the sound of the iphone alarm rings throughout the bedroom. a mix of deep, raspy groans and soft whining fill the room, replacing said irritating noise.

you reach to tap the ‘snooze’ button but a hand grabs your arm. he stretches a hand out to hit it instead but missed 5 times before effectively shutting it off. he groans, wrapping his arms around your waist and burying his face into your chest.

“babe, get up. you’re too fat, you’re suffocating me.”

“‘s too early to get up, stop squirming,” he reaches a hand up to your face, trying to cover your mouth before you slap it away.

you wriggle in his grasp before stopping, surrendering to his warmth.

“morning, my sweet waffle with honey, maple syrup and berries on top.”

there was a good few seconds of silence to make you realise he’s not joking and genuinely calls you that.

upon imagining the image of waffles in your mind, the idea obviously makes your stomach grumble. you wanted to get up and make some but forgot about the tired guy on your chest.

with a loud groan, you drag him with you out of bed. you can definitely hear his quiet giggles as he brings the blanket with him, perched on his shoulders while you drag him around.

“i got it, i got it!”

“baby, let me pay for it!” you strain out, struggling against his tight embrace. you can feel the vibrations of his chest behind you as he captures your arms in one hand and tries to put the money in the machine with the other.

you squeal when you free your hands from his vice grip and he tickles you to prevent sticking your money in.

“babe, babe stop! i wanna pay, its my turn.”

“i got it, don’t worry. im not gonna let you pay, ill cover it,” he laughs, taking the cash from your hands and slipping it back into your wallet.

at this point, you’re thrashing around in his grasp, not harsh enough to hurt him though. he has his arms hooked under your shoulders to prevent you from moving forward.

“please, let me pay! i got it, its fine!” he protests through his own laughter.

you throw your head back on his shoulder, giggling while trying to free yourself from his grip. he leans downwards and presses several kisses to your face, successfully stopping your movements.

he paid for you again. hey, at least you tried, right?

Pairing: Pedro Pascal x reader

Summary: Your friend Pedro takes care of you while you're sick, and he's such a good doctor, that something sparks between the two of you.

warnings: reader being sick and having a fever (?) and my shitty writing cause im tired

(this was a request, and a very beautiful one too)

All you had done was text him that you were sick, and the next thing you knew, he was knocking at your door.

And that wasn't even the weirdest part, the weirdest part was that you weren't surprised, because that's how Pedro was, caring, protective, and always there for you, no matter what.

The first thing he'd done as you opened the door was scolding you for even being up, and consequently, the second was ushering you to your own couch and forcing you to sit down.

You laughed the whole time at how worried he was, but then again, your genuine gratitude shined through with his every act, a gentle smile and a "thank you" spilled out of your lips the moment he made you tea, or wrapped you up in a blanket, or pulled you into his chest when the cover stopped being enough.

You remained like that, hiding in his arm while watching tv for the whole afternoon, but unfortunately, after he'd made you some soup (which you had tried convincing you could cook on your own) and ate it with you, it was time for him to go.

So with a heavy heart and a final hug, he was gone... only to return 2 minutes later.

"Missed me already?" you joked, opening the door again

"Always" he smiled, before getting more serious "I have a problem with my car" he explained "It's not turning on, and I-" he scratched the back of his neck, trailing off "I kind of have no way of getting home"

"oh" you breathed, understanding the situation "You can just stay here" You shrugged, the solution obvious in your eyes

"Are you sure? I don't wanna be a burden or anythin-"

"a burden?" you frowned, stunned "What are you talking about Pedro, you could never be a burden" you promised, inviting him in again "and plus... I feel safer with my own personal doctor here with me" you grinned playfully

"yeah?" he laughed "Well then how could I refuse to help my favorite patient?"

"Favorite?" you gasped, feigning flatter as your right hand went to your heart "You're gonna make me blush doctor"

He snorted at that, his eyes lingering on yours for a second too long.

