Honestly, I've been seeing a LOT of Katya hate and I can't fucking take it anymore, I HAVE to give my two cents.

Katya is flawed, of course, the whole fucking polycule is, because that is the human experience. To be flawed, and to meet others who share your pain and find solace in them. Katya was obviously meant to be with Sofia, but I believe she TRULY loved Goncharov anyway. In a soul mates that shouldn't have added romance way.

And this is what makes Katya's betrayal SO heartbreaking, and SO infuriating. Because they clearly love each other, and shouldn't that be enough? But Katya had been put through enough, she felt trapped in this prison of her own(and mainly her husband's) making. She was made to put on this farce, day after day, it is the EPITOME of the female performance.

When Katya sells out Goncharov, its out of desperation. She sees it as the only way out. The only way out of the marriage, the only way out of this life, the only way out of the Patriarchal Expectations placed on her in everyday life. And we see this, when Katya ultimately escapes (to be with Sofia? Or perhaps another lesbian lover? I like to think she disappeared to Brazil like she always wanted.) and Goncharov doesn't. She has been set free to live her life, and Goncharov remains separated from Andrey, still crushed under society's(the government's) expectations of the Male Performance.

I know music taste is subjective yadayadayada but like. her music is not awful? actually, it’s the opposite? in any case maaaaaybe her recent releases are more loud than i would personally prefer, but still, her music is so fun? i’m not cool, good girl, flower shower, lip n hip, all music you can literally dance to at any time? and if you wanna go way back, check out a+ and following, her magnum opus imo. 

this album, nabillera, is super original compared to her previous releases, and i think it’s more mature than her last few albums. even the title song, it has a 2000s vibe, and more subtle sound, which i would say it’s an improvement in contrast to i’m not cool. you can Not like her music, but it’s certainly not awful like the preconception yall seem to have about it.

To add onto a previous post, I don't know why people think Katara would be overshadowed by Aang. Like huh??? She never has been??? I like firelady Katara, but more in the "firelady is less fire lady, and more chieftess of southern tribe" but that's weird so disregard that. Zutara shippers are fucking weird, Kataang shippers have a right to be pissed if Zutara shippers are actually like that.

Because I know I could get into a debate about it, and I would do so with joy. Covert me back to Kataang. Teach me why it's better other than it's fucking canon. All the while, I'll give you my thoughts as to why Zutara is better whilst also being like what if... what if Katara was just single pringle, and Aang found someone else. Don't just be like oh Zutara bad because shippers are toxic and don't give proper explanation for why. Some may be like that.

I however will need a little more than complete disregard of that kiss scene in book 3, and the complete one eighty in the finale. Kataang could have been great, but instead it was the definition of mixed messages and not in the Tom Cardy Variant.

no but the thing is. they KISSED. on screen. it was a real scene, not deleted, not removed from a script, it HAPPENED in front of the world's eyes. and AND the actors are normal about it and the whole cast and crew is normal about it and it's not vague and it's IMPORTANT. no matter the rest of it and what came after it, it happened!!
