chiyo- unicorn, baking cutie mark but idk what specifically, maybe a heart shaped chocolate like the one she made for kaido

underdeveloped wings (like scootaloo obvi)

convinced hes just a late bloomer but hes almost an adult and still cant fly (never will but he doesnt know that)

kokomi- zebra, golden heart cutie mark

couldnt decide if she was a crystal pony or a zebra, decided on zebra

her mark LITERALLY seems to glow golden light, it doesnt actually but.. it really seems that way

ik her being a zebra may not sound like it makes sense because zecora got a bunch of NEGATIVE attention, but HEAR me out okok.. this pony au would be in a modern setting with more diversity and people would focus less on her being a zebra and more on her being beautiful and having such a unique pattern..

zecora is the only zebra we see in mlp so theres no reason to think other zebras couldnt have blue hair, esp in the era of saikis mind control (idk how that would tie into this universe cuz ponies already have crazy colors but shhh) so her hair is prob blue with dark and light stripey highlights

mikoto- griffon

ik she might make more sense as a unicorn but her fortune telling strikes me as more of an.. outside magic ?? like.. she was born with the ability, but its not a physical magical power, its like pinkies pinkie sense!!

so yea i like her as a griffon, its unique and i like the idea of her feathers having a unique pattern around her eyes thats akin to gyaru makeup (see: gilda but make it gyaru esque)

and yes she can still be colorful, we see colorful griffons in the late seasons of mlp

tells people thats his cutie mark because its expensive and hes rich as hell but his special talent is actually MAKING jewelry..

i like the idea of him lying about his special talent so i had to think of something that he could say its cuz hes rich.. i kinda wanted his talent to be baking for some reason but i couldnt think of how that would work

was gonna make his mark something more meaningful but i think its funny if people see it and are immediately scared of him but literally all it means is like he SPEAKS to ghosts, like in the most normal way possible

watching cheerleading videos to study how cheerleaders actually work their bodies when doing stunts (squad routines, elevator preps, flyer-base stunts) and my goodness..........

so like ik that cheerleading stuff isn't what mpgis actually focuses (they keep making fun of the fact that it's not a "real sport" and that they mostly just spell things with their hands and i mean, stop-motion animating barbies doing fucking backflips and cupies would be unbelievably hard to animate!!!!) but like now im really leaning into what their actual dynamic would be when they;re actually doing cheer practice

like obv mackenzie is the top of the pyramid so she'd be the flyer (she's the person who'd be in the air the most in a stunt) as she doesnt want to be anything less than the main attraction of the routine. her being dextrous and laser-focused on whatever she does (bitching people out or cheerleading) is already a given, but also she probs have the best balance out of all the girls and with a strong enough base, can do a successful cupie at her age. Her core strength would be INSANE and honestly, yeah she deserves to have abs

Brittnay is obvs strong asf, so i imagine she'd be a really strong base??? but also she's like flexible (she literally does splits on the ep she's introduced) and the fact she's in control of the microphone and the brawns of the squad, has the biggest stamina of them all. Acrobaddie who could do backbends for days but just doesnt wanna do it. i like to imagine that she's down to be base for mackenzie and can do partner stunts with her, but when the situation calls for it, she's an amazing flyer.

i also often hc Trisha being ditzy but actually one of the more graceful people of their teammates. ofc it's because i hc her as being tall and slim (second tallest to shay), and though not as powerful as brittnay or as focused as mack, i would imagine her to be the most dextrous of them when she's in practice. So altho at first you'd think she wouldn't be a good spotter, she'd have probably caught mackenzie from the air more than brittnay does. even if she can't swim, Trisha would have good body coordination and can do cartwheels from cheer practice.