"Well then, the doctor's ordering bed rest"

You scowled at him, rolling your eyes

"I'm already starting to regret my decision" you muttered, but in no time, you were laid beneath the covers, ready to go to sleep.

"Ok then you're all set, I'll go prep the couch" he said, starting for the door

"what?" you asked

"the couch, I need to-"

You stopped him before he could go on

"You're not sleeping on the couch Pedro" you stated, watching his brows frown "It's uncomfortable as hell" you explained "and there's enough room here for the both of us" Your eyes went to the empty spot beside you

"Oh- no, y/n I can't"

"yes, yes you can" you interrupted him again "And you will" you decided "I'm sick, so that means you have to do whatever I tell you"

"sweetheart..."he sighed, glaring at you

"please" you pouted, "It would make me feel better knowing you're close to me" you pleaded, your best puppy eyes on you.

And what could Pedro do but not agree when you were looking at him like that? He was only a man after all.

"alright" he grumbled, "but I hope you know that means you'll have to hear me snore the whooole night"

But as it turns out, you didn't.

Your fever started going up the moment you shut off the lights, you turned and tossed the whole night, while him... he stayed up with you, checking your fever, giving you medicine and placing wet cold cloths on your forehead, until finally... you started feeling better and began drifting off... if only, of course, those damned church bells hadn't rung.

But even then, Pedro was there, placing his hands on your ears to try and protect you from the noise, and once they stopped, once he had gotten a taste of how good it felt to stay so close to you, well then he didn't have it in him to lean away, so he did the opposite: he put his arm around you and pulled you close, gently whispering "You need to rest", before inevitably, you did as told.

And it was only the morning after that you remembered all of it, it was only once you woke up, his arm still reassuringly around you, his words still reverberating in your ear, that you realized everything.

"good morning" he murmured, his head nestled into your neck

"morning" you smiled, your voice hoarse as you turned around to look at him, finding him but an inch from your face... and yet he didn't lean away.

"thank you" you whispered "for everything"

"darling I'm always gonna be here for you, whatever you need"

You smiled wide, watching his eyes fall to your lips

"stop it" you murmured

"stop what?" he laughed

"being so nice"

"why?" he asked, smiling

You bit your lip, pondering if saying what you wanted to say really was a good idea... but then again, it was the truth, so...

"'cause you're making me want to kiss you"

"'s that right?" he smirked, inching closer

"mh-mh"

"and what's stopping you?"

"I don't want you to get sick" you said, watching him huff a laugh

"sweetheart" he shook his head, grinning brightly "I would catch a thousand colds if it meant I got to kiss you"

And although your heart skipped a beat, you couldn't help but laugh out a quick "that's disgusting", before his lips finally met with yours.

I just wanna take the time to list the fucking bugs on the QSMP because they range from mildly inconvenient to this has changed history forever and they are the weirdest fucking bugs

Broken hearts: this is the bug of when people log in, it shows half of their hearts just being blacked out and it take someone smacking you to get them back. Its very funny when an egg or someone randomly goes "hey hit me". Honorary mention is when someone gets withered and the withered hearts stay. Very angsty I love.

Broken voice: this is many things, but mainly when someone has to deafen and undeafen when someone relogs. It was a big problem in early days because people didnt know and it was annoying, but now its just common knowledge.

Sweeping edge: Me and my homies hate this bug. Basically it was a line of code in one of the mods that got bugged and instead of sweeping edge dealing 0.5 of the damage of a hit, it would deal 5 time more. For example, when Etoiles and Bad were testing it out, Pomme hit Bad with a weapon and it killed Etoiles who was next to Bad. This is more than likely the cause of deaths for Tilin and Juanaflippa. Im glad it got fixed, but it still installs fear into OG islanders to this day.

Dorime bug: The funniest and stupidest bug of all. Dorime randomly playing out of nowhere and the only way to get it to stop is to turn musicbox noises on and off. It happens enough that people usually have their musicbox noises turned off at all times

Sound bug: Sounds be loud. Even from hundreds of blocks away. This is elevator sounds, monster/demon sounds, camera sounds, etc. Its normal at this point, but it sometimes freaks people out and think admins are fucking with them.

