It’s a miracle. It has to be. Or...or, a tragedy. Something between the two extremes. Because Steve has seen many outlandish things happen at Hawkin’s, but this one takes the fucking cake.

He’s seen you angry. Seen you happy (a few times, maybe, he’s not to sure about that to be honest, he might’ve been hallucinating). Seen you cracking a joke or two at his expense (he wasn’t angry, they were funny, but then again, everything you say is funny and only to him). But he’s never, ever ever in the history of all evers, seen you upset.

It takes him aback. You Henderson’s are tough to crack, and to see you so visibly defeated is just uncanny.

You’re not the easiest to get along with. You’re a bit rude to their rag-tag team of heroes that save the world every other month without a thank you. A bit cold, a bit distant. A bit pretty, too, but Dustin would probably bury him alive if he was to ever speak it out loud.

From your bed, you notice him. Shit. You weren’t meant to notice him. He was supposed to be watching movies with Dustin in the living room, then going to the bathroom and not halting by your door. To be fair, you could’ve kept it closed. Then again, you probably didn’t think he’d be lurking around like some villain ready to spy on unsuspecting high school seniors.

That sounds horrible. He must explain himself immediately, “Just--” He waves his hand around, all smile and charm and perfect hair, “on my way to the bathroom.”

“Does this look like the fucking bathroom to you?” You snap back.

“Right.” He chokes out. Clears his throat. You make him stupidly nervous, “I just, uh,” He just what? The question is written all over your face and he’s already preparing for a lashing, “I was just on my way and...noticed that you seem a bit upset.” He smiles again, anxiously, trying to lessen the blow he’ll surely have to take after such a confession, “I thought it was strange, cuz, you know,” He motions to you, “you’re you.”

There’s a pause. He thinks he’s off the hook when, “The strangest thing is that nobody fucking asked, Harrington.”

Yeah, this isn’t going that well. At least he doesn’t have a thing for you, because that would make all of this worse.

You jump up and make your way to the door ready to shut it in his face but he’s quick to stop you, “Woah! Woah woah woah!” He raises his hands in a pacifying gesture, one that, surprise surprise, seems to work, “I don’t mean any harm, I swear.” Okay, you seem to be listening, so that’s a start, “You’re Dustin’s sister. You know I love that kid.” He admits this a bit quieter, partly because he doesn’t want the said kid to hear and partly because what he says is really fucking true, “And... so...” He shrugs. It should all be already obvious.

That angry spark seems to fizzle from your eyes. Your features soften and your shoulders droop and you look at him unguarded and okay--okay, right, he might have a thing for you after all.

“You can tell me.” He says, gently, afraid to scare you away, “If you want to, that is. I’m not forcing you or anything. Just...just, you know, you can always. Talk to me.”

“Why are you being so nice to me?”

“I dunno, maybe because I’m a nice person?” That got a smile out of you. Jackpot. A smile suits you better than a frown, but then again, everything looks good on you. He grins, “Okay, well, if you change your mind, I’ll be down the hall. Once I’m done in the bathroom. You should come join us, by the way.”

“I’m not into that nerd stuff.”

“(Name).” He says, wounded, hand covering his heart, “Don’t let poor Dusty hear that.”

“He’s well aware of that already, trust me.” You say with a small smile. There’s a pause of pleasant silence, then, “You should go before you pee your pants.”

“Yeah, I really should.”

And it’s not completely unexpected when you, despite not being into that ‘nerd stuff’, join the two of them on the couch and steal Dustin’s popcorn. You’re quite vocal about not understanding what’s going on. To be fair, Steve doesn’t understand either, but Dustin explains it pretty clearly. The movie is just the three of you talking. Laughing. Exchanging glances that don’t quite have a meaning yet.

Steve thinks that if all summer nights were like this, he wouldn’t mind. Maybe the three of you could go to a drive-in theatre on a balmy night like this. Or the two of you. He’s not about to say it, but if Dustin was to, let’s say, not tag along, it would be better. A whole lot better.

“Dude!” One, singular pop-corn hits his cheek. He blinks. Dustin is glaring at him, “Stop staring at my sister, it’s fucking creepy!”

"I wasn’t staring!”

“Like fuck you weren’t!”

“It’s fine, Dustin,” You say, “maybe he just had an aneurysm.”

“What the hell, (Name)?” He hisses. Dustin laughs.

Yeah, he’s not taking Dustin to the movies. Fat-fucking-chance.