Shay would obvs be a really good flyer, and altho she's tall, she'd probably be light enough to lift in the air like mackenzie (47KG!!???!!?!) and has learnt a lot from cameron's stunts (tho i dont think cameron was much of a healthy influence when it comes to cheerleading and body image sorry). but she probably hasnt practiced cheerleading as much as the cheer squad has when she joined, so she probably isn't as body-coordinated as the rest and 5 times out of 10 can't stick the landing from the air because of how vertically tall she is (possibly kicked the squad in the neck and face more times from practice than she admits due to how long her legs are). however, she's extremely observant and is equal to trisha when it comes to being an effective base. from s3 we can obviously infer that Shay has really good and sound judgment, and in contrast to mackenzie and brittnay's hotheadedness, her demeanor is cool and level-headed. so her delegations as cheersquad captain would be pretty reasonable (if her ego doesn't get in the way). so she would be a really good coordinator when coming up with routines i imagine, and secretly lets mack have top spot in the pyramid and be responsible for most of the air stunts since she internally knows she cant catch up with mackenzie's athleticness by this point

ANYWAYS that's what ive thought of so far, watch @/Its.ccaylee, @/danielbuyeskeon on youtube, and read a bunch of cheerleading information on google to see where tf the brainworms are coming from

people keep stereotyping cheerleading like theyre for meanly competitive people(and thats prolly true at some capacity idk im very not athletic so idk much dont take anything abt this seriously) but it really opened my eyes on how physically demanding it is and now i can fully appreciate what type of gymnastics actually goes into these stunts like WOW

Tgey met when they were both 8, hoshiko was making a mad dash away from her old orphanage and she jumped a wall and her dress got caught on a point part of the fence and when she ran she fell face first into his back and knocked him over onto the floor and almost got trampled by the other dice members She literally looks up from the ground and sees herself surrounded by a bunch of 7-12 year Olds in creepy clown masks and basically clutches her purse thinking she's gonna be robbed amd starts freaking the fuck out like "DONT TELL THEM I RAN AWAY PLEAXE DONT TAKE ME BACK I DONT WANNA GO!" ans starts spiraling into oblivion while ouma (8) is like stomping his feet throwing a hissy fit over her knocking her over and knocking his mask offMeanwhile some of the older (12 yr old) members are helping separate them hoshiko looks at him and is like oh my GOD he's so cool!?!??! (He isnt) she makes an attempt to ask who they are and gets a response of like "were a SECRET EVIL CRIME GROUP and were SUUUPER BAD so you CANT JOIN US 😡😡" and he makes them all run away, but forgets his silly little mask. Which she grabs and stashes in her bag, then runs after them Once she catches up she basically has been yelling after them for like 10 minutes so her voice is honestly kinda shot and she like whisper screams "you forgot ur scary mask thing!!!!" To which she gets a like begrudging "ugh... thanks :///" because In my opinion ouma is very picky when it comes to friends, it's either love or hate and she hasn't made it on the good list yet so all she was is a stranger who PUSHED HIM!! Her first true friends in dice were 2 of the girls from the dice portrait in v3 (brown hair girl and blonde twintail girl. I named them Mika and Yui.)

She rlly wanted to get along with ouma but he made an effort t9 avoid her for a few days after she joined bc he was still annoyed that she made him trip and look stupid

He kinda started seeing her as a talented liar and a good person to be around when she started showing admiration for him

she proved herself to be a good thief and a pretty good liar so she ended up being the go to for schemes when her and ouma became friends

She has a very codependent personality so she puts like all her trust in him (mistake)

Other members warn her about it but she's already too deep in and starts mirroring his personality until it sets in and they're super similar to each other

Theyre kinda sibling like but they aren't rlly related they just look similar

what exactly did frank iero do. other than problematic tweets that he made in like 2009 (over a decade ago). like people intentionally try to engage with him in a way where he gives them ‘sass’ or rubs them and that’s his brand

Before I get into it, I'm really glad that someone asked about this because I've been meaning to make a post about it. Thanks for asking about it.

I'd recommend checking out @ patheticjunkievampire on Instagram (and possibly twitter? I'm not completely sure if they've said much about it on there) they mostly talk about that incident when frank made a tweet saying smth along the lines of "is you see any accounts saying that they're me reply with "STRANGER DANGER"".

The account he was referring to (patheticvampirejunkie) was literally just posting MCR themed photography- they never claimed to be frank and yet he sent his entire fanbase to essentially harass this person (again, all they did was post photography.)

