M RATED
“it’s ridiculous!” you exclaimed throwing your arms up dramatically.
“no it’s not!” your best friend sighed heavily, rolling his eyes at your behavior.
Well, you were talking about a “personal” issue with your best friend and let’s say it seemed useless.
"I’m a guy and i really don’t know how women’s body works.” Jimin said shrugging before grabbing a magazine on your nightstand, laying himself comfortably on your bed.
“I’m not gonna see a doctor just for that!” you crossed your arms over your chest challenging, dropping on the armchair behind you.
“that’s so…ughh..I don’t even know what to say.” you whisper-yelled to your best friend in the waiting room.
"C'mon consider it as a check-up." he suggested.
A lady approached you both, looking down at you.
“Miss, it’s your turn in a few minutes.” she smiled politely before going back to her desk.
Jimin nodded making you turned toward him abruptly.
"there is no way I’m going in there… let’s go home.”
“stop acting like a child y/n.” he scolded putting his hands on his hips as he stood up.
“First of all, this is a man doctor, a male!” you accentuated on your words standing up too.
“and?”
You opened your eyes wide as if he insulted you.
“and?! i don’t even know him, it’s gonna be so embarrassing. what am i gonna tell him? «hi doctor i think I have a problem with my boobs »” you mimicked your best friend putting your hands on your hips too.
”well, actually you may know him and, I think you won’t have to say it twice.“ he smirked before chuckling as he looked behind you.
"what?” you turned around only to be met with-
“good afternoon Doc.’” Jimin greeted him playfully.
“good afternoon Jimin.” he grinned.
“and y/n- I mean Mrs. y/l/n.” he smiled pushing the door open wider for you to come inside his office.
“good afternoon.” you said embarrassed, lowering your head.
Jimin laughed quietly pushing you inside as you glared at him.
“I’ll be waiting for you outside.” he informed before kissing your cheek.
You panicked as you watched your best friend walk away, leaving you alone.
why? why? why?
“you can sit." the doctor chuckled as he stared at your frozen figure standing near the chair.
“So, may I know what’s wrong Mrs. y/l/n?” he asked after you sat down.
“you know you can call me by your name… wait! no no no! I mean by my! my name!” you panicked looking away.
Jungkook had to bite back a laugh.
He cleared his throat before talking again.
“then, you can call me by my name too, y/n.”
ughh why is he like that? you groaned internally.
“so y/n, tell me. What’s the matter with you?”
“well hmm.” you started hesitantly.
how the fuck am I supposed to say that.
“y'know that’s my job. You don’t have to be embarrassed.” he said genuinely.
this boy.
“well, i think … I have a problem with.. with y'know.” you played with your fingers awkwardly.
“my.” you looked down.
“your?” he asked, lifting an eyebrow up.
“argh my breasts.” you sighed closing your eyes.
“see. you did it. wasn’t too difficult.” he smiled teasingly.
“Jungkook..that’s not funny.” you furrowed your eyebrows, your cheeks burning with embarrassment making him laugh cutely.
“c'mon y/n, don’t act like we’re strangers.”
“I’m not acting.” you lowered your head.
It went silent for a good minute before Jungkook decided to talk again.
“so hmm…how have you been since?” he started softly.
“good i guess. Jimin missed you.” you answered.
And this bitch didn’t tell you about Jungkook’s comeback. you thought frustrated.
“what about you?” he bit his lip expectantly.
Your heart stopped, thinking about your high school years.
Jungkook and you were so in love, you shared a lot of things together, you did a lot of things together, but you refused dating him since he had to go oversea for his studies.
You were scared of distant relationships.
A lot of stupid scenarios playing in your head, afraid that he would have cheated on you or other ridiculous stuff, even if you knew he wouldn’t had done that.
Not lying to yourself, you knew that deep down, your feelings were still present and unfortunately, they were strong.
He was your first love.
And he’s the only one.
Jungkook looked much more mature than he already was before. He was muscular now, his white coat hugging his biceps so well, his new hairstyle suited him perfectly, his tattoos complimented his hands so well, and his smile, the same bunny smile you fell in love with years ago.. he was just ethereal.
You gulped before answering.
“me too.”
Jungkook smiled happily, his ears turning red.
“i missed you too.”
You stared at each other for awhile before grimacing at a sudden pain.
“are you okay?” he asked concerned.
“well, I came here for a reason, doc’.” you sighed.
He rubbed his temples “yea that’s right. Tell me what’s wrong with your boo- breasts. I mean breasts!” you rolled your eyes before hesitating.
“too late to be shy princess.”
The nickname. The fucking nickname.
It made you feel some type of ways but you cleared your throat before talking.
“it has been some days now since they started hurting.” you looked down.
“How exactly? Can you describe the pain more?” He asked as he started typing things on his keyboard.
“I don’t really know how to describe it. I feel weird. It’s kind of not burning but y’know it’s like when you get hit somewhere sensitive.”
Jungkook hummed “a throbbing pain? A sensation of numbness?”
You nodded as he got up, rolling his sleeves up revealing his tattooed forearms.
goddamn. how to breath again?
“Come over here please.” he gestured toward the examination table.
“can you take your blouse off?” He said as you sat.
“sorry? what? no.” you gasped making Jungkook laugh.
”y/n, can I check to know what’s wrong?”
You covered your embarrassed face before whining “I’m sorry, I just.. sorry.”
Jungkook put his hands on your shoulders, bending down to whisper in your ear.
“it’s not like I’ve never seen you shirtless.”
Your heart picking up the pace, the memories coming back.
“So?” He asked expectantly making you sigh as you started unbuttoning your blouse slowly.
Jungkook gulped, eyes following your hands down until you took it off completely.
He cleared his throat, his heart beating too fast for his liking.
“May I?“ he lifted his hand in front of you.
You nodded shyly letting him place his big hand slowly on your covered breast.
You bit your bottom lip, feeling the same sensation you felt some years ago.
You shuttered your eyes tightly. On his side, Jungkook swallowed hard, his fingers gentle on the side of your breast.
“ok I’m gonna push lightly at some places and you’ll tell me where it hurts, yea?” you nodded looking at his beautiful hand on your skin.
stop y/n.
Jungkook dig two fingers in the soft flesh of your boob at your right side. You winced a little, not only because of the slight pain but the way his fingers on your skin made goosebumps raised on you.
You hated the way your body reacted to his touches. But he noticed it too, making him smile a little.
”Can you remove your bra please?“ You gasped as you opened your mouth wide.
“no there is no way I’m doing that Jungkook.”
He sighed still smiling “y/n, I’m here to help you and do my job.”
You groaned throwing your head back, revealing your cleavage more, his eyes couldn’t help, the view too tempting to not look.
His hands went to your sides stroking them softly.
“y/n look, I’m not forcing you. Just wanted to check if you had any bruise or anything.”
You didn’t know how but a sudden wave of confidence hit you.
“you remember how to do it?”
You looked at him in his eyes, taking a deep breath before pulling him by the collar of his shirt, his lips too tempting to be kissed.
“can I?”
Jungkook kissed you immediately, sucking gently on your bottom lip making you moan.
“I missed you so much.” he said putting his forehead on yours, thumbs caressing your cheekbones.
“I missed you so much too.”
Jungkook spread your legs making room for him as he step inbetween them, grabbing your chin closing the gap between you two.
You folded your arms around his neck, combing your fingers through his hair as you pulled him down to capture his lips in a soft kiss.
His hands have found their way on your bare thighs, his thumbs brushing against the smooth skin.
Your heart started pounding as he grabbed you by your hips pulling you closer to him.
He pulled away from the kiss, caressing your cheek with the back of his hand.
“you’re so beautiful. you didn’t change at all, just got prettier.” he said licking his lips.
“can say the same to you.” you muttered.
His hands were still on your thighs, fingers drawing little random patterns.
Heart beating faster, you hesitantly grabbed one of his hand dragging it up slowly to the hem of your skirt. You needed him right now. You missed him way too much to not take the opportunity to have him touch you again.
Jungkook looked at you astonished, his eyes darkening as you continued sliding his hand up under your skirt.
He bit his bottom lip, hand gripping at the flesh ”are you sure?“
You nodded letting go of his wrist.
His hand got higher, reaching the hem of your panties. He caressed your lightly covered core gently with his fingertips making you gasp softly.
Jungkook’s lips found your neck, peppering little kisses on the smooth skin.
Your hands flew to his hair, tugging at the locks.
“Jungkook.“ you whimpered as you felt his fingers tug on your panties.
