As a fellow Dust Sans lover, I have to ask, what is your favorite thing about Dusttale? It can be from both canon and fanon. Also, lowkey wondering, what's the most recommended Dusttale AU you're making? Like if you had to suggest one to look at first, what would it be in your opinion?

I like canon dusttale more than fanon!

as in... phantom papyrus being a manifestation of sans's grief and not an actual ghost.

as in us the reader keeping the story going. us the player simply data mining a game or Speedruning genocide. that results in a time loop.

it's not that we're evil. we're just curious. it's not that HE'S evil. he's just putting his foot down and taking away that choice the human had over his fate.

greater good isn't what dust was after despite what most people think. he didn't want a happy ending. he didn't want ANY ending involving a being that could reset.

I think what he did is such a powerful move. he's saying screw you in the most sans way possible. if killing everyone has always been a game to us? he's in a lot of ways... a reminder of canon chara to me.

am executioner preventing from a megalomaniac high and drunk on it's power from avoiding the consequences.

what I love most about this au is that it WILL not allow you to do a pacifist ending anymore. you're LOCKED IN. you made your choice now deal with it.

-as for the first au of mine? I recommend checking out the closure ask box! there may not be many asks but I work hard over quality over quantity! it's the one with seraphim dust!

-my second favorite au is dustgrave but it's comic on pause for now. it's both a deltarune version of dusttale... and a dusttale version of deltarune with heavy themes of bad faith and false gods, cult-ish vibes, and has been on the works for quite a while!

-bad influence is FLUFF land. in a post dusttale world sans is wasting away until he finds something interesting. a little deer caught in headlights that seems to retain memories not from resets but directly from the other worlds the anomaly is interacting with. he takes her in to use her as a tool but then... gets attached.(if you like hurt/comfortable or just plain adorableness with a grim background I highly recommend this one!)

also I'm relatively new here so not many of my aus have that much content put into them and I'm kinda freestyling everything with no specific planning. sometimes Im in the mood for more edge, sometimes I draw sans tucking in Noelle in bed and reading her a bed time story because I'm feeling sweet!

so I apologize for the lack of content or consistency. I'll be happy to answer your questions about any au tho!

more headcanons because i can and it's funny and i lowkey miss face to face classes ಥ‿ಥ also because im trying to pull out more filos that hang around tumblr, LET'S ALL VIBE FAM.

all based on what i experienced in jhs because shs decided to be online. they're stupid, but they're also the little things i miss ಥ‿ಥ i also tried to be more inclusive of everybody or almost everybody-

↠ Rules for Requesting | Masterlist

• rosaria is the girl that takes no bs from any of the guys in your class and has no problem revealing embarrassing secrets to other girls from other sections about the guys *ahem, tohma, kaeya childe, ahem* that have a crush on them.

• kaeya pokes you with the rolled up cartolina he buys from the canteen and when it gets crumpled, rosaria makes him go buy another one but not before hitting him with it too.

• kaeya also as the guy who goes around asking for materials from another group to bring to you so you wouldnt asterisk his name in the final submission.

• kazuha who has a lot of female friends because they gossip to him and he is very invested.

• albedo getting excused from class frequently for science contests. he reaches all the way to nationals too, everyone whines when he gets exempted from the science exam.

• student police head scaramouche. he lets his friends get away with wearing improper uniform under their jackets during checking in the morning.

• class pres. jean and vice pres. lisa, who gets mad at the class for jean.

• klee, diona and qiqi are the teachers' kids that they take with them to the classroom.

klee sits on albedo's lap and he lets her draw over his notes.

diona reads over kaeya's answers to the activity and giggles, pretending they're wrong before proceeding to look at everyone's answer.

qiqi is content with watching movies while sitting at the teacher's desk.

• sucrose, noelle and barbara have literally anything and everything in their bags. complete notes too, you can bet everyone has at least one picture of one page of their notes at the end of every quarter.

• beidou, tohma, kaeya, childe, scaramouche, and rosaria. you'd think they don't have breakfast at home because first subject and they're eating siomai rice from the canteen already.

• tohma sees you at the front of the line in the canteen and he automatically goes to you, totally disregarding the other people in line even if you arent close 😭😂.

• ningguang terror leader. just show up on time for practices, actually cooperate and pull your weight and she'll be good.

• during free subjects, xiao lets you rest your head on the arm of his chair.

• albedo or zhongli staying back after class helping you make the props for the class presentation.

• childe forgets his book / module at home, so he shares with you, leaning over until you prop it between your armchairs.

