The way the line "Orpheus had a gift to give; he could make you see the world for how it could be in spite of the way that it is" takes on a meta meaning when it's repeated near the end of Hadestown because watching fictional tragedies forces us to imagine and wish for a happier ending for the characters and when we bring that energy and hope with us when we step out of the theater back into the real world, that's the gift the performers gave to us 🥹🌹

Is it alright if you write something for Skittles with a genderfluid s/o?
- 💾 (i havent requested anything before so please let me know if i did anything wrong)
Hey there! Don't worry, you didn't do anything wrong while requesting, but then again, it's impossible to do so incorrectly as long as you're being polite and follow the rules!
Skittles with a Genderfluid!S/O
Skittles would think you to be the coolest person he knows. Not only do you have a great personality, you’re also unique in that you don’t let a single gender define you. It’s fluid, sometimes you’re this, sometimes you’re that, and what could possibly be more epic than that. Sometimes you’re everything, sometimes you’re nothing. He loves it as much as he loves you. You’re a breath of fresh air in an otherwise rigid and unpredictable world. Although it would be hard, he’d love nothing more than to get you flowers or plants that correspond with your current gender. Surely you associate them with a certain colour, so he’d love to gift them to you. Then again, he’d love to give you anything, doesn’t have to be a flower. It could be a self made pin, it could be a scarf, it could be a hairpin. Doesn’t have a hard time remembering your pronouns for the day either. And if you change your name depending on your gender? So freaking awesome. He will always use the right pronouns and name for you, as long as you tell him or show it otherwise. Although he may be a loving and bubbly sweetheart, he is a rather observant guy. A rather smart cookie as well, so as long as there are signs you feel like this or that on that day, he’ll pick up on them. He adores you and wants to make sure he accommodates you however he can. If you feel insecure about wearing certain clothes then he’ll just wear them with you, he has no qualms about wearing a pretty dress, for example. Besides, if you want your hair styled in a certain way, he’ll try his best. He may not always succeed since he doesn’t have a lot of experience, but it’s the thought that counts. Will always pick up things he thinks you might like or that you might vibe with during a certain gender day. If you bind, then he will bring you glasses of water and remind you to not keep your binder on for too long. Yes, he knows someone who could stitch you up easily and with no problem, but he doesn’t want you to be in pain or have physical problems. Either way, he’s very supportive and tries his best to make you feel comfortable, even telling other people how you would prefer to be addressed, if you feel comfortable with that. He’s good with people, so chances are they’ll refer to you correctly when Skittles tells them about it.

I don’t think anyone in the fandom will forget Jellie. We will continue to keep her alive with our works in the fandom and tell the newcomers all about her. Same with all those who pass we keep them alive in our hearts.

There's this stereotype that female/female (platonic) intimacy isn't seen as queer, but I think that can also apply to male/male (platonic) intimacy.
Both female/female and male/male intimacy is considered non-queer or less queer if it doesn't cross a boundary. For female/female intimacy, the boundary seems to be that once the intimacy becomes too emotional, it is seen as queer. For male/male intimacy, it's sometimes the opposite, so that if the intimacy is too physical, it's seen as queer. Additionally for male/male intimacy, it isn't enough that it isn't too physical, but also that there must be an air of irony in the performance of intimacy.
I think this can offer an interesting insight as to how queer relationships are seen - that female/female (or perceived female/female) relationships are emotional, and that male/male (or perceived male/male) relationships are considered physical.

*barbie movie spoilers*
the reason allan in the barbie movie is unaffected by brainwashing is because he has never had to live up to any reputation except his own. he doesn't have the pressure of being Barbie or being Ken. he's just allan. he is immune to the system bc he defies it. even skipper and midge have copies and reputations: allan is the only allan, and he has never had to be anything else. thus, he is the only vaguely well-adjusted person in barbieland, because he is the only individual identity.
this a (possibly unintentional) metaphor for how the only way to combat the confines of the gender binary and gendered expectations is to define what your gender identity means for you. maybe you're a girl, but what does girl mean for you. both in a practical, everyday sense (what clothes make you feel good, how do you want your body to look, what pronouns you use) and in an existential way (what communities do you identify with, how do you feel when people treat you like a boy/girl, what words feel accurate and/or good, what labels you want to claim, if any).
A cis straight man still has a gender journey to go on to figure out what "man" means for them personally (like ken definitely has a gender journey, tbh moreso than barbie, jesus christ ryan gosling killed it).
ALSO
trying to get allan lore i keep seeing articles that are like 'oh ya allan debuted in 1964 and was then pulled shortly after, but he re-appears in the 90s as Midge's husband'
you fools. that's alan. not allan. some sources say spelling is "inconsistent", some just say the spelling was changed, but i disagree. maybe its not important to you but its important to me that they are two separate entities and individuals.
also if alan exists in barbie land he probably lives in weird house bc as midge's husband he was recalled after the whole 'pregnant barbie' scare and never reappeared. rip.
plus catch GQ writing an article basically saying "don't worry mr allan i saw your chanel boots"

imagine if the credits for majora’s mask were tied to the actions you did in your last cycle
like instead of that everybody is happy celebrating the festival, if they were a specific set of cutscenes that each play depending on whether you did it before fighting majora or not
so like, if you didn’t defeat each temple boss you would see cutscenes from that region still in trouble like the deku with the monkey over the fire or the gorons all frozen, but if you did kill all the bosses in the last cycle you can see the regions happy like in the actual credits
and the same for important quests as well, grog could either be with his chicks or with grown cuccoos, pamela might be with her dad or she’d be on her own, you can only see anju and kafei’s wedding if you complete their quests then fight majora, if you don’t help romani defend the ranch she isn’t playing with her sister in the credits she’s just sat there
idk i just think it would be really neat if you finished the game and were suddenly hit by the realisation that that’s it, the cycles are over and your choices in that final go-through are how the characters will live the rest of their lives
and it would make you want to go back and play through again if you saw your favourite characters not having the happy ending they deserved