If you go back and check their first post, a lot of the comments are just "STRANGER DANGER". I know that might not seem like a lot rn but it gets worse.

They posted a lot on their story after they finished the set (I'm not sure what the word for that is. The MCR themed photos they did all counted down from 64 (the beginning) to 1 (the end)) they talked about how the MCR fandom and specifically frank Stans have made their mental health significantly worse than it was when they started posting.

They would post screenshots of interactions they've had with Frank Stans and it's sickening. They received death threats, and messages like "you should kill yourself" and ppl would tell them to cut themselves.

Patheticjunkievampire has also stated before that they've struggles with suicide and self harm in the past, so the fact that these hardcore stans used this against them is sick.

A few people reached out to patheticjunkievampire and told them about experiences they've personally had with Frank. This person gave a platform to people who have had bad experiences with him (ik you cant tell whether someone is a dick or not purely based of some people's experiences, but there were a lot and they were all relatively similar. So to me, these stories that people shared seemed extremely possible since the things he did just suddenly seemed like something he would do.)

The frank stans didn't like that this person was giving a chance for people who had bad experiences with him to express their feelings. They received so much hate for simply saying their opinion.

This all took place on Instagram and Twitter. Obviously depending on what platform you use and engage with MCR content, you're gonna be around different people. The ppl on Tumblr seem way more accepting and open to criticism of their fav band, the ppl on twitter and Instagram are way different.

In my opinion it's kinda weird that frank hasn't really said anything about it. He's literally always online, how tf has he not even heard of any of this??

Another thing I just wanna add (doesn't have anything to do with patheticjunkievampire but I still think it's worth adding) frank sold a bunch of his old stuff. Which isn't inherently bad or anything but...

He was advertising a bunch of old clothes and instruments he had during the MCR era, so he was clearly targeting his fans (his young fans). He was advertising extremely old shitty clothes (that you can find way cheaper literally anywhere else) and he sold them for like X4 (at least) of the original prices. He claimed (for the instruments at least) that he wanted to know that they were being played, because he obviously can't play all those instruments at once.

In that case, if the main reason that he was getting rid of all these instruments... Why didn't he just donate them?? Why did he have to heavily advertise his store to his fans and then sell all his old ratty shitty clothes for such a huge profit? Just doesn't seem ethical to me tbh...

TL:DR

My main problem with Frank is that he, not only, picks on people on twitter, but he makes that kind of behaviour acceptable. By not apologizing or taking accountability for these things, he makes this behaviour (harassment, death threats, cyber bullying, telling ppl to kill themselves or hurt themselves) an okay thing to do. His fans are so toxic and will defend him so much to the point where if you literally just say that you don't like him, they will harass and spam you with really triggering things.

I really hope this clears that up. He's definitely done other things but I couldn't remember them- if anyone has anything else to add please do.

Omg my favourite character is Orion!! The series ended up being an smau for multiple reasons, but if it wasn't one, his presence would be much much more prominent! The title is Oh Baby You after all :) his opinion of Wonwoo and other characters is really important, but unfortunately he doesn't even know what twitter is so he isn't saying much in the smau 😅

As for the most fun character to write, I have to give that and your bonus question to Joshua and Seungcheol! I think their dynamic is so funny and stupid lol

The most challenging are definitely Jihoon and Chan. I wanted characters who did bad things (for plot, y'know?) but I didn't want them to necessarily be bad people. These two and Seungcheol are the characters that are least like their irl inspirations, in my opinion

For the character whose arc I'm most excited to develop, that's gonna have to go to the main man Wonwoo!!! He's finally got his drive back-- it was kinda tedious just writing him moping tbvh

I do not have enough food. And honestly I probably havent had enough food in months. Because instead of eating i sleep. Because my body shuts down. I dont know if i can continue physical therapy. Because it is not guaranteed that i have food. And my parents say that money is tight. But my mother is constantly getting a bunch of stuff. And we have so much shit. And im- i camt handle all of this.