Ok! So as I said this is my little Metal Family ships ranking! All I will say now are my headcanons. you can disagree with them, just remember to not being rude just because someone likes something you don't like!

Main Characters + my oc!

Glam x Victoria - one of my favorite ships! I think they fit together perfectly! I love love love them <3 10/10

Glam x Chive - I think they may had some small romantic relationship in the past. But it's not what I would call a permanent relationship. ( tbh I have a small headcanon that Chive and Glam could flirt with each other when they are drunk lol.) I like them together but prefers their relationship more as brothers/best friends! 6/10

Chive x Victoria - whaaaat..? No, it wouldn't work lmao 0/10

Chive x Anna - naaaaah,, :/ I don't like this ship. I see them as good friends + I think Anna prefers girls. In my headcanon Chive may have flirted with her at beginning but nothing more came of it. Just best friends! 0/10

Victor x Chive (oc x canon ship!) - so basically it's my otp, what can I say about them. I don't think anyone here knows much about this ship because Victor is my oc but I will try to describe you more this ship. When I was creating Victor I wanted to combine opposites! Victor is often stressed and Chive would help him chill out. I think they would complement each other. In my AU Victor would also help Ches out of addiction at the beginning. I just really like this ship. 10/10

Anna x Victoria - it's an interesting ship to be honest. I think like with Glam x Chive there may have been a closer relationship at first but then it turned into a platonic friendship + I think victoria is straight lol. 3/10

Yo what does the coke and mentos bloat feel like? I would be worried it’s painful. Drinking coke already feels like gulping drain cleaner sometimes.

If the research is correct: I think coke and mentos is a myth.

But if I’m being absolutely honest: my reaction in that video is 100000% true and accurate. It’s insane. There are no words. Maybe it’s placebo? But I’ve NEVER felt stuffed like that before. If you really wanna know what if feels like- watch the video. It’s free on onlyfans and I describe EVERYTHING I feel and experience. It’s too much to put into words here but- I’m honestly afraid of that bloating method and don’t plan on doing it again anytime soon lest I desire explosion.

Rating of books I read on vacation:

The Making of the Atomic Bomb: 10/10, I kind of read it in prep for Oppenheimer and the attention to detail blew me away. You need to have some basic knowledge of physics to understand some of the more technical details but this book is incredibly worth the time and effort as it takes you through the entire scientific history of the atomic bomb project.

Red Rising: 9/10, one of those books that many different people have been recommending over and over again that I’m glad I finally got to sit down and read. Once I started it, I was hooked and got it done within a day. The characters are what made the book for me (shoutout to Sevro) and I couldn’t help but to feel for them. When I get the time I’ll definitely be checking out the next books it the series. Still unsure if it’s a trilogy or not.

We Are Legion (We Are Bob): 10/10, another sci-fi read. Seems my vacation had a bit of a theme. We Are Legion was simply a fun read and again I will be checking out the next book in the series. In short, this book is about a man who signs up to have is body frozen when he dies and has his brain uploaded into a computer. His name is Bob and he goes on to have some space adventures like blowing up his counterpart from Brazil and discovering the existence of life beyond Earth. Also, if I had a nickel for every time I read a book in which the main character died in the first few chapters I’d have two nickels which isn’t a lot but it’s weird it happened twice.

The Atlas Six: 6/10, because it was okay. I’ll be honest when I picked up this book everyone seemed to be saying I would love the characters but I didn’t. This book revolves through six main characters’ povs and it was hard to get through when I simply did not enjoy being in the heads of a few of the people. What I felt the book lacked in characterization however, it made up for in plot and mechanics of magic. One of my favorite things is when I encounter a fresh kind of magic system in a book, and while this combined several popular elements it didn’t feel like anything I’d read before.

The Lies of Locke Lamora: 100000/10, a re read and personal favorite. It makes me feel things and then it rips out my heart so I read it again.

Power of the Doctor is such an interesting episode because there’s honestly a lot I enjoyed about it but I’ve seen a lot of very good critiques that I can’t help but agree with as well. It’s honestly been a minute since I’ve felt so divided on an episode.

Let’s start with the things I really dug.

First off, I don’t care if it doesn’t make sense in terms of regeneration science, I really enjoyed the idea of the Master having the plan to literally steal the Doctor’s body and go around the universe ruining the Doctor’s reputation. I think that’s a really fun plan and it feels different from a lot of other Master plans and yet a good evolution from other plans the Master has had.

