Mick Schumacher and his reported new girlfriend, Y/N L/N, family friend of George Russell, snuck off for some time alone at the Emilia Romagna GP after the second practice session on Friday, where Mick eased through and came out P2. George Russell is recovering from emergency surgery and so Mick has taken his place in the car for the foreseeable. Ok so my (probably wrong) theory about why we havent gotten a title for ep8 is bc I think the last ep of s2 is a "backdoor pilot" for s3 where we get a glimpse of how or who lestat will be telling his pov of everything idk why i think this will happen but for ep8 title to be a spoiler must mean something. I think they will wrap up louis/iwtv book in 7 eps so the extra ep might be the pivot to lestat or not lol idk

From my understanding, IWTV Daily have said that it is not clear which of the titles relate to what episodes and, looking through the list again, I do strongly suspect it is not in order. At this point we can't say for certain then that it is the eighth episode title that is missing.

I can't verify IWTV Daily's source for this information, and I do not know enough about how the WGA works to make a definitive claim about it, but these titles have not been officially announced, and so I think we shouldn't treat it like a teaser where the eighth episode title is being tantalisingly withheld.

As to what the eighth episode will be about, I do agree that there is going to be lead in to the third season, but I don't believe that it will be (and frankly I hope it won't be) a soft pilot or reboot of the series as Lestat's memories take centre stage.

Louis doesn't really have a resolution or ending in the original book (which is thematically true to the central question that the story is asking: what if we are never able to move past our feelings of guilt, grief and regret?), his story just peters out. While I am perhaps more cynical and pessimistic than others about Louis, if I had to speculate, I think the eighth episode would primarily revolve around Louis considering how he could, finally, begin to move forward. And I think the way that Louis may attempt to do this (and, if I am correct, there will be a very interesting discussion about whether this is actual progress or merely another angle from which Louis can contemplate the same thing) is to interrogate Lestat.

Idk what it will take for people to realize that there is NO CONNECTION between truth teller, the Starsword and The Dusk Court because the tale of those weapons creation, theft from Fionn and the disappearance of the Starsword happened before any of the courts existed.

It would take a major retcon on SJM’s part to make that fan theory true. That’s not to disparage all Dusk Court theories bc I think many of them are cool, but I feel like people treat truth teller - Dusk Court as canon when it’s not. I know there are people proud to have not actually read Silver Flames, but it’s never more blatant then when this topic comes up. The history of the Starsword is PRE Courts. The history of truth teller is PRE COURTS. The disappearance of the sword, and the trove, is PRE Courts. When will it click that we cannot make those connections until SJM gives us more history on the creation of the courts, let alone confirmation of dusk?? Like who is the author here ??🤦🏿‍♀️

You bring up an excellent point.

Everything we learn of Theia and the Starsword in CC is based on her time in Midgard, a place she entered during the crossing. But she had a life before the crossing. The sword had a different history before the crossing:

"one of the Fae heroes who rose up to overthrow them was Fionn, who was given the great sword Gwydion by the High Priestess Oleanna, who had dipped it into the Cauldron itself. Fionn and Gwydion overthrew the Daglan. A millennium of peace followed, and the lands were divided into rough territories that were the precursors to the courts.

"But at the end of those thousand years, they were at each other's throats, on the brink of war."

"Fionn unified them and set himself above them as High King. The first and only High King this land has ever had."

"Fionn was betrayed by his queen, who had been a leader of her own territory, and by his dearest friend, who was his general. They killed him, taking some of his bloodline's most powerful and precious weapons".

"and for a while, with that sword, peace had reigned. Until he had been betrayed by his own queen and his fiercest general, and lost the sword to them, and the lands fell into darkness once more."

“No one has been able to create a magic sword in more than ten thousand years,” Amren said. “The last one Made, the great blade Gwydion, vanished around the time the last of the Trove went missing.”

The Starsword was created thousands of years before the land was divided into rough territories. One of those rough territories was probably where the Dusk Court would have officially been had the crossing / tear in their worlds not occurred and my guess is that particular rough territory is where Theia ruled.

And though Amren was in the prison during Fionn's death, she was around for when Gwydion was first made:

"From what I’ve gleaned, she arrived during those years before Fionn and Gwydion rose, and went into the Prison during the Age of Legends—the time when this land was full of heroic figures who were keen to hunt down the last members of their former masters’ race."

Amren was around for Fionn's defeat of the Daglan so I'd say out of all the sources we've got of that time in history, she's the most credible.

It was after Fionn's death, Fionn who did not live with his Queen in what would have probably been Dusk if it had the time to form into an actual court, that some of his "most powerful and precious weapons" were stolen and taken to Midgard.

It really doesn't sound like the Starsword ever really belonged to just Theia and it doesn't sound like it ever spent time in the unofficial Dusk Court since it was stolen then lost (in the crossing).

Some keep saying ACOTARs history is wrong but why would ACOTAR have it's own history wrong especially when they don't have beings like the Asteri hiding the truth from them? How would someone from Midgard, a completely different planet, have a better idea of what happened with Theia when she lived in Prythian, a world they don't even know about? That's like Feyre telling Bryce she knows more about Midgard history than Bryce herself.

And if ACOTARs history is wrong.....how is it going to be corrected by Bryce? Even with Bryce being able to use the Starsword because it recognizes her as "kin", she's not realistically going to be able to say "oh by the way, even though this is the first time I'm learning about your existence, Fionn probably didn't lead your people into battle with Gwydion and it actually belonged to his Queen so it's time to rewrite your history books." "Amren, I know you were alive during that time but everything you think is false". Amren may have been in the prison during Fionn's fall but she arrived before Gwydion arose and did not go into the Prison until they were hunting down the last of the Daglan which means she knew of Gwydions origin and was around for Fionn to originally defeat the Daglan in battle.

And yes Aidas, "Snarled. That sword belongs to Theia's female heir. Not the male offspring who corrupted her line" but Aidas was in love with Theia, a Prince of Hel (is he really the most trustworthy source?). And he's basically saying the general who killed his beloved passed on the sword to his lineage versus it rightfully belonging to Theia's daughters. But again.....he's talking about Theia as he knew her on Midgard and as an angry ex lover who hates Pelias. Talking about her as she was when she came over with the sword.

Do we have any idea of Aidas knows the origins of Gwydion and who it truly belonged to?

And while the sword responds to Bryce:

"the Starsword had recognized her, not as a royal worthy Fae, but as kin. Kin to those WHO HAD FORGED it so long ago."

(Gwydion was MADE when it was dipped in the Cauldron - like calls to like and as Amren said, sometimes Made weapons have a mind of their own and they decide when they are going to "show" themselves).

It kind of sounds like the Starsword / Gwydion would respond to anyone "made" or descended from those who were made once it wanted to be found and isn't ACOTAR sort of hinting that all the original super special fae and Illyrians were "made" by the Daglan? Possibly using the Cauldron?

Is it not possible the Starborn were "made" and that's why both Ruhn and Bryce were able to possess the sword (with it responding differently to Bryce because her specific Starborn light has nuances to it:

"I hadn't realized they'd have individualized starlight. I always thought mine was only ... brighter than yours". "I guess it makes sense that there could be nuances to the light amongst the fae that got interbred"

There's obviously missing gaps in all of this, where the Starborn and Illyrians came from, the angels, etc. which I think SJM is about to reveal in CC3.

And the characters in Prythian obviously don't know what happened to Gwydion once it was lost or the "Queen and general that killed Fionn". And Bryce can help them fill in those gaps.

But I just don't believe that Bryce's arrival is going to completely erase ACOTAR's history of Fionn and Gwydion's origins. I think what we're going to see is a merging of the two for a more complete picture and Rhys / Amren, etc. are going to explain what they know of Gwydion before it passed into Theia's hands.

