A Jotunn, a Pirate, and a Wraith walk into the DC Universe-
Debated making this it's own post, but since it's been put up on Ao3 I might as well.
Part 2 (and one really, this started as an addition) , Ao3
Danny has an Ice Core. He isn't aware of it, but this does, in fact, greatly influence how his ghost form looks as he grows up. A ghosts Core is essential to how they mature as a ghost, after all. A speculative piece on the group's possible Adult Ghost Appearances as they grow up. (Yes Dan too)
The summoning ritual was finished, and John braced himself for Klarion's imminent arrival. Bruce could only hope that what the mage had to offer would be considered valuable enough for the chaos demon's assistance.
But something was off.
Instead of the burst of hot air that so often heralded Klarion's arrival, there was a silent rush of cold.
And someone much more intimidating stepped through.
The man's hair was white, his eyes were a pale, glowing, piercing green, and his skin was as pale as the snow that had started to fall. Taller than Superman, quieter than Batman.
He wore a furred mantle that bore no resemblance to any animal Bruce knew of. His hair was braided out of his face, his armor bore shimmering Ancient Nordic designs that were so old, Bruce couldn't find a single rune he knew.
Hovering above the man's head was a crown of solid, glittering ice. It sloped and spiked, and every movement shook snow from it's small peaks. Above that, hovering between reality and a dream, a miniature Aurora Borealis flickered in and out of view.
The crown was less a crown and more a small group of mountains, plucked from Norway and shrunk into something befitting the being in front of them.
Looking upon him forced Bruce to confront his own mortality, because this entity was dripping with lethality. Not the type he was used to, not the kind that could be met with the cold steel of a blade or the sudden, numbing hot-cold pain of a bullet.
The kind of mortality that he feared.
The quiet death in the wilds; alone, hungry, and scared.
Staring at the being that had been summoned, Bruce was struck with the feeling that he was watching a wolf as it observed him. Patient. Cold.
Knowing that no matter what it did, it was going to get a free meal if it only took a day or two to wait.
Bruce was broken from that silent, obtrusive knowledge when the entity looked away from him, eyes searching the battlefield.
Then the being took a silent step forward, ice tendrils branching out from where he stepped, his eyes having entirely fixated on the Mage that had summoned him.
The cultists that had been working for Nergal slowly turned and started standing in line with the Justice League, prepared to defend against...this.
Whatever this was.
Constantine backed away slowly, swearing under his breath and shaking.
The entity looked towards the cultists, letting out a small, disdainful hum.
As one, the cultists bolted, leaving behind their tools and sacrifices to summon their false god.
The Justice League, far too preoccupied with whatever was in front of them, couldn't do much to stop them.
The being took a deep breath and sighed through his nose, causing a gust of wind cold enough to make Bruce's skin sting.
"Well, this is awkward," the being sighed, rubbing the back of his neck, "Uh...did you guys need me for something? I was kind of in the middle of hiding from the Observants."
Bruce's brain paused. Rewound.
Restarted.
Assessed.
Oh God this was another Clark; frightening stature, polite, down to earth nature.
"I'm sorry, hiding from the who?" Bruce heart himself ask faintly, as he forced his body to understand that he wasn't in any present danger from the...person in front of him. The man turned his attention from the wheezing magician and back on Bruce.
"Kinda like a council, super annoying, keep trying to make me do paperwork."
"I...see. We were actually trying to reach Klarion, is he unavailable?"
The man sucked in air through his teeth and rested his hands on his hips, scuffing one of his shoes on the ground.
"Oof, yeah; Klarions a little bit in Time Prison right now. Genuinely didn't think anyone wanted to willingly deal with him, or I woulda sent you guys like, a note or something. Want me to just do what you were gonna have him do?"
Constantine stared at Bruce with wide, terrified eyes and shook his head.
Bruce considered it.
"What price would you have? We wanted the cultists captured and their artifacts broken."
Constantine graduated to desperately crossing his arms in an "X". Superman was looking at Bruce like he was insane. Bruce ignored them.
"Uh...my little sister is actually a huge Static Shock fan. Any chance of an autograph?"
"I can arrange that."
I highly advise reading the original prompt, as it has many additions from other writers and artists. It also has fanart!

So to start lets say that jack and Maddie already know about how danny = phantom and so does most of the town, it took awhile but eventually everyone got used to it (danny would be 16)
One day the GIW starts to surround Amity Park in secret by the time anyone realizes whats happening the GIW already had everyone blocked in claiming "they were all infected" and "a danger to everyone else"
It was a long battle to get the GIW to leave Amity alone but they did leave eventually, however during the fight there were some loss, such as Maddie, jack, sam, tucker, vlad, dani and more
A few months later the JL were informed of a big on going blizzard that started somewhere in Illinois and began to spread, the immediate area was already evacuated and now they need to send a team (yj, teen titans, or the batfam it's your call) to find the cause of this unnatural snow storm
When the group eventually gets to the center of the storm they find a mostly abandoned and partially destroyed town, they managed to come across a brown haired teen girl in red winter gear going through an abandoned store
On that note jazz is currently sitting with her brother as he sleeps (for once) and listening to the clatter of pots and pans in the kitchen, she wonders when val will be back with more supplies.