I cant ask for anything without being told that im asking for a lot. My mom ordered in dinner for me and my brother the other night bc she got a thing through work and i asked for what I know would be enough for me and I got told that thats too expensive. Which i understand. The cost of shit is fucking insane. But there is so much fucking focus on cost and portion size and “oh tjat costs too much” “oh youre asking for a lot” “dont forget that this is what a portion size” and even fucking talk of like calories and checking even though i ask for that to not happen.

People tell me to take some of their food because they have plenty and I get it but Im fucking terrified. My mom had locked up a shit ton of food when i was a kid including freezers. Which to this day still have the locks by them. And if im caught she wont hesitate to do it again. I cant go through that again.

I know I cant really get out. Im genuinely scared of my parents. I- cant. I cant get out. I cant leave stuff. Im terrified. Fuck i don’t remember ever not being scared of my mom in some capacity. quite simply there's no real chemistry is the main thing people pick up on? they just put two hot people and say go at it.

and there's also no real...earnestness or care put into them everything is meta and set aware (the marvel effect) so audiences can never fully sink themselves into the narrative. like to all the boys was a ya romcom yes but even adults liked it because it was just something sweet, and earnest and even with the slightly unbelievable plot you fully bought into the world and the characters and it was truly a lightning in a bottle moment even the sequels couldn't replicate. so many of the plots are just...nothing or tired retreads without anything new to say. that's why movies like Lisa Frankenstein are doing so well with audiences because yes its a horror comedy but its also very clearly a romance about two lonely people who had to cross the mortal coil to have each other and related deeply despite being 100+ years and a death apart lol. the girls want connection and romance. the girls also want eroticism? idk why people complain about sex in movies we are the most sexless we've ever been and romcoms kinda...need a sexual aspect even if the leads never touch on screen we need the vibe that they fuck

also just like everything is very...on the nose and of its time in a way thats not very endearing like everything is going to be dated thats how film works its going to be a reflection of the times but I think with rom coms being soooooo aware of the flaws of past romcoms they try to overcorrect the characters don't speak or act like real people its giving twitter hypotheticals "ladies is eating McDonalds in a car a first date" instead of people organically liking each other and going through the ups and downs. no balance of conflict either its either too much or too little.

and visually most things sucks. like extremely bad costume wise, they're just putting people in shein and h&m and calling it a day. nothing strikes us, nothing identifies us with the characters personality or feelings or place in life

lastly like studios aren't giving them the budget or like they aren't being released in theaters its on streaming which seems more accessible but in many ways its not and so many rom coms bombed at the box office bur thrived on the home video market. now things are released to streaming and if its a show its canceled after 2 episodes if its not pulling in 100 billion views and for movies AND shows they're erased from platforms indiscriminately to never be seen again. and romcoms historically were never huge box office hits so studios and services don't care to make them.

okay so back in like March of 2021. i got this message from reni instagram account (which at the time i followed because of her edits, i believe). at this time reni made it seem like she’s never heard of like wattpad or the writing community at all. so i treated her as someone who had no knowledge about it at all.

now speed up to like a month or two. reni does a face reveal. now idk if y’all have ever been on Wattpad but there was this creator by the name of smutbunny-sage. I did not know her fr and didn’t talk to her (but I did interview her i believe). Before I even got to know her she got cancelled and reported. But when I interviewed her, she had this face reveal book. Now at the time I thought I was trippin, because reni and this sage girl looked exactly alike to me (from what I remember). so I was really confused as to why she made it seem like she’s never heard of wattpad or tumblr (or just the writing side of it). but i just brushed it off since I was 100% sure.

now i’m about to post two or three ss that are one of reni old accounts. okay so you cant see the name that she went by. but if you look at these graphics and the ones that reni have done with her themes. they look awfully alike. (also i think one of the icons is one that is in jes post, so it matches up). these ss below are from BEFORE she sent me that message. she was apart of a different friend group that didn’t get along with mines.

also for context the last ss is from when her (she went by something else and we weren’t friends) and one of my friends had a disagreement about their themes on wattpad being similar or lacking credit (with reni being the ones accused). the first one is from of her old accounts where she went by the name brattsmu when i originally dmed her but she later changed it to kazuwinx (again at this time i didn’t know this was sage and we weren’t friends).

okay now back to when reni made it seem like she’s never been on Wattpad or tumblr. i wanted to be nice and invited her to a gc with a bunch of my friends who are writers. just to have her know so people and gain some followers. alright so like a month or so after having her in the gc, I got dmed this by one of the members.

