The Wannabe-Photographer Chronicles (mini-series) Masterlist
Tumblr media
“I already told you I’m not posing for nudes, asshole. Is the one you took of me not enough for you? Hmm?”
Taehyung grinned as he popped out the flip screen on his camera. “I don’t want to take photos of you. I want to film you.”
He was such a piece of shit. He really was. Since your ridiculous entanglement with Taehyung during Hoseok’s birthday party, Taehyung hadn’t left you alone. It was worse than before; he suddenly believed fucking him gave him a free pass to get on your nerves even more than he had to begin with.
You hated it and you hated him. That was all there was to it.
Crossing your arms against your chest, you glared at the man as he fiddled with the camcorder. This was infinitely worse than the film camera debacle. You didn’t even want to consider what he’d done with the photo of you cumming on his fingers. The thought of him having it made you shiver.
“Film me doing what?” You immediately regretted the question when it left your lips and Taehyung’s eyebrows shot up. The smug, shit-eating grin on his face was almost unbearable.
“Well, babe-”
“Do not call me that.”
“Well, Y/N.” He gave you a pointed look. “I need to diversify my portfolio and the only thing I’m missing is erotic art.”
You scoffed and crossed your legs. At this point, you were a pretzel sitting on the edge of Taehyung’s couch. “You’re disgusting.”
“Thank you,” he said with a sweet smile. “But I promise what I have planned isn’t as ‘disgusting’ as you probably think.”
You didn’t trust him for shit, but you liked the idea of hearing what he had to say even if only to shut him down. You were looking for every reason to shit on his massive ego, maybe because you were embarrassed that you gave in to him when you said you wouldn’t.
It was a fluke, though. A moment of bad judgment. You were thinking with your pussy. But not anymore. Nope.
Fool me once, shame on you.
“What are your twisted little plans then, TaTa?” You shifted slightly when Taehyung moved to sit down next to you on the couch, forcing you up against the arm of the couch and giving you very little room.
“Have you ever done a striptease before?”
“I fucking told you I am not doing nudes.”
Taehyung swiftly grabbed your jaw and turned your head to face him. The forced action made you gasp quietly, just enough to release a breathy sound when you exhaled. He watched you for a moment with the tip of his tongue pressed against the inside of his cheek. “Fucking listen to me, yeah?”
You could do nothing but nod, your eyes glued to his parted lips.
“I don’t need you to be naked. I just need some shots of you taking off your clothes.” You opened your mouth to protest, but Taehyung squeezed your jaw tighter. “Headless shots, okay? Nothing identifiable. No nudity. Think of it as like an OnlyFans teaser, but make it hipster. Slap on a grainy, sepia filter. Or maybe a soft pink glow. I haven’t decided yet.”
You were barely listening to him, most of your focus on how his hand had slowly let go of your face and migrated down to your throat. Your heartbeat spiked beneath his fingers.
“Why are you asking me to do this?”
Taehyung pulled away and returned to examining his camera settings. “Everyone I know who’d be down to do this would try to fuck me. Considering the theme, and everything. It would be so distracting.” He looked up at you through his fluffy bangs with a sparkle of mischief in his eyes. “You’re hot and would never fuck me, as you’ve made very clear.” He paused for a moment, tapping his finger against his lips. “Well, not a second time.”
And there was that stupid fucking boxy grin again.
“Oh shut the fuck up.” You were tired of playing games. “How much are you going to pay me?”
“Depends on how good the shots are.”
“Whatever. Let’s get this over with,” you huffed.
Taehyung hummed in acknowledgment but didn’t make a move to get up. His fingers brushed along the outside of your thigh until he reached the waistband of your leggings. You fought the urge to squirm in your seat, instead doing your best to mindfully breathe and keep your fists squeezed against the couch cushions.
“What are you wearing under here?”
“Wouldn’t you like to know?” You challenged him through gritted teeth.
Taehyung leaned forward until his breath caressed the side of your face. “I’m about to find out.”
With that, Taehyung stood up and held his hand out for you to take. You swatted him away, perfectly capable of getting up on your own and following him into his bedroom. To say his bedroom looked like a porno setup was no exaggeration. A large studio light stood in the corner, the head pointed toward the bed. Another camera sat on a tripod on the opposite side of the room, though it was pointed away from the bed. LED lights wrapped around the high ceilings cast the room a soft lavender glow.
“Are you kidding me?” You stood in the doorway with your hands on your hips.
Taehyung rolled his eyes. “Do you see how small my apartment is? I have nowhere else to store my equipment when I’m not using it. Relax and come here.”
Grabbing you by the shoulders, Taehyung positioned you in front of a standing mirror that stood against the wall directly across from his bed. He took a step back to examine your placement, making a few adjustments until he got you where he wanted you.
“Satisfied?” Your skin was tingling from his firm touch as he shuffled you around. It was just your body reacting to skin-on-skin contact. That was all. It was just… nature. Science. Whatever.
“Very,” he said with a wink that you did a poor job of brushing off. The burning heat of embarrassment creeping up your body only intensified as you watched Taehyung sit at the foot of his bed. With his camcorder in hand, he leaned back far enough to get the angle he wanted. It was harmless, really. He was just a struggling artist trying to make his mark in the world, that’s all. And you were half-heartedly helping him.
So if that was the case, why was watching Taehyung’s biceps flex as he held the camera and his thighs spread making you wet?
You cleared your throat and looked away from the man splayed out on his bed like he was the one being filmed, not you. “What am I supposed to do now?”
Taehyung reached up to run his fingers through his hair and flip his bangs to the side. All you could think about was how you knew tugging on those wavy strands would make him moan.
“Start with your shirt. Wait, no, not like that.”
You had one arm out and froze. “Like what?”
“Do it sexier.”
“What the fuck does that mean?”
“Oh, come on. Stop relying on that silver tongue and seduce me.”
Was it possible to feel like all your blood had drained out of your body and that all the blood in your body had gone to your head?