I know a lot of people love electric core danny au because it makes sense for him to have powers relating to his death right?? But that’s the thing!! Ghosts aren’t logical beings!! They’re entirely emotion based and I feel like an ice core absolutely makes sense for Danny.
The first thing that comes to mind is SPACE. Danny’s space obsession is mostly fanon but there’s still quite a bit of him geeking out over it in the show. He loves stargazing, he wants to be an astronaut, he’s practiced shuttle simulators enough to land an actual shuttle, etc. Outer space is cold and very heavily associated with ice. Look at comets and moons and outer planets, they’re all about ice.
Second thing though, in media ice IS heavily associated with being cold and standoffish, which isn’t really like Danny. but its ALSO associated with isolation and loneliness (like being largely ignored at school and at home, like having only 2 real friends, like being one of the only half ghosts in existence)
Ghosts don’t follow logic and science, they follow emotions!! We don’t know how most of the other ghosts died, we’ve sorta made up backstory’s based on their power sets but what if that’s not true?

So I think of Dan and Ellie as Vlad and Danny's children, we know this
Dan is literally a fusion of both their ectoplasm, and Ellie, despite being probably a clone, was still raised around Vlad and his ectoplasm, which I think would have affected her.
So I think their cores should reflect that:
Wind core for Ellie, as wind can be cooling, but can also carry gusts of heat. She is ultimately her own individual, only slightly influenced. It is wild and untamed and free like she is and it can chill and it can warm and it can comfort and reassure, yet also be brutal and wild and rip and tear and rend all that blocks it's path.
Water core for Dan, melted ice, a representation of what caused his birth. An Ocean, a Tsunami. Tears, mourning, grief. Constant and unrelenting and inevitable like the tides, sometimes seeming calm and still, but this stillness is but an act to hide the brutal, crashing, fatal waves that will soon follow. A sudden, striking, forceful anger and grief that sweeps in and destroys mercilessly, unknowingly, without bias or care, going where nature wills it, and though it can stop and recede just as swiftly, it sometimes merely slows, lingering and receding, and at times never really leaving.
Ice core for Danny, cold and harsh yet all the more reassuring and safe for it. The cold of an ice fortress or igloo, protecting those within it and keeping in the warmth. The cold of an ice pack on a nasty bruise, the chill as you watch the anger of someone else standing up and protecting you and knowing only your enemies will face it, the cold of a snow day, the carefree enjoyment of childhood, unburdened, knowing that the snow has no wish to harm you, but instead bring joy. The ice of protection of safety, just as sharp and cold and cutting, but only to it's enemies, those who do not see the love and joy in it.
Fire core for Vlad, the ever-burning embers of a wood fire, something that must be kept feed, lest it die out and leave one to freeze. The fire that cannot die, cannot rest, can burn down to embers, but must never be extinguished, for fear of the cold that will creep in and kill, for fear of the longer time one will starve for it, for fear of the darkness and the enemies within and the inherent uncertainty of the unknown, for fear. The simmering embers of everlasting devotion, the crackling warmth of the hearth that heats the home and heart, the shared light of companionship.
Basically, I'm saying that Ellie has a wind core as her obsession is freedom, Dan has a water core, and his obsession has something to do with his intense grief, if that grief is not in itself his obsession, Danny, has an ice core and a protection obsession in this case, while Vlad has a fire core and an obsession concerning love and companionship, but it's become mutated and twisted by his fear.

The popular hc is that Danny has an ice core, so what if Dani had a liquid core?
I was watching Batman Beyond and the Inque episode reminded me of her melting. She’s his clone yeah, but she’s not a perfect copy and she deserves some individuality!

Prompt 122
“Have you met Seal Hood?”
Dick paused almost mid-jump, having apparently turned to the wrong channel but also changed to the perfect one too. At least, perfect in the fact that he had just overheard an interesting thing from Jason, apparently forgetting that his comm was in fact on still.
Damian must have answered, because Jason snorted a laugh. “You can try getting him to leave, he’s taken over my bathtub and keeps eating all my food.”
Hold up, was- Dick had thought Jason was talking about a plush or something, but was he talking about a literal living animal seal??
“I’ll have you know I’m not going to make a poor little baby seal leave, and I’m not putting him in a zoo, brat.”
Oh Gotham, it was a real living animal seal. Dick about faced, rushing towards Jason’s safehouse. How did he get a seal? Why was it in his bathtub?? Why hadn’t he called the proper people for this sort of thing?! He had to get to the safehouse now to see this shit.

Short DPXDC Prompts #931
Danny gets older and some aspects of his ice core start to affect his mortal body. One day he checks the mirror to see two bright blue bumps that are growing out of his head. In his panic, he flees to the Far Frozen to ask Frostbite what is happening. “Congratulations Great One! Your antlers are growing in!” His... What?

