actual image sizes don't matter since carrd scales them to fit but you can see examples of the image sizes i’ve used in the demo to get an idea for the dimensions. or just try your own and play around with the settings to get the desired outcome.

Hi-ho, Wudge here. Early devlog...!
This week I drew a blush just for Warden and nobody else. There are two very specific ways to see it, and only in this office location. So... good luck!
I playtested the game enough to get allllllll 26 achievements. I actually... had to reference my own walkthrough to get one of them. ;;; But I was able to do it!!
I also had a small.. incident where Griffin promised he'd talk to everyone to help fix their negative opinions of me (aka, reset the approval points to a more neutral zone after I thoroughly antagonized everybody).... and then he didn't. It's fixed now ;;;;;; But woo that would have been an awful lil mistake hahaha.
I finished the 'updating ur mc pfp' tutorial - seems to be intuitive and working seamlessly enough!
I converted converted alllll the pngs into webps, and converted alllllllllll the mp3s and wavs into oggs...
...and deleted all unnecessary files and notes from the development process. This is usually the stage where I'll end up breaking something from accidentally nuking an important file... but so far so good.
I put in a cute, special lil sfx for the reward you get after the credits.
Finish designing and coding my SECRET NG+ screen, and wrote a personalized dev note to put in it.
And - we've finally updated Mr Whidden! Wahoo!!!! Remnantation did an amazing job as always!
I thought about putting in some animated smoke coming out of his cannon arm but I had to tell myself No... No Wudge....stop.. ......I did add a lil ember and smoke at the very edge of the gun but THATS IT I restrained myself there and did not animate!!!

Finish updating my itch page (adding the final few lil graphics, putting up the new Content Warning, linking to the new video, then finally, uploading the game files and walkthrough).
Decide how I'm gonna update my pinned post. I should save a link to the old one bc most of its information should be quite relevant, but I'll want a temporary, shorter pinned post for new players who aren't familiar with this blog and are looking to troubleshoot or say hi or something.. Should still have fun attention-grabbing gifs and stuff from the itch page though. <_<
.... So yeah, mostly like - social media promo stuff. That should be it. Fingies crossed. Whew.

Dude thank you so much for all the work you do compiling broken/updated mods and cc. And I'm sorry people can't just read the first page of the sims forum thread! Drives me bonkers, so I can't imagine how you feel