“Fine,” you snapped, readjusting your shirt. The positive side to all of this was that as you slowly lifted your shirt over your head, you could revel in the fact that you knew Taehyung wanted you and he could never have you.
Well, never again.
But maybe that made it even better. He got a taste and you were denying him more. You had all the fucking power!
You put in a little more effort to be sensual as you let your shirt fall to the floor. The red lace bra you wore lifted up a bit, exposing the underside of your tits, but you didn’t move to fix it like you normally would. Instead, you ran your hands over your exposed skin, even your own light touches causing goosebumps to form all over. It didn’t help that it was cold in Taehyung’s apartment. You wondered how high quality his camera was. If it was even half decent, it would pick up on how see-through the fabric was over your tits. It left little for the imagination, but Taehyung had already had your nipples in his mouth.
The little asshole was leaned back again, shifting slightly to capture your best angles as you reached for the waistband of your leggings. You made the mistake of looking at his face rather than the camera lens. His tongue swept over his bottom lip as you slid your leggings down; you quickly looked away.
This was just a favor. A favor for an art project. That was it.
Bending at the waist meant you exposed the fact that you were wearing a rather skimpy thong - red lace, just like your bra. Adjusting your stance made your thighs rub together and you fought the urge to look down for fear that your underwear would be stained a dark red from how wet you were.
A quiet groan from the bed made you look up at your photographer once again. His bottom lip was bitten between his teeth, but he immediately released it when he saw you looking. The two of you locked eyes as your bodies froze.
“Why are you fucking wearing red lace?”
You opened your mouth to speak but your brain couldn’t think of any response aside from the truth. And there was no way you were telling him the truth. There was no way you were telling Taehyung that you’d worn a matching set just in case something happened. Because nothing was supposed to happen.
Instead, you deflected.
“Why are you hard right now?”
You both looked down at the very prominent bulge that had grown in Taehyung’s jeans. He used his free hand to palm his cock and attempt to adjust it into a more comfortable position.
“Why are you wet right now?”
Now it was your turn. You finally dared to look at yourself, not surprised but still horrified to find your arousal soaking through the flimsy material of your thong.
Taehyung lifted slightly so he was propped up on his elbows, the camera still positioned on you. You really prayed he wasn’t planning to use any audio for this video. Like as if that’s what mattered at the moment.
“You’re so into this,” he said smugly.
“No, I’m not.” Your rebuttal was weak, so weak it felt foreign coming from someone with a “silver tongue” like you. But when you watched Taehyung get up from the bed, your rebuttal wasn’t the only thing about you that was weak.
“You’re not?” Taehyung pointed the camera toward your thighs as he reached down to press his thumb against your clit through your thong. You let out a shaky moan and felt more of your arousal soak your thong. “Sounds like you are. Feels like you are.” Taehyung fully palmed your pussy, pressing his fingers against your entrance. The action made your legs tremble and you squeezed his bicep for support.
“Fuck you,” you hissed and dug your nails into his skin.
“Heard that one before.” He shot you a wink. “And to think you got mad about the photo I took of you. If I’d known you’d get this wet for me so quickly, I would have brought this with me instead.”
His taunting reminded you of the camcorder he still held in his hand. It was pointed downward as Taehyung hooked his finger into the waistband of your thong and pulled it down just enough for his fingers to dip inside your wet folds.
“Taehyung,” you moaned when he thrust two fingers inside of you. The squelching sound your pussy made was sure to have been picked up by the camera.
“Yeah, baby? You like that?” He pressed hard into your front wall repeatedly, the fluttering sensation making you reach for his shoulder with your other hand to stabilize yourself. “Like being my little movie star?”
You wanted to cry when he pulled his fingers out of you, and your entire body shuddered when you felt him wipe his fingers on the inside of your thigh. The worry that he was only going to tease you to rub the whole thing in your face flashed into your mind, but it was quickly squashed once Taehyung was pressing the camera into your hands.
“Like this.” He positioned you to point the camera downwards.
“Wha-”
Ignoring your confusion, Taehyung dropped to his knees, dragging your thong down your thighs as he went. The camera shook in your hands as he threw one of your legs over his shoulder. You could have came just from the way he looked up at you from between your thighs. How many times had you imagined this moment? More than you were willing to admit. And for all the fantasizing, you were lucky that it was even better than what you could have come up with on your own. He brushed his bangs out of the way and tilted his head so you had a clear view of his face as he ran his tongue flat against your lips.
“Oh fuck,” you moaned.
Taehyung reached up to grab your hand, stabilizing the camera. “Hold still for me, okay baby? You gotta hold still.” When he spoke his lips brushed against your skin, causing your arousal to stick in thin strings to his glistening mouth.
Once your shaking subsided, Taehyung’s hands slid down to grab your ass. With his grip on you tight, he pulled you against his mouth. A hard suck to your clit made your hands tremble. By the time Taehyung began swirling the tip of his tongue around your clit in tight circles, you were shaking again. He had to reach up to hold your hand to stabilize the camera again.
“I-I-I can’t,” you began to sob and shake your head. You had to wrap your fingers in Taehyung’s waves to focus the pressure of your building orgasm into something other than squeezing the fuck out of the camera in your other hand. Of course, each tug of his hair made Taehyung’s lovely baritone voice moan into your pussy, the vibrations pulsing through every nerve in your body.
“Yes, you can.” The words came out breathy and hoarse in between hard sucks and kitten licks against your clit. You were close to believing in his faith in you until he slipped two fingers into your soaked pussy.
“I’m…” You paused to suck in a deep breath as he pumped a mind-numbingly fast rhythm against your g-spot, “I’m gonna fall over.”
“Nuhh uhh.” Taehyung scooted forward, pushing you backward until your back hit the mirror.
You leaned against the mirror for support as your orgasm ripped through you so violently you would have dropped the camcorder if it weren’t for Taehyung holding it up with you. He kept his eyes focused on you as he licked one final stripe up your lips, cleaning up your arousal until he was the one messy with it all over his face.
