blue lions

dimitri will call you any term of endearment in the book, anything to express how much he cherishes you. he calls you love, dear, angel, and beloved, but his terms of endearment don’t end there. he only gets flustered calling you pet names if you bring it up to him, growing almost insecure as he hurriedly asks if that’s okay (and you assure him of course it’s okay, you love him!!).

felix doesn’t have any pet names for you- he thinks they’re silly and embarrassing, and he’d rather be caught dead than be happened upon calling you “darling”. if you request them from him he’ll outright object and promptly leave before you can ask again, but you notice the next day he’s muttering a quick and almost bashful “dear” after his usual morning greetings.

you would have expected sylvain to be full of sweet pet names, and he is, but they’re the type that makes you roll your eyes and push him away rather than swoon. he calls you cutie, babe, beautiful/handsome, and baby. when you plead for him to be less annoying with his nicknames he grins and asks if you’d prefer he calls you other names, which are much more suited for the bedroom. you decide to leave it.

annette and mercedes are sweet and peppy in their nicknames for you, calling you by them often and genuinely. annette will call you sugary names like sweetheart and pumpkin, while mercedes tends to call you darling and dearest with a warm smile.

the sole pet name dedue ever calls you is “my love”, as he leans toward praises instead. instead of calling you a pet name he expresses your value to him, calling you the light of his life restating how much he adores you. he’s simple, but sweet nonetheless.

ingrid is in a similar boat- she doesn’t use pet names often, if at all, and the select few she uses are only in private. she does have a fondness for calling you her partner, though. it fills her with a certain giddiness to refer to you in conversation as such; she finds comfort in the intimacy.

ashe can go either way with pet names; he loves them, but won’t use them excessively if it embarrasses you. he’ll call you his dear or darling, and he’ll occasionally call you prince/ss. you’ll find that compliments come more naturally to him than nicknames.

to yuri, you’re his songbird, his dove, and when he’s feeling particularly sentimental, his love. yuri doesn’t use pet names often; he typically uses them teasingly with a smirk, but every now and then he’ll slip and murmur genuine terms of adoration from the crevice of your neck.

balthus is showy, choosing to express his love for you through titles like babe, doll, and gorgeous. he’ll sprinkle in words like sweetie or toots when he’s trying to butter you up, but you’ve played the game long enough to know he’s trying to gamble more kisses out of you.

hapi doesn’t really like pet names- she finds them extra and cliche. she uses them very rarely and almost always unintentionally, and you can tell she caught herself immediately after by the slight tint in her cheeks. the few names she does call you are babe, sweetheart, or cutie.

being with constance has allowed you to distinguish the threshold between endearing and outright embarrassing. darling, dearest, sweetheart, honey, prince/ess- all are used interchangeably and frequently, and she doesn’t seem to care who hears it. you decided to draw a line and ask her to restrain herself when yuri began impersonating her to tease you both.