Winter in Spring
Danny was not a spirit of the seasons, he didn't have any idea if those kinds of spirits existed out of movies, what he did know was that for some reason the flowers were behaving rather strangely in one particular dimension right at the beginning of spring. And although he certainly didn't want to affect the place he knew he had to investigate it.
From what it seemed: strange plants that glowed just like those born in the Infinite Realms were appearing in Gotham and coming to life on their own. At first he suspected Undergrowth but the Ancient was offended by the accusation and commented that he was too busy in his haunt to care about a random city. Which turned out to be true.
Then he thought that maybe it was fine: the bright flowers seemed harmless (although they were very very...alive?) and didn't hurt anyone. That was until a red-haired girl seemed to upset them and they started attacking everyone around them; unfortunately, because they were ghost flowers they could dodge attacks very easily and the "heroes" couldn't defend themselves.
So, with no other options Danny traveled to Gotham and well, to put it simply he became a fake winter spirit; what else was he supposed to do? He needed an alibi and to spread ice as quickly as possible. Telling Gothamites that winter was coming early because of him was the least of his problems.
What he didn't expect was that after turning the city into a wasteland of ice and snow (and saving them from the invasion of ghost flowers, you're welcome), some guys in bat suits would start following him around with questions. He also didn't expect one of them to stare at him and ask if he'd be back in winter, he wondered if faking his identity was a good idea.

Writing prompt: Danny failed science and Temperature affects the weather!!!
So when a cold front meets a warm front is can cause a storm, sometimes they can become extremely dangerous….
Danny has been really stressed lately with college applications and exams, plus the fact that his powers have been getting stronger lately. So one day he flys out to the middle of nowhere and lets off some steam in the form of letting his ice core go a little crazy. He does this every now and then to help him destress, today he used a little more power than usual but no big deal right?
Wrong. One week later the justice league is at his door and confronting him about a series of severe storms that have been created that they managed to track the energy source back to him.
Now they are trying to confront him about being a weather powered meta.
To be fair he was fighting the box ghost when they were learning about hot and cold fronts, how was he supposed to know they could form tornados?

Danny has an Ice Core.
He isn't aware of it, but this does, in fact, greatly influence how his ghost form looks as he grows up.
His appearance starts getting more rugged, eyes a paler, more piercing green, hair a bit more uncontrollable and wild.
He packs muscle easily, even in human form.
When in ghost form, he has an aura of something patient and dangerous, and that sense only grows the older he gets.
Basically, our boy starts to look like a viking.
No matter how goofy and bumbling he really is, his first impression is always a horrifying moment for whoever is meeting him.
And as his ghost form grows with his human form, he outgrows his hazmat outfit. Frostbite and the Far Frozen fashion him some new clothes-which only compliment and play off of the viking aesthetic he's got going on.
And with the height he inherited from his father?
Our man is a very, very intimidating figure to look at. More so than Dan; because while Dan was dangerous and scary, he was all energy and lightning and rage.
Adult Danny comes across as lethal and terrifying, all ice and persistence and that final, terrible silence before you realize you've already died.
Dan felt like the warrior in front of you. Danny feels like the wilderness in winter, vast and unforgiving.
Anyways, when a summoning for Klarion goes horribly wrong and Danny gets called instead, the Justice League has a moment where they're convinced they've summoned something much, much worse than Klarion.
And Danny, standing there completely confused, is not helping by remaining silent and still while staring John Constantine in the eye.
Good news, the bad guys are also very concerned about the weird ghost viking and are actually moving to stand side by side with the Justice League on this.
Bad news, who the fuck is this guy?
"...Fuck," is all Constantine whispers, backing away slowly.

Suddenly Wally had to cut off a yelp, biting his lip to smother the noise. While he was doing his best to balance the other against his chest as he unfolded the blankets, the stranger seemed to give up on burrowing into the couch and was making his best effort to burrow into Wally’s hoodie. A very, very cold hand had found its way to Wally’s skin.
The stranger let out a happy sigh and basically melted.
“Yeah, okay, use me as a heating pad, sure,” Wally whispered. “That was the plan, I guess, just didn’t expect the sleepy groping.”
---
AN: Might need to title this sucker.
Also I need to figure out of Dick and Wally area already together. And if it's an open relationship. Or if it's closed atm but started just friends/they're used to talking about cute people together. Or if they're not together. Thought on that welcome!

Both Danny and Phantom have freckles. The only reason Wes can’t use this fact on his conspiracy board, however, is because Danny has freckles in the summer, and Phantom has freckles in the winter.
Every time Wes tries to convince people that Danny and Phantom are the same person, people around him being up this fact and his whole argument crumbles to the ground. He spends weeks trying to find any possible reason Danny’s freckles are on the opposite sides of the seasonal scale.
This is the only reason Danny’s identity has not been blown yet.