“God, I wish you’d let me record your face when you cum,” Taehyung groaned into the back of his hand as he wiped his mouth. He reached out to take the camera from you and laughed at the way your hands shook. “You have no idea how fucking beautiful you look.”
You should have been upset. Taehyung now had footage of himself eating your pussy. Sure, no one would be able to tell that it was you, but still… That was something very intimate.
Yet you couldn’t deny the way your heart fluttered when he’d called you his movie star. Hearing “beautiful” come tumbling from his filthy lips wasn’t too bad, either.
“No chance in hell, creep.” You crossed your arms against your chest to punctuate the statement. You didn’t have a chance to say anything more; Taehyung quickly shut you up with his lips slotted against yours. You allowed him to lick at your mouth and swirled your tongue against his, humming at the taste of yourself on him.
“Always so difficult.” He tossed the accusation at you as he pulled away. Using his free arm, Taehyung scooped you over his shoulder. “Y’know, the meaner you are to me the more I want to rearrange your guts.”
You let out a gag as Taehyung tossed you onto the bed, bouncing into place in the middle. “You did not just say that.” Whatever else you wanted to insult him over died on your lips as you watched Taehyung strip.
“Come on, Director. Take a video. It’ll last longer.”
He gestured to the camera still recording as he unbuttoned his jeans, his taunting parallel to how harsh you’d been to him at Hoseok’s party. You were mean to him, but only because he could take it. And maybe, just maybe, you had the hots for getting him riled up, just as he did for you.
It felt unbelievably dirty recording Taehyung as he stood at the end of the bed with his thumb rolling precum around the tip of his cock, but something about it made your pussy flutter to life once again. It didn’t help that he shot the camera a wink as he did one final pump before he was kneeling on the bed in front of you.
“Turn around,” he commanded, twirling his finger around to direct you.
“I liked you better when you were crying and begging for me like a good boy.”
You glowered at him as you turned around. Taehyung’s hand quickly came down to press down your back, forcing your upper body into the mattress and keeping you on your knees. He spread you out as far as he could, the mattress muffling a groan when you felt him hook a finger in your pussy just to make you shake.
“I can still be a good boy for you like this,” he whispered against your skin as he bent down to kiss along your spine. You shivered in response, biting your tongue to keep in your moans as you felt Taehyung swish his cock around your slickness. “But since you don’t want me documenting your gorgeous face, your fat ass will have to do.”
Before you could snort another insult towards his disgusting behavior, Taehyung sunk his cock so slowly you could hear the gushing sound when he bottomed out.
“Fuck, you sound so good, fuck.” Taehyung moaned as he began thrusting into you, each wet slap of his hips colliding with your ass fueling his desire to speed up.
You twisted around to watch him lift the camcorder to the perfect angle to capture the way your pussy sucked him in with ease, each pullback evidence of how tightly you gripped him. Throwing your dignity to the wind, you decided to play the part. Hooking your legs with his, you ground against him as he thrust into you, forcing your bodies against each other even harder as you established an equal rhythm.
“Shit, just like that,” Taehyung moaned, removing his hand from your waist and leaning back slightly to let you take over. “Fuck yourself on my cock, baby. Fuck, yes.”
“Touch me, Tae.” As much as it was a moan, it was most definitely a demand.
And like the good boy he promised to be, Taehyung quickly brought his free hand around to play with your clit. The stimulation was enough to push you over the edge a second time, and you’d be lying if you said you didn’t purposefully scream a little bit louder than necessary just because you were on camera now. If Taehyung knew, he seemed to not care.
If anything, it made him even more vocal. And maybe he was putting on his own show because instead of releasing inside of you, he quickly pulled out of you to pump his cum all over your ass.
“Y/N…” Taehyung slowly got up from the bed to get a washcloth to clean you off. You tilted your head to watch him, smug with the satisfaction of seeing that he wobbled a little bit as he walked. Even his hands shook when he worked to clean you up.
“What?” You sat up once he was done, wincing at the slight ache of your thighs from how hard he’d pounded into you.
Taehyung sat on the edge of the bed with the dazed look of a man who’d just gotten the soul fucked out of him. “I think I’m in love with you.”
You snorted, but Taehyung leaned forward to cup your face.
“I’m so serious right now.”
“You’re just fucked out.”
Taehyung pouted, eyebrows deeply creased. “This is post-nut clarity. I know what I’m about.”
You couldn’t help but laugh at the seriousness of his expression, especially as he sat with his softening cock and his messy hair, cheeks and lips still pink. It was so unbelievably endearing and you fucking hated it.
“This isn’t funny, Y/N.”
All along, your (alleged) goal was to damage Taehyung’s ego. And now that you had the opportunity to, the little creep was tugging at your heartstrings in a way you hadn’t expected at all.
“You don’t have to love me back,” he said with a sigh. “I just needed to get it off my chest.”
Reaching for his hair, you tugged Taehyung mid-moan into a slow kiss that meant less about being sexy and more about taking away the stressed look on his face. Your fingers skirted along his jaw, holding him in place as you deepened the kiss.
“You’re an asshole, you know that?” You kept a hold of his hair even after you broke the kiss.
“Yes, thank you.” Taehyung grinned and you felt your stomach flutter once again.
Pulling him close, you pressed your lips against the crook of Taehyung’s neck. The feeling of his strong arms holding you close made you tremble. “You’re lucky I’m into guys who are assholes.”
Maybe it wasn’t the “I love you” someone else would expect, but Taehyung understood you better than you knew.

Young!Samuel Seo with Young!Reader: Dragons
G/N. You're both not so young anymore. Standalone, but takes place in convenience store AU - basically childhood friends and your family owns a store: Leave him be | Dinner Guest | Doctors and Patients | Baby
Tumblr media
"Do you remember when we used to pretend to be dragons?" You smile at Samuel, wistful and caught in a daydream.
You remember when your and Samuel's feet dangled from this very bench, legs not long enough to reach the floor. Watching the changing of seasons from this spot.