Dapper's flying hammer bug: A recent bug, but when Dapper and someone fight and Dapper hits them with their hammer, they start flying indefinitely or until they relog. The first time this happened was fucking insane because it was Dapper and Ramon doing their usual fighting and then Ramon started flying away. Fit, Bad, and Dapper all had no idea what to do and were all freaking out/crying laughing.

Ramon's duping bug: A bug that's been fixed, but Ramon figured out that if you sling shot something in a certain way (I think it was in the Copacabana ocean?) it would dupe a whole stack of whatever was shot. This also lead to Ramon and Fit figuring out that if you sling shot a waystone, it fucking crashes the server. Which led to a day where everyone was using that so they can keep doing Lucky Ducks.

Death bug: This is when someone has the visual of "0.0/100.0 Time left 00:00:00" stuck on their screen. Usually leads to someone BEGGING someone to let them kill them. Pretty funny and dumb.

Eggs being tall: Aka eggs models not loading for people. It usually makes people try to roleplay their way out and being scared of tall eggs. I.E. "Tall Richas isnt real" or Cellbit screaming in horror in purgatory when the lil eye guy model wasnt loading and saying the castle is haunted.

Teleport bug: Not very common, but some times if someone is trying to use their warpstone, they particles start to fly around them and they dont stop until the person lets go of the warpstone. This can make a wall of purple particles around someone.

Egg names: This is a very early "bug". In the beginning, in order for the parents to name their egg, they had to right click their eggs and name them. This made people accidentally name their eggs stuff like "eee" or "Wwww". Also other parents naming other eggs other names (Mariana named Leo "shit" and Foolish named Juana "Marianaisabitchjr"). On the first day, for some reason, everyone was named "TILIN" for like 5 minutes. This 'bug' also got the iconic clip of Phil right clicking on the OG code and he got a chance to name it and it freaked him out.

Im pretty sure there's a lot more, but I love how insanely modded server has the weirdest bugs known to man. Feel free to add any you remember.

I’M VERY SORRY FOR RESPONDING SO LATE things came up and i got distracted! im very sorry for this! but, here they are, i hope u like them!

1.what size bed does your muse typically prefer to sleep on? (ex. twin, full, queen, etc) Their bed is two full-size beds pushed together to make a super mega jumbo monster-size bed, made of two different mattresses; a medium-firm mattress for Liet and his back problems, and a medium-soft mattress for Matty.

2. does your muse find it easier to sleep in a warmer room or a cooler room? Matty prefers to sleep in a warm room. Liet prefers to have the fan on max cooling, while also being wrapped up in a blanket burrito. Also, I feel I should add that Liet's feet are perpetually freezing, and he puts his ice-feet on Matthew's legs when sleeping :/

3. is your muse typical about where they sleep or can they fall asleep just about anywhere? Liet, yes, a little bit; but, his sleeping spots are not *all* just in his bed. His sleeping spots are also in the car, on the sofa, in his chair at the meetings, and in his hammock in the yard (though, it has to be warm and sun-shining for this). He also might fall asleep sunbathing occasionally, though.

4. what position does your muse usually sleep in? Liet like to curl up wrapped in nice, thick, blankets. Sometimes, he wants to be spooned. And, he prefers to be the little spoon. But, most of the time, Liet drifts off while resting on Matty’s chest. Matty likes to sprawl out, and also likes to hold Liet in his sleep.

5. does your muse tend to prefer firmer mattresses or plushier ones? Liet prefers medium-firm mattresses for his back problems, and Matty prefers medium-soft mattresses

6. does your muse snore? do they sleep talk or make any other sounds in their sleep? Matthew doesn’t really do any of that, but Liet on the other hand. Liet tends to talk in his sleep a lot, and often even whimpers, yells, and cries a bit. He also drools on his pillow, but like, it’s a more normal amount of drool, so Matty isn’t annoyed.