“can I take these off?“
”please yes.” you looked at him mouth ajar as your thoughts ran wild into your head.
He slid the underwear down your legs as he crouched down.
Past your ankles, he stood up slowly, putting the panties in his blouse pocket.
He came back between your thighs, his fingers went on your skin caressing their way under your skirt, he started teasingly sliding two fingers up and down your core.
You sighed, furrowing your eyebrows as his touches made you weak.
You felt one of his finger poke at your entrance before entering you slowly.
”f-fuck Jungkook.”
He smiled satisfied, the way his name dripped from your tongue made blood rush down there.
The tightness of his pants getting uncomfortable.
He added another finger, going in and out slowly.
When he felt you tighten around his fingers, he pulled them away, lifting them up to his mouth before sucking them clean.
”ew.” you whined disgusted. “now why would you do that?”
“and why?!“ you groaned frustrated as you felt your high fading.
”why? I want you to cum around me baby.” he whispered before unbuckling his belt impatiently.
Jungkook pulled his pants and boxer down at once, freeing his painful erection from its confinement.
”f-fuck.“ he groaned.
”look what you did. You made me hard fuck.“ he breathed out.
You hooked one of your legs around his waist pulling him closer to you.
He held his cock in his hand, pumping it a few times before positioning himself at your entrance.
He rub the head of his cock teasingly between your glistening lips before slapping it on your throbbing clit making you whimpered loudly.
“Jungkook please!”
He put his hand over your mouth silencing you.
“shh. baby you’ll have to stay quiet, hm?“
You nodded eagerly making him smirk.
”You ready?“ he whispered as he started penetrate you.
“yes.” you breathed out.
Jungkook entered you slowly, making you threw your head back. He waited for you, to check if you’re still fine. Looking at any sign of discomfort before continuing.
”you can m-move.”
He started moving, going in and out of you slowly, feeling your warmth.
You felt every inch of his cock, the vein on the side rubbing against your wall.
“you feel so good around me baby.. so good fuck.”
He shifted a bit, adjusting himself as he grabbed one of your thigh higher.
The angle helped him hit deeper, brushing your g-spot making you cried out softly, your hands clenching at his shirt.
”I c-can’t.” you whimpered, feeling your orgasm approaching.
”are you near princess?“ he asked as he sucked softly on your neck, decorating the soft skin with red little marks.
You nodded, tears threatening to fall.
Jungkook’s hand travelled down between your bodies, finding your bud of nerves rubbing little circles on it to add stimulation.
The touches were enough to push you over the edge of your climax.
”Jungkook I’m gonna-”
He kissed you, holding your cheek gently.
You let the tears slid down your cheeks as you came around him.
It felt too good, the pleasure too overwhelming.
The way your walls convulsed around him made him feel dizzy.
”ahh sh- fuck.” he groaned burying his head into the crook of your neck.
He couldn’t hold on any longer as he came inside you, filling you up to the brim, your velvety walls still clenching tightly around his throbbing cock.
You let your head dropped on his chest breathlessly, his hand coming up on your head, stroking your hair gently.
”I love you y/n.”
You looked up at him smiling shyly.
“I love you too koo.”
”I missed you so much. Really. I’ve thought about you a lot when I was in Canada..” he said breathlessly as he wiped your tears away.
“you’ve never called me.” you rolled your eyes sniffing.
”please let’s talk about all that later.“ he sighed deeply.
Jungkook pulled out slowly making you hiss, feeling the warm fluid dripping out of you. He went to grab some tissues at his desk, helping cleaning you up, then the table.
”when was the last time you were on your period?“ he asked out of nowhere.
“what?“ you asked confused.
”I mean, for the consultation. I need to know.” he replied.
“Oh yea. hmm, it was last month if I remember correctly, 3 weeks?”
”Can I still check? you didn’t take your bra off. Or you rather tell me if there is any-”
”y-yea, go on.” you cleared your voice.
After checking if there were any bruises or anything abnormal, he helped you getting dressed.
”well, nothing too bad. It’s on hormone levels.” he started.
“you probably know that a few days before your period starts, both breasts can swell and become tender, painful. During the menstrual cycle, various hormones cause changes in breast tissue that can lead to pain or discomfort in some women.” he continued, making some gestures with his hands as he explained.
“(ok guys, I’ll just stop here because I don’t want to say bullshit lmao, pls act like I did write an amazing explanation or something like that please. I’m sorry.) *But if it hurts more than usual, you will have to come back but like I told you it’s due to your period that starts soon.” he finished before tapping your thigh softly.
He helped you down the examination table, your legs a bit shaky. You walked to his desk, then sat on the chair facing him.
”I’ll prescribe you some pain killer.” he said writing down on a sheet.
“Is your phone number still the same?“
”yes.“ you replied instantly.
Jungkook took his phone, tapping on the screen. You heard your phone vibrating, signaling that you got a message.
Obviously, it’s from him, you thought before you rolled your eyes.
You took it ouf of your bag but before you could see what he texted you, he snatched it from your hands.
”yo what the-“
“aw you still have my number after all these years.” he smiled staring at the screen.
“and the nickname… it’s still the same..”
Your cheeks burned up as you got up trying to take it back.
“C’mon give it back Jungkook!”
He gave it back to you before getting up.
“here.” he handed you the prescription sheet.
“thanks.”
“I’m just doing my job.” he smiled playfully.
“do you have sex with all your patients doctor Jeon?” you raised an eyebrow making him roll his eyes.
“nah just my soon-to-be girlfriend.” he replied cheekily.
You smiled before slapping his arm “idiot.”
“wait. Can I have my panties back?” you asked as you stopped in your tracks.
Jungkook tilted his head to the side, taking the underwear out of his pocket lifting it up.
“these? hm I’ll give it back to you tonight princess.” he smirked.
“I’m not gonna walk out of here without my panties Jungkook.” you exclaimed.
“oh you’ll have to, love.” he opened the door pushing you gently outside.
“you don’t have the right to do that!” you whisper-yelled to him.
“bye, see you tonight.” he smiled maliciously, gesturing his next patient to come inside his office.
“wait Jungkook no-”
“sorry i have a patient.” he shrugged before closing the door.
A/N : i really want to apologize for this. I don’t know what it is 💀 pls forgive me guys.

he shrugs his shoulder, “damn… really? can we still do it today though?”
“NO.”
bonus:
“baji you’ve got to stop moving so fast.”
he cocks his head to the side, “why? I was just trying to help moron.” you purse your lips trying to keep the conversation civil. “that’s not the point.”
“then what is the point?” he shoots back, filling the space between you. so close that he just might—

So I very rarely get super personal on this blog just for the sake of it, but given there was already a much…darker version of this post sitting in drafts until just a short while ago, and maybe someone here might need to hear an uplifting real-life story tonight, I figured I’d go ahead and draft up and post this anyway.
See, I’m sure all of y’all here have noticed my relative lack of activity with any large project over the past five months, but what y’all don’t know is that this has largely been due to some pretty serious health issues — not the least of all being that…over the past…three-ish months of those five, I have had to stare down the very real possibility that I might have a pretty serious form of Leukemia. I was bounced from doctor to doctor about this, test after test, and not much of it looked good, if I’m being perfectly honest.
During all of that time up to today, I had been sitting around contemplating much of my existence, and how, at last, when the most difficult news of all came, I would break that news to everyone — what I would do, say, etc. I must’ve run through all the scenarios a million times, drafted up at least ten different letters for different people in my life, even recorded a cover of a song through which I wanted to say goodbye to everyone here, if it came to it (and which still sits in my video gallery currently, as though still waiting to be used).
Needless to say, although they had their moments as life always does, these past months have been overall a living Hell, and it only got progressively worse with every new piece of concerning news, up until today — the day I finally was able to go see the oncologist. (Doctors are often booked out for months around here rn — weeks at best.)
Prior to the visit, I had been informed by my GP that the oncologist would overlook all of my results ahead of time, and call to cancel the visit with me herself if she found/determined there was nothing worth being concerned over.
Well, the cancel call never came, so I think you can understand when I say that I went in full expectation of the worst case scenario; I mean, clearly she had thought it critical enough to keep the appointment, so that kind of spoke volumes for itself even without having seen her.
I don’t think I’ll ever be able to forget the long time spent alone in the doctor’s office, waiting for her to arrive: there was some of the most gorgeous, peaceful instrumental music you could imagine playing softly, and as I was sitting there, forms in hand, staring down the room around me, I was just thinking to myself how that music clearly said exactly what this place was: it’s a place where people go to get basically the worst news of their lives imaginable, and try their best to cope with and struggle against their mortal illnesses. And this music was so pretty and peaceful because the patients needed it.
