“Oh, I didn’t even think of that! It might not be a bad idea; I’m definitely starting to like playing music even more than listening to it. Maybe if you can get into Muggle territory sometime over the break, we can do a little music shopping? I figure it’s a little hard to get ahold of Muggle stuff otherwise.”
By now, Mitsuki had a vague idea of the kind of music Gladion would like; half of it was too noisy for her taste (although she quite liked the other half), but anything that made him happy was good in her book.
Her brainstorming came to a screeching halt as she felt his hand brush hers and realized that he didn’t pull away. Physical contact was something she’d always happily accepted from anyone she was on decent terms with, but it seemed so out-of-character for Gladion that she still half expected him to pull away at any second.
Even so, she laced her fingers through his (better for her to be rejected than him, after all), giving him a smile that she hoped wasn’t too shy. She was aware that the heat on her cheeks wasn’t from the warming charm, and felt all the more thankful that it was nighttime. With her other hand, she reached into the bag that was lying beside her until she felt Cinnamon’s cheek bump against her palm.
“Yeah…I bet Hogwarts still has lots of things to do that nobody’s gonna show us. There’s lots and lots of things we could try doing, right?” she continued, enthusiasm starting to overtake her earlier hesitation.
“I can only hope to get away this year, Mother,” he spat the title out lips curling slightly before continuing. “Has been keeping an eye on me more than usual. I think she’s suspicious of where I’ve been going as I’ve been blatantly been lying about which houses I’ve been visiting over Yule and summer break.”
Bitting the inside of his cheek he kept his eyes firmly upward staring at the stars up above as a way to distract him. When he felt her fingers intertwined with his own he let out a breathless chuckle, a wide smile cracking his features. It had to be one of the biggest smiles he’s ever remembered having. Maybe, this memory could be the one that would work for his Patronus charm? The thought alone tingest his cheeks red- he was acting ridiculous he should stay focused on this moment right here not his spells!
He laughed fully at the sound of her enthusiasm the very show of it drawing up his own excitement. “I’m sure there’s more to this old castle then what meets the eye. Though there’s more than that, there’s spell works and transformation spells...”
Scooting closer he whispered into her ear, “like becoming an animagus.”
Leaning away he tilted his head to the side in a question, “so have you ever thought of that? I have, though, I’m not quite sure how we can do it. So far I’ve read about two methods, the rest of the books on the subject just talk about how hard it is.” At the mention of the author's complaints, he rolled his eyes, huffing, “if the people that wrote those books spent their time trying as much as they complained then they’d have succeeded by now.”