I think the whole baby situation is a bit murky from what I have seen on Twitter. As far as I understand it has been confirmed by official news sources that babies have been killed and a woman has been beheaded (shown/confirmed on BBC apparently) but the beheading part was unconfirmed. Though I am not sure about this so I don't want to claim it's definitely true! But there is the possibility it's not a "no baby is actually dead and propaganda lied that 40 were killed" situation.

theres this fact check on it, it seems beheaded babies is not at all a verified claim and the people who claimed to see it like biden had to backtrack bc that was in fact not true whatsoever. i dont know if one woman was beheaded tho bc thats not even mentioned

that said theres likely childrens who have died, idk about babies but thats possible too. 40 babies beheaded seems to have 0 basis in reality and be a mixture of certain facts, theres no confirmations of neither beheadings or 40 babies being killed.

thank youuuu abt the masterlist! i was contemplating abt reorganization and everything for a while and i knew i didn't want too complicated of a key, but i wanted to be able to delineate a little more than i had in my last one between my more serious fics and my more silly fics a la dr_magic lol (and i also wanted to take the opportunity to unofficially "archive" some older fics of mine that i feel like aren't as representative of me as a writer anymore but i also didn't really want to delete either, so the old mlist is my "archive masterlist" now with all my fics pre-love bites) ;; and on that height inclusivity note, i myself am 5'8/172cm ish, so i know when i personally read fics where like kun is supposed to be towering over the reader it completely takes me out bc like. i am not delusional that man is 1 inch taller than me. i would be taller than him with some thick-soled shoes try again lol. i put on my platform doc martins and its OVER for him. i don't consider anybody "tall" unless they're noticeably taller than me (which is usually 5'11ish, but i call it at 180cm international for good measure. sicheng's official height is like 179cm/5'10.5" so if i'm feeling nice i'll include him in the tallies club. esp now that he's the tallest wayv member and he just absolutely towers over wayv tinie line lmao). i know it's the sort of heads-up i'd like as a reader, esp considering how some writers seem a bit. obsessed with the reader-insert being absolutely tiny and smaller than every member (which hey! some readers are actually 4'11 and dejun would be huge compared to them!) but when it's mentioned not only in every fic but in fics w members who are canonically shorter than me irl it just so detracts from the moment for me.

i've been going back to edit stuff for moments where i thoughtlessly mentioned the reader blushing/turning pink or gripping smth so hard their knuckles turn white, in addition for the random dozen cameos that are in quite a few (don't get me started on sleepless cinderella,,,, idk what i'm doing with her yet other than fixing skin tone refs). i got an ask a couple years ago abt the blushing in one of my fics, actually, and while i changed the specific instance right then, as well as made sure not to reference skin tone in my future writings, i know that people still find my older fics and i personally just kind of,,, idk cringe? when i revisit old fics and they've got skin tone refs in them like that. bc it doesn't represent the writer i am now, and i hate for people to think that it's representative of me and my fics currently. so yeah, i'm slowly working through fixing old fics for those bits and the dozen references too

the bite is actually a kun fic (u may be confusing it w baby fangs? which is a mark wip, and i can see how the titles would get confusing) but we do in fact get some loserxloser content in BOTH the bite and baby fangs yep yep i love writing losers in love its trueeee. they flirt about fax machines and it's truly soulmate behavior im afraid (the bite!mc literally says "i think men with fax machines are sexy, especially personal fax lines" like somebody COME GET UR BESTIE SHE IS CRINGEFAILING ON MAIN RN!! and kun adores her and her cringefail flirting ehhehe)

okay long ask part 2/3 now onto LOVE BITES omg i know its only been a few weeks since changer was released but i missed these two so much. your description of sungchan as a weighted blanket was so cuddly and delicious i just love him he's such a big puppy even though you said jenos a puppy and sung is a wolf hes still just a little guy to me (he is 185 centimetres, taller than most refrigerators) the way you write sungchan is just so great, the way hes just a big sweaty guy and has little insecurities that him and reader work through makes him feel so real and so vulnerable in an endearing way. also when reader pulled out the old photos of sung and taro from mr jung i was DYING. like "little dweebus uniform" is so relatable, we all have skeletons (terrible photos from primary/elementary school) in our closets (parents houses) when reader and taro are texting and reader is like "my little guy :( so uwuw" and taro is like "that fucken TREE OF A GUY?!" and "IS THIS YOUR MANS?!" with the horrifying close up i felt very seen and also got a very helpful reminder to burn all my group photos from school. honestly there are so many quotes from love bites that i want to frame but um……. mel what is this "You didn’t deserve to ever feel… an aching hole, because of me.” 🤨🤨🤨😏😏😏 i KNOW you know what you did and honestly i was so close to screaming and throwing my phone across the room when it happened. but you know what? changer sungchan unintentionally saying the craziest innuendo whilst trying to make a sincere apology is probably the most fitting thing for his character. anyways, thank you for slotting in dirty jokes for us because its so unexpected and funny. i think thats all i have to say about love bites! thank you for taking the time to write the most amazing, comforting, sweet and funny story. - ✨anon

changer sungchan IS a big puppy but don't say that to his face or he'll pout abt it </33 also idk why "taller than most refrigerators" made me laugh so hard but it did. comparing men to refrigerators for height reference is just a very funny concept to me.

i also LOVED writing taro and reader's continuing bickering friendship throughout the fic i thought they were fantastic and i did in fact make myself laugh a couple different times, esp writing out the texts with the mathletes pictures. i also loved being able to show that reader was just as delusional whipped IN LOVE abt sungchan as sungchan was for reader. like being absolutely endeared and heart eyes abt your s/o's dorky old school pictures while simultaneously roasting your mutual friend who is also in those same pictures for being dorky. mwah, chef's kiss, i love them and rip taro

OKAY FINALLY PART 3/3 for the timeline question hmmmmmmm i dont know i think i kind of just assumed that the fics were coming out in chronological order but now im not sure????? like obv for the ones with sequels the sequel is after the first but like the rest its all kinda up in the air for me. so like, changer is after pupsick because in sung got with changer!reader because of pupsick!reader and friends. dr magic i assume is happening between pupsick and changer or at the same time as changer because renjun seemed very much single during pupsick because he was at the cafe FAST when pupsick!reader called him and during dr magic, renjun was very much busy between meeting drmagic!reader to witness her pepe silvia arc, being dr magic and studying. tdhea imo is before pupsick just cause all the dreamies have way too much time on their hands to tease and get frustrated about jisung and tdhea!reader and imo that's peak single behaviour because like i said before, renjun was a BUSY BOY during dr magic and jeno was literally sick during most of pupsick so he wouldn't be as spritely as he is during tdhea. for romance is dead and strawberry sunday i literally have no clue, i just assumed that they were both early on considering they were released first. its also just a lot harder because theres only one strawbsun fic for 127 and wayv each so there's less overlap in the members and just less context clues to go off of. but i'd love to know just how wrong i am in my assumtions (if you're willing to give up such information) and compare it with what everyone else thinks - ✨anon

okay so ur timeline looks like:

rid/miracle/strawberry sunday > tdhea > pupsick/abh > dr_magic2303 > changer/love bites

which isn't too far off other than the placing of rid/miracle, which makes sense bc that one kind of has the least context with the other fics. here's my official timeline (sans some unofficial wips) that i've been working off of as soon as i realized this was going to be a lot more than 3 fics. i based the general years off of strawberry sunday!reader/jungwoo's college career (they're in sophomore yr in their fic). the whole crew is generally all the same year, though, so the years are pretty accurate for everybody

i don't have an official diagnosis or anything but it's funny how having a physical disability can blind everyone to the possibility that you may be neurodivergent

like i am missing an eye and have less-than-excellent vision and everyone jumped to that as an explanation for things that, in hindsight, are very common symptoms of autism, whether or not i have enough of them to qualify as Actually Autistic

I'm not sensitive to bright lights but i used to get physically sick (nauseous to the point of throwing up sometimes) at every single party i went to/every time (admittedly v few) i went out, and now i recognise that it was DEFINITELY severe sensory overload from crowds+loud music+flashing/strobing lights, but when I talked about it to parents and doctors they went "idk? maybe the fact that you only have one eye means you can't process strobing lights and it makes you motion sick?"

i started walking on tiptoes from the moment i started walking, which i've now learned is like A Blatant Sign your child may have The Autimsm, but doctors told my parents it was prob bc i had v bad vision as a toddler (which was true, i was almost blind) and couldn't see adults' faces well so walked on tiptoes to be closer to their face to see them more clearly

i have (and have always had) v noticeable facial tics (blinking, scrunching up my eyes, grimacing intensely when concentrating) and ppl were just like ah yes prob a low vision/prosthetic discomfort problem when i had v good glasses and the most comfortable prosthetic available

i'm very, very, very uncomfortable in crowds (too much pressing too many different sources of noise not enough space to breathe no easy way to get out) and it hit me like a truck when i went back into "the world" after my year in hospital and it took me years to stop defaulting to "oh it's prob bc i have mobility issues now and feel uncomfortable being less fast and mobile in crowds than i used to be or bc i have been made uncomfy by my experience of being in a wheelchair in crowds (which, tbf, crowds suck to wheelchair users)" (when, cf above, crowds + sensory overload used to make me throw up)

idk it's just amusing to notice this kind of stuff

A bit of social media vent.

