Haaaha so, the problem is…unless there’s enough fic for me to justify a separate doc to myself, half my WIPs are under shit like [fandom] stuffff or, worse, Untitled Document. On the other hand, some stuff I get optimistic and title properly. My big problem is, I'm pretty okay at ideas--but V terrible at follow through. So um Ymmv

why did you choose your url?

well i grew up on the internet in the early 2010s so i was obsessed with starkid which lead to musical theater in general which lead to dear evan hansen which lead to will roland which lead to be more chill which lead to joe iconis and that hasn’t lead anywhere else because i’m so far up this man’s ass he could tell me to jump and i’d give him 5 million dollars for a bloodsong of love revival. anyway. funny enough it was because i was so up will roland’s ass that i gave joe iconis’ music outside of bmc a chance (back when he tweeted out a thread of joe iconis songs the night before the tonys). and he was right. he has taste even if all i see from him nowadays is globe twitter. anyway. never heard nothing (along with the bar song, try again, and last on land) is the quintessential joe iconis song in my humble opinion. but also my opinion is backed up by joe so. i’ll just let him say it.

yeah this is actually a sideblog. my main is @cockbiteproductions which is personal + rooster teeth. every day i want to throw rocks at mcyt fans but i myself am a rooster teeth fan and so my house is very glass and breakable. and then there’s marvel @sebastianskywalker (can you guess who was excited by the idea of sebastain stan playing young luke? lol). star trek @jimtiberivskirk. star wars @fulcrumahsoka. anime @kvchiki. and that’s the important ones. i use this one and my main the most though. which is already almost not at all these days.

why did you start your blog in the first place?

i was about to say “well my first blog was fandom” and then i realized that applies to literally all of them. so yeah. fandom. i generally make a sideblog when i want to make new fandom friends because none of my current friends are into the thing i am into. it works well.

why did you choose your icon/pfp?

will roland. because will roland. when my bio said “joe iconis and will roland” it wasn’t lying. but anyway i like projecting on characters wrol plays.

why did you choose your header?

it’s off this set lol. same photoshoot as the one from my icon.

lol it’s this shit gifset i made of nik dodani as jared in the deh movie trailer. he actually reposted a video of him scrolling through it on his insta story. which is unfortunate because it looks like shit. i usually have flux on while using any device and i turned it off while making this but i guess my brain is just fucked about it now because it’s 1. way not bright enough 2. way too yellow. ugly as shit.

on this blog? uh i think getting close to 400 idk tho. idc. i just come here to scream about musical theater i rarely care about clout.

famous? on this sideblog? no one lol. not necessarily famous but @nothingunrealistic is probably one of the people that has the most longevity in the deh fandom on here so they have a decent amount of followers from that i assume. @unproduciblesmackdown and @kkamikazed also draw good fucking art so they get clout like that lol. i think @annabelle--cane is also like. decently large? idk. no one in this tiny niche subsection of musical theater tumblr is really tumblr famous though. that’d be a nightmare lol. wait there might be one person i think that’s a sideblog but i can’t remember who lol.

hi connor! i'm sure you've been asked this before but how'd you get into deh and musical theatre in general?

hi!!!

so to start: deh was my introduction into being Really Into musical theatre. i’d been a SUPER casual fan of the show wicked for a few years, but deh was the first musical fandom i’d ever been in?

as for your question: my descent into this musical was sincerely, me appearing in my yt recommended. i watched it and immediately fell in love and spent a good few hours watching deh videos (animatics/lyric vids/meme vids/the like). i, having been exposed to only the Not Spoilery Songs (waving/sincerely me/for forever lol) had very little idea what the plot was about, and i wanted to learn more about the show.

funnily enough, i ended up being drunk when i watched the boot the first time and Really got into the show. even more funnily, i was still drunk when i wrote the first few chapters of jump and sort of solidified my long-lasting interest in the show! it was all a really bizarre set of circumstances but i wouldnt trade it for anything, i don’t think

i actually sort of fell out of touch with the show a while back (due to uh [coughs] dramatics within a few fandom circles) but when my trip to nyc was solidified within the last few months i really got back into it.

and of course, after actually Seeing the show and spending about as much time sobbing as mlb!evan did during the show, i’m back into deh with full force

to what got me into musical theatre though, honestly its probably fan works! in the case of deh i stayed far away from reading fics because i was writing my own fic (which didnt uh. work out for me so well in the end. lol) and got super into scouring the tags for fanart. but for the other shows i got into (namely bmc [rip lost musical comrade], hamilton [actually, this was the first show i ever got super into and wrote for, but we wont mention her], and book of mormon) i had folders with hundreds of images and several gigabytes on my phone dedicated to storing fics and fanart.

this got. very long djcmeickdj but yeah! im Super back into theatre rn (read: im super into deh and bom) so dont expect me to shut up abt either for a while

1. I’m learning spanish! Mostly because I want to get more in touch with my culture and there’s cute girls at my school who only speak Spanish x_x (I’m at about an elementary level)