• xiao letting you rest your head on his shoulder on the jeep on your way home.

• childe/tohma/kaeya forgetting their umbrellas at home and suddenly ducking under yours because you have the same jeepney station and his friends are left fending for themselves in the rain.

• xiao/albedo with bracelets and those rubber arm band things - im not sure what they're called - and are reminders of contests they've won and souvenirs for places they went to for competitions.

• we've never had a prom :(( what's it like :((

• diluc is quiet, but has derpy pictures of everybody that he posts on their birthday as a greeting. xiao too. and albedo. they make it a contest to see who has the most in their gallery by the end of the year.

• additionally, kaeya, childe and tohma (lovingly being labelled as the three idiots) are the ones that volunteer you for competitions because they think you're good at something.

I'm really struggling and hurting with what's going on in the fandom right now as im losing the only comfort i had in quarantine. could you please write something happy post-s5 catradora based on noelle's statement that once Adora realises she's in love with Catra she'd be SO into the reslationship?

((I get you, Nonners <3 *hugs* Again, white af, so I’m going to limit my comments, but - it isn’t all downhill from here. Try not to give up)) (((Disclaimer it’s almost 4am and my sleeping meds are kicking in, so I’m sorry if this isn’t completely coherent)))

Adora had never half-assed anything in her life.

And she’d be damned if she was going to start now, at a time when being fully on her game was more important than ever.

“I just want to do something for her!”

Bow practically had hearts in his eyes. Glimmer was a little less impressed. “I’m pretty sure if you just stayed in bed and napped together all day, she’d be happy.”

“I know, I know.” Adora sighed. “But that’s not - I want to do something good. Like, really show her that I love her.”

“Take a vacation.”

“Glimmer!”

“What? I’m serious,” Glimmer insisted. “If you just like... took an entire week off to do nothing but spend time with her, she’d probably be speechless. Which I would pay to see, by the way.”

Adora frowned, thinking it over. It was true that Catra would probably be floored by Adora taking a week off, no need for She-Ra or anything, just for her.

“I don’t know. Do you think it’s enough? What should we do? What do people do on vacation?”

“You could just travel?” Bow suggested. “You know, get as far from Bright Moon as you can then call Glimmer for a ride back or something when you’re done.”

It was... actually a good idea, Adora thought. They’d spent their whole lives in the Fright Zone wondering what was beyond the Whispering Woods. They could actually see things now. They could see a world full of magic!

The happy thoughts died almost as quickly as they had started. “I... I dunno. I mean, it sounds great, but that would take more than a week, and-”

“Take a month,” Glimmer encouraged. “Take six months, honestly. You guys saved the universe. If anyone’s earned time off, it’s you.”

“That’s a lot of time.”

“And you’ve earned it,” Bow assured her. “Maybe not six months - I mean, you should take six months but I know that would drive you nuts. But take a month. Go places. Spend time together. I think it’d be good for you guys.”

Adora chewed on her thumbnail for a moment before slowly nodding and smiling. “Yeah. Okay.”

This whole thing had started with Catra not feeling like a priority in Adora’s life, after all. A month together would be the perfect way to show Adora she was invested and she cared. Perfect. * * * * * * * * * * * * Catra didn’t get back to Bright Moon that night. “Your cat passed out on my couch,” Mermista informed Adora flatly, turning the screen so Adora could see Catra curled up in a tight ball, sleeping.

“Is she... okay?”

“She’s dumb. Sea Hawk found her almost sick with heat stroke and had to drag her away from the house she was working on.”

Adora’s heart jumped to her throat. “She’s... She’s really trying hard to help with Salineas.”

“And I appreciate it,” Mermista admitted in a rare moment of genuine honesty. “But I’ll appreciate it less if she kills herself in the process. If she’s going to die, I should at least get the first shot.”

“Glimmer can come get her, if you want.”

“Nah, she already feels like hell. She can sleep it off on the couch.”

Adora scrubbed her eyes, smiling weakly. “Thanks, Mermista. Sorry, I guess I should’ve warned you, she gets really intense when she actually puts effort into things.”

“She’s not someone I would’ve pegged for a workaholic. Want me to wake her up to say... I dunno, good night or whatever you guys say to each other?”

“Nah, let her sleep.” Adora wanted Catra home, wanted to talk to her about a vacation, but she was sleeping, and that was more important than anything. She’d been exhausting herself for nearly a month working on Salineas. And while it was earning her some begrudging tolerant will with Mermista (who firmly believed actions were better than any apology Catra could ever say), Adora was worried. A vacation would really do her some good. * * * * * * * * * * * * Glimmer and Adora went to Salineas the next morning to get Catra. They thought it was reasonable to assume she was still sleeping off the heat stroke at the palace.