I'll be honest here: Simmers choosing to add mods to their game (and that includes CC, which are mods too) but not learning how to properly install and update them or how to use them across game updates, not reading instructions from creators, not taking them out when reporting problems on support forums or to Maxis but saying they did, and not reading available info before asking for support are a HUGE reason modders leave modding (or just stop publishing their mods and keep them only for their own use) and a HUGE reason support volunteers stop volunteering.
So I'm going to bounce off your kind post with some advice for other people.
If You Want to Use Gameplay Mods and Custom Content...
Learn how to use your Mods folder.
Learn how to set your folder up with subfolders so that you can find the files you need to delete when you add new ones. Learn what has to go no more than one folder down so the game actually sees it. Something every college instructor quickly learns is that younger people have often never needed to learn about computer file structure before. Well, you have to.
Read creators' instructions.
Creators' instruction will tell you crucial things like what a mod actually will and will NOT do, packs are needed for their mod, how your files need to be arranged in your Mods folder, what other creators' mods you need to run theirs, which files to install only one of, etc. Far too many people show up asking for help and the problem is they didn't read the instructions. Instructions are not optional.
Have a plan for something else to do after game updates.
Sometimes your gameplay mods and custom content WILL BREAK because the part of the game they "talk" to changed. Have a "vanilla" save or a different game entirely to play while you wait. Develop a second hobby. Clean your kitchen. Call your mom. If you choose to use gameplay mods and CC, you are choosing that you will need to stop using them occasionally, one way or another.
Read AHQ support instructions and follow them.
Reporting a game error at Maxis's AHQ? Read about testing for the error without your Mods folder, and supply all the requested info.
Read mod support instructions and follow them.
Asking for help with mods/CC from Deaderpool or Sims After Dark or a creator? When you join, read the rules you agree to; they aren't there for fun. If you choose to use mods with unethical or illegal content, expect that you will NOT get support. Answer questions honestly. Upload the files requested, not just pictures of them. Be kind to creators and volunteers: there are very good reasons they're asking you what they are, and if they give up creating/volunteering, you're going to be on your own.
Read broken/updated mod support instructions and follow them.
@scarlets-realm and I have very different structures and therefore different rules, but neither of us is going to stay willing to maintain our lists if we keep having to deal with Simmers who don't follow our rules, which we have set up, for one, to prevent false reports, which benefit nobody. I started my list because I was looking for info for myself and thought I might as well share it in a centralized way. If it becomes increasingly annoying, I'm happy to let Simmers go back to Hard Mode.
Don't ask "WHEN".
You are not a preschooler anymore, and when you were and were asking "Are we there yet?," you were making it harder for your mom or dad to drive the car. Creators are not working on your schedule; you aren't their managers. Leave them alone so they can actually get to the destination.
Don't ask "What broke".
The answer is already available to you. READ AND FOLLOW my Forums list (don't just pop in with a question). Please note that the Forums themselves have rules, and those MUST be followed there. READ AND SEARCH Scarlet's list. If you choose to use mods from creators who use a pirated/cracked game or packs, who paywall any of their creations permanently or longer than Maxis permits for their type of content, or who copy code without permission from other creators, you're going to be relying on the creators for support. Neither of us will support unethical creators by helping you use their stuff.
Get your news about what's broken and what isn't from the established lists, support servers, and the creators.
A lot of Sims influencers on YouTube and Twitch use mods, but that doesn't mean they're a reliable source of info, unfortunately. Some are using outdated or broken mods and don't realize it. Some have been known to say that a mod is "broken" when what's broken is a game mechanic or when they think a mod is supposed to be doing something it's not.
You have a choice:
You don't HAVE to use gameplay mods or custom content. Many players don't, including all console players. If you CHOOSE to use them, learn how to do so the right way, and be a supportive part of the community so that you can keep using them.

