----------
The first case was reported five days ago. A woman had woken up after a night out only to find a weird mark on her ribcage. When questioned by friends and family members if she had just gotten a new tattoo, she was in denial. She recollected that she had bumped into a guy, had a conversation, went back to her place and had a night of passion with the mysterious man only to wake up the next morning with a tattoo on her ribcage. Surprisingly enough, the man whom she had spent the night with had the exact same tattoo on his ribcage.
It made global news instantly. First case of soulmarks documented in centuries. The mass majority of people had considered it bogus, until more and more cases were being documented. And thus it began. A revival in soulmarks.
When it finally got to him, Gordo didn’t really know what to think of it. He had woken up one morning, a slight tingling on his ribcage, and instantly jumped out of bed, running to the mirror and pulling up his shirt only to see a mark in the shape of a continent on his skin. He was terrified.
If he is being honest with himself, he still is terrified. What if Tracy doesn’t have the same mark as him? What would that mean for his family? For his kids? It’s not like he can go and ask. Not with her still being pissed enough at him for him to have to sleep at the apartment.
Trying to get the thoughts out of his head, he walks out of the apartment and towards the elevator, rocking on his feet and waiting for the elevator. As the elevator doors open, he steps inside quickly, moving to press the ground floor button but is interrupted by his neighbor, you, rushing into the elevator, a basket of laundry in your arms.
“Thanks for holding it,” you comment, setting the basket down before reaching up and tying up your hair, but something catches Gordo’s eyes. Something that has his blood rushing cold. Underneath the band of your bra, he can make out part of a tattoo that looks very similar to his own.
“Do you need a shirt?” His question causes you to look up at him in confusion before looking down and yelping upon realizing that you indeed, do not have a shirt on. You try to cover yourself as much as possible but Gordo just laughs. “Seems like you’re in a rush.”
“Tell me about it. I need to get this laundry done so I can actually have clean clothes to wear or else it won’t get done at all.” He nods in response as a silence falls over them, the elevator going painfully slow. Looking back down at you, he tries to make out the rest of the tattoo. When you realize that he’s staring at you, you look back at him in confusion. “Can I help you?”
“What’s that tattoo of?” You look down at your tattoo and raise up the side of your bra, oblivious to the way Gordo’s eyes widen as his mouth drops open in shock.
“Uh. I don’t really know? Looks kinda like a continent but I can’t really make it out. I woke up with it like two days ago.” You admit as the elevator comes to a stop as another person gets in, eyeing you up and down. Gordo closes his mouth and moves to stand in front of you to at least protect your decency somewhat and you can’t help but to become flustered at the motion.
“Here.” Gordo takes off his jacket and hands it to you as the elevator reaches the bottom floor. “You can just return it later.” He smiles softly before exiting the elevator, leaving you alone.
It doesn’t take long for him to reach his car. He was supposed to go to JSC for a meeting, but he needs to see Tracy. Especially if you, his neighbor, has the exact same tattoo as him.
It doesn’t take him long to reach his house. Shutting off the engine, he runs through the door and into the hallway, his heart pounding against his chest in anxiety. “Trace?”
Tracy walks out of the bedroom, a look of annoyance on her face as her husband’s loudness. “Yes Gordo?”
“Did you get a tattoo on your ribcage?” Tracy rolls her eyes, crossing her arms and putting her weight on one of her legs as she stares at Gordo dubiously.
“Do you really believe in that make believe? Soulmarks haven’t existed for centuries. Everyone knows that,” she replies as Gordo shakes his head, lifting up his shirt to reveal his own tattoo, much to Tracy’s shock.
“Do you have a tattoo?” He lets go of his shirt and takes a step closer to her, a twinge of doubt making its way through his heart.
“No. I don’t.” The silence is deafening and the tension in the air is thick as Gordo and Tracy stare at each other, not really sure what to say next. “When did you find the tattoo?”
“About two days ago. I woke up to a tingling feeling and when I looked in the mirror it was there. Are you sure that you don’t have one?” Tracy holds up her hand before walking back into their bedroom and lifting up her own shirt in the mirror, trying to find any sort of marking but to no luck.
Looking over to Gordo, she can’t deny the hurt that is brewing inside of her. Sure she and Gordo have had their issues, but all lovers do. Right? “What does this mean?”
