[ writer & artist asks ]
1: Who was your first ever OC? Do you still “use” them? How have they evolved over time?
Mercy! She’s my first oc as far as consistent name/appearance/style goes, I’ve been using her as a player character in various games for a few years now. I still use her of course, & her fallout version + red dead version are pretty well established as characters. I don’t even know where to start as far as character evolution goes- she’s had a bunch of different variations and they’re all over the place.
4: What kind of music do your OCs listen to?
I’m awful and just gave them all my music taste lmao. Basically they’re not picky, they’ll listen to whatever as long as they can vibe with it. As far as modern music options go: Reed would really like 90’s alt, Mercy would like 70’s-80’s punk + 80’s-90’s alt, & Delta would really like 80’s & 90’s rock + alt.
10: OC you most struggled to make?
Delta🫣 I tend to gravitate towards morally gray characters & unreliable narrators, and Delta doesn’t fit that at all
21: When did you start considering yourself a writer/artist?
A few months after I started drawing art on here, when I started feeling more confident about what I was doing. Granted I’ve been an artist for a while given that I’m an art major and all, but it’s different from what I’m doing here. I still don’t really consider myself much of a writer just due to the fact that I've only written one short fic and a drabble or two lmao
25: What’s your favourite genre to write? Is it also your favourite genre to read?
It's all creative fiction, but genre-wise I love reading fics that lean more towards mystery, sci-fi, & thriller/horror. I also love reading slow burns, especially when they focus on the more mundane aspects of the relationship being established; yeah it's fun seeing them be cool and badass together, but what I really want to see is when they have downtime together and they're just talking and learning about each other, and they hold eye contact just a bit too long, or their hands touch while they're passing something over, etc etc- you get where I'm going lmao. As far as writing goes- I'm still super rusty and relearning how to do creative writing, but I'd love to be able to get into those areas at some point. In the meantime, I really enjoy writing in more of a narrative style and I'm slowly working towards writing out longer plots; I'm mainly writing Reed right now and he is not a reliable narrator by any means, so this style seems to work well with him. All of the big plots I have worked out for my ocs currently have some psychological + body horror themes so I'm hopefully going to be able to start playing around with that type of writing soon.