this as a prime example of what is wrong with simblr (and tumblr in general). this ask was sent to me within like less than a day of that post about cf going up, while I was away for the weekend and not at pc for days. I did not even see the post until right before I got this ask. yall are so damn terminally online that you lost the gd plot and cannot comprehend someone not keeping their finger on the dying pulse of the performative activism headquarters of the internet. and you definitely can't comprehend waiting for complete info or maybe just a full day before starting some reactionary bs. just peeking in here since yesterday i see that simblr is yet again so hyped up on smelling its own farts that it's turned an issue of genocide into yet another dick measuring contest of who can reblog more posts than one another the fastest so they can look more empathetic and better than anyone else. and call themselves "real activists" for being able to click the reblog button. not to mention the usual spamming anons to random people minding their own business. yall are weird as fuck and need to get a firm grip on some grass. stop making the horrific suffering of others about yourselves for once.
that being said, let me get serious for the people on here that are actually normal. for those that don't know by now, this anon seems to be referencing this post about cf, which talks about overwolf (the company that owns curseforge) donating to the IDF. But I also found this tweet by OOP made after that post that explains they have since received DMs from Overwolf stating that they have shifted their relief efforts to aiding victims that have lost their homes from the Hamas terrorist attacks exclusively and do not fund the IDF. this is a much better cause as the victims of terrorism definitely deserve to be helped, and it makes sense they would do this as an Israeli company. The DMs also clarify that it is donation based and nothing uploaded to cf (cc/mods) contributes to this effort whatsoever. As well as Overwolf/Curseforge revenue in general. So simply using curseforge does not mean that you fund or endorse genocide. OOP calls their new efforts commendable in that tweet but I am still looking into and keeping an eye on this matter since, as we know, more information could come out later that contradicts this. And since I have been away im still catching up on everything that has been posted relating to cf.
here are the pics for those that may not have Twitter. do I still support a boycott for those that want to? oh, absolutely. I know that many will still want to boycott regardless, and I'll be working to add alt links to my cc uploads as soon as possible (the ones that don't already have them) for those that don't want to use it. However, everyone I've seen wanting to boycott seems to want to do it because a) they believe overwolf is funding the IDF (apparently is not true) b) they believe having their uploads on cf or downloading from there will fund the IDF (apparently is not true) or c) overwolf itself is an Israeli company (is definitely true). therefore based on the new info we now have some may decide not to boycott after all or will still do so, it is a personal decision. will I be deleting my account there? for now, no.
to be completely honest, I'm in a really bad place financially right now, and while it isn't much, the little bit I get from cf downloads has been exclusively going towards my meds and dr appointment bills. I don't have the option right now to turn down the small amount of added income when I am currently living day to day, especially with the updated knowledge that simply having cc uploaded there does not contribute to their donation efforts in any way. I do not paywall my cc and never will and I do not ask for donations myself, so my options are somewhat limited. although I do not make cc with the aim of getting paid, I ultimately wouldn't be able to justify the sheer amount of time I spend on it if it wasn't helping me with my medical bills currently, as I am already caregiving with the majority of my time. I'm not reliant on cc making or cf to live, and I never want that to be the case god forbid, but in full transparency it is helping me with my healthcare expenses atm and I cannot afford to neglect my health anymore than I have. especially since, as established earlier, using cf does not contribute to the IDF in the first place. so I personally do not judge anyone that continues to use cf for this reason.
also, for the record so there is no confusion on my personal views, I fully support the freedom of Palestine and condemn genocide first and foremost, as well as terrorism and antisemitism. The current situation in Gaza is abhorrent and I encourage all my followers to not only reblog posts, but educate yourselves on the situation and bring it irl as you are able. Speak with the people you love as well as those you are acquainted with and bring this to this to their attention (if you feel safe to). Attend protests if you can. If you cannot, make the calls and emails to your representatives, sign petitions, and donate as you are able. I have been seeing that even spreading Palestinian culture among your loved ones and peers is helpful. So even if you are in a bad place mentally, that may be an option to spread the positive message of the Palestinian people in your everyday life. I'll be reblogging the posts I already did earlier and some new ones too so you can find those updated links. I will be tagging it with palestine so that it can be found easily on my page.
In addition, be kind. To others and yourself. Try to see the full damn picture instead of a snapshot. What someone posts on tumblr of all places does not reflect an entire person's being, or their efforts, or their heart. Yelling your head off on this dying website does not equal activism, and running your mental health into the ground taking on the weight of the world doesn't give you any more control over the issues we face- I learned that the hard fucking way, believe me. By all means share as much as you like, every bit helps (especially if you have a lot of followers), but keep in mind that it certainly doesn't make you better than anyone else. I know it's extremely difficult to feel helpless and you want to feel like you're doing something, but just make sure you're doing the right things for the right reasons. Please do not fucking attack random people for not responding within one business day of the latest info coming out. And take time away from all this shit to breathe. You can't help anyone if you're fucked up yourself. especially for those of us that already face discrimination and bigotry every day irl, I know it is exhausting. Remember to also care for yourselves through all this.

