mark of cain dean is quite possibly my favorite iteration i’ve seen of him so far because like,,, his instinct to protect, save, and avenge w no regard for himself led him to take on the mark. BUT, the mark does the opposite of that instinct. it turns him into exactly what he’s terrified of being (someone who loves lives to kill).

making sam and cas promise to kill him if he leaves that barn, because he knows he’s not HIM anymore?? because even through the haze of violence and bloodlust he knows he doesn’t want to hurt more people????? trying to cope and becoming worse anyways???? MAKING A DEAL WITH DEATH????? TO KEEP HIMSEF AWAY FROM THE WORLD???? AND STILL NOT BEING ABLE TO GO THROUGH WITH IT WHEN THAT DEAL REQUIRES HIM TO KILL SAM?????????

it’s just so fascinating because dean is doing horrific, bloody shit for this WHOLE arc. yet it still, in some twisted and fucked up way, narratively solidifies his core desire to protect (case in point: the whole charlie thing)

i also love how this comes through even though there are points in this arc where i was like lowkey terrified of dean. i felt it when metatron demanded to be kept away from him. the way he’s shot and the way he acts, he’s barely human.

THIS IS CRAZY REACHING MCLENNON BS LET ME HAVE THIS

Aug. 1, 1965: During rehearsals the “Blackpool Night Out” tv special, John made a “loud and decidedly sarcastic remark” about Yesterday. Beatles publicist says Paul was upset for several hours afterward. I watched the performance from that night and Paul looks fine, like he’s trying to be… Yanno, a Beatle, not like he just got in a fight with John.

Six weeks later, they perform on the Ed Sullivan show. Paul said he was nervous beforehand. But John went on to publicly criticize the lyrics of “Yesterday” saying there’s no resolution. The song was eventually dropped from the tour.

This is the stupid part.

I watched this one and there’s definitely some Beatles moments for him here but it really seems like something is different. He could obviously just be nervous. Right before he went on someone goes, “there’s 73 million people watching” (thanks dude).

I just can’t help but watch this performance snd wonder what Paul was thinking about. But with my luck he was probably just constipated. Or that one dude just ruined the vibe. Or John is that one dude.