7. is your muse a still or active sleeper? do they move around a lot in their sleep? During normal dreams, no; they would be mostly just staying still and cuddling. But when Liet has a nightmare, it’s like he gets in a full-blown brawl with the blankets!

8. does your muse typically prefer sleeping by themselves or do they prefer the comfort of having another person in the room with them? Either way, Liet still has really really really bad nightmares, but having someone comfortable like Matthew there with him makes him feel a bit better. And, Matty also likes sharing a bed with Liet, even if he does have TERRIBLE, terrible, terrible, nightmares often.

9. does your muse like sharing a bed, or do they prefer to have their own space? Again, Matty doesn’t mind sharing his bed with Liet. And, Liet doesn’t mind sharing a bed with Matty. And again, either way, liet still has reallyyyyyy bad bad bad nightmares often times, but Matty makes him feel a bit better about them.

10. how many pillows does your muse sleep with? are they comfortable with just one or do they like to be cozy? They both love pillows.

11. what type of blanket does your muse prefer (standard blanket, quilt, comforter, weighted blanket, etc)? Liet has a plush weighted blanket. It is colored in mossy green, and reminds slightly of moss. It looks kinda like this (see image below), but thicker because it is weighted.

Though, while Liet absolutely LOVES his comfort moss (weighted) blanket, the one downside is that, when he is having a nightmare that causes him to struggle around a lot, he tends to get trapped underneath it in his sleep!

12. how long does it typically take for your muse to fall asleep? For Liet, it doesn’t actually take long at all! But for Matthew, he will be scrolling the internet for a couple hours at least with Liet already snoozing on his chest, before he falls asleep too.

13. how often does your muse dream? are they mostly pleasant or is their sleep more likely to be filled with nightmares? Well, as you know by now, Liet has bad bad BAD nightmares. Matthew on the other hand, has some really weird Alice-In-Wonderland-esque dreams.

14. does your muse take any sleeping aids (ex. pills, melatonin supplements, etc)? No, not really.

15. how many hours of sleep does your muse typically get? Um.. I don’t know.. If Liet is working still during night, he probably won’t sleep at all. But, often times when he does sleep, he doesn’t sleep well at all 🙁Matthew gets around 7-4 hours of sleep.

16. does your muse wake up in the middle of the night often or can they sleep through the night? Well, usually, Matthew sleeps well until morning, but Liet wakes up in the middle of the night really often, and in a PANIC too. 🙁

17. does your muse like to take naps during the day? how often and for how long? If Liet has a chance to nap and also feels like napping, then maybe, but only maybe. Matthew, on the other hand, naps quite often!

18. does your muse have insomnia? have they ever experienced insomnia? to what degree of severity? No, but they’ve had it before. Liet doesn’t have insomnia, he just suffers severe nightmares. 🙁

19. has your muse ever been diagnosed with any sleep disorders? Well, if it counts, Liet is diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety disorder and PTSD. And, most of his really really REAllY bad nightmares, come from PTSD. They’re PTSD nightmares. 🙁

20. does your muse have any pre-bedtime rituals or routines (like facial care, meditation, shower, medications, etc)? do they have any pre-bedtime activities like reading, playing video games, going on their phone, etc? Well yes, of course. Liet takes some mental health medicines, and then likes to have a scorching hot bath before bed, brush his teeth, clean his face, tie up his curly hair, use the toilet, and watch Matthew scroll on his phone for a little bit before falling asleep.

Matthew takes a shower, combs his hair, washes his face, brushes his teeth, uses the toilet, and then gets into bed to scroll his phone for a while while Liet rests on his chest and watches.

21. does your muse wear a sleep mask? No

22. is your muse sensitive to light while they sleep, or do they not mind it? I wouldn’t say so– though, Liet sometimes drapes an arm over his face to subconsciously block a little extra light from his eyelids.