After limiting my Twitter time, I feel better. I'm cleaning up my dash by unfollowing some ppl there, simply bc this site got so much worse with an algorithm that you can't follow many ppl without completely losing posts from big chunk of them!

Also, some big artists talk about how "social media is inheritly bad to artists, and it designed to punish us, so go join discord communities and interact a lot to have growing," which by itself is partly right.

I'm saying partly bc it wasn't like this before. All this stupid algorithm and punishing ppl for not making content every day is a thing of recent years! So this advice would work back then perfectly, but it's not really working now!

And this is what infuriates me, bc many ( who also white) big artists don't feel the effect of those changes. They have shit ton of engagement since they grew when this site was much less hostile, while small artists struggle so damn much right now. I can tell that past 2 years the situation on Twitter got from shitty to worse. Small artists keep talking about this, but big artists don't want to hear any of this. It feels like they're saying "shut up and accept your fate bc every platform is like this".

Which is not true, bc Tumblr doesn't hide my posts from my followers, KO-Fi also doesn't hide anything, Picarto doesn't hide posts as far as I can see. Only Twitter and Instagramm decided to screw ppl over that I have to cull my following list so I have higher chances of seeing art from ppl I really want!

Only on Twitter you will miss posts EVEN if you set your dash to "Latest Tweets" that supposed to show all tweets in chronological order. Twitter will hide your posts if you mention ANYTHING with money, words like commission, Patreon, sales etc. Twitters will hide tweets if it has a link in them. Twitter will hide your posts for tags. Twitter will hide your posts for nothing!

And playing by those rules is exhausting and discouraging, bc they constantly change! Your only chance in luck, like if a big artist RT your art, but with help the result won't stick since you start losing followers shortly after, so in order to grow consistently, you need this luck all the time. Which is not possible.

I know they try to help, but like they unknowingly play into "big vs small artist" Twitter culture too. Following number badly distorts the image how people see you.

So that why I want to be more active here now, while keep Twitter like some sort of hub? Like an official account or something. Idk how this gonna work, but I'm willing to try bc I'm stuck with no progress for a long time and shit got harder. Twitter became extremely hostile, esp for artists.

I'm just really curious what gonna happen if I put my attention on Tumblr for example.

I know that numbers aren't anything and they don't guarantee a lot of money, but they rise changes to get some business bc you have higher visibility and higher chance that someone will commission you or join your Patreon. It's extremely important for ppl like me, who do art, but live in a country where art means nothing and doesn't sell well. We can't go and network with peers outside of the internet.

Social media is the only source of income in our case, please understand this!

okay so if we're doing a good phole s5 i feel like the place to start to really tee em up for success is season 4 because black as cole is when it all really started to go downhill i loved belthazor cole that was def my fav version of him so rather than bring up his dicey past or make him human i'd just keep him belthazor and instead of source cole as our main s4 plot we have defeating the source as our main task (and then once he's defeated, realizing that he was kinda just the seer's bitch and now we have to defeat the seer) And Then Also getting cole's father's soul back from the brotherhood of the thorn, something that was teased like it was gonna be a plot, and then abandoned. so we're getting that character development from cole as we see phoebe was not the first time he felt love, he loved his father, and like kind of strip away this hardened, cold blooded, sexy killer in favor for a man who is really vulnerable and whose childhood was fucked up but who really wants a second chance to try for a family and you know what kinda so does phoebe

but phoebe's not fully ready to have kids yet i mean like new job she's still trying to get her feat under her hell new sister like life isn't necessarily stable rn per se so let's maybe slow our roll

and cole also isn't like. let's have babies!! because he's still a demon and she's still a charmed one and they don't know what that'll cook up but it's both agreed between the two of them that they want a family

maybe we speed up piper's pregnancy because we'll have had room in s4 for more of that and we give cole and phoebe a babysitting day and their both like woah woah woah woah and piper's like hey don't you want one of these it's a perfect trial run

and of course it's a mess and there's like multiple demon attacks and oh my god what the fuck aaaaaaaaaaa but like. they do save the day. and like in the end cole's holding wyatt bouncing him up and down and wyatt coos and like phoebe's like that's my man <3 and they realize like you know what. they can do this. they can like. like yes this is a lot but like. we're a great team

so like maybe they put wyatt down to sleep and like they're watching over him it's the end of the day and they're like we could do a family. there's no one i would want to do a family with more than you.

and cole's like okay well i know a pretty good place to start phoebe halliwell will you marry me

and we do a proper phole wedding i don't want it in the manor bc we already did that but i also don't want it as a church i think i've said before i think they would do like a nature wedding or a beach wedding or like a forest wedding (with elise officiating) and we get vows proper vows i was born the day you loved me type shit you know

and they also move out well maybe they moved out in season four no because they just got married we'll say they moved out in season five and dude fuck that penthouse fr you want me to believe that phoebe halliwell lived in that stale ass location there was no life there there was no love there

i would love to see them in maybe like a beach house really because ik cole really appreciates the finer things but something that still has the undeniable feeling of home and the place is covered in photos and you know there are like cinnamon brooms and sage bundles hanging from the ceiling because well phoebe's a witch and it's just a house that feels lived in a place where you can feel love from the moment you cross the threshold

and i think like phoebe has this tendency to fall asleep on the couch whenever they're watching tv because unless it's a horror movie unless it's something like actively keeping her on the edge of her seat like she just conks out so usually cole will just carry her to bed and sometimes phoebe like kind of wakes up when he's carrying her but she really just nuzzles into his chest a little more and mutters a small i love you and lets him tuck her in because she never feels more safe than she does when she's with cole

and sometimes when phoebe's asleep cole will kind of just pace around the house and like look at all the pictures on the wall and just the life itself teeming from the place and it almost makes him cry because never in a million years did he think he was ever gonna be this happy that he was even going to get even just a taste of this but here he is safe his wife asleep in the bedroom family picture on the wall and like. he's just overcome with love

it's actually in s5 that cole figures out his powers can have different triggers rather than the standard demonic hate or rage and it's kinda like in avatar the last airbender when zuko is like well now my firebending sucks because i used by hate to power it now what do i do but they go find the origin of life bringing fire and find that it's so much more than a tool of destruction yeah cole kind of goes through that

he realizes that he doesn't need to be ruled by these negative feelings or his haunted past in order to use his powers yes he's still "demonic" in the technical term but he moves so far past that really into a new stage of magic

oh and we're still doing the cinderella episode. the fairytale episode whatever. because i want something where phoebe wears a ballgown an actual proper ballgown not that ugly ass shit she had on my god and descends the steps and cole's waiting there in a suit and maybe it's a masquerade ball one of elise's crazy gimmicks and phoebe's at the top of the stairs looking down and it's just a sea of people in masks and yet in spite of that she can pick out cole immediately and it really does feel like a fairytale ending maybe we get a good old fashioned true love's kiss to so something relevant to the plot

remember when I was gonna write that parkner fic?

cool so I've decided I'm gonna, but because I cannot write for SHIT and I hate my writing every time I see it, ill just share my outline of what I have so far. its not coherent. sorry.

