My fav part of fictional romances is the "we are friends in love but we aren't sure if it's mutual so it's a dance of looks and touches and words but never confessions out of fear of breaking our hearts" phase. If this phase is long I am happy and having the time of my life

#i've seen people saying the opposite of a slowburn is a will they wont they but NO!! I HATE THE WILL THEY WONT THEY!!!#by which i mean that confession is out but for some reason the characters are doing nothing about it #or they are dating other people or pretending they arent in love or whatever #but NO i mean either the ''they deserve better'' or ''this goes against my brain'' or ''we are so different'' or whatever else trope #just.... not expecting to be loved while loving passionately.... that's my shit that's my shit RIGHT!!! THERE!!!! A #*opposite of a slowburn is instalove i guess but if we're talking long term romances then it's will they won't they #eernatalk #there's a reason why a romance becomes 10 times better to me if a character says ''i dont expect them to ever love me it's ok''#the selflessness.... the care.... the knowledge that love and affection are enough of a reward because no one is obliged to love you... aaa