Now Samuel’s feet are planted on the ground, his body dwarf yours and his eyes hold secrets you don’t know.
He huffs a small breath of laughter. Wisps rises from his lips, just like all those other times before, and then is gone forever. Carried away into the frigid air.
There's a hint of stale smoke and awkwardness that never used to be.
Only yesterday it seems that Samuel hit you in the face with a snowball and you cried. Mouth open wide like a black hole and even wailing, you called out his name. Not accusatory, never. Always seeking comfort and he always gave in to you. That time was no different.
Yet the days blur past, as do the weeks and years.
What once was routine, taken for granted - the daily store visits, playing together in the cramped aisles; the sleepovers in your living room under shared blankets, watching films and movies and playing games side by side - dwindled.
From all the time to half the time to some.
Samuel used to give you his evenings and weekends and everything in between. Now you have his once in a blue moon.
Only dropping by when he isn't tending to Gangseo Union or whatever other delinquent interests he has, when he's not occupied with whatever troublesome company he keeps.
At some point he outgrew you, his dreams growing wild and ambitious.
The awkwardness lingers. You think it's always there now. You don't know how you fit with him anymore-
At some point, Samuel set his sights on a new goal. No longer happy with contentment and peace. You don't fit in his new world, shouldn't fit in.
But he will gladly carve out a place for you, just like how you carved out a place for him.
Hold it sacred and precious, guard it with everything, even if you don't intend to ever take it.
He knows spending time with you, visiting, hearing the ding of the outdated till, hanging out under the same buzzing fluorescent lights is no use to who he is anymore. Might be a hindrance more than a help.
Except he returns time and time again. No matter how hardened his edges, how reinforced his defences, he cannot leave you behind.
Even as you drift apart, despite being inches from each other, touching distance-
"I remember," Samuel says.
It's true. He revisits those fond memories, sepia toned and filtered with nostalgia almost every night. You were his shelter. A sanctuary from his nightmares.
He rests his hand on the small of your back as you walk side by side. Steadying you, guiding you, maybe bringing you back to him, maybe recapturing the magic that once was.
(Maybe that never left.)
Breaths, yours and his, in sync and like dragonfire - mingle, irrevocably intertwined; leaving behind the faintest trail.

Hello and good day imiging team! I'd like to point out that the work of petitmonsieur1 that you reblogged recently is not photography, but an AI-generated image. Thus it can not be categorized as original photography on account of it not involving a photographer, a camera and a subject.
I know you caption your reblogs with "daily original photographs and creations", so I guess it still counts as some form of a creation. Although the rest of your reblogs are actual photography, not what petitmonsieur1 is doing.
You'll notice that their creations are entirely digitally created by taking a closer look. Skin, metal, and cloth appear way too smooth, the background is sepia like from a painting, icons and writings are indecipherable. They've even uploaded videos showing how they mess with the creation process, either by adding skeleton makeup to a person (who is posing exactly the same in both frames) or moving a person's head, covered in a knit wool ski mask, up and down from their scarf like a piston. To me those are clear indicators that their creations are not authentic as the photos, paintings and art you showcase here.
With this I hope you at the very least consider removing petitmonsieur1 from the pool of your following. One can argue whether AI-art is art, but since the focus of your page is on photography, that really doesn't have a place here.
Thank you for receiving my input. Kindest regards!
As we are obviously unable to answer directly to this anonymous expert in AI, our response is outlined below.
Dear anonymous,
You will, undoubtedly, be disappointed to learn of our disavowal of your "expertise" in this particular instance as we wish to inform you that AI was not involved in the creation of this image. As we had reservations about your claim and explanations of same, we deemed it patently obvious that our first step should be to direct ourselves to the creative source. Therefore, we messaged Petitmonsieur in order to determine exactly his process and his medium. His response was clear : "I mainly use photos, old paintings, wallpapers...and I crush the pixels as much as possible to obtain a painting effect. If I used AI, the rendering would be of better definition. In fact, I'm tinkering with Photoshop, and I find that the AI stereotypes the images too much."
Upon viewing this particular photo we were, of course, unaware of the creative process (other than what the tags indicated) but we found it to be interesting and quite striking at first sight which resulted in it being chosen.
Furthermore, one might ask, what exactly defines a true photograph these days especially in the world of digitization? With the advent of digital cameras and advances in photography software (Photoshop, Lightroom, etc.) how many of these photographs, including those that started life as a film negative, use some form or other of "digitization" in the making of the final product?
AI is just another step (granted a large one) in that direction and not really so much different than using a "dehaze" or "clarity" filter in Lightroom, Healing Brush Tool in Photoshop or DeNoise AI, to name but a few of the tools used by a growing number of photographers. Even film can be "manipulated" in the darkroom or made into a digital negative and then reworked on a pc. These are all tools used to enhance the artistic aspects/creation of a great number of photographs which are regularly posted and reblogged on the Tumblr platform. (Our apologies to those of you that shoot raw and only post unedited photographs -- we love them too!)
At Imiging, our shared opinion on AI is that it has the potential for making the unreal appear real and believe it has numerous other risks and drawbacks. We have to say that it truly alarms us if only for no other reason than the obvious geo-political implications when AI is used by unscrupulous individuals or governments for nefarious purposes.
Sincerely,
The Editors of imiging

Italian Neorealism’s Influences on Goncharov
Winter is coming to Naples.
Sure, Goncharov is a Russian/Italian fusion movie partially because Italy has such a mafia presence, and that’s the main plot, but also because the combination of Italian and Russian cultures allows for such a great evolution of the Italian Neorealism art style.
While admittedly, Goncharov’s actors are not randos off the street (this whole saga has reminded me that Pacino has 2 Tony awards and De Niro has a Presidential Medal of Honor. wild!), the movie shares the Neorealistic focus of those on the down and out, or on the fringes. Sure, traditionally, it was more the ‘poverty’ side of the down and out, but if we look even farther back to, say, poetic realism, then we see a criminal element.