Section one: aunt may dies. It’ll be like “it's been 3 months. 3 months since May was shot. 2 months and 3 weeks since she died.”

Something like that idc. Basically this section will base around peter living tony, because he’s not doing well, and he is only 17- which is not actually old enough to be on your own after something like this. Setting is established, with cameos from dr strange (who tony is dating and lives with (yeah bite me, this is my fanfiction i can make it what i want.) it will be made obvious that this takes place after endgame, which also means that tony is Not going to die. I’m not that mean lmao. The avengers are like largely together, there was not as much death in this as there was in endgame. Whatever. Everyone is very nice to peter because they know that for him its either this or him becoming a ward of the state so like.

Section two: harley gets kicked out. His mom finds out that he’s gay (from gossip sources idk) and kicks harley out. Im not going to write them having a big fight like in the moment, but harley will recount what happened somewhat to tony in this section, and then more to peter later in the story. Gay ppl trauma dump, we know this. Okay anywaysss so harley calls tony literally sobbing and like freezing fucking cold. IM SORRY IM BEING SO MEAN TO THEM I PROMISE THEY'LL GET A HAPPY ENDING. Okay. harley explains how his mom kicked him out. Tony asks why, harley says something like “she didn’t agree with my lifestyle choices” like bitterly. Tony is a good person in this (i know, im really taking some character liberties) and he’s in the mood for collecting strays apparently, so he has happy send over the quinjet. He can’t make it himself bc hes in fucking japan or something for the next few weeks,, but. Yeah! Tony also calls peter, who is presumably in bed and feeling depressed. “Hey pete. How ya feeling? Any better?’ ‘Not really, tony. Sorry.’ ‘you don’t have to be sorry-’ ‘damn tony you sound like my therapist.’ “sorry pete, but i do have something to tell you- you know harley?’ ‘only from what you’ve told me about him, but yea. He was the tennessee garage kid, right?’ ‘i mean. Yes. so- he’s gonna come stay with me for a while too- it might not be permanent but it will probably be a bit. He’s about your age, and he just has no where to go (just like u). He’s not going to stay in your room or anything, but with bruce and thor here, he will be in your apartment area.’ ‘okay tony.. Will i have to talk to him a bunch?’ ‘not if you don’t want to- i already warned him about you, so it should be okay. I wouldn’t worry so much pete- you guys are so similar in a lot of ways that i wanted to introduce you two long before he called me.’ ‘okay tony, i trust you. Thank you again for letting me stay with you :)’ (yeah that kind of got away from me)

Section 3: build up. this is a shorter section. Harley and peter are gonna meet in section 4. This section is harley’s jet ride (with an intuitive happy) and harley’s nerves about how he really isn’t worth this (i mean hes pretty intimidated tony sent a private jet just for him) and happy like reassures him. Hes still insecure though. Peter is also nervous bc what if harley doesn’t like him? What if he doesn’t like harley?? Tony did say they would get along, but peter hasn’t really been himself recently, so who knows? Yeah lots of that. I do want to emphasize though- peter is not completely unhealthily coping. Like he has a therapist and he has been reaching out to ned and mj, but its still an open wound for him. Obviously. He still has a sense of humor though, but its to cover these deep insecurities. Like the first month or so that he was with tony, he was reallllyyyy trying to not get close to him bc he sort of thinks he kills everyone around him. Like logically he knows this isn’t true, but he does really think the that non superheroes that he surrounds himself with are very at risk if they know about his spider-man-ness. The only people who know now are ned and mj (may knew too).

Section 4: the meeting of harley and peter. Keep in mind peter has been living in this apartment/area of stark tower for about 3 months now. He actually moved in while may was in the hospital because he couldn’t stand to be alone in the apartment when he knew why may wasn’t there. And um. Yeah. so peter is like comfortable in this space, basically. Also- the reason theyre in the same apartment is because stark tower was not really created with the idea of housing broken orphans in mind, so it only has a certain amount of residential space. Thor and bruce are currently staying there together (although no one really knows if theyre together, or if theyre just best bros who went through some extreme trauma together and are now inseparable. Hmmm wonder if thats gonna come up later) and theyre using one apartment, and happy lives there with his own apartment, and tony and stephen are currently sharing the penthouse, even though thats not public knowledge. Really only the people close to tony know that he’s dating stephen. So. this leaves just the one other 2 bedroom apartment for peter and harley. It has one bathroom, and the bedrooms are connected by a door but theyre pretty big so like. Theres a kitchen, a living room with a fancy ass tv, and a really pretty view (with a balcony bc <333). May died in march, peter got leave from the school in april, and it is now the middle of june btw. Tony is now peter’s official guardian (he was before may died anyways) and now has sole guardianship over him which he has fully accepted, even though peter and him both know that there are going to be times where he has to go out of town bc he does own a company after all. Times like right now. Harley is pretty nervous that tony isn’t going to be there to greet him and that he is going to have to like introduce himself to peter and everything. Cmon, theres no reason to feel like that, he’s the one intruding after all, he should at least be able to handle himself. (<--- harley’s thoughts). Yeah so theyre insecure super cool. A n y w a y s so peter was stressing about harley as he arrived, and so when harley walked in they were both complete bundles of nerves. Harley walks up but knocks. Peter actually jumps (bc spidey sense okay whatever) and goes to get the door. Oh my god these awkward teenagers i hate them so much (i love them). Peter kinda looks like shit, sorry king. He was a little bit crying earlier, then tony called and he switched into stressed out ball-of-anxiety mode. Distractions are good, its okay. Peter opens the door for harley and they like introduce each other all awkward (again sorry) and peter shows harley where he is staying. Harley doesnt really have muchhhh bc he was kicked out and all. He just has a suitcase full of clothes, his favorite blanket, his favorite stuffed animal (yeah whatever bc ofc he does) and his phone/charger. He sets all his stuff down at once. He thanks peter for letting him stay in his apartment and also said sorry. First thing peter noticed was harley’s accent. Stfu. peter asks why harley’s here- ok. Harleys had a long ass day. Too fucking long. He- he breaks down. He tells peter a lot. About how his mom found out that he was gay, and how she told him never to come back. Yikes. Anyways, this is establishing the beginning of their relationship as friends. Peter is there for him even though he doesn’t know him at all. Peter sees some of himself in harley in this moment, even though he’s not talking about himself yet. Eventually harley does ask about peter, and they really just get to know each other really quick. They have these deep scarring individual traumas, and neither has nearly recovered, but they find comfort in just knowing that theyre not alone in their suffering. At least for now. At least in this moment.

Section 5: the next day. Peter and harley spent that whole night talking about what they were going through. Peter said good night at around 5 am (there were no adults around they can do what they want to) and they both got good sleeps. In peter’s case, one of the first solid nights he’s had in a while. Harley was kept up a little longer after peter left, however, because he just couldn’t shut off his mind. It was really cathartic for him to just lay everything out there and for someone to just accept him. Peter told him he was bi, but he was.. Lucky. He had accepting people in his life. May was accepting. God, harley couldn’t fathom having lost everyone in his life, everyone he ever cared about, and still having the heart to sit and talk with the dumbass anxious gay kid who can’t go home anymore. His problems felt so small compared to peter’s, and all he could do was admire peter’s resilience and how he was seemingly able to bounce back from anything. God, peter was something. He couldn’t wait to get to know him more. With that thought circling in his head, he finally went to sleep at oh shit 6:30 am. Peter woke up around 1. Harley at 2. When harley woke up, peter was watching tv and eating cereal on the couch and he just sat down next to him. No words, just sleepy children being sleepy. They stayed like this for like an hour when someone knocked on their door. Enter stephen strange!!!!!!!!!!! Get excited people. Hes just coming in to check on them bc tony told him to, and he didn’t get the chance last night bc he was _busy_. K so now he’s here and hes awkward and he just wants to make sure these boys r okay bc theyve both been through too much recently, and it would be just the cherry on top if they didn’t get along. Him and harley had never actually met before so he like introduced himself and all that. Offered like if they needed anything he was there, and its only gonna be a few days until tony gets back (did i say a week earlier? Im retconning that bc i cannot find it in my writing so it is now retconned). Peter and harley just have to sort of explain to dr strange that theyre getting along gREAT and there is no need for concern….. And peter was even thinking about showing harley around the city a bit that night (something he had not yet told harley, but wanted to make it seem like he was doing well and not acting too depressed in front of Dr. Strange) so dr strange is like yeah !!!!!! do that, that sounds super fun petey !!!!!! and so now they have evening plans

ok ps I wrote this like 2 weeks ago and completely forgot I posted something on Tumblr about this fic idea, and so this is literally just how I talk to myself. was not gonna ever post this but then I decided to because I'm bored. there are more sections but I'm not gonna post them rn because this post is really fucking long already!!!!