Gordo pulls her into his chest, holding her close as his mind tries to think of solutions. “I don’t know.” Despite the current situation, Gordo can’t help but to think of you. Why do you out of all people have the matching tattoo and his wife doesn’t? He doesn’t even know you. Sure you’re gorgeous, and funny, and caring, and kind, but that doesn’t mean that you’re his soulmate. “Maybe we should talk it out with a counselor? I mean our marriage hasn’t been the best, and part of that is my fault, but what if this is why? What if we were never meant for each other?”
Tracy pulls away, anger written on her face. “You can’t be serious? We have children, Gordo. Think of Danny and Jimmy.”
Gordo hangs his head in defeat. He knew that the kids would be the trickiest part of this whole ordeal, but it wouldn’t be fair to him or Tracy if they stayed together. “I’m serious, Trace. What if this is why we don’t match?”
“You know what?” She pulls out a cigarette, lighting it between her lips and taking a puff. “This is fucking bullshit. How do I know that you didn’t just get a tattoo and are saying all of this horseshit just for a cop out?”
“Do you really think I would go as far as getting a tattoo to just leave you? To leave MY family? If you think that that’s the case then maybe I’m glad this tattoo appeared. Just goes to show me that I was right from our second date.” Only until he realizes what he said does he cringe as Tracy fumes.
“Our second date? Then why the fuck did you pursue me? Why would you waste my time and your time?”
“Because I thought I couldn’t get any better.”
“Get out.” Gordo raises his hands in defeat, stepping to the side and narrowly dodging a picture frame being thrown at him. “Get out!” The bedroom door slams shut on Gordo causing him to turn around and kick at the door in frustration, unaware of four pairs of eyes on him. Turning back around, he jumps in surprise when he sees his kids, Shane and Karen staring at him.
“Shit.” He moves towards his kids with open arms, but Karen pushes them and Shane behind her like a mother hen. Realizing that she’s not going to let them go anytime soon, he stands back up to his height, a look of sorrow on his face. “I’m sorry you had to hear that. Can you please watch Danny and Jimmy until she cools down?” Karen doesn’t make a comment but watches as Gordo grabs his keys from his pocket and heads out of the door to who knows where.
—---------
A sharp series of knocks echo through your apartment, disrupting your concentration on your work as you look at the door in confusion. You don’t remember if you had anyone coming over, at least today. Opening the door, you smile at seeing your neighbor on the other side.
“Gordo, what can I do for you?” Your cheerful mood disappears as he pushes past you and into your apartment. “Excuse me. What do you think you’re doing?” He doesn’t respond before he’s pulling up his shirt, showing you the tattoo on his rib cage, causing you to gasp in shock.
“Is this the same as your tattoo?” You drag him over to where you have a mirror and stand next to him, pulling up your own shirt to reveal the matching tattoo. “Well shit.”
You pull your shirt back down and turn to face him, a sense of awkwardness in the air. “What does this mean?”
“I don’t know. I have a wife and kids. I can’t just leave them. At the same time, I don’t want either of us to be without our soulmates and if it’s each other then we’ll figure this out. Ok?” You’re not stupid, you know his reputation, but he’s right. Why should you deny yourself the opportunity to have your soulmate? But do you really want to become a mother figure now?
“There’s so much to think about,” you comment softly, sinking down on your sofa as he sits next to you, head resting on his hands.
“We’ll get through this together.” He glances down at his watch and cringes. “I got to get to work, but can we talk about this tonight? Maybe over dinner?” You nod, still in shock as he gives you a soft smile before walking out the door, leaving you alone in your thoughts.

feelz.
I'm so incredibly sad that he's not here anymore. I listen to his voice, look at his pictures- knowing that I won't ever get to see him or tell him how much he has helped me. I will forever just sit here with something missing. I hope ghosts are real so that he's not really gone forever.

LOTTIE PLATCHETT TOOK A HATCHET
So it turns out that there's only one thing that can drag me away from Starkid and that is, uh, *checks notes*... Starkid.