Scorsese is a man who loves an excellent almost Greek tragedy, a true fatalistic plot where no one gets out alive. No one exits the rooftop in his The Departed and Goncharov is an earlier look at his belief that everything comes to a head at ultimate bloodshed. Likewise, in the Italian Neorealism classic Bicycle Thieves, one of Scorsese’s favorite foreign films (https://www.huffpost.com/entry/martin-scorsese-foreign-film-list-colin-levy_n_1382131), there’s no escaping the savage destitute poverty.
Aesthetically, though, is where the Russian influence of Goncharov really elevates classic Italian Neorealism. It’s not only the cold but also the bleakness of the motherland that’s coming to Naples. Italy in 1973 much farther from Mussolini and its realistic period than Russia is from its continuing stagnation under Brezhnev. So we see those cold grey tones and dreadful sepia filters almost follow Goncharov and Andrey out of St Petersburg to reinforce, in the visuals, that decay, the lack of upward motion not available to our protagonists or the Italian ones of Bicycle Thieves.
The down and out, mean themes of Italian Neorealism iterated on with bleak Russian visuals. Chef’s kiss (pun intended)

Lookin' at you, Paper Shoot
A Non-Technical Review
Tumblr media
I most recently started using Paper Shoot's 16MP camera. It is something that just makes sense with my current lifestyle. Previously, I was shooting mainly with instant film and it was just too much equipment to lug around once I had my kid.
That being said, the Paper Shoot Camera may not be the right camera for you. So I thought I would give you my honest take on the camera, as well as the company as a whole. So here goes...
The Camera
The camera shoots 16MP. There was an older version of this camera that shot in 13MP. And they recently released an 18MP version (mine is on order). This review and opinion is solely based on the 16MP version. I have yet to experience the other models.
The camera comes with 3 filters in addition to its' default setting (color). Black and white, green (sepia tone), and blue (cool tone).
Tumblr media
It also has time lapse and video capabilities (comment or shoot me a message if you want to know more about these functions). You may also purchase 4 separate lenses for the camera. It runs on 2xAAA rechargable batteries (not included).
My Take
I think my favorite element of the Paper Shoot camera, may be what some would find annoying or disheartening: The inability to preview the photo.
Yes, this camera has a viewer to help assist with lining up the shot. However, it is literally an open square cut out of the case. At most, it will help you ensure your framing isn't crooked. But without a working viewfinder, it takes a lot of time and practice to figure out the range of this camera. Without that preview, you may take a shot that you think is beautiful, only to find that it's hideous when finally view it.
I truly love this because it's harkens back to shooting on film. You never knew what you would find in the darkroom. You might have shot an entire roll of film, only to find one useable shot. The nice thing with Paper Shoot is, because you're actually shooting on digital, you may take multiple photos without waste. If you're not sure you correctly framed the shot, take like... 5 more photographs. One of those has to be good... right?
The black and white filter is probably my favorite. The images give me all the feels of old 35MM B&W photography. I know that I can literally change any digital photograph into a black and white shot using editing software. But it's always felt like cheating to me. When I was a kid, you either bought color or black and white film. You didn't get to change it at the press of a few buttons.
With Paper Shoot, you switch the camera over to black and white (yes, I realize you're pressing a button to make this happen), and your shots are all B&W right from the get-go. Your photo is shot in one or the other. There is no changing the photograph back to color if you don't like how the image turned out. In other words: No required post editing.
Tumblr media
The downside with these filters, you have to play around with them a lot to really understand them and what lighting they look best being used in. The sepia filter may look great right now, but if the lighting changes drastically in an hour, the blue filter may look better. If I'm not sure, I find myself taking multiple shots of the same subject, just switching the filter in between.
The overall ease of use is wonderful. It's literally a point and shoot. The build is light weight, so it's comfortable to take with you everywhere. I recommend getting a wrist strap because when I'm taking a lot of photos, I like to keep it close.
Another point you need to be aware of with this camera, specially if you are new to the whole, lo-fi photo scene: You are purchasing a camera from a company that prides itself on the aesthetic of its' photos. It's not going to be a detailed exposure. Some have described this product as a, "toy camera." Well, yeah. If you compare it to the new Leica or Nikon, Paper Shoot doesn't even compare. But that is the entire point. It's not meant to take precision sports shots, or crystal clear astro-photographs. This camera is in its' own category of digital photography.
The photographs you get will not be an exact photo-copy of what you see or what has happened. I think of the photographs as more of a recording of a memory. Like when you think back on old family movies. They are never crystal clear. But you are usually able to get a very specific feeling from watching those videos. This camera recreates those feelings.

The Company
Customer service, A+! I dealt with their customer service just this morning, which is what prompted this post. I ordered their 18MP model this morning. I went on auto pilot when doing so and accidentally put the incorrect address for shipping. I immediately emailed them and asked them if they could change it. They did this in a timely manner, and sent a response to my original email explaining the process. This kind of customer service is something that sets them apart from big box companies. I hope they never fall behind in this area.
Besides that, they are a highly eco-friendly company. In short, they are attempting to replace the one-time use film camera, by maintaining simplicity, while upping the sustainability game. I will let you read more about this on their site directly (Paper Shoot Story).
The long and the short of it...
This camera is as simple as it can get. You literally can just point it and shoot. Yet, certain aspects, do make you have to think a little bit more. Mainly when framing the shot. But overall, it's pretty fun.
Is this run down completely biased? Yup.
I love this camera. You will love it too if you are pro-lo-fi-photo, want to help the environment, and okay with sometimes flubbing the shot. If you're looking for a point and shoot camera that is highly accurate, you may want to keep moving.
_________________________________
I am completely non sponsored. This is all my personal opinion. I plan on giving a shorter, more specific review on the 18MP model once it's delivered and I'm given some time to play with it. Supposedly there are several new capabilities that the 18MP has, but you have to purchase separate function cards for these. I did get one card for double exposures that I am very excited to try out. I love double exposure photographs, and can't wait to play with it in a digital format. I will attempt to purchase more next go-around. I just couldn't bring myself to spend more money than necessary with Christmas and a family vacation around the corner.