And here I was. Today I was one of those patients.
I sat there contemplating over my life and realizing that this was going to be the last moment that anything was even somewhat normal again for me. The last moments before life changing news.
I can’t begin to explain how that feels.
…And then the doctor came in and she was immediately telling me, like, more or less, “Oh honey, why are you here? lol We tried to call you to tell you not to come in — you don’t need all this stress for no reason, go on home, there’s nothing to worry about, you’re fine.”
Apparently she had, in fact, made an attempt to contact me because she wanted to spare me the stress of coming after reviewing the results and deciding I was fine, just like my GP said, but the call just hadn’t gone through.
The relief that I have inside of me today knowing that I am okay is beyond anything I could ever put into words. I cried the entire several hour drive home, and even now, as I type this up, I find myself tearing up just a little again in sheer gratitude and amazement and comfort.
Even if things had gone badly, I wouldn’t have had any regrets, but truly nothing makes me happier to know that I will be around for a long, long while here still — with the people and things that I love, with the strangers, with the haters, and everyone else in between.
Please never take life for granted. Live in the present and try to be as grateful for every moment as you possibly can. Life really is beautiful and precious and so, so worth living, so live it to the fullest and always remember that there can be hope.
No matter how bad things seem, there’s always a chance for hope to shine through.
It did for me. It can for you too.
I love you all so much.

heyo! i’m trans neutral but have reaaally been wanting to get a hysterectomy at some point in the near future (like <10yrs preferably), do you have posts from the past talking about what yours was like or got any general info to share? somehow it’s easier for me to read about peoples’ personal experiences on tumblr than it is to look up the procedure itself (major major squicking) so really i’ll take anything and everything you got. how much of That Organ Situation you managed to throw in the garbage can (i personally would like as much of that as possible out of my own carcass), how long recovery was after the surgery, sort of what the process looked like to get it done (like who you had to go through or any tests like seeing a g*no), etc etc etc. i’m on mobile so tumblr is kicking my paragraph break like halfway down the screen rn which is why this is a thick blob of words but thank you in advance for any advice you have or even just for reading this message :>
Happy to help!
Prep work
I did some internet searching to find a trans friendly OB/GYN in my area. It was actually pretty easy since I was living in Austin at the time, but ymmv. If you, too, are anywhere near Austin, I highly recommend Dr. Jenna Mushtaler. I told her what I wanted done and she basically went Cool, let's do it. It sounds like this won't apply to you, but I needed a total hysterectomy (removal of the uterus, cervix, and both ovaries) to get phalloplasty, and also my mom & her sister have both had tumors and/or cancers in those parts, so there was plenty of medical justification for it. If you're not transitioning and don't have other extenuating circumstances like PCOS or teratomas, you'll probably be given a standard hysto, which does not remove the ovaries; otherwise you'll be on HRT for the rest of your life (which isn't such a bad thing, it's just an extra thing).
I had to get I think two letters from mental health professionals, but that's a gatekeeping step non-transitioning folk aren't forced to endure.
Note that if you're under 35 and in the US, you may get pushback, but that's where going to a trans-friendly doctor comes in handy because they're less likely to piss and moan about children.
I asked the doctor if I could get one of my ovaries in a specimen jar, but that was a no go.
I'm pretty sure they made me take a piss test for pregnancy right before surgery, which was just lip service really in my case since I hadn't done anything that could conceivably lead to that in almost a year.
Right after surgery
I was kept overnight in the hospital. I woke up about once an hour to piss like a racehorse—they kept me pumped full of fluids all night, so that was the intention—while being gently made fun of by two jovial nurses who disconnected and reconnected my IV lines for me as needed.
I went home the next morning. My doctor gave me photos of my insides from the surgery and of the uterus & cervix on the little tray after removal. I still need to get those framed. In my opinion I have a cute liver.
Recovery
I was out of work for I think 4 weeks; I work an office job so that was sufficient, but if you lift things at work you might be out 6-8 weeks.
The first two weeks I was absolutely useless, sleeping in a recliner most of the time and only waking up to pee and take more Vicodin. Some friends gave me a freezer buddy, which is a stuffed toy filled with temperature-retaining pellets (mine's a penguin!), which I kept on my lower belly most of the time. I didn't have a lot of soreness, I think largely because I was taking pain meds on a timer, but standing up was not particularly fun. The second two weeks I was more cogent and mobile; by the fourth week I was fully ready to be a living person again.
One week after I had a follow-up appointment. My doctor comfirmed what I had suspected for a very, very long time: both ovaries were riddled with cysts.
One thing that kinda sucked was I could only take sponge baths and use dry shampoo for the first two weeks. Get you some wet wipes.
Every so often for the first year, I'd get a little bit of pain in one of the voids where an ovary used to be. Nothing serious, just a short-lived little ache. I haven't had one of those for a few years now. I also had a few hot flashes here and there because my estrogen level had fully flatlined.
Overall it was a pretty easy recovery—but a big part of that is I had someone there with me pretty much at all times.
There has been exactly one downside to life without my puppy box and cyst factories: I have to pee ALL THE TIME. Usually once every 1-2 hours, sometimes more often than that when I'm drinking a lot of water. I talked to my mom and a friend who've both had hysterectomies and they confirmed it happened to them too. I drink 3-5 liters of water a day, though, so that's a factor. But I could definitely not make it in an Amazon warehouse or as a youtuber now, not that I could before. 1000000000% worth it.

things about ted lasso s3e5 “signs” that i can’t get over
whenever rebecca is seeing the psychic’s predictions come true, glimpses of ted are in the shot. the man she used to date wears a united scarf w the TED prominent as she hears the phrase “shite in nineing armor” which i still think is about jamie but that’s another post.
when she looks at the green matchbook in her office the biscuit box is right there as well. when she meets with the doctor he starts off the conversation with a phrase similar to what ted says when he meets her. i’m not necessarily shipping ted and rebecca but i’m obsessed with the hints and signs. i am being convinced through the subtle signs.
and then when they see each other in the hallway and reference psychics and bullies and freak each other out. THE PARALLELS. i love that they greet each other weirdly with “hi coach / hi rebecca” as opposed to their normal which is seen at the end “bye ted, bye boss”
in other storylines, i noticed in keeley’s office you can just barely see her desktop screen in the bottom right of some shots and it’s just the basic Apple background but those colors are bisexual. that has to be on purpose. right ?!!
i think so much about zava stealing jamie’s giving a motivational speech right before he leaves. “you will not win because of me” YEAH cause you leave in the next ten mins😭
ted turning away whenever he goes to talk with his family back home represents him retreating from the team
ted working through his panic attack is good to see but he still barely talked to the team until he was prompted by sam. i’m so interested to see if someone finally confronts him about his lack of energy this season.
jamie’s look of determination to get better even with zava gone and continuing to train with roy. my mind is going brrrrrrrrr rn

maybe in crushing stage?
Edit: I just noticed the poly ask. I’ll answer it in its own post as I’m in the doctors office rn.
Rice uses distraction here! It was super affective!

oh I have a positive update since I sorta left this blog by the wayside for a bit. But I have some happy stories from the last months
but I have the BEST nurse practitioner now from a pelvic pain specialist clinic. She is truly an Angel and I want to be her when I grow up even though I’m 25. I wanna brag on this woman. When my insurance didn’t approve my endo medication to relieve my pain she stomped down the hall and returned to me with a brown paper sack with a FOUR MONTH SUPPLY said it was a “free sample” and then within two days had my insurance rep meekly agreeing that the drug should be covered haha and found a local pharmacy in my area that had it for me. She apparently reamed them out over the phone that she is an expert in treating pelvic abdominal pain and their approval computer is not and does this on the regular for her patients. Holy shit.
when I had bladder pain she was on top of it figuring out if it was an adhesion, inflammation, or what and giving me treatment to relieve my pain. Holy shit, it worked!?
she referred me to a pelvic physical therapist who took me from “I’m in pain whenever my body decides to be aroused, and I can’t pee.” To being able to actually masturbate without any discomfort. Yo for two years orgasms made me feel like I had been punched in the stomach and put me in so much pain I would be nauseous. I’m ace af but I got a real swell sleep aid back and that’s great. Plus I can pee again. Miracles. I can use the biggest dilator now. That’s huge. I was struggling with number 3 last time I posted here my dudes.
recently I told her I was terrified my treatment options would be impacted by roe, and she said she would lawyer up or drive across state lines to refer me to a surgeon if anyone tried to tell her not to make her patients a priority or how to treat them. She knows I’m not interested in children and despite my age she promises the second my less invasive medications don’t work she will start working on a plan to remove the affected tissue even if they need to remove structures like Fallopian tubes or one of my very cyst-ridden ovaries because I know who I am and can decide my reproductive future obviously. (A really rare point of view in a lot of folks in the gyno setting tbh). ((I don’t want to recover from a surgery rn and the medicines have been effective so I’m ok))
I would cry and remember being physically hurt during exams by other doctors and nurses before going to appointments. I have trauma surrounding medical situations due to the neglect I faced in the past. This past august for the first time in a good while I went into her office and had full faith she would care about my concerns and hold my interests as a priority in my treatment. I have NEVER had a provider like this before. I’ve gained my functional daily life back enough to go back to uni, I’m in nursing school.