Somewhat connected to the plan, I really REALLY loved seeing the visual manifestation of what regeneration is like. The idea of the previous self essentially having to let go to let the next incarnation take over? 10/10. The Guardians being various faces of previous incarnations giving us a chance to have multiple past-Doctor cameos? 100000/10 that scene made me so insanely happy and it also made me dislike Day of the Doctor even more because my god it’s such a genius idea. Not to mention it was just so beautiful to see Sylv and Colin and Paul again and the addition of using David Bradley once again as the 1st Doctor is just pure chef’s kiss.

Another aspect I really, really dug (again, somewhat connected) is the absolutely lovely moments of closure with Teagan/5 and Ace/7. I honest to god got teary-eyed during both and I would watch those scenes over and over again. I know it’s incredibly fan-service but 1) I love it 2) it’s the centenary special as well as Jodie’s finale so I think we deserve the fan-service.

Now, a couple negative things.

While I really loved the Master’s plan, I do think it gets very buried under a lot of other things. It’s tough for me to say this was a problem because I also feel like the focus of the companions (and primarily Yaz) doing everything they can to save the day was also good. The “power” of the Doctor as it were is her friends and the people who would do anything to help her, so of course the primary focus of the episode is going to be her friends doing everything they can to stop the evil while the Doctor is rather indisposed.

Somewhat similar to that negative; the idea of a Dalek betraying the Dalek race because it thinks the Dalek’s have lost the right to survive is SO GOOD and SO LOST in this story and that kills me because genuinely what a fascinating idea!!! SO INTERESTING!!! But just completely buried within all the other stuff.

Okay, okay now this one is an honest negative that doesn’t have a positive blended with it; why the hell was Ashad there? I don’t mean that in a, “how did he survive?” way, we got a BS explanation for that. I mean, what was the point of him being there? He didn’t add anything to the story, he didn’t do anything that screams Ashad™️ to me. Just felt a bit pointless.

On that note of pointless characters, as much as I know that Vinder was there because “friends of the Doctor are the Doctor’s greatest power” he also felt just so insanely pointless beyond “we need someone to shoot a gun” like?? ok?? Get Ace or Tegan or KATE to do it???

The biggest bit I’m conflicted on, of course, is the regeneration.

The effect was gorgeous, her last words were genuinely wonderful, and I really enjoy a regeneration episode regenerating on a high note rather than a grim and sad note... buuuuuuuut regenerating into Tennant. Let’s talk about that.

Do I like the idea of a regeneration that’s being tampered with and leaving us on a rather unique cliffhanger? Yes. Do I think this cliffhanger would’ve been better utilized if we didn’t have to wait over a year to get answers to it? YES 1000%. I think that is where my biggest problem comes in is that, unlike the Stolen Earth cliffhanger of 10 regenerating after being shot by a Dalek, we aren’t going to get a resolution to it in a timely manner. Meaning that it’ll have time just to sit and stir and for people who didn’t like it, that’s just going to make them like it even less, and for those who did like it, they may change their minds or come up with theories to it that will inevitably be better than what we actually get. I also think that, while I enjoy the idea of really playing with a regeneration moment and trying to give it a unique shock factor, there is something really disappointing about Jodie regenerating into Tennant. I think it’s the fact that Tennant is still considered by many to be the best/most popular New Who Doctor so to go from a Doctor that got an insanely unfair amount of criticism to an actor that gets nothing but praise in the role does feel a little crappy. Had 13 regenerated into Paul McGann? That would’ve been wild and the idea of Paul McGann and Donna running around together is very interesting.

I think another problem with it is the fact that Russel is treating it very much as Tennant is now 14 and Gatwa is going to be 15. While I think there’s something amusing and interesting about an incarnation only being around for 3 episodes, I also just think it leaves a weird taste in the mouth saying that Tennant has played 2 separate incarnations of the Doctor in the span of a decade or two. Again, a big part of that just comes from the fact that he is surrounded with so much praise I think.

Of course, I also wouldn’t be surprised if Russel was totally messing with us and it’s going to be revealed that this version of Tennant isn’t an incarnation and is the Celestial Toymaker (or whatever Neil Patrick Harris is playing) totally messing with the Doctor and having a bit of fun. I think the fact that the clothes changed along with the Doctor is a big giveaway to that because let’s be honest, a proper regeneration hasn’t changed the clothes since the first regeneration back in 1966.

However, my biggest issue with the regenerating into Tennant is that it is the thing I think most people are thinking about and talking about, whether positive or negative, and that means it took away focus from what was most important; this was Jodie’s last episode.

