I hated sanjis shit with his siblings bc I went through the same shit (on a smaller scale) and responded the same way, with empathy and self sacrificial tendencies. not just bc I wanted to be loved&accepted by them but bc family meant so much to me. the way my older siblings were very cold and acted how they were supposed to act, while I was very sensitive and had specific interests that they'd shit on and wouldn't support. how I had siblings but was alone most of the time. I hated watching all of that so much bc even at the end neither him or I can bring ourselves to truly hate these ppl. we are too soft too empathetic too understanding. it's not fair that we were the targets but things aren't fair for them either.

Reading through A Christmas Carol for the first time, its weird how disproportionately sized the sections are. There is SO much more detail given to the Cratchit’s dinner than to anything from the ghost of Christmas Past. You get half a line from Scrooge’s sister about “father’s much kinder now, he’ll let you come home” with no explanation, a quick glimpse of an unnamed fiancée, and then Dickens swoops in like No Time for That! We Have to Know Every Single Thing that Cratchit’s are Wearing and Eating.

Today was one of those days where I needed to simply paint... no direction nor idea, just to go for it. Painting has always been something that always made me feel calm and present. This is a piece done on a wooden slab I had lying around for a while in my studio so I figured why not.

When Izzy first walked out I was worried that he would be made into a joke that the crew would laugh at

but then he started singing and the dancing began and I realized that he wasn’t meant to be a joke at all. This is the most open and happy we’ve ever seen Izzy and the show treated it that way. Not mocking him but instead celebrating this moment.

When we talk about queer representation it’s usually just focused on queer relationships, but what I love about this episode is it shows other sides of being queer. That moment where Izzy saw Wee John doing his makeup and had a realization that he wanted that too? That is what being queer means to me. The crew singing along and cheering for him? That is what being apart of the queer community means to me.

What i love about this show is that it shows queer joy, not in a sanitized way, but in away that is messy, beautiful, and without any mockery or shame.