“Nope, she took off before I woke up,” Mermista said flatly when they found her. “Sea Hawk tried to find her, but he’s not exactly subtle about it, so she probably had plenty of time to hide.”

“Great.” Adora sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. “I’ll... track her down.”

“Tell her if she’s going to keel over to get out of my kingdom. She can die on Bright Moon’s turf.”

“Tell her not to die,” Glimmer added.

“Yes, and yes.”

Mermista pointed Adora in the direction of where they’d found Catra yesterday. She approached a half built house, quietly climbing up the ladder at the side and finding Catra working on the roofing.

“Seriously?” she asked, resting her arms on the edge of the roof. Catra looked up, surprised.

“What?”

She looked exhausted, her face flushed red. Adora sighed. “Are you coming home any time soon?”

“Yeah, yeah.” She went back to work, distracted. “Sorry, I dunno what happened yesterday.”

“You made yourself sick working in the sun all day.”

“Sea Hawk overreacted.” Catra waved Adora off. “He’s just scared you’d kill him if you found he let me overwork myself.”

“Sooooo you’re admitting it?”

“No, that’s just his logic.”

Adora shook her head. “Come on, take the day off and come home. I wanna talk to you about something.”

“I really need to finish this.”

There was a weird moment where Adora thought she understood how Catra had felt for years. Catra had been working nonstop on Salineas for a month, and Adora was starting to feel a little ignored.

But she also understood Catra’s side. She took a deep breath, hauling herself up onto the roof and crawling over to Catra, gently putting her hand on Catra’s and stopping the hammer. “Hey. I get it, okay? But you’re not responsible for fixing all of Salineas.”

“Actually, I kind of am,” Catra replied bitterly. She was far too warm for it to be comfortable.

“I’m pretty sure Hordak could stand to take a little more responsibility than he has.” Adora couldn’t help but be a bit bitter about that. He had mostly stayed in Dryl, working with Entrapta on tech that would help with the rebuilding process. And that was great and all, but it wasn’t much compared to Catra being out here every day working herself half to death.

Catra let out a long sigh, finally relaxing her hand. “I just... need to do this, Adora. Okay?”

“I get that, but you don’t need to do it at the expense of your own health. And yes, I know I’m a hypocrite. But I’m worried about you.”

“I’m fine.”

“No, you’re not.” Adora squeezed her hand. “And that’s okay. Have you eaten anything?”

“No.” The honesty was nice.

“Did you skip eating because you felt sick?” Catra nodded. “Okay. So... you can leave with me, or Mermista can wash you out to sea so you don’t die in her kingdom.”

Catra looked around, and sighed, finally nodding. “Okay. Let’s go.”

Getting her back to solid ground was a bit dicey, but she held herself up and managed to walk back to the palace without much help.

“She lives,” Mermista said dryly when they arrived back at the palace. Glimmer smiled, although she couldn’t hide her worry.

“You okay?”

“Yeah, I’m fine, I’m fine.” Catra smothered a yawn, scrubbing her eyes.

“Picture of health all right,” Mermista deadpanned. “Look, you built like, an entire neighborhood on your own. Come back when you’re not burning up.”

Glimmer rested a hand on Catra’s shoulder, wincing when she felt the heat radiating off of her. Adora took a moment to whisper, “Thank you for taking care of her,” to Mermista. The princess shrugged.

“Yeah, you know. Whatever.”

Catra was not happy with the teleport back to Bright Moon. Glimmer put them close enough to the bed so she could drop straight onto it, groaning. Good luck, the queen mouthed before disappearing. Adora went to the bathroom, wet a washcloth with cold water, and returned to the bed, resting the cloth on the back of Catra’s neck. She shivered.

“Cold.”

“Yes, because you’re burning hot.” Adora settled in next to her. “So, I had an idea, and I already know you’re going to argue with it, but hear me out.” Catra hummed in affirmation. “I was thinking we should take some time off. You and me. I was thinking traveling, but now I’m thinking maybe go visit Frosta and spend a week in the snow.”

“Oh hell no,” Catra muttered. “I am not going anywhere with snow. That’s where I draw the line.”

“But you’re agreeing to the vacation?”

“I dunno.” Catra raised her head. “When? Can it wait until Salineas is-”

“No.” Adora gently clasped Catra’s face in her hands. “I know this is hard for you, but you can’t hurt yourself trying to fix things. That won’t accomplish anything, and nobody wants to see you hurting, not even Mermista.”

