingo together but that was in a leader swap context so it's not really. As relevant here.
but in a canon context, like, their first meeting would probably have had to be during a clan officials meeting, right? of all the wardens and leaders? either ingo's initiation ceremony, although that might also be a pearl clan only event or something that does not involve the leaders so it could also have been some other meeting shortly after he was inducted. (that's if adaman never ran into him incidentally before he was made warden when he was just like, helping lady sneasler in a non-official capacity, which he might have but it probably wouldn't have been very notable to him or for very long)
either way tho i think ingo would definitely have known of adaman long before he actually met adaman, aaand probably most if not all of what he'd heard about him would be coming from irida. who is. not a hundred percent reliable in this subject. so i think his initial impressions would have been colored by the contrast btwn what irida said and how he actually acted, which is like. irida this is a guy. this is just some guy why do you hate him so much. it would have been kind of jarring at first!
after that i think ingo's opinion of him would not change so much as it would just like, gain more depth. i think ingo's fairly perceptive when it comes to reading people, so like. one of the first things he notices would be the way he interacts with his wardens—it's very informal and familiar (almost feels overly so, though nobody else seems to have that thought so oh well), often less like a hierarchy and more like a tight-knit group of friends, but he is also clearly respected, but there's also like. this layer of forced casualness to it. both in the sense of "he's trying to act like he's totally comfortable in this role when he's kind of not," and also "he's being relaxed and familiar to put other people at ease but is himself kind of on edge." obvi he has no context for why, but much much later he'll find out about the circumstances of adaman being leader and go OH. THAT EXPLAINS A LOT. obvi he never like, does anything with these observations, bc he doesn't want to gossip or spread rumors. it's just a thing he quietly wonders about for a while. also though, he's also probably not fond of the way adaman will go after irida for the littlest things, because he cares a lot about her, but also him jumping in will absolutely not help the situation so he just kind of has to sit and wait for their shouting match to be over. that part isn't really fun.
overall i think ingo is quietly of the opinion that irida's absolute spite for adaman is unnecessary—like yes, he can be a little too informal or impatient or easily distracted sometimes, but those are kind of minor things when contrasted against the fact that he's also a good leader to his clan and wrangler of his wardens, which in ingo's opinion counts for more. he's aware that adaman is (both leaders are, really) under a lot of pressure/in a demanding position and is sympathetic about it. he just wishes adaman would have a little more corresponding sympathy for irida. neither of them deserve the vitriol the other directs at them. like, you're stressed and i get that, but you're also attacking someone i care about and i wish you would stop?
on the other side of things, if adaman knew anything about ingo going in it would probably have been second- or even third-hand talk from the diamond wardens, so if he knew more than even the very basics about "the pearl clan found some guy on the mountain and kept him fsr??" i would be pretty surprised. and ingo probably would have given adaman the same initial impression he gives, like, everyone: he seems like someone who is collected and reliable and trustworthy, almost overly polite, takes his job Very Seriously. he seems surprisingly confident/comfortable in his role as warden for being so new to it. atp ingo would probably have had a while to adjust to hisui, so there would probably be a couple moments of "huh, that's a thing you should really know and don't, what's- oh. right." but not too many. they are overshadowed by ingo's corresponding habit of saying absolutely incomprehensible things with complete confidence and then just moving on. but like, you've just gotta learn to adapt to that, my man.
and then if adaman had any surprises later on it would have been his uh. lust for battle? deathwish? psychic connection with his pokemon? his knowledge is impressive but not startling, he's a warden they're supposed to be familiar with pokemon, it's his specific training style and the fact that it appears to be one of the only things he really enjoys doing. and his demeanor doesn't even change at all! he is the exact same polite put-together guy at all times it's just that he also can and will curbstomp an alpha and walk away with that light almost-smile like it was a fun diversion.
i think among the pearl clan wardens, ingo's probably one of the ones adaman like, likes or prefers interacting with the most, because he is. the least likely to start a big argument, actually he is surprisingly tolerant of even being needled by the more prickly diamond wardens (melli. i'm talking about melli.) and is also not liable to go on a 3 hour rant about anything. like, the way he talks and dresses and thinks about pokemon are all weird, but holy fuck the social skills and friendliness count for so much. and adaman is a guy who cares way more about practicality than any kind of objective Correctness, so he wouldn't care too much about the rest.
...i said a thing for the other question like oops this was a long ramble but uh. i guess i have to delete that now. I GOT A LOTTA THOUGHTS OK