Swift.
Incorporating electricity into cameras is actually a fairly recent invention, happening in 1975. (approximately 42 years ago)
The camera inside the studio is (allegedly) a daguerreptype (invented in 1839) which in order to capture a clean image required people to stand still for several minutes (20 min and then 20 seconds much later) and are commonly sealed inside expensive metal and glass. But that isn't actually with the framing of the image suggests as you're able to use complicated poses. Also require a Very Old Man to engage in poisons such as Cyanide and Mercury. So it instead is suggesting a film type camera (The Kodak 1888) which uses a paper like medium in which where when people want to add color they will literally add color by painting on top of it. A far less expensive endeavor which could lend to the design of what laverton has.
I'm just going to stop right there. I'm also not an expert. I just trifle in photography. If you want to know more just ask
None of this actually matters to anything as YOU have spiked real world time in the ground. ( a Pokemon helped invented this photo but it's a mystery to everyone on what was the type of said Pokemon and that's the lore I'm willing to subscribe for because nothing makes sense otherwise.)
Except the true purpose is for delicious angst for PC~
If film is being used the photos would be incredibly volatile and can be destroyed easily. You think humidity happening on books are bad? Without proper care these things will not last 50 years and sure shit ain't going to last thousands even with proper care. Also far less detail.
If daguerreptype: the image is the image. There is no copy of the image. the images are in fact one of a kind. Far more durable but 3,000 years? Nah.
Having said that it's probably far too Bleak of an outcome. So let's just have Ingo just painstakingly retaking pictures of his previous pictures and just hope that a flood doesn't happen to destroy everything.
Pictures are worth a thousand words and that would be heartbreaking to him.
-Cam
i would just like to say. in my defense. i knew cameras weren't electricity based until very recently. i specified electric types because i was actually thinking of the move flash, which i mistakenly thought was an electric type move. which it is not. so i was wrong about trivia but in a totally different way. i also don't think flash would necessarily help with inventing photography either. what was i imagining when i made that post? the world may never know. i think i was imagining amplifying the effects of a camera obscura but flash wouldn't necessarily help with that either. it also wouldn't help with fixing the images. i also stand by my reassessment that it would be poison types that actually helped with their invention. some hypothetical poison type whose venom has a "darkens when exposed to air and stays like that" effect would, in fact, facilitate the developing of a camera basically as soon as they were tamed.
that said the photography studio in jubilife has a goddamn fucking color photography option with sepia being a filter they're applying so who even knows at this point, throws up my hands, guys don't use the cameras as a pinpoint for what time period pla takes place unless you're going full @/answrs and making it a really involved modern day larp. that's the only correct answer actually.

SEASON OF THE WITCH (1973)
Tumblr media
Title: “Season of the Witch”
Genre: Horror
Year Produced: 1973
Country of Production: United States
🎬 Movie Review: “Season of the Witch” (1973) 🎬
Story and Script: The narrative of “Season of the Witch” stumbles like a tipsy warlock on a moonless night. Too many dialogues, too little captivating scenes, and a pacing slower than a tortoise’s meditation session. It’s like watching a cauldron simmer without ever reaching a magical boil. My interest? Vanished faster than a witch on a broomstick.
Acting: Picture this: wooden performances, as if the actors were auditioning for a tree role. Their conviction? Barely passable. I’ve seen more convincing séances at a toddler’s tea party. The only thing haunting here is their lack of enthusiasm.
Visuals: Ah, the visuals – a relic from a bygone era. Imagine a sepia-toned Instagram filter slapped on a Polaroid. No special effects, just a splash of watercolor for the sole blood scene. It’s like they hired a budget-conscious vampire to do the makeup. The film screams “low budget” louder than a banshee at a discount store.
Sound and Music: The eerie soundscape? Decent, but hardly spine-tingling. Creepy scenes are rarer than a unicorn sighting. The music tiptoes around the edges, afraid to commit. It’s like a ghost humming a lullaby – soothing, but not enough to raise goosebumps.
Entertainment Value: Scary? More like a cat’s yawn. This horror witch theme movie is a misfired spell. I’m relieved it’s not an epic saga – my patience wouldn’t survive. If boredom had a patron saint, it’d be this film.
Personal Opinion and Rating: “Season of the Witch” is a cryptic disappointment. The low-budget seams show, like a patched-up broomstick. Marketing it as horror is akin to calling a rubber chicken a fierce dragon. Soft porn vibes? Oh, yes – suggestive glances and candlelit rituals. But excitement? Nah. I’d rather watch paint dry. ⭐ (out of 5).
General Reception: Movie lovers and critics alike buried this film deeper than a cursed amulet. Over the years, it hasn’t aged like fine wine; more like a forgotten potion in a dusty attic. No cult following, just cobwebs.