Catra looked ready to argue, but something in her expression flickered. “You’re willing to take time off just to do nothing?”

“Not nothing. To spend time with you. We can hold each other accountable. You keep me strapped down, and I’ll lie on top of you to make sure you don’t run off to Salineas.”

Tears slowly filled Catra’s eyes, and Adora panicked for a moment before Catra spoke. “You’d... really take time off to spend time with me?”

“Of course.” Adora kissed her gently. “I love you, Catra. And I know we’ve been through a lot and done a lot that doesn’t really... support that, and I want to prove it now. And I want to take care of you.”

The moment of silence between them was comfortable. The same silence they could have spent hours in at one point in their lives. “I love you too,” Catra finally murmured. “Maybe taking some off to spend together wouldn’t be so bad. If only to see you try and relax.”

“Ha. Ha.” Adora grabbed the washcloth and began gently wiping Catra’s face. “Glimmer gave us a month, but I’m pretty sure she’ll be happy if we want to take more. Let’s start with getting you better, then we can figure out what we want to do from there. Okay?”

“Yeah.” Catra snuggled into Adora’s chest, taking a deep breath. “That sounds good.”

It had worked. Adora couldn’t believe it. “So uh... I’m doing this relationship thing pretty good, huh?”

Catra snorted, reaching up to push her face away. “Get over yourself.”

Am I betraying the Cream and Fluffynightkiller ships? Yes. Do I regret it? Absolutely not, my multishipper's heart won't let me regret it. Presenting to you:

Studio AU Crossmare!

Idk why I wrote that in fancy text also hi I'm bored and have several other AU ideas SEND HELP PLEASE

I do have some ideas on how this would work, so I'll just throw them here while I suffer under blooming AU ideas.

This would probably have to be a timeline without Cream or Nightkiller/Fluffynightkiller, but everyone can still vibe together.

Cross and Nightmare wouldn't stand being around each other for too long but in secret really want to spend all the time in the world with each other. It gets to the point where it's very obvious to basically everyone but them, and a few other people (probably Dream and Killer, maybe Ink as well) decide to try and bring them together somehow, despite constant glaring and just the inability to not annoy the hell out of each other.

They end up sorta understanding each other and their personalities and slowly connect until they can be left alone together for an extended period of time without attempting to kill each other.

Idk who'd confess first or what would happen and all that, I'm just spitting words out here and hoping sense can be made of them.

I shall now desperately wipe words off my whiteboard to make space for a whole idea that's forming that I know won't leave me unless I do something about it and maybe draft some designs and concepts and all that.

Thought: Deltarune AU where the school has to put up with a very anti-LGBT teacher who holds semi-weekly "talks" about how they should all be anti-LGBT as well. Kris decides to p*ss off that teacher as much as they can while obtaining a relationship at the same time. Susie, Noelle and Berdly all randomly join them in detention and they all bond over being part of the community and just vibing.

It switches between angst, problems and dealing with toxicity to just fluff and vibing together.

2. What art-related sites have you ever signed up for? aksjhsh like all of them at one point or another. deviantart was maybe the first? though i have a kind of abandoned art blog on tumblr thats probably slightly older. i hate pinterest with a passion and don't count it. i have a twitter but im on hiatus cause it stresses me out cause i only follow people in the animation industry and i do not have time or energy to apply to all the jobs or opportunities. outta sight outta mind ;A; artstation is most recent but its insufferable so i havent updated it.

I've been a fan of Loish for??? At least 8 years or so. But I got to meet her at the BFX festival through my school when she taught a masterclass (she's very nice!!!) I learned a LOT from studying her work, particularly her use of color and shapes in her drawings. I still use a lot of the tips she gave from that masterclass. Also hhhfhf girl prettyy.

Izzy Burton is a director and illustrator i met this past year at the Vertex Festival in London (one of our units was about portfolio development and included reaching out to industry pros and BOI did i reach out). I love her sweet and lovely concepts, use of texture in her work, and cute characters as well as just really lovely color design. she was really fun to talk to, and i really admire the path she has taken in her career, it's inspiring!!

Kayvon is a Story Artist in the UK who I met online! He's an alumnus from my uni and he helped me a lot this past year with advice on my portfolio and other things. I want to be a story artist, so this is more niche than the last two, but there's a lot about his work I really love, especially some of his personal work. Some of the best advice he gave me as an aspiring story artist was to make sure "every piece i draw has a story". Are you doing an environment study? throw a character and some mood and unique things to give it a story! It was wonderful advice that I try to think about every time i do a portfolio piece.