ramblings about unreality, the BoP, and the journal:

ngl i'm hella late to the party and i'm still not super familiar with what ideas and theories have been made regarding khux shit, unreality shit, etc. these are thoughts i had after rewatching recoded.

i know the maleficent/book scene isn't novel, but i wanna ramble about it anyway.

a question i had when listening to some khux talk: is it agreed that MoM made unreality? bc we know he hid there, right. idk how or since when, i'm guessing it's where he originally disappeared to.

But what's our understanding of that scene in the khux finale, where MoM's telling Darkness about the fictional world, the world he couldn't even conceive? Where neither light or darkness rules?

i've only watched that scene a few times, and i'm not clear on whether MoM's talking about the fictional world as if it already exists, or something he's envisioning.

pff i can't even organize my thoughts lmao. So, my guess at this point is that MoM was envisioning/imagining this world where neither light or darkness rules (and where voices and eyes can't reach but idk what dictates THAT particular rule). By simply imagining/thinking of it, i don't think it resulted in that world becoming real. Cause i thought he said something about that idea having to be "realized", but rewatching that specific scene, he doesn’t. If anyone knows for sure if he ever mentioned something like this i’d appreciate confirmation. [EDIT: MoM does specify putting your imagining into realization in the fan translation, which is more direct/literal and often times more accurate than the official localization…🤷🏽‍♀️]

But—IF it's not enough to /just/ think of it, and you do have to literally put it into realization—. My interpretation of what that means is, you know, putting the idea into action. /Making/ it real. Manifesting it. And that can happen any number of ways. Namely, in this case, putting it on paper. In the Book.

THE BOOK, UGH. The recoded scene. I know it kinda basically confirms that the book can create worlds but again i wanna scream about it a little.

But first. So far, i have that idea. Now as for the actual sequence of events, mmm. My brain goes all over the place for that one. Bc before rewatching those scenes, the question took form of "what came first? the chicken or the egg?" bc an idea i had heard was that Verum Rex, the game, could be a documentation of what's going on in unreality. And i've been flip flopping on that.

for me it would depend on whether unreality as we see it was spawned (that's the word i use) as soon as MoM originally thought of it, and wrote it down. Bc then Verum Rex could be made in the image of that world. On the other hand, if Verum Rex is like, 'additional' realization of the /idea/, then that would mean the game came before (most/some of) the world. But i think the first option is more likely.

So MoM conceived the world --> MoM wrote about it in the Book --> the world became real --> SOMEONE made the world into a game

and that gets into my thoughts about who tf has access to unreality, at least to the extent that they can see into it and observe it, and how. and obv, square enix (in kh) made the game. and square enix is literally "the powers that be" so. kinda an obvious option. but anyway.

i covered my main points ig. so time to scream about how tf this even could happen and why. not that i have any actual answers bc how tf could a book make worlds.

recoded. GOD, RECODED. If i didn't already ramble about HOW the Book could make worlds then i'm about to.

idek where to start lmao. Maleficent. she brings up the book, after she and pete have been rescued/released from the datascape.

(And what IS the datascape exactly? WHAT does it encompass? is the datascape in recoded strictly the data made from the journal? like, could there be multiple datascapes based on different source materials, or based in different devices/computers? ????)

“Yes, considering legend has it the book can conjure, making an entire world filled with beings and powers that have yet to exist.”

So that's just there. We've seen this. So this is assuming we can take the legend as (probable) fact. I'm assuming the Book really /can/ make worlds.

this next part about fairy tales i'm including to like cover my bases and see if anyone has thoughts about it bc i have not thought too much about the concept of fairy tales in kh and what it could mean:

(the quote not maleficent lol) I know that early theories and probably current one's still, suggested unreality/quadratum/other-shibuya were data worlds, or something akin to them. and i mean, yeah, i wondered too, bc of the glitchy stuff with sora’s heart station in the secret episode.

but also, like. this whole world manifested "outside" of kh's reality. like, is it even possible that it COULD be /just/ data? As in, could data just exist on it's own like that? (or is there more? if the part of unreality we see /is/ data, is it only the data aspect of a bigger whole? i've seen a theory talk about this, is why i even bring it up)

If what we see of unreality so far is data, like, does that data exist within something? does it /need/ to?

and if unreality is data, like. i feel like it'd have to be different than that data worlds we see in kh. pure guesswork, but i feel like it's /more/ than just data worlds. /Bigger/.

"how does [world created by the BoP] differ from [datascape of the journal]?" thats the thing, too. essentially, what's the difference between the Book, and the journal.

okay well might as well address this while i’m here. my guess is that there IS no difference. there is no difference between the BoP and fucking jiminy’s journal, ability wise. We know the BoP doesn’t actually predict the future, it was simply written in the past after the future had taken place.

inherently, there’s no difference.

the difference between their CONTENTS however. one accounts the future (that has already happened, this is kinda important imo). the other records the past.

two things they both share. 1) the events in both books already happened 2) we saw them happen. in reality.

just like the past is fixed and unchangeable, so is the future (bc it’s already happened). We know this.

so what ISNT fixed and unchangeable? if literally all of time IS?

fiction.

okay, well, duh.

this is where my ideas become pure assumptions.

my guess is that like i said, neither of these books holds any special power over the other. and if my next guess is right, then neither of these books holds any special power over literally any other book (in kh).

this has no bearing on my main points above. (did MoM not discover unreality, did he THINK of it? i think he did. did MoM write his idea in the BoP? i think he did. did writing it down result in the idea manifesting as a world? i think it did.)

the idea is that ANY book [any MEDIUM, for that matter (books, shows, movies, games)] can create worlds. THIS world (or these, that we’ve seen in the secret ending and secret episode) is just the only one we’ve been shown.

i could not tell you how. and i could not tell you why. the only guess i currently have is that fictional ideas (given a medium) create worlds bc that’s Just How Things Work in kh. like, it’s literally just the laws of physics of kh.

For SOME fucking reason, fictional worlds given a medium spawn real worlds, outside of kh. hence, unreality. (bc they’re outside of kh reality, and bc they’re Not Real. fictional)

What about the BoP and the journal then? The shit in there doesn’t manifest as a separate world because it has already manifested in reality. That’s why i was saying it was important that the future already happened. bc if you wrote about a hypothetical future, not simply recorded the future as witnessed through your time traveling eyeball, then that would therefore be fiction. even if it’s based on the real world, this hypothetical future would not consist of real world events. An AU, basically. like real world=canon, hypothetical future=noncanon (fanfiction oop) (nonfiction vs fiction)

so if you wrote your fake future shit, it would hypothetically spawn as a world in unreality. IF the idea of the creation of worlds through fictional ideas given a medium pans out lmao.

On the other hand, the power to create worlds really could be special to the BoP or MoM himself. but the reason i don’t assume that in the first place is due to his wording in his khux scene.