I genuinely want to be someone like her who makes people who have been vulnerable and ignored in the healthcare setting feel seen. Even if I could only become a fourth the nurse she is it would be an honor. My life has been measurably improved because I finally have a provider who listens to me. I still got endo, I still have bad days when I flare up, but I have tools to cope with it now and the flares have been less severe and less frequent. Surgery in the future when my insurance stabilizes will be the ideal way to reduce the pain long term but until then… I’m doing better than I have in years with her.

@sicktember Prompt # 20: Doctor Visit/Checkup
Title: The Best Medicine
Fandom: N/A
Based on this post by me. (Sick doctor)
A physician leaves work miserably sick. His RN girlfriend takes care of him.
(Author’s Note: This breaks the rule I set of less than 2k words but I wrote it before I decided to do this challenge and thought it worked well here. I just needed a sick doctor having PE performed on them ok 😅)
Due to the fact that it was 6:30 AM and she was still more asleep than awake, it took her a while to realize the man she was dating was standing behind her as she waited in line for coffee. However, in her defense, she had never seen him in this coffee line at this time of day before (and she herself was here at this time every day).
It wasn't until she heard a familiar, sniffly yawning noise that she turned and caught his eye.
"Shane? What are you doing here? You're usually sleeping right now." She didn't go to greet him right away, mainly because she didn't want to lose her place in line, and only two people stood between her and caffeination.
He too looked startled, though happy to see her. "Molly, hey," he said. There was a squeaky rasp to his voice and he had to clear his throat before he could continue. "Had an early meeting that got cancelled at the last minute. Since I was already awake, figured I'd come into the office early and clear out my inboxes."
"Gotcha. Well cool, that means I get to treat you to coffee for once. You find a place to sit and I'll get the drinks."
He shot her a grateful look and stepped out of line.
Molly ordered, received, and paid for the coffees quickly, tipping generously, before going to join Shane. He kissed her on the cheek as he took his cup, and they shared a warm smile as they made their way to a little sitting area, sharing a bench against the wall.
"Kathy's coffee is the best in the hospital. You'll love this."
"So you've told me many times. I'm glad I finally get to try it. What did you get me?"
"A surprise. You'll like it, trust me."
"Cheers, then." With another smile, they tapped their cups together before taking long pulls of their beverages.
"This is delicious," he said after a moment. "Best I've ever had from here. Thanks, babe."
"My pleasure." They sat for a bit in companionable silence, sipping their drinks. However, Molly couldn't help but cast sidelong glances at her partner with increasing frequency. Now that she was next to him, she saw he looked quite unwell. He was pale and shivery, with a flush over his cheeks and ears, and looking overall rundown and uncomfortable, a far cry from his usual easy smile and warm, steady demeanor.
"Is everything ok, doc? You really don't look good."
"You're saying I look ugly today?" he countered teasingly, dodging the question.
She nudged him playfully. "You're just as handsome as ever. I'm saying you look sick. Are you feeling ok?"
He shrugged. "Think I'm just tired. Not used to being up so early. My head and throat are kinda sore I guess."
"Just tired, huh?" She reached out and placed her palm to his forehead, then his flushed cheeks, and finally his neck, where she could feel the swollen lymph nodes she had already seen. She clicked her tongue scoldingly.
"That's a fever, Doctor Mitchell, and a high one at that. Why in the world did you come to work today?"
"No kidding, really?" Shane leaned back against the wall, rubbing his neck and looking sheepish. "I can't even remember the last time I had a fever. Had to have been before medical school. Guess I forgot what it feels like."
"Hmm. Well regardless, you need to go home. You can't risk infecting your patients and staff."
"Yeah, of course. I'll go now."
When he stood, she did as well, wrapping her arms around him in a tight hug.
"Feel better. Get lots of rest and fluids."
"I know the drill," he rasped, smiling a little. "I am a physician."
"Sometimes I have my doubts, mister 'doesn't know what a fever feels like.' Sports medicine doesn't deal with the flu much." She kissed his shoulder fondly.
"Yeah, yeah." He pulled away, running his thumb over her jawline. "Thanks again for the coffee. I'll see you later. Text me when you have time. I'm sure I'll be bored out of my mind."
"Will do."
She watched him go wistfully, wishing she was going with him.
Naturally he wasn't far from her thoughts for the rest of the day. The hospital OB-GYN clinic was as busy as ever, and the hustle and bustle kept Molly, an RN, quite distracted, but every moment of downtime found her wondering how Shane was doing.
She texted him a few times as he requested. The first time he replied right away, saying he had made it home safely and was relaxing on the couch. The second time he replied a few hours later, saying how tired he was and how he really was starting to feel unwell, but he was doing fine. The third time he never replied.
Her plans for the weekend had been solidified in her mind as soon as she felt how feverish he was. She practically ran out the door as soon as she clocked out. Her first stop was her house to change clothes, shower, and gather some supplies. Her second stop was Shane's favorite soup and sandwich place for two quarts of soup and two sandwiches to go. From there, she headed to Shane's condo across town.
She hadn't informed him she was coming because she had wanted it to be a bit of a surprise. Initially her plan was to leave the soup and sandwich on the stoop and ring the bell, then duck out of sight until the last minute. However, her plan changed when she caught a glimpse of him through the front door.
He was fast asleep, sprawled out on his stomach on the couch. Bundled under two blankets and snoring with his mouth open, surrounded by a nest of used tissues and dishes, he was the picture of illness.
She didn't have the heart to wake him by knocking, so instead she used her copy of his house key to let herself in quietly, being careful not to let the cold air in with her. He didn't stir even after she shut and re-locked the door. After removing her coat, she deposited the items she had brought in the kitchen, then returned to his side. Perching on the edge of the couch, she ran her hand over his face and through his hair to wake him.
He stirred weakly, mumbling and snuffling as he opened his eyes. His face lit up upon seeing her, and he quickly sat up, leaning all of his sleepy, overly-warm weight against her for a tight hug.
"Molly, you're here! I'mb so habby to see you," he croaked earnestly.
She hugged him back just as tightly. "Of course I'm here. When you stopped replying to my texts, I knew I had to come check on you. You look so sick, poor guy, and you're so stuffed up. Are you surviving?"
He shrugged, pulling away. "I guess. I'mb doi'g ok. So achy and tired. Just been sleebi'g all day." He licked his cracked lips and tried to swallow, which resulted in a grimace. "Budt you should go, babe. I don'dt wandt you to catch this. It's ndasty."
As if to prove his point, he turned away from her to cough productively into his elbow, thick and chesty. He followed it up with a honking nose blow that was far less productive. She watched this display sympathetically.
"I'm not leaving you all alone and sick like this. And anyway, if I do get sick, I think I know a doctor who could take care of me." She bumped her shoulder against his. He smiled wanly. "Now, have you taken any medicine recently?"
He sheepishly averted his eyes. "Umb… ndo. I… don'dt really have anythi'g to take."
"Ugh, Shane. Don't tell me you're one of those 'it only treats the symptoms' purists."
"Ndo, it's ndot thad. Like I told you, I just haven't been sigck in years. I've never thought to buy cold mbedicine."
"You're such a guy," she sighed. "Even if you are a doctor. You at least got your flu shot right?"
"Yeah. Budt they're already sayi'g it's probably ndot goi'g to be very effective this year."
"Of course they are." She sighed again. "However, I had a hunch this would happen, so I came prepared." She quickly retrieved a bag from the kitchen which rattled with medications, sitting down beside him again. She selected the ones she wanted and shook them into his hand, watching closely as he swallowed them.