OKAY FIRST OF ALL TECHNICALLY SPEAKING?

it's a webcomic except not really. the way it's written is heavily based on old text-based adventure games, with a few panels with art and everything else written underneath, either from the point of view of a narrator or with chatlogues/dialogues of the main characters the comic also has some animation (or "flashes"), some occasional minigames and RPG-like games and songs, some of which made by toby fox

and yes i'd argue that a lot of things in HS aged poorly or weren't well written from the very start but the songs are literally all bangers. like even if you don't follow homestuck i cant not recommend the songs a LOT of stuff was really a product of its time too. like there's a lot of lolrandom humor, occasional jokes that would likely not fly rn that while can be excused with "these are 13 years olds and also like all them is canonically dealing with internalized homophobia, undiagnosed mental health issues or both" some parts really aged like milk

the entire plot is divided in 7 acts, with sub-acts and intermissions between each one of them to "divide" the story in chapters. like the first one is all "outside" the game the, the second introduces more characters, act 5 is the best one, act 7 is only the final flash to conclude the entire story

...and yes okay the story is, again, about a kid and his friends and a game they play together. basically on the 13th of April 2009 best boy John becomes 13 years old and recieves a game to play with his pals. It's a game that literally alters reality and that, once an item in the game is activated, summons a meteor. just roll with it this is how this universe works. "oh the gang needs to save the world then?" nah lmao the world is literally doomed their goal is to reach worlds spawned from the game, become gods, defeat the final boss and create a new universe

of course however things dont go as planned :)

all of this is explained approximately 1% into the whole story by the way

other than this, the kids are also dealing with a bunch of trolls from another world (the candy corn zodiac dudes), a bunch of NPCs from the game, alternate timelines, the literal goddamn author and lots and lots of death. Like HS is kinda infamous for killing of characters left and right. It has it's own set of rules to keep most of them relevant, like introducing ghosts, "dream" selves, the alternate timelines (Dave especially is SUCH a fun time he gets time-related powers and he gets to see SO many version of him dying :) ) or the whole way death works once the characters become gods, in which they can die only if their death is "just" (so if they were fucked up and evil and their death was justified") or "heroic" (so if they sacrifice themselves to protect someone, basically)

and. yes again homestuck isn't a story to take lightly, reading it requires a LOT of critical thinking, but it honestly has some of the best written kid protagonists I've ever read? Like with some duds of course *cough*gamzee*cough*act6vriska*cough*calliope*cough*, but most of them are really well fleshed out, with lots of flaws and good qualities, funny as hell, and for most of them their traumas and problems are integral part of their character growth - and yes while you get kind of used to see them die over and over have some of them Actually Die is. genuinely shocking and hurts so much?

like again shoutout to Dave but also Karkat because they start off as the "cool kid" and "angry kid" tropes and yet they get so much growth, learning to understand their limits and rationalizing traumas from the past. like the very last scene we get with Dave before the final battle is one of the best written pieces of media I've ever read

First of all pull a death of the author since they're kind of a douchebag and also remember that this started in 2009, likely with no intentions of making it a story as big as it ended up being. I don't think I would recommend HS to someone who "wasn't there" not for gatekeeping but specifically because. It's a product of it's time, and I think that if you finish Act 1 (in which basically nothing important happens, if not putting down the bases of the general tone) and aren't into it you likely won't likei t even when it gets so much better since

yes it's a story with very serious topics that WILL take seriously it's characters, but it's also a story that not only would drop everything from a page to another because the author decided to commit character assassination for his fav but. also one of the plot points is that the main villain of the first half went on a murder spree because he didn't want to dress like a clown. one of the plot points is that insane clown posse and guy fieri became presidents. one of the plot points is that the author has a crush on dante basco and rufio from "hook" is mentioned so many goddamn times. a plot point has buckets being used for reproduction. this is a canon line.
