Man, I completely forgot that bleach as a series had a very contentious fanbase and much like any fanbase… fucking shipping culture ruined it. Like sure I have hindsight to look at it all critically especially since I only got back into bleach two years or so, but the ships and infighting of ‘who ichigo should end up with in the end’ goes to show how amatonormative fanbases still are.

It suggests that life long platonic relationships are secondary, despite the fact that creating human connections and bonds are utterly integral to Bleach as a series. Connections matter, but it means placing familial, platonic and romantic ones on the same level as one another. but fanbases always rush to the romantic ones, completely forgetting that familial and platonic relationships are just as if not more important and vital as romantic ones. The difference is that romantic relationships can fall apart, and while sure friendships and familial bonds can also fall apart too - if said platonic and familial ties are strong and there’s genuine trust between parties - then it’s much harder to break.

to this day i do not understand the bleach fandom who would of been fine with the two kids and married ending if it was ichirukia, as if the whole manga didnt reek of he will loose his powers and have to move on some how into adult hood

I think ichirukia. I just feel like it's so much more organic and not forced.

sometimes i think, no wonder i get a little crazy/desperate, everything is so different now (i'm looking like ep 4 sean saying this😒💨), the things that connect me with myself/the vibe i enjoyed, it's all fading little by little, it feels like the world that you lived and knew is disappearing and you are the only thing left of it, the older lis2 images of that person, the images gone (the person still draws this game, but the vibe is not the same anymore), the old ichirukia beauty and the beast comic video, now disappeared, the russian video that made me start having a crush on sean, doesn't have it anymore, it's all gone!

ugh💧, the way that people see/portray sean and daniel nowadays, now daniel is not seem as a brat cute kid, now he's a hottie teenager, it's all different, but not saying that before was/it's better (no way💢), it just different, and this different seem…to don't go well with me, i feel my soul is different too, i don't know, i feel like i don't have nothing,...,?,!!!, THAT'S IT!⭐, THAT'S IT!⭐, now i know!, now i know why i feel like this!, "it seems like i don't have nothing" that's why i feel like this!, i don't have nothing to make me feel better, cuz all the things that maked me feel better are fading away/gone

one thing I saw a while back is someone complaining about how if there is a popular same sex ship in the fandom they dont always make it canon like how swan queen didnt happen

complaining that 

either the 2 girls( they specified f/f ships) end up with a man ( and claiming its boring  which in the end is just fetishizing f/f ships and acting as if they are inherently more interesting then het ships when no they arent)

or one of them ends up in a same sex ship with someone else or

this is just complaining about their ship not becoming canon

and using the popularity fallacy

  they specified popular same sex ships which again says to me that 1 this is about the genders involved

that they wouldnt have shipped their ships if they were a het ship

and 2 they have to act like its different from a het ship being popular or think that a popular same sex ship not becoming canon and a popular het ship not becoming canon is different when its not

lets be real here zutara and ichirukia were the most popular ships of their series but they didnt become canon

I imagine the person would try to argue but the ship that did happen was another het ship. but thats irrelevant if you ship based on genders involved that is a bad thing

Am I the only one who has felt really bad for really liking a specific ship, but not in the way it is commonly interpreted thus severely limiting the the fan material available to enjoy?

Not that I dislike those who prefer the specific interpretation that I, for some reason, can't stand.

But I get a dissatisfied feeling concerning the fandom in general that just ruins my experiences. Even though everyone is nice and respectful, they encourage people to express themselves and to speak out because it is a community built on a shared interest. I just feel like I don't get the fandom, we like the same things, but we don't.

I feel defensive of my specific interpretation of the ship and then I feel shameful for my extreme reaction to something everyone is trying to enjoy.

Let's talk about things.

Naruto and Bleach ships.

I ship both NaruSasu and NaruSaku. But I still do struggle between the two. I still like Narusaku more. But, If the manga had to end with couples, I would have been fine either way with NaruSaku or NaruSasu. I refuse to accept SS, and NH makes even LESS sense than SS to me, and trust me it’s already not much.

I never could get into Bleach as a child, it scared me too much. My one mistake was ever having watching Bleach after, when I already went through BS shipping at the end. 

I will say that IchiHime makes BOATLOADS more sense than NaruHina as Orohime actually interacts with him, but I just ship development so hard bro!

Update: Forgot to add that I do still prefer Ichirukia more.

Me and my art to ship non canon couples

Ichirukia (I really thought that this would be canon, like, they had it right there! The kid fought the whole soul society just to save her, and she was right there, beside him, fighting with him shoulder to shoulder)

Dramione (yes, they don't have lots of interactions but tell me that it wouldn't be beautiful to see a redemption arc to Draco where Hermione help him heal, and they fall in love, and got married, and that would be the final statement of the end of mud blood/pure blood hate)

Kacchako ('cause yes, I think they can bring the best of each other, if not as a couple at least as besties, I mean, he call her by her name for crying out loud)

Zutara (after last season I thought they would be canon too. Let's face it, there's not a single 14 y/o girl in this world who would actually prefer a 12 y/o over Zuko, and I mean none. Aang was like her best friend. And since Zuko got her necklace everybody kept asking if that belonged to her girlfriend... RIGHT FUCKING THERE)

Karmanami (They are hell out of cute together. Plus, they gave us so little, yet so beautiful moments together)

Nagikae (After that kiss? Yeah, sure, I'm gonna ship them with someone else)

Okikagu (Do I need to explain something here? Do I? As far as I concern they grew up and got married in a wedding that ended up in a fight club)

I have a lot more, but the thing they all have in common is: that none of them are canon.