Yeah, the regeneration and the new Doctor is always a big talking point when it comes to a final episode, but this is just so different. It’s an actor who’s already played the Doctor, it’s setting up some big story that’s gonna span 3 anniversary episodes, and it’s David Tennant. It’s a hell of a lot different than the chatter that normally occurs when a new Doctor graces our screens.

Okay. That’s the extent of my thoughts for now. I’m sure I could talk about a hell of a lot more, but these are the immediate thoughts that are racing through my brain a little more than 12 hours after viewing it for the first time. If you’ve read this far, thank you very much!

Honestly, it seems like we are voting for half a pair here lmao. Nobu's anti-mystery and anti-divinity aspects seem like they'd be great against B+ divinity and the rest of her skills and NP would also be great Arjuna on the other hand...

Well. He looks pretty? I don't think he is particularly amazing in this scenario especially since Avenger copied Hero of the Endowed, but he is extra firepower.

I think Casters are there to just keep her busy with summons and with Rule breaker additionally being anti-magic but I can't think of any statistical bonuses that Dante would get against Foreigner that are particularly amazing.

Beyond that, I do think it's a tossup between Berserker and Lancer for just a 'hit things very hard' class but we also need to go against the grail, which, might be Berserkers as the very strong generalists?

Oh right, threats against humanity would be banging if it works that’s the one thing Gogh definitely is

Honestly in a normal hgw/his more standard set arjuna would be better off here given he usually has the anti-divinity at least like nobu as well, not to mention he also has a debuff immune on his clairvoyance (the best in game, actually as far as I know, it’s 5 turns on a 6 turn cooldown and doesn’t leave as soon as it’s hit w one). The problem is that team archer wasn’t smart enough to get it on him like berserker was with kintoki so his clairvoyance only buffs investigating. I feel like objectively his arrows would’ve normally had a longer range than nobu’s guns but to be honest I suspect fate probably doesn’t care that he could shoot like 2 miles out with thousands of arrows being shot near simultaneously; and that a flintlock rifle can only go about 75-100 metres while needing to be reloaded bc I’m almost positive nobu can shoot things farther away than that. (She can also summon 100000 guns but tbh that makes sense re: her lore anyway) If they were cool she would have a much smaller range per single gun but.

Caster is twofold wanted bc of Medea’s rulerbreaker, which has been a ‘stupid fate bullshit destroyer’ since like…heavens feel at least iirc, not to mention Dantes can summon absolute scads of shades which are equally competent as any other servant which would help hold the line. TRIGGER WARNING

AH AN UPDATE!!!! I have one!!!

SO, the clinic reached back to me & I didn’t get the best news I wanted to hear as to what they thought was the best path of recovery to take. It was basically decided I should go inpatient which makes me feel so many emotions. Anger at myself, at my younger self for starting this shit & romanticizing it. Fear because I don’t want that at all - obviously. A lot of fear over cost, what about my job I WORKED SO HARD TO GET INTO, what about me having to pay rent but not being able to work. It makes my head spin. It makes me sick. It’s been something that really just sucked more life out of me. BUT that clinic didn’t have any beds atm so they referred me else where.

I called another clinic & asked about the cost of inpatient. I’m so desperate to fucking be free from my god damn ed that maybe I’d be willing to take a month away to get help. They said they were going to run my insurance & call me back with an estimate - they never called me back but you bet your ass imma follow up because I’m DONE suffering.

Which leads me to where I am at now in my journey of truly actually getting my mental health together FOR REAL. I have an in person therapy appointment Thursday with someone new. I was selfish and chose a female therapist to make me more comfortable instead of being like, “oh whatever” & getting a man & 100000% be uncomfortable (sorry male doctors. Truly nothing against you & all respect to your work/practice. It’s just a mind thing, I swear). I was BRUTALLY honest on my intake form as to why I was seeking therapy, what I have been feeling, & what I’m looking to get out of therapy. And I plan to be brutally honest with the therapist because I am so so so tired of being a prisoner of my mind. Tired of years passing by that could have been filled with more memories if I weren’t so stuck in my toxic way.