23. does your muse prefer to sleep in complete silence or hear some kind of background noise? Liet likes a bit of white noises. Not to be cheesy or anything, but by “white noises”, I mean the sound of Matthew’s breathing & heartbeat. Matthew likes ASMR.

24. does your muse listen to music while falling asleep? No, neither of them do this. Matthew may occasionally listen to ASMR, though.

25. are their any conditions in where your muse absolutely cannot fall asleep (ex. bug in the room, temperature, smell, etc)? Liet cannot and will not sleep if he sees a roach or spider in the room, or if it has any heavy smell.

26. does your muse have any odd or atypical sleeping habits? Liet puts his ice-feet on Matthew’s legs, drools, talks, yells, yelps, cries, and fights with the blankets. And, Matthew is a hugger.

27. what does your muse typically like to wear to bed? does it depend on the season/weather outside? Pajamas. It depends on the season, but generally, Liet likes long-sleeved but loose and airy and cool pajamas, and Matthew likes warm pajamas.

28. does your muse tend to wake up with bedhead? YES. Liet especially.

29. does your muse have any routines they follow when they wake up (like makeup, facial care, stretching, shower, medications, etc)? do they have any activities they like to do immediately after waking up? Liet uses the toilet, brushes his teeth, washes his face, puts on his blobfish slippers Matthew gave him as a joke present on his birthday once (it’s ok, he gave him plenty of real, non-joke presents too), and goes to the kitchen to get breakfast. Most mornings, Liet just doesn’t feel like fighting with his hair though :/

Matthew also uses the toilet, brushes his teeth, washes his face, and goes to the kitchen to get breakfast. Except, he doesn’t wear funky blobfish slippers, and he also fixes his hair.

30. how long does it typically take your muse to wake up in the morning? can they make it by without coffee or do they need caffeine? NO.

Tolys definitely fell asleep while floating in water, with some tiny little bait fish nibbling his toes & fingers. At least a few times. Luckily, he did not drown, but it scared the shit out of Mattie to see him snoozing while floating in the water.

The last 48 hours i have been so incredibly psychic its actually making me a little nauseous it feels like im in one of those teacup cars that is spinning super fast. As in like every random thought im having is super arbitrary shit i havent thought about in so long that happens to me like 24 hours later. Last two days i would remember a random thing, wonder about it, and wake up to an update on it the next morning. 😳 I also tried meditating last night and i felt the weirdest sensations coming over my body before drifting off to sleep. I have never felt myself experiencing anything like it before. Someone asked me about meditation once and at the time i didnt meditate but now i highly suggest guided meditation and focusing on the shapes being created behind your eyelids. Big game changer for me was the shapes behind my eyelids thing but i couldnt have achieved the results without the guided meditation in tandem with the shapes. If anyone is interested in the very special sacred youtube guided meditation i did that had my soul detaching from my body i can link it. very rare find i have looked for good guided meditations but i think the white noise in this particular video is what sealed it as rare as hell. ive been trying to do both guided meditation and unguided meditation to white noises of all kinds butttt none worked. this one did. I could not clear my mind for the life of me before but the guy i watched helped keep me on track. i actually had me getting these weird shivers and tingles i have never felt before bed it was an unreal sensation and very intense too. Ive also had a dull headache directly behind my forehead the last 2 days which is weird when you take migraine medicine that always works and has the last 4 years. and its not responding to pain killers either like 2 day long super dull headache… anyway that meditation was actually so crazy i think im going to become addicting to doing it just for the full body like shutters and tingles. It was so intense and so pleasant.

i find you unimaginably cool and ive expressed to you before on anon the sentiment that i feel a deep kinship towards you for how you speak so candidly abt your own stupidity (pls dont take that as me calling you stupid) bcuz i feel exactly the same way abt my own stupidity and hate when ppl try to talk me out of it but ANYways i just saw your post abt writing a novelization of splice and i am literally reeling. i love that weird ass movie so much and i think writing a novelization of it is one of the most off the wall and amazing things ive ever heard of. i hope that you will share when it is published bcuz i cannot wait to read it. pls know that someone out there understands you (or at least understands you as best as someone can thru this parasocial lens of tumblr and how you choose to share yourself there) and that someone out there thinks you are basically what i hope i can be when i grow up. thank you for sharing. thank you for articulating yourself as well as you do (i too have the itch to tell you you are not stupid but bcuz i know how it is i wont do it but besides that, i think you are one of the clearest and most well articulated writers ive ever encountered online or elsewhere). sorry, this all feels insane to type. im off two tallboy ipas and i just think youre great.