“If you imagine hard enough, you can make anything a reality.” (maybe it’s just phrasing. maybe only he has the power and he’s just not specifying it but 🤷🏽‍♀️)

this brings me to Pete in kh2 LMAO LEGIT i just remembered that one theory video about how the fuck pete manifested a whole ass time capsule world by WISHING for it. if all it takes is JUST IMAGINING (in the case of fictional ideas) and WISHING (in the case of real world events), that would throw this whole post out the window lmao.

if imagining ISNT enough, and you DO have to go through the step of /realizing/ your idea, by giving it a MEDIUM, then.

and the reason i stick so much to the concept of giving things MEDIUMS is bc of khux. and this is all based on the english versions of the game.

at this point i’m not even connecting random dots, i’m scribbling all over a blank page but. it reminded me of time travel. to time travel, you leave your body behind, resulting in just a heart. to restore the body, the physical form, you need two things at your destination. Someone with memories of you, and a medium.

a mental/non-physical element, and a physical one.

memories could equate to imagining. a medium to restore the physical form could equate to a medium through which to express a fictional idea. and these two things combined results in a physical manifestation. Except one process restores real people in reality, and the other process creates people/places in unreality. (bc worlds don’t time travel or do they oh god)

the likely thing is that these two things aren’t related at all, esp since i’m working with the assumption that the second process even exists.

there’s also this random google definition of the word medium as it relates to computers: “a particular form of storage for digitized information, such as magnetic tape or discs” 🤷🏽‍♀️

another random idea/question regarding the process by which we’ve seen mediums result in worlds. the journal was converted into data with mickeys fucking macbook computer/machine. and that resulted in the worlds and people written about in the journal being recreated as data, hence data worlds and data characters. (and real people can enter data too without necessarily being data themselves but that’s a random note)

would the writings in the BoP require a similar process? or any other book/medium for the matter? obviously it wouldn’t be the exact same process or it’d just result in a data world, and a fictional data world would just be a video game at that point. is writing it at all the process? i mean i already assumed it is but just thinking.

i thought maybe Verum Rex could have been the process for this world specifically. The video game could be the writing converted into data but i don’t think the time aligns. Like, Verum Rex is like the best selling game right now. and MoM conceived and potentially wrote the idea down back in the age of fairy tales. I don’t know what time shenanigans could explain that time gap.

imo the wildest part of this whole thing is just the assumption that writing down a fictional idea results in the creation of a whole ass world in a whole different plane of existence lmao. like i said, i could not guess as to why this would be the case, only that it could just be part of the physics in kh world. Action, reaction. Conception, manifestation.

if anything, this whole concept of ideas becoming worlds would just be a fourth wall thing. get an idea, put it on paper, make worlds. ofc everyone has recognized the meta-ness of all this lmao i’m here trying to rationalize it in-game.

i had more quotes i didn’t add lol, in regards to the similarities between the BoP and the journal. it’s kinda additional stuff about why i do or don’t assume the things i do. (the first maleficent quote is the biggest tho for me)

So clearly they’re telling us to LOOK for the connections between the journal and the book. is it for proof that the book of prophecies CAN make worlds?

and also, does it make worlds OUTSIDE of kh BECAUSE you can’t change fate? it depends on the power of the book, and what gives it that power. (if it’s a power exclusive to the BoP after all)

lmao admittedly, this can be encapsulated by stuff Spuuky said during one of his streams about how Jiminy’s journal is OP bc you could create literally anything by writing it down bc converting it into data would make it real, and able to directly affect and interact with the real world. And at that point i was like bruh it’s not the journal it’s the machine but??? LMAO ARE THEY SO DIFFERENT AFTER ALL, i hate this game

and, another random question, does stuff from unreality manifest in kh? and if it does, does it do it on its own or would someone in kh need to access unreality and carry the ideas back over to kh? i already asked this earlier, and my end assumption for now was that verum rex did NOT just leak into kh by accident, someone brought the idea over. and the reason i don’t think it was MoM is because i’m guessing MoM doesn’t work at square enix in kh (nomura is MoM theories incoming lol). And MoM is hiding in unreality (tho he seems to have been coming back to kh every so often when he sees fit, such as his intervention with xehanort).

I hope its ok to talk about the ending of superstar pledis with you!

Tbh i had this feeling of it ending way back when bighit had their 3rd fiscal event aka this is where bighit publicly talked about seventeen and nuest success. This is the same video where bighit announced the music rythem game they are putting out and have said bighit label ARTISTS aka meaning everyone under the bh brand so this means source and pledis as well, and boom We have superstar ending (which I believe is the same date as the bts one when it ended so coincidence? Lol)

Now I know many will come and say how come we don't see svt in the official release or why gfriend isn't in it. For svt, it similar to gfriend and its contract reasons. They first have to officially not be with dalcom the people behind superstar games. Then give it say a few months and we may see their songs on it. Gfriend is the same, since gfriend is new to the superstar lineup, they have renewed their contract so they may end up in the game next year. Of course I will be surprised if I am VERY wrong with both things and none of this happens but kinda doubt it. Bighit is the one that sort of has final say for some stuff so pledis in return has to do it and these are one of these cases which annoys me because bighit said they (pledis) will do its own thing which yes, is kinda true but not buisness wise. Look at svt not being able to go to mbc for new years all because bighit has a petty fight with them.

Now is it bad they have their own rythem game? Not really. It makes sense if you take into enphyen into consideration. If say bts were to morph the original ssbts game into ssbh. That would be tricky for licensing song wise for enphyen since it's a collab group, not a fully bighit group like txt or bts so to make it easier, they have their own game (reason I'm saying this is bighit legit bought the company that made this new rythem game. You can find details in the superstar bts reddit) so for that I can see why it makes sense. It makes it easier to not use contracts for other companies using your artists music. Of course time will tell with how svt will be added and if it will be just nuest and svt (my gut says yes because of how barely they updated pristin at times but after-school is a maybe since Nana is still with pledis) idk this whole thing makes sense buisness wise but that doesn't mean i like it lol. Its stuff like this with bh I can only sigh at.

yeah I've been having the similar thoughts and came to the same conclusion that that's why ssp is ending. even though it hasn't been officially announced it's likely svt (+Nu'est) will be added to the new bh rhythm game eventually once legal stuff gets sorted out. if I'd known bh was making a new rhythm game before i probably would have seen this coming bc from a business standpoint it totally makes sense. but I really don't pay attention to what bh is doing unless its directly about svt. although as we've seen in this case it doesn't have to be about svt in order to affect them...

I've come to the conclusion that if I don't want to be caught off guard by these kinds of changes i have to start paying attention to bh as a whole and like... i really don't want to do that lmao. its enough work keeping tabs on pledis but now I have to worry about what bh's up to as well? its frustrating

honestly I feel like carats (and potentially fans of other groups that have been aquired like loves and buddies, but I won't try to speak for them) have got the shortest end of the stick when it comes to the bh aquisition. like svt has probably been affected in some ways but like... in ssp's case for example it's not really much of a difference to them whether their songs are on one rhythm game or another. but it means a lot to fans that have dedicated a lot of time and/or money in the app + the more expensive merch is only a negative for the fans

and although this isn't something bh directly caused/intended, the aquisition has created more 'fanwars'. which isn't to say every fan of a bh/bhl group is toxic or bad bc I wholeheartedly don't think that's the case, and i don't hate any fandom in particular for the actions of individuals. but it would be hard to argue that there hasn't been more conflict within fandom spaces due to the aquisition

ahh sorry! i know the point of your ask was more about the logistics of switching to the new rhythm game after ssp and i ended up going into a mini rant about the bh aquisition. i just didn't have much to add in terms of the business logistics of it bc I totally agree that what you said is likely the case dhfkgj and i do understand why bh would make the decision to end ssp

Some sources state Schiller have ignored Christiane at Goethes house. Like he despise her and Goethe because of her. Maybe do you know where is the information from? I don't remeber the sources, but I've read this quite a lot.

pheew, there is no easy answer to that question and i don’t have all the sources at hand rn and no time to do proper research so what i write now might be biased by my personal memory and interpretation but here’s what i remember (edit: ups, novel ahead):

so the thing with Christiane was that

a) she was from a ‘simpler’ background than people would have liked a women who was the woman at Goethe’s side to be

b) during most of the time of their relationship Goethe didn’t marry her - and I say that he didn’t marry her bc I am quite sure that she would have liked to get married to him (earlier) and also would have benefited greatly from being married to him. While Goethe may have had his reasons to not get married it left Christiane in a very difficult position. She was left with no offical standing in society, she couldn’t accompany her partner to events, couldn’t receive (official) guests, couldn’t parttake in activities etc. because officially she didn’t exsist. That doesn’t mean however that people didn’t know about her. They knew very well and they didn’t approve of the relationship in any way. People were scandalized how Goethe could live like that, unmarried with a woman of low education, not from a high society family or, how they put it, how he could share the bed with his housekeeper - an idea repeated even today even though it absolute bs of course. Christiane was not his housekeeper. (Even though she did run the household obviously as any wife would have.) They had a very intense, romantic and sensual relationship and had moved in together very shortly after haven fallen in love head over heels almost at first sight and even though Goethe himself was facing difficulties because of it with his friend and sponsor, the Duke (Herzog) of Weimar, Carl August. If I remember correctly they at first weren’t allowed to live in their later home at the Frauenplan in the center of town but had to live in the house that is today known as Goethe’s Garden House a little outside of town.