Other artists off the top of my head: Yon Hui Lee, Dice Tsutsumi, Celine Kim, Hayao Miyazaki (of course), Heikala, Noelle Stevenson, Dana Terrace (LOTS of industry folk, i could to forever just listing story artists...)

24. Do you have a shameful art past? (recolour sprite comics, tracing art, etc.)

Hmm. Honestly I don't think so? I've only ever traced art to learn shape and form and study, but it's never stuff I have posted.

I've always been like, very aware of copyright stuff like that. My mom's a graphic designer and I learned a lot from her growing up.

omg hi. sorry i disappeared for a few days, been super busy with school. i missed you a lot. how have you been?

i haven’t had the need to eat any food since i got barbara and noelle on my team. if one of them can’t shield, the other comes in a clutch haha. *bows* thank you ladies for your service.

i’d pay hard earned money to see fanart with the boy scouts playing with guoba.. :( and YEAH. that would be so fitting? + it’s gonna be liyue themed which is super nice. do you know any predictions over which four stars will be in xiao’s banner? and who do /you/hope will be there?

last time i played three days ago unlocked dragonspine.. i even did albedo’s quest i can’t believe i defeat that evil place sjshdksk. meaning i got so some primogems and some intertwined fate. i’ve been itching to use some of the intertwined fates to get xiangling c rate up... should i?

october 20 is such a cute bday. you know how some dates just look nice? that’s one of them shskdhs. i want to say my birthday too but i feel like if anyone reads our messages they’ll know who i am... sorry. you’ll have to wait for that information until we privately talk some day. big promise. 🤍

@kineticallyanywhere Here are the RvB taz au designs!!! This was seriously so fun. I can talk about all of this for days tbh. You can find the original post here. Im gonna put my notes under a read more because it got..... long.

Grif/Taako: Grif totally looks like he fell in the witch section at a Halloween store and it’s amazing. It was so weird drawing him in Taako clothes because usually he gets stuck with T-shirts and shorts so this was a nice change. tbh Taako and Grif have a lot of the same tragic backstory and sibling tropes. Also the fake stupid thing they both try to pull. and the “taako is good out here” kind of thing.... Tbh There is a lot they have in common. Grif is just significantly less secure and more jaded as a person rip XD

Kai/Lup: ok so she looks like a sexy pirate and I think she would dig it. I really need to draw her doing cool pyrotechnic fire stuff because it fits her so well.

Caboose/Magnus: I don't really have much to say about him other than he is the best boy and I love him. Plus I think he would love Steven to death.

Donut/Merle: At first I couldn't see him making that good of a Merle but when I thought about it more he would be a great Merle. He would be the type to try to fuck a plant monster and befriend the physical embodiment of death and destruction because he's Donut. Also, he would 100% forget that he can heal people all the time.

Tucker/Barry: His design was hard because it’s so simple but I feel like his robe would just be a slightly more classy hoodie lmao. As for character, I’m glad Tucker gets to be a nerd for once. He's so smart. Also I'm a total sucker for Sucker. So I like bim as Barry for that reason and I’m also down for what you said about Wash being Kravitz and Kai, Tucker, and Wash being reapers!

Sarge/Davenport: Sarge makes and amazing gnome tbh. He’s so cute but he definitely has small dog syndrome. Also, Sarge would be overjoyed that technically everyone is a red in this universe XD.

Simmons/Lucretia: I spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to make Simmons look as graceful and pretty as possible. When drawing this had an idea that like.... instead of aging in wonderland he lost his eye and arm so that he could get his cool cybernetic limbs. Simmons in this au is so sad. I can't stop thinking about the scene with Taako and Lucretia where Taako threatens Lucretia after they get the memories back but with Grif and Simmons and it’s so sad in the best possible way. And then there is Simmons and Sarge and that whole mess where Sarge’s entire brain is wiped. Simmons would feel so bad about that but I think Grif might never let Sarge live it down.

Carolina/Killian: I don't think you included her in the original post but she would 100% be Killian. idk who Carey would be tho.

I didn't include some characters you have and haven't talked about because I wanted to keep this manageable but I need to eventually draw Wash..... whenever I stop avoiding drawing him like the plague (he's easily the hardest for me to draw for some reason). And I think Matthews might make a good Angus lmao. And Huggins as Noelle. They are practically the same character tbh. I'm gonna stop before this gets ridiculous but I LOVE this au.