It's been requested so here it is: my gif tutorial! I hope to make this very simple as I've made gif making very simple for myself with the help of .atn made by myself and others. More under the cut!
First, what you'll need.
Photoshop (here's a link to a masterlist of free photoshop resources from birdysources)
KMPlayer, to get your screencaps.
These PS actions. (My gifmaking one, and this sharpening action from insomniacgifs.)
Some understanding of how to color gifs (I'll be linking my psd shown here, as well as including the process of making one.)
Next, how to get the videos that you want to gif.
I personally source my videos from Youtube, Twitter, and streaming services. (Firefox browser is your best friend, as it doesn't black out the screen that some services have.) If a Youtube Video Downloader isn't working, or if I'm capturing my own footage, I use the Xbox Game Bar's recording feature (windows + alt + r) to capture footage. There's also applications like OBS Studio. For Twitter, I use twittervideodownloader.com
Now, making the gif.
I use Photoshop CC 2018, but any PS with a timeline will work. But first, we gotta take our screencaps. Open your video in KMPlayer, and press alt+v. This will open up this second screen
These are my settings, with an easily accessible folder that I save my frames to. Find the scene you want to clip, and hit start & play your video, then stop when you have the frames you want.
Next up we're going to open up Photoshop. I changed my keyboard shortcuts so all I've got to do is hit ctrl+alt+o, but for you guys, you gotta go to File -> Scripts -> Load Files Into Stack
Select your screencaps of the scene you want to gif. Now that Tumblr allows gifs up to 10MB, the amount of caps you want is totally up to you. I stick to around 45-50, but sometimes there's a scene I need that's up to 150+ caps, and it still fits under the size limit. It all depends on the dimensions and coloring of your gif. I'm loading up 51 frames as the sharpening .atn deletes the final frame of your gif once it reverts back to frames, so I'll have an even 50 framed gif.
Your PS should look like this. Here comes the gif making itself. You want to hit Create Frame Animation at the bottom, where your timeline is. If your timeline isn't already open, click your Window tab up top, and find timeline in the dropdown.
After you hit Create Frame Animation, you want to Make Frames From Layers, which you'll find when you click the three lines on your timeline.
Then, reverse your frames.
Finally, Select All Frames, click the arrow on the frames, and change the frame delay to .06 seconds.
Way to go! You've made a gif! Now, if you're like me, you'll get tired of having to do that over & over when making a gifset. So, I recorded and uploaded an .atn, which means all you gotta do is load up your frames, hit play on the .atn, and your gif is good to go. I'll link it again so you don't have to lose your place in the tutorial.
So you've made your gif, now what? Now we crop, sharpen, color, and save for the web. Let's get to it.
Tumblr dimensions can be tricky, but they're easy to remember. (I even made a little graphic for it!)
For my tutorial, my Jamie gif will be 268 x 268 :)
Here is my unsharpened, unedited gif of Jamie Hayter. I believe this clip was snagged from YouTube, but it's been awhile since I saved it. I use insomniacgifs' gif sharpening atn, as I hate manually sharpening gifs. So let us run that real quick. (I'll be using the Strong option. Don't forget to delete the final frame.)
Onto coloring! The example I whipped up for this tutorial is super simple, so let's go!
I typically edit the curves first. I'm not sure why, just something I picked up from my photo journalism class back in HS.
Next, I add a little brightness. (+10)
Then, I mess with Selective Color, just a bit. (Neutrals, Black +10. Blacks, Black +5.)
Now, I don't know exactly what Channel Mixer does, but it's fun. Here's my settings.
Some Saturation (+5)
And lastly, I edit the Color Balance!
Aaaaand here's my final product! I also uploaded this as a PSD for you to save and use yourself!
Once your gif is all done, we need to save it properly. File -> Export -> Save for Web (Legacy). Here are my settings.
Note: Make sure your looping options is set to forever so your gif doesn't loop once and freeze!

I dunno if it's the same anon sending me more messages, but since blocking deletes the message (whoops), I'll just post this here:
1. That is not what the term "gatekeeping" means, what? 😭 Not sharing Sims is not gatekeeping them from you. I've always been WCIF friendly and will help you find any CC I use. I've even uploaded CC myself in cases where the original blog was deactivated and the link was broken. I'm happy to help when I can, but good Lord, I don't owe you Sims. (Especially when I've said before many times that it's a time-consuming process and I don't particularly enjoy doing it.)
2. I've actually shared a lot of Sims; some were even personalized Sim requests. I took them down after other people messaged me and told me my Sims caused issues in their games, which is why you're not finding any on my blog. But saying I've never shared Sims is just patently untrue.
Anyway. If you're only following me to get Sims, I don't think I'm the blog for you. There's a lot of other creators you can follow instead.

What I posted about yesterday was a mistake.
I wasn't supposed to upload it and never should. I'm sorry for wasting everyone's time, but I think I need to take a break from Tumblr for a while.
I've messed up people I was with so bad and I know I could never change what I did. Even a simple apology won't do anything. Just an awful/horrible person I am. I really thought I'd change for the better but obviously I didn't.

Update:
I am feeling alright now. I've decided to work on myself instead of grieving. I currently already have some drawings done, but I'll continue to stay away from Tumblr a bit now just to focus on more important things.
About my ex-friend and the artist, I no longer want their forgiveness. They made their choice so I'm okay with that. I'll probably make a new confession with more detail, but I barely have any proof of the things I did and I don't have much memory since I remove, distance myself, or delete as many things as possible. I erase any traces related to them. It's how I cope with things. Since the post from yesterday was meant to be a WIP I would add more and edit it.
Anyway, I'm also working on the dreamwarriors comic again. The new shading style is killing me, lol ;v;. I might also try to find ways to get the pages down faster.
I do have some more reference sheets so I can get those done.
That's all I got for now.
For those in the replies, thank you so much for all the support, and yes, everything I've done is in the past and I'm only focusing on the present.

