I said it about quali and I'm glad to be able to say it about the race too but THIS is what this sport should be about

I was literally shaking, tears in my eyes, holding my breath for probably the last ten laps, what a chaotic exciting race that really let drivers show their ability beyond just having the quickest car

the fact this is round 16 and I can count on one hand with fingers to spare the number of races that have given this same feeling this season shows how special this one has been

now for my bias:

Lando Norris... you angel, you star, you fantastic driver jfc I adore you, mega mega mega driving and holding off the mercs on 25 lap fresher tyres all the way to the end to bring home the P2? incredible

and not forgetting Oscar, starting P17 and ending P7, that's 6 whole points and another showcase of stellar driving, I wish sky had shown more because some of the overtakes I did see were just lovely

and Liam. Lawson. star in the making, third ever race, his favourite track, a difficult track and a tricky race and he's got his first points in F1 too, literally so so impressive

COURT UPDATE

I'm not doing ok.

The public defender (now referred to as P.D.) and I rejected the prosecutor's bullshit offer and tried to push for a diversion, she rejected that and gave a new offer: no jail time BUT I'll have a non-expungeable felony charge on my permanent record.

I am now fighting her charge and if I lose, I face 30 days in jail AND have that felony charge added to my record.

My trial is on February 1st.

I will be starting a gofundme so I can get my car fixed, move out once this is all over, and file for a divorce with no responsibility to the kids. If she doesn't tell her mother, I will...and the kids can go live with her parents who have had issue with her parenting in the past. I'm done...I'm exhausted...I'm falling apart at the seams...I even picked up smoking again because it's the only thing that helps calm me down.

I'm not doing so hot...I'm watching videos while keeping an eye on the kids and I've confiscated the car from my soon-to-be ex-wife with exception for when she needs to drive to work. I'm done being used by her...also, she's been driving unlicensed and uninsured this WHOLE time in MY car because she has outstanding traffic violation tickets in another state.

So on top of me being criminally charged for something that was her fault, she's illegally driving my car into the ground. Well, she's not anymore.

Tried to watch the new wtfock Anais Bobbie season by watching 'their story" video on yt first to see if I wanted to watch the whole thing instead ended up bawling my eyes out choking on my tears screaming into the void and spiralling even before reaching the end because of the parallels the makers have made with Sobbe at every second turn to make sure that everything fawking reminds us of Sobbe or what idk felt like Sander and Robbe were just there out of sight just beneath the screenlight like I was watching them for the first time but for the nth time but it was not really them like fuck they're not coming back an entire mindfuck was what it was it was "everything I touch breaks" oh no no no no wtfock you're not doing this shit to me esp after not giving any Sobbe for the last two seasons and barely giving us a closure it was a bad decision britt/10 I'm definitely not watching it ie I'm unable.

as a McLaren fan this can only be classed as a fairy tale weekend

some uncertainty during the practice sessions only to have a dream qualifying with Lando P1 in Q1, the boys P2 and P3 in Q2 and doing that again in Q3 with Lando snagging a front row start at his home race and Oscar a P3 in only his 10th race in his rookie season

and then the race

after a cracking start, Lando led the first five laps of the British GP, his HOME race, and I have never screamed so loud or smiled so wide

and then both our boys drove their fucking socks off

both holding position for over half the race, both performing well with pace and tyre management

overtakes and defence from both but on the safety car restart Oscar holding off George, and Lando against Lewis oh my word I could barely breathe

onto the boys

OSCAR PIASTRI, star rookie you are, P4 and a bag of points, I'm so sorry that the safety car meant you missed out on the podium but I am so happy for you

LANDO NORRIS P2, you are a podium sitter at Silverstone!! incredible performance the whole way through, I could wax poetry all day long

I'm so fucking proud of my drivers, and my team, and every hard working McLaren employee who made it so these upgrades could be here today and man I am looking forward to the rest of the season now 🥹
