#i'm blaming my love for both norse mythology and simon

I haven't been able to stop thinking about what Simon would look like if he was in the God of War franchise for a solid 24 hours now.
Like imagine him in traditional battle gear, all leather straps and metal plating, rippling muscle exposed as a show of strength meant to intimidate any unfortunate enough to cross him. A God that commands respect, and resembles nothing less than fear incarnate to his enemies.
Maybe he'd be a God of Death, ruler of the Underworld, helping those who have passed find their way to his realm, misunderstood by most as a grim reaper, rather than a guide to the afterlife.
To those who don't know him, he'd be a tale used to scare children from misbehaving, "If you don't help your father in the fields, the Ghost may pay you an early visit." But in reality, Simon doesn't choose those who pass, he merely acts as a ward, a protector of the afterlife and those in it.
And NOW I'm imagining the soft interior that hides behind his imposing figure, a man who spends most of his life alone with the dead, never getting the chance to bond with the living, especially with a reputation like his.
Sure, the Underworld is no Valhalla, there are no halls decked with riches and ornate gold, no everlasting feasts to celebrate the warriors who gave their life for Odin, but Simon does what he can to make sure the dead he cares for find some semblance of peace. He'll spend early mornings strolling across his land, greeting those who have come to recognise his kindness with a small hint of a smile, his version of a friendly hello.
So NOW, stay with me here, I know this is Greek mythology, but imagine a take on the Hades/Persephone story, sans the kidnapping. Imagine the God of Death finding his Person. He was never particularly imposing to his people beforehand, but after he finds his love? He'd turn into a 7 foot teddy bear, once cold, hard eyes melting like snow on a summers day at a single glance at them.
Flowers can't grow in the Underworld, but he'd fashion petals and stalks out of smelted metal, blossoms that would never die, much like his eternal love for you. He'd do anything for those he loves, his people are an extension of that, so Odin help any individual stupid enough to put them in harms way, for the God of Death is not one to be crossed.