"You're acti'g like you don'dt trust mbe to take care of mbyself," he teased, taking several gulps of water to chase the pills.
"That's not necessarily true. I just want to do everything possible to help you feel better."
He had to cough harshly again before he could answer, hard enough to redden his face. "I love thad you wandt to take care of mbe. Budt you should really go. I'mb so contagious right ndow, and I don'dt wandt to try to stay away from you."
"Then don't. I came here to be close to you. I don't care if I get sick. It's the weekend anyway. I'm here for you and only you. Besides, you were probably contagious yesterday too, and we still made out. So it doesn't matter anyway."
"You're too good to mbe," he mumbled, finally succumbing and leaning his full weight against her, closing his eyes as he wrapped his arms loosely around her. "Budt I still don'dt approve. You're staying AMA, just so we're clear."
"Call me a rebel, then," she murmured, stroking his sweaty hair.
He sneezed suddenly, only once, but wet and laborious, catching it in his elbow. She quickly pulled a tissue from the nearby box. He took it gratefully, blowing his stopped nose as best he could before resting against her again. He sighed deeply as she resumed her petting.
"You're lugcky the desire to be taken care of when sigck is a deebply ingrained biological traidt," he continued to mumble, sounding sleepier by the second.
"I am, huh? Well you're talking an awful lot for someone who has no voice."
She felt him smile against her, but he did fall silent for a while, aside from his sniffling and soft coughing. She thought he was going back to sleep when he spoke up again.
"You know whad would mbake mbe feel even better thad mbedicine? Sumb soubp."
"Hmm, well it just so happens you have a girlfriend who thinks of everything." She gently shifted him off of her, going back to the kitchen and returning with a quart of soup and a sandwich.
"Sal's chigcken rice?" he rasped, his eyes lighting up hungrily as he sat up straighter.
"Naturally. We've been together almost two years. I know what you like when you're not feeling good."
"You're a lifesaver," he groaned, taking the proffered food and digging in right away.
"I'm glad you have an appetite anyway. I won't ever forget last year's stomach flu incident."
"Ugh, don'dt rembind mbe," he said with a shudder. "Bud other than thad one time, I'll always have an abbetite for this soubp. This is all I've wanted all day." He wolfed down the food with unexpected vigor.
"Well then you're lucky I think of everything, like I said. And to think you wanted to kick me out."
"I ndever *wanted* you kigck you oud. I'm just goi'g to hade mbyself whed you ged sigck," he mumbled, swallowing a mouthful.
"Maybe I won't get sick, did you think of that? And like I've been saying--" She leaned in to kiss him fully on the mouth, long and hard, until he pulled away gasping. "--I don't care. As long as you promise to take care of me if I do, I won't complain about a few days off. So stop worrying."
"Ugh, take it easy babe," he moaned, pressing a hand to his forehead. "This fever has mby blood flow all mbessed ub. You can'dt be usi'g your lips on mbe like thad."
"Don't worry, I'm not planning to seduce you today. Unless you instigate it of course." She gave him a wicked look and he flushed.
"You're something else, Mol," he muttered, unable to hide a smile.
"Just eat your 'soob'."
He did what he was told while she tidied up his sick bed area. When he was almost done, she fetched another bag from the kitchen and began rummaging through it. He eyed the items she pulled out suspiciously.
"How much crabp did you bri'g? And whad are you doi'g ndow?"
"Something I've always wanted to do. And something I think will make you smile."
"I feel like I've been smili'g since you godt here."
It was Molly's turn to flush and smile. "Something that might make you laugh, then."
She sat close beside him on the couch with her stethoscope around her neck, placing a little tablet of paper and a pen in front of her on the table.
"Constitution:" she both said this out loud and wrote it on the paper. "Well-nourished. Unwell appearing today. Complains of malaise and myalgia. Lymphatics:"
She had been neatly writing everything down as she spoke. After the last word, she reached out to gently palate the visibly swollen lymph nodes in his neck. He moaned softly as she massaged them, the moan turning into a cough.
"Cervical lymphadenopathy noted. Lymph nodes tender to palpation." She wrote this down as well.
"Whad are you doi'g, Mol?"
"You get to be a doctor all the time. Today you're definitely the patient, so I'm taking my turn being the doctor and doing a physical exam on you. We need to make a diagnosis after all."
"Ah, of course. Mby apologies, please continue," he said with a little laugh, wiping his nose with a tissue.
"Thank you. Open your mouth please." Inserting a thermometer under his tongue, she also took his pulse with her watch as the thermometer calibrated.
"Resting heart rate is elevated at 86 bpm. Temperature is abnormal at 101.8 degrees Fahrenheit."
"I could've told you thad. I just toogk my tembp before you godt here."
"I find that hard to believe since you were sleeping when I got here. Now shh. Actually say 'ah'." She situated a tongue depressor in his mouth, peering in. "Throat erythematous and inflamed," she said and wrote. "Now lean forward a bit if you would."
He did as he was told, looking slightly put-upon and she slid the diaphragm of her stethoscope under his worn university tee shirt, placing it on his back as she listened to him breathe for a moment. "Minor ronchi noted. No crackles or rales. Minimal concern for pneumonia at this time."
"Well thad's a relief," he said, sniffling wetly.
"Shh, I still need to listen to your heart," she said, sliding the diaphragm of the stethoscope around to his chest.
"Terrible beside manner. I'm leavi'g a ndegative review."
She gave him her sternest "doctor" look. He merely smiled impishly. She sighed, biting back a smile of her own, and listened again.
"Normal rhythm. L-1, L-2 heard."
Setting aside the instruments, she slid her hands under his shirt, feeling gently.
"Skin is overly warm or feverish. Abdomen is soft, non-tender and non-distended."
"You didn't have to go under mby shirt, you know. Abdominal exam cad be done over clothi'g," he said, smirking.
"I was being… thorough," she said with a wink.
He chuckled hoarsely. "Someone's godt the hots for their patiendt. Thad's trouble," he murmured, stifling a yawn as he pulled his blanket closer around himself with a shiver.
"Neurologic: grossly normal. Tremors noted due to chills. Psychiatric: patient is oriented to person, place, time. Behavior normal, but appears lethargic, fatigued and sleepy."
After writing down these final notes, she cuddled up beside him on the couch, wrapping him in her arms and pulling him close as he started shivering in earnest. He nestled against her wearily.
"How did I do?" she murmured. "Did I make you laugh a little at least?"
"Very thorough and efficiendt," he mumbled sleepily, coughing. "And yes you did. Whad's your diagnosis and treadtment plan, doctor?"
"At best a severe case of rhinovirus. I'm more inclined to think influenza due to the fever, but we'll continue to monitor. No active intervention needed at this time. Bed rest at home, OTC medication as needed and adequate hydration recommended." At this she handed him his water bottle. He drank several big gulps before handing it back to her and snuggling in again.
"If that's what the doctor orders," he sniffled, closing his eyes.
She held him for a while, since that seemed to be all he wanted, just rubbing his back and stroking his hair. However, they were forced to move when Shane pulled away to break into one of his barking, painful coughing fits. He tried to settle again after the fact, making a face.
"I don't feel good, Mol," he mumbled pathetically. "This sugcks."
"I know, doc. But I'm doing everything I can to help you feel better. I didn't realize your fever was so high though," she murmured. "And that was after you took medicine. But you seemed just fine yesterday. You don't do anything by halves, do you?"
"Thad's one of the reasons you have the hots for mbe, you know id is," he croaked.
"The only thing with the hots around here is that fever. You're sweltering."
"Sorry," he mumbled, yet made no effort to move off of her. Instead he sneezed wetly into his elbow.
"Update, you're sweltering *and* gross," she said conversationally. Yet she made no effort to move away from him either, kissing his forehead instead. He yawned as she did. "And sleepy."
"Thingk I'm just sigck," he muttered.
"Yeah, let's go with that. Do you want to go back to sleep right now?"
"Ndo. Ndot while you're here. I'm too sigck to sleeb anyway."
"There's no such thing as being too sick to sleep. But if you don't want to sleep right now, I have one more present for you."
"You've already given mbe too mbuch."
"There's no such thing as that either." She carefully shifted out from under him again and attempted to head to the kitchen once more. Before she could take more than a step though, he caught her hand and made her turn around. Seeing his imploring look, she stepped back into the V of his legs. He wrapped his arms fully around her, burying his hot face in her abdomen.
"Thangk you mbuch for the soubp and mbedicine, baby. You really are a lifesaver. I just wanted to tell you thad."
