The lady at my Doctor's practice who is helping me with like wellbeing, and finding charities and whatnot is amazing; She's really kind, understanding and helpful. She's also gorgeous, funny, and a massive nerd like me, so obvs I have a huge crush. But you know: inappropes.
Except she wears these fabulous dresses that show off her rather fullsome decolletage, and they are just.. there. A third (and arguably fourth) party in the room.
Now I may be a deviant, but I am not one to ogle. Women have the right to wear whatever they want without the stares of slack-jawed men*.
But then I fall victim to the combined effects of the White Bear Problem, and my autistic inability to maintain eye-contact, so now I'm worried thinking that every time I look at her: I look at her eyes, glance down at her chest, and then look away. Like a fucking creep.
I don't want to look at her cleavage! Most of my attraction to her is based on the fact that we vibe and she's nice to me. In fact I am incredibly attracted to literally anyone that's nice to me atm, as I'm so lonely and broken.
So as an end result I just stare at this part of the skirting board that doesn't quite fit the rest, and now she thinks I'm way more autistic than I actually am.

Love scrolling through the Jeanmarco tag, seeing heart wrenching stuff, amazing art, great headcanons, and of course the tumblr ads that just say “sexy dance!” “F*nger me!”
And I’m just there like,,, ma’am, please that is wildly inappropriate. Put your clothes back on, I’m scandalised.

Cold - Steve Harrington x Fem!Reader
Summary: Reader waits for Steve to finish his shift at Family Video and almost gets him into trouble.
Word Count: 1111
Warnings ⚠️: Swearing, implied sex (I think that’s it)
Tumblr media
The bell on the door to Family Video rang as she entered. From the doorway she could see Robin standing behind the desk on the phone, her face lighting up when she saw her and she gave her a wave in greeting. She’d come to meet Steve, who should be finishing his shift soon, but looking around the store she was unable to see him.
Turning her gaze back to Robin who seemed to be able to sense what she was doing, pointed to the break room towards the back of the store all the while the phone was still pressed to her ear. She mouthed a thank you to her before heading in the direction Robin had pointed.
The door to the break room was partially open and through the gap she saw Steve, his back to the door as he fussed with something she couldn’t see on the counter top in front of him. Silently as she could she made her way into the room but he still heard her but because he didn’t turn around she guessed that he assumed it was Robin.
“I told you I’ll be out in a minute” he huffed, confirming her suspicions and she tried not to laugh as she snuck up behind him. Deciding to scare him, she thought quickly on what to do because if she left it too long then he’d turn around to see why he got no reply and she’d miss her chance. Then remembering she’d just come in from the cold and because she’d manage to lose her gloves earlier in the week, her hands were like ice.
“Holy fucking shit” Steve yelled at the sudden icy touch snaking it’s way up the back of his shirt. “Robin I swear” he begins to threaten as he turns to face the culprit, though his words falter when he comes face to face with her instead and his whole body softens immediately when he sees the grin on her face and her shoulders shaking with her silent laughter. He breathes a quiet gasp of her name as he shakes his head at her as she finally dissolves into laughter unable to hide it.
“I’m sorry, I couldn’t help it” she says through her laughter and Steve can’t help the grin that tugs at his lips, unable to hide it even if he tries.
“I swear it’s a good job I love you” he relents as he pulls her into a hug, the feeling of concern filling him when he realises it’s not only her hands that are cold. Despite the coat and scarf she has on, he can feel the cold lingering on her skin and when she tucks her head into the crook of his neck he can’t help the gasp that escapes him as her cold nose touches his skin. “Baby you’re like ice, did you walk over here” he asks, pulling back from her and gazing down at her with those big brown eyes that make her melt.
She nods slowly, disappointed that he pulled back from the hug and took his warmth with him. “You gonna warm me up?” she hums, sticking her bottom lip out at him and looking up at him with the best puppy dog eyes she can muster, knowing that he can never say no when she does.
“Oh yeah and how do you expect me to do that?” he teases, eyebrow raised in amusement as she pretends to think.
Raising up on her toes, she lets a hand slide up his chest until it reaches his neck where it curls around the back of it so that she can pull him down the rest of the way to meet her. “I have a few ideas” she whispers, her lips brushing against his lips as she speaks before she presses them together more firmly as they mould together in a kiss. Seemingly forgetting where they are, Steve lets his hands wander from where they are rested against her hips and over the swell of her ass which he uses as leverage to pull her closer to him.
A cough from the doorway pulls them apart, both of them blinking slowly as they come back to their senses, a blush spreading across her skin when she realises that they’ve been caught making out in the break room of his job. “Just thought I’d let you know that Keith just turned up for his shift so I suggest you wrap this up before he fires you for inappropriate behaviour” Robin scolds Steve, who hangs his head, knowing that she was right. “And I suggest you get out front before we both get in trouble for allowing you back here” she adds, turning to you as she motions between herself and Steve.
Feeling like two children who have been caught doing something they shouldn’t, they both nod and as she makes her way out of the room she hears him mutter to Robin. “Thanks I owe you one” and she doesn’t know why but it makes her smile, probably because she knew the friends he used to have back in school and Robin is by far so much better than they were which warms her heart knowing that he’s got some great people by his side now.
Heading towards the romance section, she tries to look as inconspicuous as possible as Keith enters the store. Whether it works or not is doubtful as she catches the suspicious look that he shoots her as he makes his way to the break room, passing by Robin who flashes him a smile as she stands behind the desk again. While Steve, who she assumes was trying to look like he was busy, comes out of the back room with a box of tapes in his hand as he pretends he hadn’t even realised the time when Keith tells him he can go.
While Steve is collecting his things, she bids Robin a goodbye and silently thanks her before she makes her way out of the store just minutes before Steve follows her out. She meets him by his car, arms open wide as he gets closer and he smiles as he falls into them, placing a short sweet kiss to her lips. “So my house or yours?” he asks as if the answer is going to be any different to what it usually is.
“Well if you want to finish what you started then you know where to go” she winks, leaving him with no chance to say anything else as she climbs into the car, giggling as she watches him sprint around to the drivers side.

