Thank you George, for your artwork, for your kindness. Your legacy both as an artist and as a man will not be forgotten.
You and Marv Wolfman forever redefined the Titans with your run on ‘New Teen Titans’:
You co created beloved characters like Starfire, Raven and Cyborg reinvented Dick Grayson as Nightwing for a whole new generation. You took comics to new heights with story arcs like Terror of Trigon and Judas Contract that are still remembered and adapted this day.
You and Mav also redefined established characters like Donna Troy, Roy Harper, Beast Boy, Aqualad, my personal favorite being Donna Troy:
Then on your own you modernized Wonder Woman for a new generation and as far as I’m concerned that run is still the gold standard:
You drew the Avengers:
And the Justice League:
You were the first illustrator on Infinity Gauntlet (which inspired Infinity War and Endgame) and illustrated the now infamous snap:
You also illustrated ‘Crisis on Infinite Earths’, the biggest event of the era and DC is still trying to catch it’s coattails:
And to top it all off you did JLA/Avengers:
And still kept going by doing the Legion of 3 Worlds:
You were the only one who could draw a hundred superheroes on one page and give each hero their own personality and character:
May you rest peacefully. For you were a titan in real life.
This guy seriously created his own girlfriend in order to make his crush jealous because she wasn't paying attention to him. Unreal 😂
"I deluded myself into thinking you could ever care for me" LMAO Thanos is just as delulu as the rest of us. I don't think Infinity Gauntlet is supposed to be a comedy since half of the universe died, but it is one lol.
Hell yeah. I know Nebula's awful but it was really satisfying after seeing her corpse throughout the comic just floating around Thanos.
Goddamn, Adam Warlock didn't have to go that hard.
All in all, I really enjoyed reading this comic, especially since it's such an iconic storyline. It was a lot more comedic than I was expecting but I don't think it was supposed to be read that way. I do enjoy how unhinged and nonsensical old comics were, I think modern comics are missing that charm. I think modern day Thanos has lost his touch compared to 90s Thanos. I think I might prefer MCU Thanos, though.
Also Infinity War included a TON of tiny references from Infinity Gauntlet that I wasn't expecting them to (might make a separate post about that) so that was fun to see.
Attack on Titan and Thanos inspired crossover - Infinity Queen Mikasa:
After discovering the Titan shifter ability, the mad Titan, Thanos begins travelling the multiverse in search of the founder to see if these Titans live up to the name they share. However before he could enter Paradis he's met swiftly by a certain red scarf wearing Ackerman ...