She nuzzled her face into his messy hair. "Anything to help you feel better. I can tell you're still miserable though."
"Nodt miserable with you here."
"Just sick."
"Mhm," he mumbled, sleepily as ever. She let him hold her for another moment or two before speaking again.
"Seriously though, I have something else I want to give you. It'll just take a second to grab."
"Fine," he sighed. As he pulled away, she saw a hazy, pre-sneeze look cross his face. Sure enough, as she trotted to the kitchen, behind her she heard him emit a pair of messy, rough sneezes.
"That soup really got your nose going, huh?" she asked as she reentered the living room.
"Guess so," he sniffled, blowing his nose thickly. "Thad's the poindt though, right?"
"Indeed it is." She moved to the entertainment center and quickly plugged her laptop into the TV.
"Now whad are you doi'g?"
"Maybe you should stop asking questions and just wait and see."
"You know I hade surprises."
"That's not true at all in my experience, so I'm calling your bluff on that one. But you won't have to wait long for this one either way."
After a few setting changes to allow the laptop display to be projected on the TV, Molly popped a disk into the drive and started it up.
"Are we watchi'g somethi'g?"
"You and your questions." She tossed a thick DVD case into his lap. He picked it up, his eyes widening happily.
"The original Jurassic Park trilogy? Holy crabp, this is awesome!"
"I'm glad you approve," she laughed, stepping into his arms again. "It was going to be your Christmas present, but I figured a sick day at home is an even better occasion."
"This is perfect, love. You're ambazing," he mumbled, squeezing her tightly.
"Anything for my best guy." She nuzzled his hair again fondly. "Anything to help you sleep."
"I don'dt wandt to sleeb while you're here though. I don'dt wandt to mbiss out on seei'g you."
"Well then you're in luck, because I'm planning on staying here all weekend. So I'll be here when you fall asleep and when you wake up. No time wasted at all."
A grin split his face. "You'd do thad for mbe?"
"I wouldn't dream of doing otherwise. Doctors need to be looked after too, especially by their nurse girlfriends. So you stretch out and get comfortable and leave the rest to me."
"You're cooler than anadomy and dinosaurs combined, you know thad?"
Molly giggled happily. "I don't know if I'll ever come back from such high praise. You better quit while you're ahead, Dr. Mitchell."
"Only if you promise to make mbe coffee in the morni'g. Your good coffee."
"Sounds like a plan," she said with a grin and another kiss.

fuck man, im feelin real warm and fuzzy about 💫💫gender💫💫💫 rn
i was lovescrolling thru the enby tag bc sometimes life is shit and you need a little positive reinforcement from literally anywhere god please someone call me by the right pronouns i beg of you
and it got me thinking about some of these small things people did for me in regards to the whole queer thing that im still really grateful for, like some of it was basic shit but fuck did it mean a lot to me
so thanks to
My doctor who remembers to use my correct pronouns every time I see her, assured me she wouldn’t say anything to my mom, gave me a number for a gender clinic I could speak to if I was so inclined, and told me she’d change the information on my files the moment it was safe to do so (I didn’t want to risk someone accidentally telling my parents)
My two best friend who bought me a binder for my birthday without me even saying anything because they thought it might make me feel more comfortable
One of my friend’s ex-boyfriends who once texted me on a random weekday while he was in class because he accidentally misgendered me in a conversation with her and wanted to apologize
The girl in my chemistry class who has the same English teacher as me in a different period and spent an hour and a half jumping through hoops to avoid misgendering or outing me before thinking to ask if I was out to people at school
My study hall teacher who listened to me complain about not being able to see my girlfriend because she’s grounded without batting an eye and then let her spend her lunch period in class
My health teacher who made it a point to avoid splitting the class up by sex whenever possible and when it wasn’t reminded us constantly that it was based on bodily function and not gender
My girlfriend’s friend Sheldon who fist bumped me when I told him I wasn’t a girl
The nurse who checked my vitals before and after getting my gallbladder taken out who had a rainbow flag sticker on her badge and listened to me when I told her I was a little terrified that I might accidentally come out to my parents when I was under anthesis (she promised me that I’d likely be far too out of it to be making any actual sense)
The school nurse who let my rest in a private area of her office because I’d worn my binder for like a week and a half straight and was starting to have a lot chest pain and didn’t say a word to my parents
My teachers in general for being awesome and never saying a fucking thing to my parents about girlfriends or gay jokes or pronouns or anything of the sort, truly angels
Anyone who’s ever complimented my rainbow button pin
My brother who lent me his old clothes despite my mom not wanting me to wear men’s clothing and also convincing her to let me cut my hair as short as I want
My writing mentor who compared religious queer trauma with me and also understood all of the very unsubtle queer symbolism I was shoving into my writing
My first crush who came out as nonbinary and gay, and hugged me when I pulled an uno reverse card on them
Every friend of mine who made a whole bunch of gender jokes and puns with me when I first came-out because I was nervous as hell and I desperately needed something to normalize it so I didn’t feel like I was some strange alien every time I corrected someone on my pronouns
All the people who post those ‘you are valid’ posts, I’m slightly embarrassed to admit that one those made me cry bc I was on my period and feeling shit and I really needed to hear that so thanks to that random stranger in particular

Sunshine on a Cloudy Day
Pairing: Rivetra | Levi x Petra
Summary: Forced to retire from the Scouts due to a major injury, Levi thinks he'll be spending the rest of his days in domestic solitude. Petra, however, has another idea.
Loosely based on The Way of the Househusband.
Or: Captain Petra x Househusband Levi canonverse AU
AO3 Link
A/N: Okay I've had this outlined for WEEKS (no ending in mind tho) but I never got around to actually drafting it. But....... I had some time this morning and the inspiration after seeing this post so yay.
Thanks to @sleeperswakewriting for introducing me to The Way of the Househusband. It's cute and funny and DEFINITELY RIVETRA in another universe.
This is going be a drabble series btw but no assurance on when I'll be updating each chapter (My Royalty AU draft is glaring at this fic rn tbh). Some chapters will be based on the Netflix show but Levi's condition is a bit different from Tatsu's so it'll probably be loosely based at best.
And yes, the title is from the song My Girl. But I like this version since I think it fits Petra the most :3
Also also, we all know deep down that Levi wants to be a househusband so here you go.

Chapter 1: The Ceremonies
There was a time when his mind wandered to how his career in the Scouts would end. Levi always thought he'd die on the battlefield, just as he witnessed among his comrades. He'd accepted that reality, sometimes even waiting for it despite his will to continue fighting on.
For some reason, retiring has never crossed his mind.
"Honorably discharged due to major leg injury, incomplete spinal cord injury, and loss of right eyesight."
He can still hear the pity and sadness from Erwin's voice from that day in the hospital when they talked over where he will go from there. The doctors mentioned that his spine will heal over time, but his leg is broken way beyond repair. It's worse enough that amputation was considered at one point. He'd be good as titan food should he retain his current position in the scouts.
At first, he wanted to scream. He wasn't the type to show some outwardly emotion (except for when he's beating down new recruits or the three males in his squad) but being a part of the Survey Corps is what gave this shit of a life some meaning after he was pulled out of the underground.
Frankly, he didn't know what's next.
"Hey, Captain." Petra's sweet voice snapped Levi out of his thoughts and he forces himself to get out of his bad mood. This was her day and he'd be damned if he ruins it for her.
Levi takes her in and the corner of his lip quirks up. He feels pride fill his chest as his eyes strays a bit on the insignia freshly pinned on her uniform.
"I think I should be the one calling you that, Ral." He replies. "Congratulations."
Wheelchair-bound for what may be the rest of his life, Levi and his squad had to sit down and talk over what's next for the Scout's elites. The obvious choice was Eld, but Levi and the rest of the team were surprised when the blonde man turned down the promotion. He says that while he had the leadership skills and the years of experience that makes him more than qualified, he knew that he didn't have the same burning dedication to the cause as much as he'd witnessed in others.
Eld said that he'd be glad to support the next team captain instead. Oluo, while skilled, had often been too focused on his kill count. Gunther has a strategic mind but didn't really have the charm to bring people together.
So they all turned their attention to Petra.
To be honest, Levi had always wanted to promote Petra as his second-in-command. However, Scout regulations demanded a certain number of years that she didn't have yet at the time he first chose his elite squad. He'd never had a problem with Eld, but his and Petra's ability to synchronise on the battlefield is the reason why he'd always turned to her when he needed a second hand.