Visual interferences that dots make scuff us
Before digital imaging, there were two techniques for creating a halftone image You could hang a piece of coarse woven fabric in front of an unexposed photographic plate and the weave would filter the light like a mesh or sub the fabric for a screen with hand-cut parallel lines like slits Once exposed and developed using photo-etching techniques the photographic plate made an image composed only of dots or lines I am imagining these life-size stencils in a domestic space, like a living room: solutions that emerged from everyday objects a linen shirt draped over the back of a kitchen chair on the wall the horizontal lines of shadows made from bamboo blinds until someone has the idea to use them as light filters and hoists them up impromptu-like I need to describe what I am learning about print technology in physical terms, my terms I learn that jpeg artifacting is made from compressing data by saving it as a jpeg Contours of what otherwise might be the clean edges of shapes become jagged and halo-ed when the file size is increased This is the by-product of the circulation system of image processing (batch scaling up and down and back) This is dust that has been scaled from shapes and released into a pictorial space On a screen, dust can be made from the microfibres of hard smooth objects like playing cards, mirrors and dice, creating a texture culled together from non-essential data Under a microscope one piece of dust the size of a hole in an audio speaker becomes immersive What is this dust that cannot be root-bound or kicked off like shoes Brown and grey dust made by week old flower bouquets LA freeway dust nestled at the bottom of jars used to mix paint A surface covered in the velvet like texture How can I describe dust blowing underfoot from memoji dog picking up speed fuzzzzzzz The first time we saw the Sturtevant’s Finite / Infinite, a video projection of a dog running, that filled the entire warehouse space of 356 Mission Road, we weren’t together We were co-workers in an art world job We had nothing to say to each other. No idea how to interpret it except to feel the energy of this enormous beast on repeat together. The force of the dog running is cathartic energy If there is something that escapes the closed loop of the GIF it is the physical pleasure of running The painting is a mise-en-scene of this running scene The interior of the camera obscura is a dog beach with two mirrors instead of one, side by side Come closer I am looking at artifacts of digital processing and editing translated by silkscreened acrylic paint that simulates and adheres to the logic of the Photoshop file paint into grids of high res and low res dots but I am also looking at last night playing threes for one dollar bills with a button that makes everything night vision green a painting tool that softens the sepia hue of an absurdist film noir night and grades the jagged edges of pixels a squeegee that flattens the undulating stage curtain the cumulative sources of these images: a bootleg of a bootleg of a video still from a batch upload to Youtube a How to Video of scrap metal graveyards Op art fan art (my methodology for writing is the pleasure of having image associations flood through my hands like water) I like being lied to about the mechanics of optical illusions because when I hold my phone up to the painting, the camera animates a moire pattern while attempting to register the image

EdITING dAY 2
SOUNdS ANd COLOURS
We went on to start with colour grading as I already had in mind what colours and tints we will be using.
Tumblr media
Each scene was shot in the correct lighting and matched its mood thus we only had to enhance most of the stuff. The first half was in a yellowish orange tint as I opted for a warm colour since the mental illness had not hit her with full force and there was still a little bit of comfort and bliss.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As things process this shade keeps getting darker until it reaches the last scenes where we used the lights with red gelatin paper. Thus this shows a gradual progression of things getting darker and more red- an indicator of caution and danger becoming more prominent.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The office scenes also used a more bluish-green cool tone to show detachment since Jay started with being cold and annoyed to his sister. He has also lived a rather harsh life with the high dependency of his sister on him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
One of the flashbacks used a dark pinkish tint, while she was sobbing. From my director's POV I thought this color symbolised nostalgia and longing for what her life could have been had she not had such neglecting parents. The next flashback had a very greyish dull tint correctly symbolizing depressive flashback. I also really wanted a sepia vintage filter which correctly labels these scenes as from the past.
Tumblr media
The film was now missing one extremely important thing- sound. Without the correct haunting music or romantic one so many scenes feel incomplete and can be interpreted differently. Since putting music is also a time taking task we had already made a list of what kind of sound tracks we needed. This was all non-diagetic music which we were going to be downloading from the web.
Tumblr media
This is the background music we used. It is long enough, that we could select parts of the soundtrack for different areas. As the director sound is also soft so that it does not interfere with the dialogues, but visible enough to make its haunting presence known and therefore thought that it works.
youtube
This soundtrack had its 'bam' and very abrupt cresendos which were needed for different scenes like when Samaira suddenly gets up. There's no dialogue here and I wanted the sound to take the front seat and hold greater significance here thus this was a very loud sound track.
youtube
The scene where she texts her brother, needed chat bubbles to be edited on, which we would put the next day.
The next soundtrack we used was one that I personally really wanted. The instrumental intro of the song 'lovely by Billie Eilish' We needed a soundtrack that fit well for a scene where she was grieving and where she was exhausted with life since the same audio will carry forward to the next flashback. This song was both heartbreaking and was able to pull off the feeling of emptiness. This sound was matched with the next audio for the build up. One of the flashbacks , the depression one, needed a clock as water mark to show passing by of time. This we would edit and put the next day.
youtube
For the next scene something slightly dramatic was needed for this as it is finally the haunting presence can finally be seen. It is a significant scene and thus the previous song 'lovely' and this audio had a very eerie build up which matched the visuals. I also wanted the build up to end with abruptly because Samaira has a very soft but important dialogue, when she speaks to the shadow. Since the sounds here slightly over lapped each other a little bit of sound mixing. This scene was a confirmation of her accepting fate and needed to be emphasised and so we decided not to have any audio when she starts talking. Thus this audio made sense.
youtube
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Apart from soundtracks we needed small audios for a lot of things like pouring water, footsteps etc. For this we could use either foleys or downloaded music, I started making a list of all the different areas of the scene we would require a foley for, to get ready to put them the next day
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After this we went on to put in the title and credit slides. After searching it seemed like a good idea to add the title on the black screen after she shuts her drapes, this could then cut to her pulling the kettle which also started with a black screen and made sense. From the director's POV when Samaira shut the drapes was a kind of symbolism to her start to shutting down the outside world and reality. It seemed fitting to remind the audience of the title at this point. We already knew what our film name was going to be- the important part at this point was the formatting. We stuck wit a black screen since it easily got connected to the next scene's black screen. Another reason as the director was that since we decided to write Saaya in white over a complete black screen it gave off the effect of something being tainted- in this case Samaira's soul. Its like Samaira's logic and any thing good represented by the white font had gotten over powered and submerged in the wholly black background.
Tumblr media
The font style we used was bold and slightly chalky. This gave a ragged feel and looked good. I also wanted a small phase under the title. I created a few options and sent them to discuss it with the group.
Tumblr media
We finally decided on- A dark destiny. As the director my thought process was since Samaira was fighting an internal war with her demons. A war she thought was inevitable. It was like her 'destiny'.