Hi!
I'm Kate, a new-ish addition in the tumblr community! I have been meaning to introduce myself for quite a while, but now I'm rather comfortable! Currently I am studying to pursue my dreams of working in the funeral industry. Although, I am (thankfully) here because I was dragged outta the closet when I was found by my soulmate(🐯) whom I am very monogamous with, I am mostly interested in random interactions as they roll along and open to making new friends! I don't care to flirt with anyone but my partner here, inapprops DMs will get you blocked. Send me an ask, I'll answer!
This is my main blog I like and follow from, and I tend to post a wide variety of things that sparks my interests. Some of it may be triggering, I never mean to be offensive. Let me know if it is, I don't like riff-raff. From wlw, to inspirational posts, bullshit memes and everything else in between! Men, please DNI... there is a reason I'm gay. No minors, and definitely no haters!

Ultimately, I am here to have fun and to enjoy being part of my future stone butch wife's world in every way possible. 😻

Call Me By Your Name - André Aciman
the aftermath of the peach-incident (book vs movie):
i want to discuss what happens after the peach-incident, comparing the book and the movie here. the differences may seem subtle but i think they have great impact on how readers/viewers perceive both elio and oliver in that scene.
in the book:
elio hesitates to let oliver eat the peach, simply because he thinks it's really gross. he asks him not to do it (g.e: "please don't." and "look, you don't have to do this." ) fearing that oliver may feel like he must eat it.
when oliver takes it, elio tries to take it away from him. he doesn't succeed and ends up letting oliver eat the peach. again, elio tells him that he doesn't have to do this.
it seems like rather not wanting oliver to eat it he wants to make sure he doesn't feel forced to eat it.
this scene is followed by elio kind of getting a mental breakdown (aka he starts crying). i want to highlight and recall his reasons for crying again, because these are very important when it comes to the comparison with the movie scene:
"i was crying because no stranger had ever been so kind or gone so far for me (...). I was crying because i'd never known so much gratitude and there was no other way to show it."
it's pretty self-explanatory; elio feels beyond touched by the fact that oliver eats the peach. especially because he, himself finds it really gross, he thinks of it as something very nice. as he says himself, no one has ever done something so kind for him ever before, which makes him feel really grateful, hence the emotional reaction.
now let's take a look at what happens in the movie:
in the movie:
first off all, what i noticed is that there's less dialogue. elio mentioning that oliver doesn't have to do this doesn't happen. he only asks him to not do it and when oliver proceeds anyway, elio tries to take the peach from him.
again, he doesn't succeed, but this time there is no time between elio letting go and starting to cry. oliver doesn't even have time to actually eat the peach, because as soon as elio lets go he's already crying, and it's not very little (kudos to timotées excellent acting here).
we don't actually know elio's reasons for crying here, but what we know is that he doesn't cry because he thinks of oliver eating the peach as a kind thing. oliver doesn't get to eat the peach; therefore this cannot be the reasoning.
personally i think that elio's reasons for crying are probably more related to the big picture than just the peach. he's overwhelmed, doesn't really know what's going on, feels lost, confused, sad, whatsoever.
the following dialogue proves exactly that. in total despair elio tells oliver that he doesn't want him to go. important is, that this does not take place in the book in that scene.
elio is already thinking of the unavoidable moment where oliver is going to leave him, and he seems to have already forgotten about the peach. instead he feels totally miserable because he knows that there's no way oliver is going to stay with him.
i adore this scene and its' changes in the movie a lot because it makes elio so realistic. we feel with him and we exactly know how overwhelming everything must feel in that moment.
another nice detail about this scene is oliver's reaction to seeing elio cry. he immediately puts the peach away, very obviously alarmed by elio's reaction. he hugs him, holds him, takes his face into his hands and repeatedly whispers "it's okay" to him. he doesn't let go of him until he has calmed down.
again, nothing of this happens in the book. though it is described that elio sobs into oliver's shoulder, we don't see oliver doing anything about it. rather than comforting elio, he tells him fairly carelessly that elio knows what he's getting himself into with sexually engaging with oliver (exact quote: "whatever happens between us, elio, i just want you to know. don't ever say you didn't know." )
i find this to be a pretty inappropriate thing to say to a teenager who's currently crying in front of you, because of your actions. but then again, in the book, elio isn't crying because he feels bad about it. it seems as if oliver somehow knows about it, though it feels impossible for him to actually know.
conclusion:
overall i really like what they changed about this scene in the movie. generally i'm more of a fan of trying to make the movie as accurate to the book as possible. the changes here are a pretty good decision though, in my opinion, because they simply work better for the situation than the original does (again, just my opinion). while the original has something about it that really makes you question the characters and their actions, the movie version shows something that seems more realistic for a teenager in this situation.