It makes sense in his eyes and to the rest of the team, even when Erwin and the other soldiers were doubtful of his choice. They've seen how ferocious Petra is during expeditions, but still had the heart to cry alongside her dying comrades. She's kind and helpful, but knows when a hard decision is needed to be made. She'd pitched in her ideas and opinions every time she accidentally passed by the officers' meeting sessions (she always brought them tea so she sometimes hear the conversations). This was often met with a surprised look from her higher-ups but having worked with Petra for quite some time, Levi would just smirk at his fellow veterans.
She's still rough around the edges and she definitely still has more room to improve, but the potential is there. He wouldn't have chosen her as part of his team in the first place if he didn't see that fire.
He wasn't surprised that Eld, Gunther and Oluo supported her, even when Petra was terrified to accept such a responsibility. Levi was firm in his decision.
In the end, Erwin stamped on his approval.
Levi was the one who pinned the insignia on her signifying her new position during today's pinning-on ceremony.

"Hey, Captain!"
"I think you should stop calling me that, Petra."
"Sorry. Habit." The ginger blushes slightly as she steps closer inside the apartment, basket in hand. "I bought something for you."
She brings out a few fruits from the basket, laying it down on the dining table in his humble apartment. "The farmer's market was on sale today and I had the chance to pass by before they closed."
"You didn't have to buy me all these, Petra."
"I had to use my pay raise for something, Captain," she jests. He wheels himself towards her to assist her with unloading the basket and they both work in silent contentment.
"So, how's your first day?" Levi asks after washing the fruits. Petra's face lights up at his question and the whole room seems to come alive as she chatters on.
"Holy Maria, Captain. I didn't know the team can be this stupid. No wonder you had dark eyebags after training us for years!"
- - -
It's been three months since he resigned from the Scouts. The new captain never fails to come home to the apartment he's renting near the Scout HQ everyday.
Come home? Tch. How delusional can you get.
He'd welcome her back every expedition and every training day. A part of him feels a bit of guilt gnaw on him when he sees how tired Petra is whenever she comes home, thinking of the time when he was her direct commanding officer.
"Captain, can I sleep here tonight?"
Now, he sees the sorrow and fatigue in her eyes. "You're always welcome here, Petra."
He offers to give up his bed for the night but she declines, saying that she'll be fine on the couch. She's unnaturally quiet, but he knows that this is how she typically is after expeditions.
They're both on the couch right now and she snuggles closer to him. Levi motions for her to lay her head on his lap, their boundaries thinning with every single visit.
He's quiet when he sees the tears start to fall from her eyes. Soon, Petra's sobbing and she wraps her arms desperately around him. His hand starts to slowly run through her ginger locks, hoping it gives her some comfort.
"She was the last in my and Oluo's batch." She starts, voice shaking and he gives her space to talk and mourn her comrade. "I wanted to save her... but it was either her or compromise the mission. I had to give the order."
"I'm sorry." Because if someone understands her better, it's him.
- - -
"Levi?"
It's the scout's day off today and they're all allowed to leave the vicinity to visit friends and family, or simply just to fuck around if they wanted.
Petra, not surprisingly, decides to spend another weekend with him.
"Hmm?" He's currently preparing their lunch, wheeling himself around the kitchen area.
"Did you ever think about settling down when you were still in the scouts?"
He cocks an eyebrow at her question. "And leave a widow crying on my grave? I didn't even have the time to date, Petra."
And he didn't even want to date someone else. Not when he kept having wet dreams about his own subordinate at that time.
"Well, you have a chance now, right?" Petra starts to help with laying down the dishes on the table. He looks at her, eyes taking in her body language. She's doing that thing with her hands again where she tries to occupy it with things to do whenever she's nervous. She's too tense for this to be some absent chatter.
"Just spit it out, Petra."
"What I'm trying to say is that I'm always here. In this apartment. Whether I'm back from training or meetings or expeditions," she starts. Levi wheels himself forward to grab their food from the small kitchen but he attentively listens to each of her words. Seeing that he won't be replying, Petra decides to continue.
"I like coming home to you, Levi. And I'm still devoted to you." Petra nervously says, the redness on her cheeks intensifying. Levi feels his heart thump at her last sentence. He stops what he's doing and looks straight into her amber eyes, the same moment as she reaches out to delicately hold both of his hands. "I'd like to continue doing so... if you'll have me in another way."
Bold as ever is the first thing that fondly came to his mind. He feels emotion start to climb up his throat but he never wavers in staring back at her. The next thing that came to mind wasn't exactly a thought, and the answer leaves his mouth with a certainty he didn't know he had.
"Okay," he quietly replies. Not much of a talker, as usual. Still, his sure answer was quite a surprise to the both of them.
Was it loneliness? That fear that he'd most likely die alone because of his automatic ability to push people away? Maybe it's some deep hidden desire to live a domestic life with someone—something that he allowed himself to fleetingly dream of while he was still in that underground hellhole—that he has since accepted wouldn't be in his future.
Until now.
He and Petra decided to have a shotgun wedding that same afternoon.

Request: OPEN/CLOSED
A.N Y’all are really benefiting from my insomnia rn. I do have a plan to go back to my regular posting schedule but for right now enjoy the things starting to happen. Much love, Cia
Chapter 3: The bugs and the dirt
You’ve been on the team for about 6 months now, and you were loving it. Sure it was long hours, constant danger, and mounds of paperwork but you couldn’t be happier. You felt like you were doing what you were meant to do. The team had fully accepted you in the family around month 2. You and Morgan had become close after your “personal day” in October. He expressed that he knew what it was like to lose a parent and though he’d never understand losing both so quickly he offered you condolences and free drinks with him and Prentiss that night. Since then, the 3 of you have become good friends.
There was always the occasional girls night with Emily, JJ, and Garcia, Dinner at Rossi’s and afternoon picnics with Hotch and Jack(which eventually just turned into you babysitting Jack while Aaron took a deserved nap). Your favorite however, was Saturday’s with Spencer.
The two of you had fallen asleep that Friday night him and Garcia came over to watch Doctor Who. You woke up laid on top of him, legs tangled while your head was resting on his chest tucked under his chin. His arms were wrapped around you, hand resting heavily on the small of your back. You try to get up without waking him but of course you do, he startles awake in turn startling you causing you to fall off the couch.
“Oh, Y/N,I’m so sorry--” He starts, immediately flushing. He stands to immediately help you up.
“No worries, Spen. Not made of glass.” You laugh.
He blushes more at the new nickname. “Spen?” he asks.
“Uh, yea.” You say. “Do you not like it?”
“No-no, I like it.” He says.
“Ok then.” You smile. “Do you have plans today?” He shakes his head. “Well, Saturday’s when I usually get coffee and work on homework at a cafe down the street, do you maybe wanna tag along?” you ask. He nods furiously.
And every Saturday you guys had free since Spencer would meet you in the small cafe near your apartment. He would order an Americano with an ungodly amount of sugar and you would get a cold brew, despite it being winter still and you would sit and talk while you did work. Often he would help you with your thesis, telling you things you should add or consider. Sometimes you would just sit and talk about books you’ve both read or often you would explain the plots to various reality shows you know Spencer would never watch but he would sit and listen intently just like he did with everything you said. He treated every word that came out of your mouth like it was the most important thing in the world, treated every minuscule fact he learned about you, like it was treasured information to solving the mystery in front of him. You had become his personal cryptid.
Of course the rest of the team had caught on to your Saturdays together, you worked with profilers and a very gossipy tech analyst. The amount of times you two had walked in together from being called in for a case last minute was enough to give you away. You thought back to a very uncomfortable conversation you had with Hotch one morning. You had come to drop off files JJ just pawned off to you to take upstairs. You held up your hand in a small wave walking into the office door. You put the files on his desk, starting to walk out when he stops you.
“Y/N, we need to talk for a second. Close the door.” Hotch says. You nodded closing the door. You immediately tried to rattle off everything you’d done wrong to Hotch that could possibly warrant a talk. I forgot his coffee order that one time it was my turn, I missed Jack’s birthday once, I took a nap in the file room. You thought, all weren’t good but none warranted a closed door talk.
“Yes, sir?” you ask, he gives you a weird look before it dissipates into his usual scowl,  neither of you used to the professional formalities still.
“I’m sure you’re aware of the FBI’s fraternization policy.” He says.
“Yes, sir…?” You say, not knowing where he was going with this. You weren’t fraternizing with anyone and no one knew that more than you except maybe your right hand.