So, yeah, a lot of Starkid stuff went down today (AND I AM SO EXCITED!!!!), but it was also the day of Lauren's one-night-only reprisal of her role as the titular heroine in Lottie Platchett. So I did miss the livestream (I will be watching it ASAP though!). But, you know, the show is called Lottie Platchett Took A HATCHET, and featured Dirty Girl Jokes(TM) and Lauren playing a super horny virgin, so I feel like it was pretty on-theme for Hatchetfield weekend nonetheless.
Lauren was terrific as always, navigating Lottie's maze of psychological hang-ups and complexes with ease. And for my fellow Shipwreckers, Ryan W. Garcia (this IS a Ryan Garcia stan account, people!), Tom DeTrinis, and Tom Lenk were all also in the cast and so fucking funny!
DeTrinis and I got into a staring contest and stared way too intensely at each other for way too long. That's the sort of show it was.
It also had some pretty interesting things to say about sexuality, hypocrisy, femininity, and, uh, the care and keeping of doves? And it featured Ryan as an old man, Tom D. as the female Irish maid and a lawyer named Ballsack, and, in one glorious scene, Tom L. as a psychotically murderous womb. No, that is not a typo. Yes, the male characters in the play have vivid imaginations.
So, yeah, Lottie Platchett was a blast! Lauren might have bowed out tonight (Ryan was very cute, making sure she got a special round of applause and hyping her up), but Ryan and the Toms are still there and a lot of the comedy feels similar to stuff you'd get in a Starkid show, so if you're in LA and you can, go see it! It's a silly good time!
(I should probably mention that there's a lot of discussion of incest though. Like, A LOT. It never actually happens, but the threat of it lingers over the show and every single one of the Platchetts.)

Teen Wolf 5bx09/5x19 "The Beast of Beacon Hills"
How stupid are we to be doing this? We're not stupid, we're desperate. ... How desperate?
You can request gifsets! Drop an ask to make a request, and I'll do my best to fulfill it or refer to someone more capable. I'll accept any request except those for Derek, Stiles, and Peter, since they already have so much content in this fandom.

the overplayed song bracket just demonstrates that like 80% of this site has no music taste of its own and just decides which songs are "good" based on which ones are memed on here

Leaving aside the emotional wreck Tracy gave me with her post… good damn it! They are so good looking. Like for real. How a picture can look that hot and beautiful?
Even haters have to admit that Hailey and Jay are (never were) a ten in physics. The Hotsteads

Missed call
Tumblr media
Y/N was just days away from going into labor. She waddled everywhere, constantly in pain, and had a bad case of pregnancy brain. She put soap in the fridge and butter in the shower, and Eddie had a good laugh about it. She spaced constantly on the laundry, piling up. She tried to get out of the fog, but she couldn't.
Eddie was patient and understanding of it. He found it adorable how she'd walk into the room and pout because she couldn't remember why. He tried his best to help her remember things, and help around the house.
Eddie was gone at a meeting as Y/N cleaned the kitchen. Her attention was cut short when the house phone rang, she moved as fast as she could.
"Hello, this is the Munson's, how can I help you?" Eddie's PR manager talked on the other line. Y/N wrote down the important message that had to be delivered to Eddie immediately. Y/N hung up the phone and tucked the piece of paper in her pocket. Eddie didn't get personal calls until lunch, so she had a few hours before she could call.
~~~
Eddie slammed the front door as he marched through the house. Y/N easily could tell he was upset as he sat on the couch, angrily throwing his shoes. She grabbed him a beer and sat next to him. He grabbed the beer as she softly played with his hair. He felt his body relaxing as he leaned against the couch.
"what's wrong?" She asked, her fingers massaging his head.
"Tracy bitched me out for missing a meeting for a late night talk show that I had no idea about! I tried to explain that i was unaware of it but she wouldn't give me a chance to fucking speak. " Eddie ranted, going on and on but Y/N felt the guilt in her bones. Her hand reached into her pocket, the piece of paper with the message she never called about.
"Um, babe?" She said quietly, Eddie hummed and looked at her. His hand was on her knee as he waited for her to speak.
"She called the house and told me. I wrote it all down! I just forgot to call you on your break. I'm sorry." Y/N apologized, handing him the crumpled piece of paper.
Eddie knew he shouldn't get upset at her, it was the pregnancy brain. But he missed a huge opportunity because of it.