Oddly enough, just the other day somebody liked an older post of mine, and when I clicked on it to remind myself of what it was, the next post down was your last message. Anyway, thanks! The whole novelization business is really funny. Do people even know what they are anymore? I didn't know anybody still made them until I was hired to do SPLICE. I used to get them from the drugstore sometimes when I was a kid because my parents were very uptight about what I watched, but they wouldn't be caught dead restricting anyone's reading habits. During my initial conversation with the SPLICE publisher, we kind of bonded over our memories of the CHILD'S PLAY 2 novelization, of all things, that seemed to help me a lot in addition to my ideas about what SPLICE should be like on paper. I tend to think of novelizations as just another piece of merch, but when you write them, I don't know, like you really have to live out the movie in your mind over and over again to figure out what the characters are experiencing physically, environmentally, how their emotional experiences affect their bodies, etc. You have to fill in the blanks of what they think and sense just enough to make your transcription convincing, while staying within certain bounds to honor what the filmmaker meant to say. SPLICE started as kind of a lark for me, and then almost immediately it became extremely personal; when I was nearing the end of my first draft I thought, "OK, well, I guess everyone is about to find out how insane I am." I was afraid it just sounded "crazy" and wouldn't be what the publisher was expecting. But after I turned it in, the surprise encouragement I got from actual-Vincenzo Natali was pretty amazing, so maybe it's good! Maybe you really CAN'T tell how crazy I am, and it's just very entertaining. You'll have to wait and see.

Parasocial relationships are tricky, huh, especially here on tumblr dot com. The best thing you can do for yourself is just be very aware that they are happening within you, a test you seem to have passed. I think a lot of us come here seeking understanding of our weirdest parts, but the more you put out there to find the people who get what you're saying, you simultaneously get a lot of reminders that most people have no idea what you're talking about. There will be people who seem to hate you because they've misunderstood you, and there will also be people who love you but whose interactions prove that they have absolutely no idea what you're communicating. I recently culled a bunch of followers because they were just creating a lot of noise, even though they may have meant well, and I was losing the clarity I needed to keep doing this. I started to see every post as a worrisome opportunity to find out how poorly people can possibly read me, and suppressing the urge to re-explain myself every day was becoming exhausting. And ironically, around the same time, I was briefly mutuals with one of my favorite bloggers ever, and just as I thought we were becoming chummy, they unfollowed me. I didn't freak out, actually I just unfollowed them back because I was concerned about being annoying, but I did have all kinds of Thoughts about this event. I have spent a lot of time reviewing what my projections were about that person, and what my personal investment in their narrative says about me. I think there could be something good to get out of this audit, even though the whole episode is sort of embarrassing. But Tumblr definitely gives you a lot of opportunities to examine your own filters, clean them out once in a while, and get to know yourself a little better--even if other people seem to be getting to know you a little worse! You just have to stick to your own course and see what comes of it.

Uh. What the hell was I saying. I don't know! But I appreciate your messages, I feel "gotten" by them. Some of the follower upheaval recently did involve the way that I process my experience of my own stupidity out loud on here--like I know that sometimes folks are trying to be helpful by contradicting me whenever I sound "negative" (read: realistic), but being told (by strangers) how to feel about yourself and that you're wrong about your own experiences is actually really awful, confusing, frustrating, and undermining. So I don't mind being reminded that my signal is coming through for at least some people. I hope you're doing good this holiday season. I wonder what beers you had, they sound fun!