2. My favorite shows are: Total Drama (its a childhood classic, man) Steven Universe,The Magicians (why isn’t there more fan art? :,l) End of the F***ing World, Camp Camp, and Bojack horsemen (ofc there’s hella more but I don’t wanna make this too long)

3. My music taste is all ova the place, it ranges from Panic! at the Disco, Marina and the Diamonds, Musicals (BMC, DEH, Heathers, more but they’re less popular) Lil peep, and Dodie 💛

4. I’m a very nostalgic person,, catch me in the club hiding in a corner playing Animal Crossing, Pokemon, and Mario Kart on my really shitty DS, silly bandz all the way to my elbowz, just wanting to go home and rewatch old adult swim cartoons (and probably bum a joint off of someone)

5. I play a bunch of dumb PC games that are embarrassing especially at my age lol. Minecraft, Animal Jam, DDLC, Town of Salem, Roblox (I used to build a lot but kinda quit after they broke a lot of the stamper games...) and Toon Town

6. Cats > Dogs sorry man, I have a little chihuahua who loves to poop everywhere and ruin my art,,, L I C C and B O R K at EVERYTHING. Cats are gentle and mine loves to snuggle uwu, I also love hedgehogs, birds, rats, skunks, ALL the underrated animals!!

7. I love art!!! So much!! I’ve been drawing since I picked up my first crayon at 2 and haven’t stopped since, I mostly post them on Instagram cause the art community here is kinda,,, uhh mean?? ;_; DM me if you want my username tho! I’m also more active on there than here

8. I still haven’t decided what I want to be when I grow up?? I don’t even know if I’m gonna make it another year but my career choices would be Animation, Writer (if you couldn’t tell already. When I’m finished im gonna see what the word count is) Game developer, Actor, Architecture, or something to do with Psychiatry, to help people who have to deal with the same problems as mine

Hey! I'm thinking about starting a blog for writing deh x reader fics and such but I'm not sure how to start, any tips?

im probably not the absolute best person to come to for advice about starting a blog for writing fics because this is my main blog and i didnt make a blog specifically to write fics but i’ll try my best bb!!i guess coming up with a name can literally be anything? like, you get people who have urls inspired from actual things from the show (sincerlyyme, waving-at-failed-words, connormurphyisbab, earlyjunes, ect.) which i would kind of suggest since it gives people the idea that you’re a deh writer. but you don’t have to - since there’s people like grace (bi-as-july-4th) and maia (imdedicatingeverydaytoyou) and mackie (protecting-my-legacy) who are all extremely talented and are known for their content. it’s really up to you honestly! plus there’s the fact that you can still write for multiple fandoms if u want, but choosing a url that’s like sincerlyyme or like mine will kind of give people an image of what you write. alli gets lots of deh-related stuff, while a lot of my asks come from stuff relating to be more chill (as in, a lot of the stuff in my drafts are bmc-related except for 3 headcanons)tl;dr: ur url can be literally anything u want honestlyfor actually starting your blog, i guess i can say - feel free to befriend other blogs? like, if you’re comfortable with asking someone ‘hey can u give me a shoutout’ then go for it! plus a lot of us are friendly nerds who would be glad to talk to you :0 plus we can bounce ideas or joke around about fics sometimes which is cool tbhuh… i guess theme-wise, go for something thats really nice and readable? honestly if u want theme suggestions just lemme know what you want and i’ll go dig for some nice themes for you! like, you don’t want rly rly tiny text tbh because that makes it hard to read for desktop users. again, feel free to ask me about themes in another ask and i can go digging :0actual writing-related stuff now. i guess don’t be afraid to reject any requests that u either don’t wanna write or just??? don’t get ideas for? since it’s literally ur choice whether ur gonna write a request tbhuhh.. i guess also don’t be afraid to do something that’s been done since we all have different writing styles and we all focus on different parts of different things. an example that i can come up with off the top of my head is the fact that there’s multiple fics where connor and the reader are in heathers as JD and veronica. it’s practically all based off of the same idea, but the fact is all the fics are written differently and they all portray characters differently and so forth.idk what else to say tbh because i dont really know the whole experience of starting a blog just for writing since i literally just posted my first deh x reader fic on here since i didnt think it would get attention and bam there’s people????i guess another tip is just to have a writing tag?? or at least a tag u can go back through and find stuff since putting together a masterlist of writing is a good idea tbh and tagging all ur stuff as something like ‘my fics’ or ‘____ writes’ or whatever. it’s rly useful tbh(also having a masterlist is rly useful for people like me who just go onto blogs and randomly read and reread writing instead of sleeping but i’ll also search ur writing tag because im desperate for stuff to read so) uh if anyone else has some advice feel free to reblog and add on??? or if anyone wants to say ‘tris, no, that was dumb - here’s what u should do, anon” then 100% go for itbut if any of this helps u anon, then im glad!:0 feel free to message me anytime with about your blog tbh!!!