A lot of my current eating disorder problems have changed from when I was younger. At first, it was about being skinny skinny skinny & not eating & exercising & achieving control/“that look”. But I’m an adult now & I know I can’t do that or I’ll literally fucking die & all my dreams I worked so hard for will go to waste. So my eating disorder became a horrible “habit” I say now. I won’t go into details because I’m ✨not a thinspo✨ BUT what I’m trying to get to is my panic attacks relate a lot to my eating/ed and I think talking to someone about my patterns, triggers, and fears will help guide me to getting fully away from the point of maintaining where I’m at essentially. That’s what I want to try first before I fully commit to inpatient. And if it takes weekly sessions, fuck the cost. For myself, my cloud, and my future, I’ll do it. (So if I post my onlyfans, hml to help pay for my therapy✨✨) I plan to quite frankly because that’s what I feel I need.

MY THOUGHTS ON TODAYS EPISODE:

Carlos carried the whole thing. Lets just get that out of the way. An icon. A legend. He was a masterpiece this episode.

Genuinely think Carlos and Kourtney are just the best characters this season. Go them.

Gina, she has every right to be upset that EJ didn’t tell her. And I think most of her anger is stemming from: EJ “confiding” in Val over it as well as the uncertainty of him staying in Salt Lake or not. Do I think she was a bit over the top at points,, good lord yeah just a bit. Val needs to lock EJ and Gina in a room and just let them talk it out because with how busy EJ is, it’s going to be difficult for them to be able to do that :(

Now EJ and Gina are 100000% both paralleling Troy and Gabriella/Shane and Mitchie it’s absolutely wild to me. First of all, the “different summers” camp rock 2 reference??? Just the main plot points to their characters 🧍‍♀️like wOW I dig it

Ricky just feels off this episode, and I genuinely think it’s just him hiding in all of his pain. And no I’m not talking about his feelings for Gina cuz I’m gonna be honest, the show acting like it’s deeper than what it actually feels like just feels??? Off??? Idk how to put my finger on it but I realllyyyy think his “feelings” for Gina might not genuinely stem from a romantic place. I really think the love triangle this season has a deeper meaning than the surface level one we’re used to. But we’ll see.

OKAY not the biggest fan of What Do You Know About Love. Did I like it more than I did from the preview? Yes. It was definitely much better in context but legit who tf is mixing the music this season cuz it fell FLAT to me. The song on the broadway soundtrack is SO MUCH FUN TO LISTEN TO AND TO SING. And it’s supposed to convey this playful teasing energy between Kristoff and Anna. IT IS A PIVOTAL SONG TO THEIR RELATIONSHIP. I know Val legit said half energy but with how ricky and Gina were “acting” during the performance idk they thought they ate that performance when they really didn’t im sorry 🧍‍♀️The acting wAS cute overall but I personally was not impressed im sorry guys 😭 I ALSO HATE WHEN THEY EDIT THE LYRICS LIKE JET STILL HAS CURLS???? THE LYRICS STILL??? WORKS???? Idk man I just wasn’t the biggest fan but that’s my own personal opinion lol. it was fine.

OH AND. IM GONNA BE HONEST, ASHLYN HAVING FEELINGS FOR VAL? TOTALLY FEELS OUT OF PLACE? Idk it just feels like there’s no build up to it???? I’m not against it by any means but the inclusion of it to Ashlyn’s arc feels a little off. I feel like it makes sense for her to have a crush on Maddox wHICH could end up being the whole point and is why Maddox is getting it wrong LOL.

This episode was still fun overall but it just feels like a mid season episode that will be way more enjoyable once the whole season is out? I hope that makes sense.

And I do love tragic backstories LOL. But yes, he tries to be good even though he’s very flawed as a person and it makes me so giddy that you see that complexity and enjoy it as much as I do. I just aldjsklajsdkljfdk, I’m gushing. THANK YOU SO MUCH. And of course, Errol and Lorraine are so wonderful together, I feel the exact same way. so the thing is i didn’t have high hopes for this, bc i hated sweetener and people were saying this was like a part 2. and shitting on positions, my favorite ari album, to compare this one. so i’m like i’m gonna hate this. but i am actually so excited bc i like it. i finally have new music to be obsessed w rather than relistening to the same songs over and over.

also just bc i like the album, don’t mean i’m like a homewrecker stan. she gotta chill.

she should’ve kept the red themed cover like i get the message of the new one but it just doesn’t hit the same.

anyways bc i’m a psycopath, i listened out of order bc that’s the only way i can properly listen idk y.

YASSSSSSS. again we know i love a 90s vibe. the slowdown right before the chorus is insaane. and the choral style harmonies on the “is” of the boy is mine scratches something in my brain as well as the “gotta be a reason why” robotic voice thing. this is so catchy. this is totally a fantasize vibe. so good. 10/10