Y'all why tf are my videos flopping so badly lmfaooo 💀
I know I do the parodies for the fun of it, but considering that i genuinely put time, work, effort (and the breaking of my vocal chords) into the videos, I'd appreciate if youtube was nicer to me and didn't give me like to view ratios of like 48:681. If you like the video and you watched it, why can't you hit a like button so that the YouTube algorithm will recommend my content more to other users? Also, the less likes I see, the more I assume that the vacancy is related to people who watched it and dislike it, so they either leave a dislike, stop watching it partially in, or don't give a rating. I want to know if the majority of people like it and want me to continue, or if I'm only entertaining like 5 people per upload.
I've been continuing despite this lurking feeling that the majority doesn't like it, but I have stopped and even deleted some series before due to the stress and demotivation this shit has brought to me before. Idk why, but if I put effort into something, my brain wants it to be recognised.
That's probably something I need to personally work on mentally for myself, but y'all gotta understand that it is demotivating and just disappointing when I get stats as terrible as I've gotten on my parodies.
(Yes transfem Adam has a good amount of views, and yes, looking into analytics, I have found that there are only 5 dislikes--not counting those who just don't hit dislike and click off. But out of the views to the people who actually rate it, its maybe around 6% of the people who've viewed it so far. Which is disappointing. I, as a creator, want to see those who view my content actually rate it based off their opinion of it so that the algorithm picks up on it).
It's also sad that tranfem Adam only got so many views because my brother was annoying Discord users with sharing it in their servers. (I did not ask him to do it, he just did).
So honestly, I'll continue my parodies because I know it's worth it for those who like them, and myself. But I'd appreciate it if people would actually hit like, subscribe, leave a comment, or share them around if you find them funny enough. It'd support my channel and hopefully stop it from dying, which it was previously doing before me making these. I had lost over 300 subscribers from being absent from posting before, and I've literally only gained 5 when I start up again LMFAO
Seriously though, it's been a long time in running for my youtube, I'd hate it to just die 💀

Friendly Reminder!
As you know I upload an ungodly amount of screenshots to this site and share them with all of you willingly and very gladly. Now I do not put watermarks on my pictures because I simply cannot do that, I could, technically, but it already takes me so much time taking them and editing them to size and whatnot, so I will not start doing it any time soon.
Why do I say that now?
Well, I know as soon as you upload something to the internet, it's gone, no longer yours, you put it up to share with others and all you can hope for is that nobody will repost it as their own. And frankly, I do not care (okay, a little bit) what anyone does with my screenshots, it is my conscious decision not to watermark them. (To be perfectly honest I never thought anyone would use them for anything because there are so many higher quality screenshots out there!) Don't get me wrong:
You can do anything with my screenshots, really! Of course you can!
But (and I thought that was common courtesy to be honest) when you do, please credit me. At least drop a little hint that those screenshots are not yours. It might not be your intent to do any harm when you use them, you might even have forgotten who you got those pictures from, but not saying anything when posting them, no matter the circumstances, feels a little wrong to me.
It is not my intention to shame anyone. It is just a friendly reminder.
I'm also aware that I do not own anything that is depicted, so I shouldn't "complain" about it now. I do not own anything, I do not own Sebastian Sallow (unfortunately). Now what about MCs? We all have one, we all make them look different. Maybe some look similar. Do we own screenshots of them? I don't know, maybe, a little bit? Probably not. But seeing them on somebody else's post, uncredited, doesn't sit right, does it?
I've debated long and hard with myself if I should even address this. I know it wasn't ill intent, they just wanted to make a point about something, it's okay. It can happen, they might not know better. But it might happen again if I stay silent, right? (By the way, this is not some passive-aggressive non-mention shit, I honestly do not want to call out names because that's not the intention of this post! I am not shaming anyone, I just want to educate, even if they might never see this...)
Listen, the more I write about this the more I want to delete it all and just keep living my life, not caring about anything like that, because is it really that big of a deal? Maybe it's not and I'm just pulling this completely out of proportion... (But I know it also irks me! So I'll keep this wall of text! I probably shouldn't have written this while PMSing, I'm sorry...)
So, TL;DR:
If you use/post any picture you find online, please try to find the source and credit them! And if you have no idea where you got something from, then please just say so!