"DAMMIT Y/N!" He groaned, getting off the couch, and ran his hand over his face. She jumped at his loud voice, sinking into the couch as he paced in front of her.
"WHAT DO I DO WITH THIS NOW?" he screamed, throwing the piece of paper on the floor. Y/N felt tears in her eyes as he shouted. He was shouting around her, not directly in her face but it almost felt like it.
"I'm sorry!" She cried, tears falling down her face as she tried to stand up. She struggled but made it to her feet. Reaching for his hands. She smiled through her tears when he allowed her to hold his hands. Her hands softly held his.
"This would have been a huge opportunity for me, Y/N." He wasn't yelling anymore but she knew he was still mad. His voice was stern and low.
"I know! It slipped my head, and I completely forgot." She explained. Eddie nodded as he took away his hands. She quickly tried to grab them again but he stepped back.
"I just need a second, okay?" He groaned, throwing on his shoes as he grabbed his keys.
"WAIT! Baby don't leave! Just come relax on the couch, I'll go to the room." She pleaded. But he kept walking towards the door.
"I said I need a second. Your pregnancy brain is out of control and it needs to be fixed" He snapped and slammed the door. Y/N covered her mouth as she sobbed. She always fucked everything up because of her pregnancy brain. It was always the little things but now she cost Eddie a huge opportunity in his career.
~~~
Eddie sighed as he rubbed his face. The loud bar filled his ears as he tried to calm down. He called a friend to come sit with him, he needed to vent but couldn't stand to watch his wife cry because of him.
"So let me get this straight, your PR manager called your house phone, instead of your personal cell to deliver this huge important message and left it with your wife. The wife that is like two days away from birth is suffering from pregnancy brain, and you yelled at her instead of your PR manager? The manager should have called you in the first place." Steve explained, a frown on his face.
"Son of a bitch," Eddie groaned, smacking his head against the bar counter. "You're right. God, I am like the biggest asshole, and easily the worst husband." The guilt ate him alive. It wasn't her fault, Tracy should have called him directly if it was such a huge deal.
"Go home and apologize, own up to it, and make her feel like she didn't mess up your career."
~~~
Eddie slowly walked into the house, the lights off as he looked around. He figured she must have gone to bed, another feeling of guilt knowing she struggled to make it up the stairs.
He sighed and walked into their bedroom, a light on near the bed and her laptop rested on her stomach as she slept.
Eddie stripped off his clothes and crawled into the bed, grabbing her laptop to shut it off. He scrunched his eyebrows as he read the article she was on.
"How to overcome pregnancy brain"
Eddie closed the laptop with a sad sigh, lying down as he wrapped his arm around her. Softly rubbing her swollen stomach as she slept. He kissed her head and whispered apologies in her ear.
He'd wait until the morning to talk it out with her.
~~~
Eddie yawned as he walked down the stairs, Y/N was already out of bed when he woke up. He could hear her on the phone, her voice trembling as she cried.
"No Tracy, please! It was all my fault. He didn't miss it or anything. I forgot to tell him. You have to set something new up, like just ca-" Eddie grabbed the phone from her hand and hung it up. Her wet eyes stared at him as she tried to grab the phone.
"EDDIE STOP!" she sobbed, choking on her tears as she tried to grab the phone, but he threw it across the counter.
He wrapped his arms around her as she cried into his chest. He held her tightly and kissed her forehead.
"It's okay, shh," he cooed, swinging them back and forth as he held her. "I'm not mad and I'm sorry for yelling. None of it was your fault, and it was wrong of me to blame you."
"No! I messed it up. I'm just so stupid and forget everything."
"You're not stupid!" He argued, holding her head to make her look at him. "You are having our baby, and you've been carrying her for nine months. You are amazing. Tracy never should have left the message with you and I shouldn't have acted the way I did. You have every right to be spacey. Nothing is wrong with that or you. I love you so much. Please don't cry because of me." He softly wiped away her tears and kissed her forehead.
"I love you too." She said, cuddling into his chest.
"Now how about we take a nice bath and eat pizza" Eddie suggested, knowing that was her favorite routine to do when she was upset.
Eddie laughed as she yanked herself out of his arms and headed for the bathroom.
A few more days until their family had a new member.