And so to Schiller. Schiller’s wife Charlotte (I’m going to call her Lotte from now on for less confusion) was very close friends with Charlotte von Stein, a very important figure in Weimar’s high society and Goethe’s quasi ex-girlfriend who particulary despised Christiane as Goethe had left her and turned to Christiane after his trip to Italy.

I’ve said earlier that people didn’t approve of Christiane and of Goethe’s living with her. That was very mildly put. They hated her. Made fun about her, gossiped, called her names as nice as “a round nothing” or “das Mensch”, which translates roughtly to ‘the’ or ‘that human’ but in German the phrase uses the neuter article instead of the masculine one which usually goes with “Mensch” which makes the term very strong and dehumanizing.

She was socially outlawed, women refrained from visiting Goethe’s house in fear of meeting her and becoming a subject of gossip themselves.And well as I said, Charlotte von Stein as someone who was very important and as someone who particulary didn’t like Christiane was one of the leading figures in that scheme. (One time Christiane made the mistake of sending her a cake for her… birthday? and not enclosing a note but instead have the maid who brought the cake verbally say greetings and also say out loud who the cake was from and as other people were present Charlotte was outraged and mortified as she apparently had been humiliated in front of all her guests)

And Lotte as her friend and also as a women of high morality adopted and/or shared that attitude towards Christiane in many aspects. I wouldn’t hesitate one second to agree that she ‘hated’ or despised Christiane.

But I wouldn’t say the same about Schiller. He probably didn’t speak up or defended her in front of his wife but I also can’t quite imagine that he took part in the mean gossiping about her and there’s also no form of proof indicating that (that I know of). If anything I think he avoided that topic and probably tried to blend out that part of Goethe’s life.

But in the end we also do not know very much about Schiller and Christiane except very few things. Here’s what we know:

- if he saw her at all he saw her very seldomly at Goethe’s house. I don’t know whose choice that was, that is whether it was Goethe’s, Christiane’s or an agreed decision between them both but as I said ealier it would have also been just improper for her to officialy receive guests, this was the 1790s, this was high society, there was a protocol for certain things and the famous poet’s girlfriend greeting his guests just wasn’t a thing and there was probably no exception made with Schiller. however… the main source we have of Schiller not meeting her (when he stayed there for the first time for a couple of days) is a letter to his wife where he states that he has never seen Christiane and I think there’s a possibility that that’s not even true and Schiller only wrote it in order to not worry Lotte but idk

- Goethe mentions Schiller’s wife in like almost every single letter (sending greetings etc.) and Schiller doesn’t do the same with Christiane but then again he probably didn’t even know her very well and, well, greeting your friends wife (besides the fact that Goethe and Lotte had known each other since long before either of them met Schiller) was more a thing you did than greeting his girlfriend

- he does however send her greetings one (1) time in 1802 to congratulate her on the birth of a daughter (who died a couple of days later as did all of Christiane and Goethe’s children after their eldest son, August - it is today supposed that they had mismatching blood groups which is why none of their later children was able to survive more than a few weeks or even days):

Empfehlen sie mich der Kleinen recht freundschaftlich und versichern sie meines besten Anteils ~friendly greetings to the Kleine and assure her of my best regards

I’m not going to overinterpret the word freundschaftlich/friendly (which in this context I’d read as literally friend-ly, as in from a friend, in a friendshipy way etc.) here but he’s callig her ‘Kleine’ (which means the small one but it’s used as a nickname so it doesn’t really translate), and to me that means that Goethe must have referred to her by that name when talking to Schiller about her, which means that he, well talked to Schiller about her and in such an intimate manner that he referred to her by a nickname, so make of that what you may

- there was one time (this is mentioned in a letter from Christiane to Goethe but unfortunately I can’t find those online anymore so here’s a very cloudy memory:) when both Schiller and Christiane were at the annual theatre festival or sth in Lauchstädt and Christiane wrote to Goethe who had stayed in Weimar that she had been… sitting at a table together with Schiller? and they had… a lot of fun? and/or they went on some kind of boat trip and sat (amongst others) in the same boat?? (if anyone has those letters please let me know!!) anyway from how she wrote it, itsounded like Schiller spoke to her, was at ease being in her company etc.

So all things considered I think Schiller’s behaviour to her was if not particularly great also not particularly bad. He surely wasn’t very straightforward about including her or having close contact with her, but then Goethe probably didn’t even introduce her to him properly. To me it seems that he was somehow caught in beetween - between Lotte and her friends and the entire Weimar society and between his friend Goethe and his beloved Christel whom he for some reason just didn’t marry. What he really thought of her, how well he actually knew her? I think we just don’t know. But I think that compared with what Christiane was facing with the rest of Weimar’s society Schiller seems to have been okay with her to some extent and seems to have been almost friendly to or even with her (in comparison!).

So that was a very long answer to a very short but important and also complex question. I hope that at least some things are clearer now?

Regarding Vulcans and autism

Since why the hell not make it a series with recognizable titles that will make it easy to look up and create links for if I ever make enough of them for it to be worth it. Disclaimer: it might be hard to understand what I’m getting at without reading the other posts since this isn’t supposed to be, like, a comprehensive analysis on how one is like the other.

Thing is, as an Aspie woman, I can see perfectly well how Vulcans expressing nothing but neutrality gets twisted in reception and interpreted as smugness/disdain, and autism (or at least Asperger’s, I am sorta more knowledgeable about one than the other) does tend to include self-awareness issues that leads to feelings of superiority and/or inferiority, and with the most recognizably “autistic” (either explicitly or through coding) being the Sheldon Coopers and the BBC Sherlock types, the assumption that anyone like them in some ways will follow in others (heck, might be why pop culture has accepted Holmes as an asshole at all, since he wasn’t that bad in the stories but he WAS smart and eccentric and every once in a while disdaindful of the people whose jobs he did better than them) is not unexpected.

The problem’s not really there because I actually have faith that we could have talked about it and raised awareness of not only this case, but also made people question why seeing a smart(er), seemingly cold but all-around just neutral characters or races made everyone raise their hackles to such a degree, assume that they’re actually mostaken about their skills (literally have seen people go “but what if Vulcans only think they’re some of the best scientists around bc they’re supercilious assholes and it’s just not true”)and wrong about life in general. Don’t get me wrong, I do get the impulse ever since Star Trek (2009), but, well, that’s just the thing, that’s where the problem is. Because we could have talked about it in fandom and be friends about it, but now there are TWO official canon sources that depict the Vulcans as intolerant, xenophobic, racist, ableist hypocrites, and not only is it harder to argue with actual canon telling you that you were right about your worst assumptions, but now you’ve seen them be actually WORSE than you first thougt, and to your faves, and in such a way that none of their positive/redeeming qualities (say, being all of that stuff sorta kinda messes up the whole IDIC thing, but it wouldn’t be so bad if they weren’t doing it out out of malice, but out of ignorance and genuine misunderstanding, and if the only members who were shown to be sorta kinda decent weren’t at least partly from a different species (u.s., uh, I mean, us) and/or implied to have been influenced by a different culture) were shown. In fact, those good qualities, such as their pacifism, reverence for life, belief and respect for diversity, their curiosity and constant push for knowledge that probably wouldn’t let them just let a kid fall by the wayside becuase he was dyslexic (“there is no other wisdom, and no hope for us, but that we grow wise”), their deep attachment to their morality that’s even more important to them than to be liked by the other members of the Federation COUGH COUGH AUTISM MUCH COUGH COUGH were the first to be dropped in favour of what’s anathema to all of this, the last one in particular was turned on its head so it wasn’t that they used their logic to arrive to the most compassionate and fair choice, and it had to be logic since emotion would resist a sacrifice in a way logic won’t, making logic the compassionate choice (as they saw it, I don’t think it’s universally true, but also not universaly false), but that they were mich more willing to let people suffer and to look the other way and not be affected at all because, I don’t know, they mistook logic, which is a tool, with efficiency, which is a goal, I’d guess.

