#the homesickness just hit lol#i miss my homelands#i fall back in love with the Okanagan every single autumn#ive never lived outside of the okanagan/plateau and god I miss it I miss it so much#and I miss my family and my parents and my partner and my dog and my cats#and I might not get to go home for winter break and I think it would kill me to stay#i miss sitting in front of the woodstove and waking up to hoarfrost and taking my dog on a walk to the mailbox#i miss how dry the air is at home and I miss the high altitude and I miss the forests#i miss how October can be 80 degrees one day and thirty the next#i miss the way the valley turns colors#i miss the way the air mists over the marsh and how the mountians are snowcapped while the valley stays dry for another month#i miss watching the birds leave for the winter. waking up to the sudden realization they’ve all left for the winter#i miss going on walks and idly tracking a herd across the mountain#i miss watching the horses and dogs grow their winter coats in
