I like to imagine Zomboss would eventually stop producing high quality Z-Mechs and instead mass produce shitty ones to 1) pollute more and 2) get more mechs out there

Have you ever played the PVZ garden warfare games (if not, you might want to watch some videos on the gameplay for this to make sense)? The plants and zombies are human sized, can walk and basically have superpowers in those games. Imagine poor m/c dealing with that lol

I’ve never played it, but I’ve watched a lot of gameplay videos- so yes I practically do know.

It’s been a long while, so I can’t exactly remember the names off the top of my head… But-

I would say my favourite hero would be…Peashooter- specifically, Plasma Pea. (I just love the colour lmao)

For the zombies, my favourite hero is- Imp. But the Shrimp Mech. I love mechs in general.

Kernel Corn gives Protective + Possessive- Bro will be shooting at any zombie that’s like 2 streets away from you.

He doesn’t like it when you pay attention to other plant heroes, it makes him jealous. So he often tries to show off his greatness as a fighter to get your praise/affection.

By the circumstance you’re alone, (let’s say split off from the rest of the plants) he’s gonna be like- trying to flirt…But make it really weird and kinda bad-

Like- he’ll say “You’re so small, like a piece of corn. A little piece of corn…”

Don't ask me how I rated the characters, but even despite this, I just adore Imp and Citron

Just like Garden Ops, the zombie team will have to fight giant bosses on some waves. A team of up to four players will play as the zombies against waves of AI plants. It works just like Garden Ops, but with the teams reversed. These are basic features of most modern online shooters it's good to see Garden Warfare 2 catching up.ĭuring the show, we tried out a new cooperative game mode: Zombie Ops. If they prefer to just play with friends, they'll enjoy the new private games option. Players can now join parties and move smoothly between different online game types without fear of anyone getting left behind. But at least local teams can battle bots together. At last, people might actually want to play split-screen! Sadly, split-screen players can't join in online games – another oversight. Now both players can use their own profiles, making progress and earning Achievements independently. Whichever modes you choose, the game supplies bots as enemies.Ģ-player split-screen has gotten much better as well. You can now play all game types in single-player without the need for Xbox Live or PS+. The new game improves on offline support dramatically. However, the game required Xbox Live or PS+ to even play, so nobody could actually buy it for offline play.

It did offer one mode that could be played in single-player or split-screen (on Xbox One and PS4) though: Garden Ops. Garden Warfare started out as a multiplayer-only online shooter. I had a blast playing as this zombie, but his lack of a standard jumping attack is annoying. Super's "Turbo Twister" move spins him around in a tornado, knocking opponents back. His first ability sends him flying forward in a kick, which can also be performed from the air. His default punch attack can combo up to three times.

Super Brainz: A superhero zombie who has lost a boot, and also the zombie's first melee class.

Deadbeard's "Cannon Rodeo" ability summons a powerful cannon for him to ride. His second ability allows him to hide in a barrel for reduced damage, detonating the barrel when he needs to escape. Zooming in causes it to telescope out and act as a sniper rifle.ĭeadbeard's Parrot Pal can fly around the battlefield, pooping on plants below. Interestingly, his weapon normally fires scattershots like a shotgun.

Captain DeadBeard: Since the zombies now have territory to defend in Garden Warfare 2, they need a long-range specialist like DeadBeard, their first-ever sniper.

Finally, it can self-destruct and allow the Imp to keep on fighting. The Z-Mech's "Missile madness" ability unleashes a barrage of projectiles from its shoulders. It can stomp a foot to deal massive damage to enemies. Its main attack is an arm-mounted rocket launcher.

Z-Mech: Not technically its own character, but the Imp's Z-Mech does have unique abilities.

As a purist, I'm a teeny bit sad the Imp doesn't get to ride on a Gargantuar instead of a robot. Finally, Imp can summon a giant robot called the Z-Mech. He can also throw a gravity grenade that sucks plants together for easy killing.

His first ability (the Impkata) involves using his rocket pack to spin in a circle, firing shots everywhere.

Imp: The smallest and fastest character in the game, Imp can even double jump.

We do know more about the new zombies and their powers: Garden Warfare 2 pre-orders are now available the game will arrive on PlayStation 4, Windows and Xbox One.The plants' actual abilities will be revealed at a later date. When the jump button is pressed while Seedling is in mid-air, his leaves will spin around like helicopter blades, this is the Plant equivalent of the Imp's boosters.īio: Seedling is the newest recruit of L.E.A.F, but since he's still pretty young, he has to use Dual Laser guns, which are hand-me-downs from Kernel Corn.ĭaffodill uses a beam from her hand on a teammate that is near her, similar to the Sunflower's heal beam, but instead of healing the teammate it amplifies the damage that they deal.ĭaffodill throws an Intensive Carrot, which revives a fallen teammate, it is very useful in a pinch, but the cooldown is quite long!ĭafodill throws a Cherry Bomb, which detonates and damages zombies near it. Seedling's Mech jets up and flies in the direction he's facing Seedling gets ejected out of the mech, which then promptly explodes. Seedling's Mech spins, knocking back zombies in its vicinity. Seedling charges up a huge beam from his laser guns and fires it in the direction he's facing Self-explanatory, Seedling gets out a walkie-talkie and an airdrop drops a mech, which Seedling pilots. The Seedling throws a grenade, which knocks zombies around it back, dealing some damage 10 Differences from Garden Warfare 2 (and 1).