They lost the best things about them because freaking J J Abrams decided to make movies about a franchise he didn’t even like and then, even though all of it could have stayed in a parallel universe were, as many have proposed, Vulcans were worse because the Kelvin accident led people to know what Romulans looked like earlier so THEY were worse and everyone was just an asshole to each other, but then Discovery took a leaf out of his book and used his version of Vulcans and even changed old characters to fit this new version better (Sarek doesn’t disagree with Starfleet because of its bellicosity [you can’t even argue that he still disaproves of violence because he spent the worst part of the war following General Cornwell around and idk commiting mind crimes] or because he sees it as a rejection from Spock [since he says he’ll keep his distance because it’s what Spock would want and what the fuck even was that?] and he’s a cold bastard who’d take a child to a completely different culture than the one she’s used to purely for superficial beliefs and even then he’ll still prioritize his more Vulcan son, Amanda doesn’t think Vulcan’s is a hard but better way [and honestly she wouldn’t be justified to] so since she can’t be staying because of her children since they’re being mistreated, she must be doing it because of Sarek which is just so feminist, you guys, and ok, I better change topics before this becomes an “everything that’s wrong about Disco with a sidenote of everything that’s not objectively wrong but I still didn’t like”, but also, Vulcan brains can literally lobotomize themselves while dealing with trauma, don’t you think they’d take mental health seriously?) so now it’s canon in the original universe, too. Even with Enterprise (which, to be honest, I haven’t watched, I’ve only learned what was going on with Vulcans from Memory Alpha and the recounting might hace left events and/or the essence and implications of the plotline out), the tomfoolery was supposed to be Romulans infiltrating the government and twisting Surak’s teachings, all of this is supposed to be how things vecame after they got his katra back and went through the Reform.

And this got long, but the thing is: it’s not just about the Vulcans. It’s about the fact that some of the worst assumptions made about them were recognizable at least by this one Aspie as, among other things, a neurotypical’s response to an autistic trait and a long history of negative autistic coding, and now they’ve been confirmed by canon, so instead of having a nice discussion and maybe a bit of disk horse about this, we’ve gotta deal with the fact that now some people feel legitimally repelled by and resentful of Vulcans (insofar as any emotion applies to fiction) because they are now the bigots and oppressors - now it’s not a one episode race of black&white and white&black people ridiculously pointing at the obvious differences between each other, but Vulcans who have said and done bigoted things many people have been exposed to during their lives, and if they were ever willing to give them, and by extension us, a chance, now it’s ruined. I am not, of course, saying that if you hate Vulcans, especially now, you’re ableist, or that making them the Asshole^tm will turn people ableist. Just that it would have been nice to see people like me who didn’t end up justifiably despised.*

*Especially through character assassination, couldn’t you have at least made them unlikeable from the start?

•The older I get the more toxic and alienating I find the commonplace turn of phrase “I’d forget my head if it wasn’t attached!” Why is that painted as a bad thing...... 🥺💔❓I’d loveeee to forget my head. Just a few times. 👌🏽 As a treat.

•excluding the obvious, such as slurs, my least favorite words in the English language are landlocked (hideous reminder of my geographic state of affairs), and kismet. The latter is just so uglyyyyy the original language(s) it’s derived from make it sound so much better why can’t we just say kismat! I speak Urdu so I’m biased but like—

•I emphathize with fish an odd amount. I’ll eat them gladly and w gusto but I also find the level of suffering they’re allowed to feel staggering. It blindsides me. Blob fish used to (actually still do) freak me OUT!! Like my sister would scare me by showing me pictures of them w no warning. But apparently the reason they look the way they do is normally they live like 2000-4000 ft underwater and the decrease in water pressure as they’re drug up to the surface misshapes and deforms them and apparently this is very painful?? Even if it isn’t tho...the first time I read that. Immediate tears sprung into my eyes. And apparently some fish can choose to commit suicide? Like they just stop swimming and eating... god oh my god—!! They’re FISH!! Why are they so COMPLICATED!!! And I used to own a tank full of fish and usually fish don’t last long in our house! Rancid vibes you know? And my mom and I were so pleased these ones had lasted so long!! And then mysteriously they all just died too?? We did everything RIGHT! It was probably more than 2 years ago and we keep saying we’ll get more fish but I just don’t have the heart...I’m.....not ready to get hurt again so soon.

•You know how B&N has special gilded hardback editions of various classics? I will never forgive them for making their edition of Jane Eyre black/grey and WHITE!! MONOCHROME and BLEAK!! (Just bc it’s gothic!!!) It’s one of the most colorful books I’ve ever read!!! It swept me off my FEET! During the happiest parts of the book everything in my line of sight irl was GOLDEN I was in literal actual and true LOVE!!! I fell a-freshly in love w life bc of how much this book delighted me and they swaddle her in black and WHITE?? I can’t deal gentle reader I cannot deal—

•I have mixed feelings about poetry but I have a soft spot for The Tiger is out yes (you know the one, by the little boy? the ENERGY!!)+e. e. cumming’s The Grasshopper. On average poetry doesn’t make sense to me but grasshopper is the sort of (non)sense which I’m capable of appreciating. I dream of having a voice controlled fancy robot try to kill me so I can tell it to recite grasshopper and then it just explodes in confusion bc you can’t do that (recite grasshopper) 🐅 🤖

•I’ve lost track of the # of years I’ve waited in vain for Shoukoku no Altair to be localized and have official (physical!) English copies available for purchase, instead of just ebooks. Since the forgettable and upsettingly bad anime adaptation I’m afraid it’ll never happen ever...💔 I ache and yearn for naught but idk how to stoppp 😭

•The Cr*wn of L*ve by John Everett Millais is one of my most favorite paintings but I’m like. Embarrassed about it 👑 @my brain WHY. When did I become such a s*ppy gremlin. I blame ur fics and Jane Eyre Eve 😑 I was firmly in the ‘romance is a neurochemical con job’ camp just years before courtesy of my upbringing....what have I become 😶😶😶

•nothing screams “I hate you” like not appreciating+wasting food and also not returning the favor ever like it’s not a zero sum game but god is a little reciprocity too much to ask yes it is and yes I am sensitive and have been hurt before why do you as—🤐

•purposely vague but sometimes I wonder if I’d been one of those kids who put her head down on her desk in elementary school a lot and stopped listening to teachers whilst doing so maybe life, academically speaking, would go smoother for me now. But I was too afraid of getting in trouble and not yet the full fledged quitter you do (not literally) see before you today. Although the urge to put my head down wasn’t one I never felt...Missed opportunities alas

•I used to be able to handle spending any length of time in those mesmerizing aquarium tunnels and even enjoy myself in them but I’m now a more fragile and wise gal and can not even look at pictures w/o feeling intense WHJDNDNDND idek. They’re scary man. 🌊

•one of my favorite fun facts ever is this painter in 1881, Edward Burne-Jones finally realized mummy brown paint actually had bits of real mummies in it when having lunch with friends and was so unnerved he tried to give his tube of the paint a burial immediately. Like immmmeditately. (read this like a year ago in The Secret Lives of Color by Kassia St. Clair) 🎨 📖