Tumblr media
We put the credits in the end and got a little creative with it. The last scene was when Samaira stabs herself and Jay immediately screams her name. We carry forwarded the audio of him screaming on the credits.

Music Video Treatment
The music video will capture not only our bind to technology but to each other and the way that we are all connected through a proxy rather than directly. The song, which stays true to the bands style, is a more melancholy take on the alternative/indie genre, using decisive bass and kick drums with elongated synth notes not only defines this song’s aesthetic but will play into the way the video is filmed. I hope to paint a picture that communicates more as an almost creepy yet profound aesthetic which then eventually zooms out revealing the massively encompassing length to which wires and what they represent envelop us within.
Intro - 0:00 - 0:12
The video would start off closely following a thick black wire which emerges from either a grate on the street or the dirt, smoothly with a dolly shot and at times a gimbal. As the song begins there is a brief eight seconds of reverb and reduced audio until the song builds up to one kick drum which initiates the rest of the song. For this window of time I’d follow the wire up multiple stairs in a rather old apartment building. I’d tilt the camera up to follow the chord up the stairs and use the musical indications to increase the speed up the stairs, in post production, and around the corners to begin the momentum of the video. Meaning the stairs would be filmed in a higher frame rate and would be spliced together with the videos normal fps to smoothly transition back and forth, hopefully giving the illusion of the camera jumping forward. Things would desaturate and maybe the bronze colors enhanced by a subtle sepia filter for example may gradually emerge. When the incentivizing kick drum and lyrics come in the camera would have crossed the threshold of a door frame making it into an apartment, following the wire still. However, as that note hits, the foot of an unknown body laying on the ground in the door frame will come into frame, their ankle tightly wrapped with what appears to be the same wire.
First Verse - 0:12 - 0:33
In this apartment the camera would remain directly on top of the wire and follow it laying on the ground among plenty of other wires. It’d be dramatically lit with deep dark shadows and bronze outlines from a distant lightbulb. There’d be scattered bits and remnants of technology aging from older to more recent bits of tech as the video progressed and room and explored. Every two or four of the 808 bass drums/kick drums, which happens rather consistently, would be when the camera makes a decisive and quick turn to follow the bend in the chord. This would be accomplished by filming these turns at a higher frame rate as well. Towards the end of this sequence the chord runs up to another foot, this time belonging to somebody sitting in a chair.
Pre Chorus - 0:33 - 0:40
The camera zooms out, continuing to follow the wire, coiling around the unveiled person's calf and eventually thigh. The focus adjusts as the camera leaves the wire for the first time, revealing a flickering screen on a desk in the background. The room is dimly lit.
Chorus - 0:40 - 1:06
We cut to a wide shot of a person sitting on a chair, completely wrapped in wires acting like a straightjacket, in the middle of the room. The blinds are closed behind them, enough light coming through to silhouette the face and frontal details of the subject in the chair. A swinging light is some of the only movement in the frame, along with a flickering screen in the back-right corner, and the subdued swaying of the person sitting on the chair. An illuminated outline of the person shows them to be wearing a bike helmet, reflective shirt, baggy pants and biking shoes. Half way through the chorus the person sitting in the chair changes on beat to a person wearing a suit, finely dressed, swaying as if they’d always been there, same posture. Throughout the chorus there may be cuts to different imagery of wires, plug-in ports, tangled chords, outlets, etc.
Second Verse - 1:06 - 1:30
The screen cuts to black for a moment, fading back in quickly following the wires again as the previous verse had. The next era of technology would be scattered on the ground song the path of the chord, halfway through the verse, the chord would wrap around the hand of the person whose ankle we had seen earlier at the start of the video on the ground.
Chorus - 1:30 - 1:59
Same as the previous chorus except that the person sitting on the chair changes more frequently attempting to include as many caricatures of humanity as possible, using just the outline of the clothes associated with their occupation.
Bridge - 1:59 - 2:10
We cut to a shot of a blank wall with wires and chords of all sorts hanging from the ceiling. After a brief beat, some of the chords start retracting, pullings wrists and ankles around the bottom of the frame.
Chorus - 2:10 - 2:40
The subject in the chair is gone, the chair swinging, being yanked around by wires pulling it from off screen in multiple directions. Jump cuts back and forth between the person sitting in the room subdued as they were before and to the chair being chaotically pulled around the room.
Outro - 2:40 - 3:14
As the chorus breaks down into an uncontrolled chaotic melody, we’d finally leave the apartment, revealing an assortment of random people in public wrapped up in wires, either standing but immobile due to how many wires there are, or they appear to be tied to nearby objects. The locations would include well lit cobblestone streets, a bus or T station, a bench at the park, a gazebo at the beach overlooking the Boston Logan Airport, and so on. The video would then end with a wire from a chosen actor leading back into the earth which the camera then follows until it’s black.

Upgrades cost $99, but those who bought version 3 in November or later get the upgrade free. It works as a plug-in for Adobe Systems' Photoshop and Lightroom. Of course, all the settings are adjustable, and Exposure 4 has a better interface for managing all the options than Exposure 3, Alien Skin said. If you want to hearken back to an earlier time, Exposure 4 is a good way to do so. And it's got hundreds of new presets for styles such cyanotypes and wet-plate photography.ĭigging through the settings is like touring decades of photo history-you get far more than the usual collection of washed-out Polaroid, oversaturated Fujifilm Velvia, and antiquey sepia tones. Version 4 of the $249 software brings new abilities in reproducing defects such as light leaks or dust and scratches that film-era photographers usually strove so hard to avoid. One color-toning option for Alien Skin Exposure 4. It's not a coincidence that the software has the tagline "Taking the digital out of digital photography." The Exposure software brings a certain precision to its task, carefully emulating the look of actual film-early Kodachrome, say, or Kokak Tri-X 400 pushed a stop-for those who remember. But for the more serious out there who want to go beyond the obvious smartphone apps, Alien Skin Software plans to release Exposure 4 tomorrow. By now, the idea of applying filters to give photos a retro look is well established.