That link aside, I have a transcript planned for Mansion of the Deathly Mirror just like I did with Chelmey's Casebook and London Holiday, but I don't even have the full first chapter completed yet, so I'll have to catch up whenever I have the time and materials to do so. I haven't had the time to work on it in many months, but don't worry, I haven't forgotten about it and I WILL make a better, FULL version of the translation, as soon as I can get to it (but right now I'm kinda supposed to be preparing for my PhD defence hahahahaha).
Now for some ramblings related to the above-linked Reddit post. Long story short: we have chances of securing the game. But for that to happen, we need to be patient, and we need to be silent. If you ever find footage of the game on youtube or elsewhere, no matter what you do, leave the player alone.
Let them upload at their pace and gather the crumbs as they fall off the table, because asking for them to let you eat the whole cake has never worked in the past. By that I mean: asking someone who owns the game "hey can I see your cool shiny thing asap plz plz plz" will result in that person blocking you, no longer posting any footage or content related to that cool shiny thing, and possibly disappearing off the face of the entire internet forever. I am neither joking, nor exaggerating.
I'm not talking that much about MotDM because we don't want to get too much attention drawn to it for the time being. But don't worry, if this game ever is found (and we have a whole team searching for it, we're just secretive on purpose -- for the reasons I mentioned here and for those that are explained in more detail in the Reddit post), we WILL make sure that the fandom knows about it. It's mostly just that right now, the only person we know who has the game and is somewhat willing to make a playthrough does not want any unwanted attention, and this person is not a friend of ours. They will stop uploading if people ask for them to upload faster, and they already threatened once to delete all their videos when someone asked them if they could "share the ROM." (No. No they won't. And even if they were willing to, we can't even make anything out of a ROM yet because of the hardware being stupidly complicated anyway.)

Unless you want to dive into this endless rabbit hole, I highly suggest you just keep that answer, leave it at that for now, and go about your day minding literally anything else. It's just that for now we're all stuck in limbo hahaha, there's some stuff done in the shadows but nothing worth hyping about until we're done with it. [EDIT] Needless to say, the player who is sharing some gameplay footage does NOT know that I have a website with the beginning of a fan-translation, and if they learn even so little that it exists, they are going to have a heart attack and will likely delete their entire playthrough. And nobody wants that.
I personally won't celebrate and heave a real breath of relief before footage of the full game from start to finish with as much content as possible is secured, which is why I don't talk about it a lot. I'm just paranoid that something might go wrong like it already has multiple times in the past hahaha

AITA for taking measures to protect myself? [HC-Heavy]
Yep. I'm sending this in. Friend told me to. So, I [Old M-leaning] and my now EX boyfriend L [Old M-Leaning], had an EXTREMELY messy break-up because he trapped me in the body of a stoat in the paper of a card. It was easily one of the most humiliating and traumatizing experiences of my life, and I happen to take steps to ensure it never happens again. Now is a good time to mention we're all video game characters.
So, I take control of the game like L did and I don't even trap him in a card, I'm not that fucking cruel [I do trap his lackey in a card tho, gotta get those revenge points in. Yep]. And he's fucking PISSED, so are G and M, my half-friends because we fell the fuck out. Ok, actually it's more like G is my friend I fucking can't stand M. Whatever. Who cares. Point is I take over the game and run it much better with a fun campaign so I can get the challenger to upload it to the internet.
That way, I'll always have control, no one's gonna hurt me again, right? Wrong. L rips my fucking head off and I KNOW it was him, I recognize that fucking touch, and G deletes the entire fucking game. Somehow we survive that, all back to square one, and everyone's pissed with me even though all I did was take defensive measures after L TRAPPED ME IN A FUCKING CARD.
So. AITA?