“Now there’s things I’d be willing to overlook as long as you don’t let it affect your work. But you would have to tell me and you would have to fill out an office relationship form--”
“Whoa-wait a second.” you say. “What’re we talking about?”
“If there’s something going on between you and Spencer you would have--”
“Hotch! There’s nothing going on between me an--What?” You say, you knew you had to be beet red right now. God this is humiliating. You thought.
“Really?” he said.
“Yes! There’s nothing going on.”
“But you guys have been together every week--”
God, how did he even know that. “He’s helping me with my thesis, Hotch!” you exclaim, if this conversation continued you were going to be the same shade of red as the shirt you were wearing. “Why do you even know about that?”
“Garcia.” he says, matter-of-factly.
Of course, Garcia.
“Well, there’s nothing going on so now you can save the fraternization speech for someone else.” You move to stand.
“You want there to be.” He points out. “Something going on, I mean.”
“Oh my god. Aaron, I have a deep amount of respect for you and I revere you very much as a role model.” you say. “That being said, I will not be discussing my nonexistent love life with my boss! Jesus!” You exclaim. You see the smile ghosting his lips. He always enjoyed embarrassing you. “Can I leave now?” you asked.
He nodded, waving his hand to dismiss you. You walk out of the office back to your desk, conveniently across from Spencer’s.
“What did Hotch need?” He asked you.
“Nothing!” You say instantly. Spencer just shrugged, returning to the file he had been reading.
---------------------------------------
Now you were here in the present, at a bar with the team celebrating the final results you had gotten back on your doctoral thesis. The Diploma hasn't come in the mail yet but it was official, you were officially Dr. Y/N Y/L/N.
“To Dr. Y/N.” Garcia said, raising the shots Prentiss had just handed to you, Morgan and JJ. Rossi and Hotch raised their beers and Spencer clinked his water he’d been nursing to your shot glass. You smiled at her, before taking the shot quickly grimacing at the harshness of the alcohol.
“Thanks, you guys.” You say, smiling widely. Your plan before to celebrate your doctorate had been to draw a bubble bath and try not to think of the student loans you’d accumulated. But of course Garcia being the genius and snoop that she was found out your results and insisted on a night out.
“Y/N.” Emily said, getting your attention. “I think you should get the next round of drinks because that guy at the bar has been staring at you all night.” She said, leaning close to you to point at him. You look up to see a fairly built, tan man, with brown eyes and a well-maintenanced beard. Due to the amount of drinks you had and your inhibitions lowered, you smile at him automatically. He smiles back, lifting his drink to his mouth still looking at you. You look back down.
“I don’t know, Emily.” You say, looking down at your mixed drink.
“Come on, Y/N. We both know it’s been a while and you said you weren’t going to focus on that until you finished your doctorate.” Emily smirks, nudging you. “Now you’re finished so, come on, write him a prescription, Doc.” She laughs, inducing a few giggles from the rest of the group. Except for Rossi and Hotch who weren’t paying attention and Spencer, who seemed bothered but you didn’t know by what.
“Hold on, mama, I have to know what a while means.” Derek says, laughing.
“It means a while~”  Emily says, exaggerating the last word so that it was extra long.
“Yea, a long~ while.” Garcia says, joining in, giggling all the while.
“Ok, didn’t know you guys were moonlighting as comedians.” You say sarcastically, rolling your eyes. You turn towards Derek, the alcohol clearly lowered your inhibitions enough to answer his question. “I mean, I went through the phase everyone went through in the first couple years of college. Partying, drinking, and unfortunately ending up in a frat guys bed, but after a while I realized that I had different goals then most of my peers so I put all my focus on getting my degrees. I’d say that was when I was what? 19?” You said, recalling.
Morgan almost did a spit take, “6 years?”
“Don’t make it sound so incredulous!” You say, drinking your mixed drink. “I was busy!”
“Sounds like you and Pretty boy can start your own celibacy club!” Morgan says, patting Spencer back, laughing.
“I’m not celibate, Morgan.” Reid says, rolling his eyes.
“Pfft,” you blow a raspberry, incredulously. “When’s the last time you’ve gotten any?” Whoa, you had to have been drunk because you never would’ve asked anything like that sober.
“It certainly hasn’t been 6 years.” He says back to you, smirking over his glass of water.
“Whatever.” You roll your eyes. “Seriously, When?”
“Wouldn’t you like to know?”
You would.
You would very much like to know.
“Whatever, it doesn’t matter because I’ll still be the last one after I go get that guy’s number.” You say, downing your drink for liquid courage before standing to go to the bar, towards the guy who had been looking at you before. Sure, your game was a little rusty but you were a profiler and now a doctor of psychology, men were...simple.
Reid watched  you go, your hips swaying way more as they usually do as you sauntered towards the man her and Prentiss had been talking about before. He saw you smiling at the guy who had just purchased you another drink. You trailed a hand down the man’s chest, as he moved closer into your space. Spencer looked away, he was going to be sick if he kept watching that.
“Hey, Emily, do you see that?” Garcia said.
“No, Penelope what is it?” She said indulging her.
“It’s our friend, slowly turning into the green eyed monster.” Garcia said looking back to Reid, the table erupting in laughter.
Reid leaned back. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Sure, you don’t.” Emily says, rolling her eyes. “Look Spence, If you like her you should say something and if you don’t, you can’t get upset about her looking for something else out there.” Spencer didn’t say anything to that, opting to turn his attention back to you. He watched you laugh at something the guy had said and a smile crossed his face. That wasn’t your laugh, he knew your laugh. Your real laugh, and thanks to his eidetic memory he could (and did) replay it whenever he wanted. He knew your laugh and that wasn’t it.
He watched as you sauntered back up to the group. He already had trouble focusing on anything that wasn’t your body most of the time and the dress you wore tonight didn’t make it any better. A simple, deep blue dress that held your curves perfectly with a large slit up the leg that was probably to make it easier to walk in though right now all it was doing was distracting Spencer. You slid into the both back next to Prentiss.
“So…” Emily said, smiling. “How’d it go?”
“Oh, I got his number.” You say, nonchalantly. You knew you would, it’s not like regular men were a challenge to you. Every man wanted 2 things; to think they’re funny and to think they’re smart.
“Nice!” She says, holding her hand out you instantly slap it with your own. “Are you going to call him?”
“Probably not.” You shrug. “We’ll see if I get bored this week.”
That causes all the girls in the group to giggle. The night continued, more drinks being put in your system by your friends who want you to truly celebrate. Eventually Rossi and Hotch leave, both hugging you tightly, Hotch whispering a quick “I’m proud of you” in your ear. You smile brightly back at him.
Towards closing time you all leave, you’re a little more sober than before but you’re definitely still tipsy. You all say your goodbyes, promises to see each other at work then Spencer stretches an arm around your waist, ushering you to his car as he agreed to be your DD before.
He slides you into the seat before climbing in on the drivers side.
“Thanks Spen, I know you hate driving.” You say, patting Spencer on the leg.
“No problem, Y/N” He smiles back at you, before turning his attention back to the road. You notice your hands still on his leg. He hasn’t tried to move it or move away from it so the alcohol in your system decides to take a risk and inch your hand up his thigh. One of his hands leaves the steering wheel immediately grasping your hand.
“Stop.” He says, not sounding entirely convinced that’s what he wants himself. So you ask.
“Do you want me to stop?” You say, innocently.
“Obviously, I don’t want you to stop but you’re not sober so you have to.” He says, moving your hand back to your own lap. You decide it’s probably best to concede and lean your head against the cool glass of the window as street lamps roll by.
Eventually, you make it back to your house. You sigh before turning to Spencer.
“Thanks again, Spen.” You say, moving to grab  your bag and the door handle. “I’ll see you at work.” Before you can move fully, Long fingers are circling your wrist.
“You shouldn’t call him.” He says.
“What?” You say, dazed by the close contact between you two.
“The guy from the bar. You shouldn’t call him.” He says.
“Why not?” You ask. You know the answer, or you think you know the answer but you have to hear him say it. You need to hear him say it.
“Because I-” He cuts himself off. “I don’t know.” he says, looking down very dejected.
“Well…” You say. You lean close to him. You guys are close, so close if you wanted you could kiss him and you know he would let you by the way his eyes flutter, pupils dilating instantly when you do. “Will you tell me when you figure it out?” You ask.
He nods, letting go of the wrist you forgot he was holding.
“Well then.” You say, getting out of the car and leaning through the open window. “Goodnight, Dr. Reid.” You smile.
“Goodnight, Dr. Y/L/N.” He smiles back, before driving into the night.
